It's actually called "Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale" but c'mon who are we kidding here.

Confirmed characters include, in order of increasing awesomeness: Radec, Sweet Tooth, Kratos, Sly Cooper, Fat Princess, PaRappa.

Personally, I see this as yet another of Sony's increasingly desperate attempts to reinvent itself as Nintendo (cf. Playstation Move). But hey, if it means that all 17 PS3 owners that don't already own a Wii get the joy of stamina-based ring-out combat in which a machine gun is just as nonlethal as rap music, I'm happy for them.

If Crash Bandicoot won't come out of retirement, then you know the project has issues.

If they wanted to capitalize on the popularity of that Nintendo game, shouldn't they have done this like four years ago?

I'm not sure what I think about this. I mean, I'm interested to see what the entire cast will be, but I really didn't play SSB a whole lot either. Fat Princess will probably be the OP one. I dunno, we'll see as more details pop out, but I have way too many games on my must buy list this year. :|

This is one of the most derivative fuck ups I've seen in forever. The Helghast/Snake thing is particularily insulting.

Combine with the fact that none of these characters are at all interesting and you're left with some of the saddest looking shit this side of...well, Sony's own finances.

Keep in mind they probably also have assist/support characters not that Yorda couldn't potentially be an extremely badass fighter if she goes dark mode. A crumbling Ico stage would actually be a really good idea. There's quite a number of locals in Ico that would make good fighting layouts actually.

Parappa is like one of the only personalities that Sony has that's comparable to Mario or Sonic. It's a shame they didn't do more with that franchise. Besides a few quirky titles there's a lot of bland shit to choose from for this game. I hope it's interesting enough and they reach deep enough to find clever characters than HELMET GUY FROM SHOOTEMUP and KRATOS. I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of third party characters.

Crash Bandicoot and Spyro always get confused as Sony properties. I wouldn't be surprised to see them as third party characters in this game though.

Well, practical console exclusivity for the 32-bit era will do that to you.

Happens alot, it was a rather quiet sale from what I heard. And if not for Skylanders, Spyro would be all but dead as a franchise.

There is no stamina

There are no ring outs

Attacks don't do any damage. They just add to your super meter. You need to use supers to actually get a KO. There's no health. People are either perfectly fine or dead. You spend the entire round building meter so you can take turns firing your supers off.

I get that they felt that they had to change up the Smash formula but this was not the way to do it
