So who else here can speak American Sign Language? =]

I think it's great, I mean, I'm just barely getting into the conversational part of the uhhh... lesson, or something, but I'm picking it up generally quick and can communicate decently with a deaf person if I had to. You?

My friends taught me the alphabet, but that's pretty much it.
At this simple stage, I can't even fathom how to memorize all the possible actions for words, let alone hold a conversation without just spelling everything out.

Well, the cool part of it is, is that most of the signs relate to how the actual object functions, or looks.

It's difficult at first, but if you're interested, it's easy going once you learn the foundation.

I want to learn sometime. My mom is an interpretor for the deaf, though I don't think she does ASL. Most of what I know are signs for animals, as we'd play a "What animal is this?" game when I was little. Overall it's pretty fun.

Have never really gotten into it. I have seen it often, as some of my volunteering at the University has sign language people involved.

I can understand most of it, but doing it myself, would take sometime...
