"I don't usually map out my evenings."

Sara: What are you gonna do when you go home?
Nelson: I don't know. I don't usually map out my evenings.
Sara: You're gonna go home. Turn on your TV. Get bored. Turn on your computer. Go through your work. Get bored. Surf the net. Get bored. And think of me.
This thread isn't about mapping out your evenings, but like all routines, do you have a particular routine you go through when you get on your computer and/or log onto the Internet? If you are listing websites give at least a short description of what to expect if others decide to visit, other than that feel free to talk as much about what you do or where you visit.

In keeping with GamingForce's aggressive stance against pornography, links that are pornographic in nature will not be tolerated and will be reported for deletion: expect severe moderation. Other rules still apply.

I don't usually spend too much time actively being on the computer now that school has started, though I used to play World of Warcraft for a long time and was very involved in that. I do use my computer to listen to my music, but that could be done off it as well, so I don't count that time. For the most part when I get on the computer and get online I usually:
  • Check my e-mail
  • Get bored
  • Check if there's any threads on here worth talking about
  • Get bored
  • Check out YouTube: Website where people can upload their own videos, from video logs to whatever else.
  • Get bored
  • Stop by FatWallet: People post good deals of merchandise to buy or links to getting things for free.
  • Get bored
  • And look at woot!: Website that showcases one item a day you can buy at a bargain price.
  • Get bored
  • Hit refresh on the main page to wait for more threads worth talking about

My routine when I get online usually looks like this:

- Check email sites and do whatever it is that is required.
- See something interesting while checking email and totally forget about email
- Check facebook and GFF, see if there are any new messages, just typical social network stuff etc etc.
- Log on to AIM and check out friend's profiles for anything interesting or anything worth noting.
- Realize my email tabs are still around I go back to finish up email
- Refresh GFF a few times and reply to threads like this.
- Near the end of my session I'll maybe write up a journal entry or something, or start up FTP and leech some more.
- ???
- Profit

My time in front of the computer has decreased since school has started as well. I typically spend about 1-2 hours on the computer daily, and most of my time is spent working on something school-related.

- Check my forums on GFF and PMs
- Check email
- Check the websites for my classes in case new notes have been posted
- Animesuki for new releases

-I always start with Gamingforce, going from forums to ChocoJournal.
-Next, I check the comic book message board I visit, forums.comicbookresources.com, usually starting at the top and working my way down.
-When bored, I occasionally remember to check my e-mail.
-After all of this is done and I still have nothing to do, I resort to playing in the GFF Arcade.

I dont always do this exactly. But it's generally what I do everyday when I get on the computer. My routine is as follows:

- Check Email
- Sign on to chat programs and see who's online
- Load up every site I normally visit in a shit ton of tabs
- Check Gamingforce
- Check 4chan
- Check a friend's art circle
- Check some gaming sites
- Check some news sites
- If I have homework I do it now
- If anyone is online I chat with them now
- Continue writing any stories I'm working on
- If I choose not to write I will either

1) Game
2) Screw around in PS/Maya
3) Practice some coding
4) Work on my computer (tweaking the software/hardware config)

- Finally, if I ultimately have nothing left to do I go back through places like 4chan for entertainment.

That's about it I suppose. But this is if I get on the computer. These days I just cannot get on very often. With school work, job, family, and so on.. I just cant always get the time.

It's pretty standard what I do.

After I get home from school:

-straight to the computer and lurk around GF.
-Check hotmail account 1.
-Check hotmail account 2.
-Check cox email account.
-Check messages at Deviantart.
-Check Anime Suki for any interesting torrents.
-Youtube
-Watch Invader Zim on Winamp sometimes.
-Homework inbetween.
-Amazon. Seems I've been going there a lot lately.

I usually end up checking my email several times a day and hitting the refresh button on GF ;p. Sad, I know.

Usually I check my e-mail when I get online and my LJ before I get offline. Everything else inbetween follows no direct order but consists of chatting, checking message boards, some artsy stuff and a few other little things depending on where my interest leads.

I get online and the first sites I go to are www.cnn.com, www.cbc.ca, and Outpost Gallifrey (http://www.gallifreyone.com/index.php) which is an Unoffical Doctor Who website. Then I head to my emails, then check out all the WISSOTA and other racing sites, including www.noparacing.com, and www.wissota.org.

Then I check out racing forums such as 20/20 Racing page, www.nascar.com, and on the rare occasion, the Formula 1 website.

At last, I check out Gamingforce forums, shinraonline, and a few minor other ones.

Then I repeat the whole process two or three times.... Then I go to bed.... usually around 1:00am
