I'm only making this Winter 06/07 season thread since Boo asked me to

Because the fact that nobody is posting in the Kanon 2006 thread is proof that Animespot has horrible, horrible taste.

Anyway:

11/11 Tokyo Tribe 2 - Urban hip-hop something. Do they really have that in Japan?

12/22 Catblue Dynamite - A brilliant combination of shooting people and catgirls. Trailer's in English.

12/22-23 Digi Charat Winter Garden - COMPLETELY SERIOUS DIGI CHARAT ROMANCE

12/22-23 Rozen Maiden Ouverture - Suigintou fanservice

Neither of these are TV series, I think.

12/30 Galaxy Railways ~letter from the abadoned planet~ - A boring show for train anoraks.

01/04 Saint October - Gothic lolita + lolita guns fight (again)

01/06 Del tora Quest - A series of Australian teen fantasy novels. An actual Australian will have to tell us if they're good.

01/06 Major - Baseball.

01/07 Les Misérables - The triumphant return of World Masterpiece Theater!
(There was an anime of The Sound of Music?)

01/11 Nodame Cantabile - Another media franchise like NANA, but not as popular and with a lot more classical music. ANN

01/11 Venus Versus Virus - Gothic lolita + lolita guns magic fight

01/13 Getsumen Heiki Mi~na (The Moon Rabbit Weapon Mi~na) - Densha Otoko's opening anime, for real!

01/19 Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Tou - School supernatural mystery! Wait, I think this is a video game anime :(
(People will probably be mispelling this as "tokyo majin gaku en ken kaze chou ryuu ryuu" or something, it has weird kanji)

February
Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny

Yes! Pretty Cure 5 - Yes.

March
Tale of Saiunkoku

Sisters of Wellber

MOÉ BLOBS
01/05 Kyoshiro Sora - Ha ha. Kaishaku. New Kannazuki no Miko?

01/07 Manabi Straight - Set in 2035 after the depopulation of Japan; some kind of moe YKK.

01/11 Hidamari Sketch - 4koma slice of life &c

01/13 Angelique - Yaoi, so honorary membership in here.

01/07 Shuffle! Memories - I'm not actually sure of this is a sequel or not.

01/07 Himawari 2 - Moe ninjas.

01/07 Master of Epic The Animation Age - Oho I see what you did there

02/21 Rocket Girl - Moe in space.

04/-- Polyphonica - tits, or would be if there were any tits. So, nothing.

MANLY TV
12/15 Saint Seiya Hades: After Chapter

01/09 Project Blue Earth SOS - Victorian future-retro-future ray guns vs space aliens

01/12 FLAG 2nd

02/15 Super Beast Machine God Dancougar

01/19 GIANT ROBO - GIANT ROBO GIANT ROBO GIANT ROBO :siren:
(Not a continuation of The Day the Earth Stood Still, closer to the original. Daisuke is 18.)

01/-- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Gainax's new giant-sunglasses-robot show.

03/-- Reideen

03/-- Moonlight Mile - Not PLANETES.

OVA
12/22 02/23 04/25 Genshiken

01/01 Strike Witches

01/31 03/28 Maria-sama ga Miteru

02/25 03/28 04/25 Ichigo Marshmellow

03/23 Agent Aika - http://animejump.com/index.php?modul...wcontent&id=60 (panty shots itt)

03/26 Murder Princess

Sky Girls - terrible

MOVIES
Nothing to report, check back next season for Kino's Journeys and Evangelion.
Well, there's a live action GeGeGe no Kitarou movie, but only actual Japanese people care about that :(

FUTURE
Idolmaster Xenoglossia - http://www.insertcredit.com/reviews/idolmaster/

Bokurano - Giant robot show from Mohiro Kitoh. You know, the Narutaru guy. Same kind of thing.

FURTHER FUTURE
Haruhi 2
Kiddy Grade 2
ROMEO x JULIET - Thanks GONZO.
(okay obligatory Nanoha StrikerS/3rd and 5 Centimeters Per Second)

Nothing that really interests me, except maybe for that Kyoshiro Sora thing because it has Ayako Kawasumi voicing a carbon copy of Himemiya Chikane, plus it looks like an even bigger trainwreck than Kannazuki no Miko.

Stop Sign Jan 7, 2007 07:34 PM

I will watch the Les Miserables anime, if only to :tpg: my head off. (Actually, I'm kinda hoping it'd be good, but the chances are seem slim to me.)

chato Jan 7, 2007 08:39 PM

Only one anime is/was interesting and that's Rozen Maiden.I'll continue to enjoy watching Genshiken and the new SJ animes.

