There has got to be fans of this game here, and holy shit the game is being re-released for ps2. This is amazing news I think, and deserves discusssion!!!

WoW, I can't believe that they're porting it over after all this time. However seeing how I played it soooooo much in the arcades back in the day, I don't know if I'm going to enjoy it the same without the arcade sticks.

Awesome game though ^^

And while completely fucking AWESOME, it's a shame it's not the much, MUCH superior Oratorio Tangram.

Cool piece of news nonetheless

No U.S./Worldwide announcement, though, so don't get too worked up yet.
Man, I used to love this game in the arcades too, though. This one and the other sit-down tank game with double joysticks. (Whatever the name was.)

Gechmir Sep 14, 2007 01:36 AM

Playing this game on the arcades was a god damn BLAST. It's meant for the PS2 with its dual analogs, I mean really.

I hope it comes here. This is a reeeaaaaally awesome game =O

Probably won't though... We aren't getting the Phantasy Star remakes nor did we get the Gain Ground remake ;__; I LOVE GAIN GROUND.

That looks so awesome. I wish my Saturn version still worked, SCRATCH LAND. Sega released nine of these remakes in Amairecar/Yourope via Sega Classics Collection, but they were all terrible (except Fantasy Zone) because the early ones were done by various D3 garbage dump-developers and nobody bought Sega Classics Collection because of this so Sega went back to the drawing board and came up with more Sonic character designs.

"Sega can you release these good remakes?"
"No, here's a camel with rockets for eyeballs"

Yay Fei Yen returns!!

It would be neat if they remade the Arcade Sticks they had made for the Saturn. That would be awsome. Glad to see its recieving 2nd life. The one arcade machine of Virtual On that I still knew of, had horrible maintenance, one stick kept turning you left and the other side of the machine had horrible flicker issues, plus discoloration. Last time, I played this was 2 years ago.

I love playing Virtual On in the arcades, but I'm not sure if it would be nearly as much fun without the sticks. If they actually manage to get a good control scheme with the dual analog sticks then I hope it gets ported over to America.

Karasu Sep 14, 2007 07:40 PM

Well, I have VO Marz, and it's control scheme was just fine. I just wanted that game to be FASTER.

Dark Nation Sep 15, 2007 01:51 AM

Only time I ever got to play an authentic game of Virtual On was this one time when I was at this Arcade inside an Indoor Ice Arena, so being able to play a proper game of it should be interesting.

QFT.

Since I still have a working VOOT for Dreamcast I doubt I'll buy this. :(

I agree. Unless they plan on making it worth my while (ie. releasing a peripheral that resembles the arcade controls).
