Is this Latin 201?

Sorry I'm late, the line in the bookstore was crazy. This is the syllabus? Thanks... wait, this isn't 2nd year Latin? SHIT!

Is Latin still taught in schools? We never had Latin in my country. :(

We had Latin taught at our school and Classics, which involved translating Ancient Greek. Mine was a particularly middle class school though, I doubt many free places still teach it.

I do think more tattoo artists could afford to learn a bit though, you don't half see some dodgy, ancient Roman phrases inked on to people.

What's the most practical use of Latin these days? (aside from tattooing the right words)
Does the scientific community still use Latin? Probably the Historians use it a lot, but I dunno for the average Joe.

I would like to learn Latin just so I can sound intelligent.

The Vatican still uses the language. You can go there and fight with the clergy if you want!

Latin teachers are the best teachers. They're completely insane.

(We had Latin in first year of public high school)

Haha, Latin teachers. We all swore our high school Latin teacher went home during her free period and drank. She was...intense.

I wish I'd learned Latin. It's used a lot in the binomial nomenclature in Zoology and would probably be a damn sight easier to remember if I knew what the words actually meant. You do kind of pick it up as you go along though.