Soluzar Jan 7, 2007 08:43 PM

... there's going to be more MariMite?

Why was I not informed? ^__^

OVA has been on Suki for a week or so.

No fucking way there is a new Aika OVA, since the last ep kinda left me reelin'

hikarub Jan 8, 2007 02:35 PM

Well, if Haruhi 2 is confirmed I'll probabaly go for that. Getsumen Heiki Mi~na might be okay too, but I'm not looking too forward to it.

Isn't there supposed to be a second Keroro Gunsou movie out this year?

HazelGuy Jan 8, 2007 03:56 PM

I'm Australian and I can tell you those Deltora books are horrible. To be fair, they say they're written for children, they're talking about 7 year olds. Its basically horribly written fantasy for kids and pulls every cliche in the book out to do it. Sorta like Eragon, but for younger kids.

That said, they can perhaps do something with it, I'm just worried since they're using such horrible source material.

Oh hell yes. I somehow doubt this will be good, I don't know why at this point (talk about personal hype), but time to break out and dust off that old av/sig set of mine. Speaking of which, I'm trying to find that figurine of her (so I could post in one particular sewers thread ;__;).

ROMEO x JULIET - Thanks GONZO.
After seeing your journal entry, Blah, I do have some interest for this. And that new Rozen Maiden OVA as well.

lemonmanko Jan 9, 2007 05:32 AM

already finished Digi Charat Winter Garden and Rozen Maiden Ouverture both gave me a "i want more" closer oh well

plan on checking out these this season
Nodame Cantabile (ppl keep talking about this manga and its base on a true story i shall look into it)
Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny (i heard its risky as hell plus the first series wasn't that bad)
Ichigo Marshmellow (your kidding me right? hell yes i welcome more Miu)
Haruhi 2
Kiddy Grade 2 (yes! YES! love this show to bits)

and maybe if i have nothing to watch

Shuffle! Memories
ROMEO x JULIET

Taco Jan 9, 2007 09:24 AM

I also watched Winter Garden, I had a hard time believing it was Di Gi Charat at all.

Spoiler:
The ending was abrupt, but still gave me a chuckle. Could've seen it coming from a mile away, but given it was only 2 episodes, the show delivered far more than I expected. Poor Dejiko XD

Dee Jan 9, 2007 11:29 AM

Whoa, Les Mis? Jean Valjean looks... weird. So does Cosette. Well, all of them look funny. Since it's not a series (?) I think the chances of cramming a 1500 page book into a couple hours will always go wrong (cough, musical). The Romeo x Juliet also looks killer. Let's hope Gonzo makes another WIN with this one.

map car man words telling me to do things Jan 9, 2007 04:53 PM

Wherefore art thou Studio Pierrot ;_; We request news of Emma Second Barrage ._.

[23:42:56] <Q-chan> also wtf Genshiken OVAs WHERE IS THE SECOND SEASON

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, on the other hand, looks like something out of a Treasure game, animated by the ever awesome FLCL team.

[23:49:10] <Q-chan> red haired girl, win, skull hair clip, win, massive sniper rifle, win
[23:49:30] <Q-chan> also minimal clothing but a giant woollen scarf anyway
[23:49:34] <Q-chan> halious win
[23:49:41] <Q-chan> oh and pink socks

I'll just pray they don't Gainax the ending and I'll have found my series of the season.

It's a series, 52 episodes. More than just a couple of hours =p

I see. Well it's still much shorter than the time it took me to read it! xp

Taco Jan 10, 2007 05:51 PM

I'm eagerly awaiting a sub of Les Mis (only the Raw's out so far), but I get the feeling it'll get brushed aside simply because it's not omgmoe enough :/ If that happens I might have to cry.

Boo-kun Jan 11, 2007 04:47 AM

Oh dear, I got so excited drooling at some of the titles, I forgot to thank Blah. Tho I did so in chat.. but anyway, Blah is awesome when you bug him enough!

Arkhangelsk Jan 11, 2007 04:39 PM

OMG Nodame Cantabile. It's about the only thing that I'm looking forward to on this list, and I must say it's about time. I mean, they did a jdrama of it, but it only covered the first 9 volumes (and I don't think the fansubs were ever completed ;_; ). The artstyle is simple enough to animate, and the music is practically *given* to them for the most part.

I don't have much time to follow a lot of series these days, so this will be the only thing that I'll attempt to keep up with.
