Yeah I am very interested in hearing Maynard James Keenan and the gangs new work. I dont know if anything is going to be able to top Aenima but we shall see.

I always like to hear new Tool.

I didn't know Tool was still together. Thought the lead singer had something to do with Perfect Circle. I don't really follow music though.

When's Audioslave going to break up so RATM can come back and rap about how they hate Bush.

APC was just Maynards other band. When he wasnt making an album for Tool he was making albums for APC.

Fucking finally. I have been waiting for their new album for a very, very, very, extremely long time.

Let's hope it can match their previous work.

Wall Feces Mar 6, 2006 12:27 AM

AUGH FINALLY!! I'm not a fan of APC so this is great news to me. Lateralus was such a great album, I can only hope this will match it's greatness.

Lateralus was a good album, but Aenima was a godly album and it should match that GODLINESS.

Agrias Mar 6, 2006 01:08 AM

Danny Carey (the drummer) states that this new album will not be created on the template of Lateralus (or Aenima for that matter). It will be more akin to a "blues" album in the style of Tool.

I wonder what that means...

Arkhangelsk Mar 6, 2006 01:13 AM

I'm curious...I'm not a fan of APC either, so I was kind of tired of seeing Maynard doing stuff with that instead of Tool.

Then again, the more time between albums means (hopefully) that they're working extra hard on the next album....right? Anyways, as long as one song doesn't get the shit played out of it on the radio *coughSchismcough*, I'll be happy.

CileGray Mar 6, 2006 01:15 AM

I personally can't wait for it. I didn't like Lateralus just quite as much as the older albums though

I can agree to that ;)

I mean hell, even Undertow was terrific... I dont think Tool can do any wrong, so I dont think there's anything to worry about.

There was a fundamental problem with Aenima.

You could not replace the case.

Fleshy Fun-Bridge Mar 6, 2006 03:40 AM

Aenima, imo, is the pinnacle of Tool's work. It is one of a few albums that can be taken in its entirety as a work of excellence--no picking and choosing tracks here.

DBCE Slayer Mar 6, 2006 03:42 AM

I really can't wait for this new album. It'll be a real treat if it comes out before my graduation.

From what I hear, this is supposed to be a bit heavier than their last. Whereas Lateralus was more of a tantric vibe, this one is grounded a bit more in metal. Mind you, I don't remember where I heard that, so we'll see. I'm buying day of, in any case.

Even the windshield wiper song? I like Aenima a lot, but I definitely do some picking and choosing of tracks. I remember the first time I heard Stinkfist, it blew me away, but to me, Eulogy is probably the best single song that Tool has ever done. Since I'm a big fan of both Aenima and Undertow, a new album with similarities to either of those albums would not be a bad thing; then again, something that sounds a lot different than their previous work, but retains the same Tool "feel" would be more than acceptable.

Actually I had that problem too. I bought Aenima when I was on vacation and the case cracked. Wasn't the same after that :(

I've also heard recently that it is going to be more metal, which should make for an awesome cd.

I don't know about the rest of you but I can't wait to see them in concert. :edgarrock:

Holy s**t, this just made my day. A new Tool album is always a good thing.
Looking forward to this bigtime, specially if they promote it with their awesome videos.
