Any way to make MP3s louder?

I would like to know if there is any way to make an MP3 louder without introducing clipping. Thanks in advance.

Tired of reaching for your volume knob every time your mp3 player changes to a new song?
MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume.

I believe that's what you're looking for :).

I have actually tried MP3Gain, but seeing as I'm a noob at it, how can I increase the volume without clipping?

If the song is clipping even though you're using a lower "target volume" than the default then not much can be done.

Otherwise, try adjusting the Target Volume.
If that doesn't work, send the mp3 to me and I'll take a look =p

I might take you up on your offer when I finish compiling a custom soundtrack I'm working on for PSOBB if I can't figure it out myself. Thanks.

Haha, alright man.

Sorry I didn't give you a better answer. But that's all I could really say when concerning track gain issues.

Jokes aside - by turning up the volume knob. Or buying a better set of speakers.

Most music nowadays is actually made very loud, and this its heavily clipped. Compared to that, your tunes are probably on normal level (in fact the few rips I saw from videogames all had proper mastering and volume levels, instead of the clipping hell of commercial discs).

So technically if you want your normal non-loud non-clipped songs to sound loud, apply replaygain/mp3gain to everything else, and turn up the volume.

This doesn't help due to the fact that I'm making a custom soundtrack for PSOBB, which has extremely loud sound effects. This is the main reason I want to make the music louder, as sometimes I can't even hear it.
