24 Season 5 Discussion

Yep, discuss the greatest show ever made. The latest season only.

Proceed with caution if you have missed or not caught up to an already aired episode.

Spoiler tags are a must on unaired episodes AND aired previews

And don't forget http://otafterhours.com/Uploader/fil...pics/chloe.gif so I will know.

Next week's double Bauer hour is promising to be ridiculous. It sucks because I have a Monday night class that lasts from 5:30 to 8:30. And I usually make it back just in time for the episode. Next week, however...

I believe this is reason enough to skip the class, or at least leave an hour early. Hopefully, my professor will understand. I'm curious as to how many other students in the class will leave early/skip to go watch 24.

This show is off the hook. But am I the only one who hates seeing them kill off all the regulars? Jack is like the only one left from the beginning (Tony's dead as fuck).

VermillionFF7 Mar 2, 2006 03:53 PM

Curtis: 1
Lynn: 0

Robocop: 2
Jack: 0

Grundlefield Earth Mar 2, 2006 03:59 PM

Care to explain the purpose of that?

I didn't mind seeing most of the main characters killed off or leave throughout the five seasons, but I still want some on the show. Tony will be back this season if the next (guessing) and kim and chase (not that main, only one season) are probably open to come back. From season 2 and 1, not many can come back, if any. Except that one guy who was on the boat at the end of season 2. Do you guys remember him? I forget his name, but at first I thought he was the Season 5 russian guy who just showed up. However, I am 100% sure it isnt after replaying season 2 in my mind. He was the one behind the bomb plot, but palmer mentioned capturing the men behind it in season3 episode 1.

VermillionFF7 Mar 2, 2006 04:03 PM

Um, were you talking to me BZ?

EDIT: In case you didn't know, the actor as Jack's old "friend" that episode also played Robocop.

Peter Mar 2, 2006 04:07 PM

The guy who gives the order for the Palmer assassination attempt? I don't think it was him, and it seems like they already solved it. What I don't like about this season is that they killed off some major characters for a rather useless reason. Michelle didn't have to die, and the Palmer assassination was just too much, since he probably wouldn't have been able to prevent the attack anyway.

Grundlefield Earth Mar 2, 2006 04:09 PM

NO I was relating to the guy in SEASON 2, not season 5 assasination guy.

They left him out in the blue, but maybe 24 the game will clear him up.

Peter Mar 2, 2006 04:57 PM

I'm talking about the guy who ordered the chick to poison Palmer with the thing on her hand, the one who also gave orders to the guy who was shot in the stadion. Note that I said ATTEMPT, since it failed.

Grundlefield Earth Mar 2, 2006 05:03 PM

Yeah ok, I misinterpreted what you said. The guy that was on the boat is either still out there or palmers mention of the plot in the first ep of season 3 was the resolution.

Rollins Mar 2, 2006 05:10 PM

Bah, forget all this talk about Jack Bauer. I'm telling you, Aaron will never be killed.

I'm just waiting for when Keifer asks for too much money (and mysteriously disappears with Audrey, like Kim and Chase) and they make a spinoff about Aaron's day.

Can't wait for the two hour goodness on Monday. Probably will have to resort to torrenting them though =/

Grundlefield Earth Mar 2, 2006 05:15 PM

Yeah, Aarron is fucking badass. Gotta love him. I like that he is getting a little more screentime this year. Basically, the only guys are who have been in every season so far, is Jack, Tony, Novick, Palmer and Aaron. And right now it's just Jack, Novick and Aaron who have had roles throughout each season primarily.

They cover Max in the video game.

I'm pretty sure he's apprehended / killed, but I'm only half-way through the game so far.

Actually, Novick wasn't in season 3 at all. He got replaced by Wayne after he betrayed Palmer in season 2, remember? He didn't come back until about halfway through season 4, when Logan took over after Air Force One got hit. Sorry, I'm just a stickler for details.

jouhou Mar 2, 2006 07:05 PM

LOL @ the hobit. Curtis said "STFU!"
Next week is two new episode of 24 from 8-10, don't forget and miss the first half!!

Man_of_Pie Mar 2, 2006 07:20 PM

I miss President Palmer. That new guy is an crotch potato. Not only that but he isn't black. Why'd they have to kill off the most powerful black man on 24? That's just racism.

Don't get me wrong, i miss Palmer too, but seriosuly though, what else could he have done this season? team up w/jack?? he was limitied to a "consulting" role for Logan last year. the writers might have been running out of ideas for palmer.

Edit: This Monday's episode will have the new trailer for X-Men 3. SWEET!

khan0plinger Mar 3, 2006 02:37 AM

So did they ever say what happened to President Keeler? I know he was incapacitated from S4, and Logan took over...but his fate was never told was it?

Grundlefield Earth Mar 3, 2006 03:28 AM

Nope, not yet at least. Maybe later he will bitchslap Logan.

khan0plinger Mar 3, 2006 04:34 AM

They had a newsreport here about how hated President Logan was, apparently some people sent hate mail and threats to the actor who plays him. LOL

Peter Mar 3, 2006 05:27 AM

I higly doubt that we'll see Keeler coming back, since Logan makes a much better character. Keeler was a nice president, but he wasn't nearly as good as Palmer. I actually like Logan, since he's the total opposite of Palmer, and at least he's human enough to make mistakes, although too many, which was something I missed with Palmer.

Well, Palmer did make mistakes (probably moreso in season 1 than in the other seasons), but overall he did a pretty good job, as opposed to Logan, who seems to do nothing but make mistakes. I do applaud the fact that they made both presidents have a stark contrast to each other rather than just making Logan a (white) cookie-cutter clone, but overall I still hate Logan's guts (probably more than I even hate most of the villains). I said it in another post, but I'll say it here too: It amazes me how the best fictional president of all time and the worst fictional president of all time manage to come from the same show.

If you miss him so much, you could always watch him on the All-State commercials! :p

Or watch The Unit which will air on Tuesday on CBS.

I'm definitely gonna be watching that show, and mainly just because of Dennis Haysbert. If it wasn't because of him (and because it's also made by The Shield creator Shawn Ryan) I probaly wouldn't give the show a second glance.

Man_of_Pie Mar 3, 2006 09:11 PM

I saw this clip from one of the previous seasons of 24. (I only got into 24 around the middle of the 3rd season) Well anyway the clip had some dude hook up to some crazy ass machine with all these asian fellers yelling at him. I think there was also some really hot asian neo-nazi chick with a whip or something just walking around and looking sexy. Well anyway what was that whole thing about?
