The New Name

The description of this subforum mentions us creating our own name for this place. I mean, The Comic Book Subforum is an okay name, but it just isn't catchy. Maybe something with fewer syllables. At the very least, I think it should be something kind of clever and that we all can agree on. Sound good?

Okay, here's my idea:

Hero Helper

You know what, I'm throwing "The Quarter Bin" out there again. It was picked as the name of the old forum for a reason. Just because some people who didn't understand what a quarter bin is (and thus, should not fucking be here in the first place) didn't like it, doesn't take away from the fact that it's an absolutely great name for a comic forum.

Mucknuggle Apr 13, 2006 05:15 AM

Backissues - that's what we should call this place. Also, not updating the website with 0days anymore? :(

VitaPup Apr 13, 2006 07:07 AM

"Men in Tights"?

Musharraf Apr 13, 2006 09:11 AM

What the hell, I thought we've already had a 100+ replies poll thread for that, with lots of drama included, and nothing has happened yet?

HightopNinja Apr 13, 2006 09:29 AM

I will nominate "Bagged and Boarded" once again.

"Nerd Nexus"

Little Brenty Brent Brent Apr 13, 2006 01:53 PM

They're just renaming the subforum Eleo, not the whole thing.

I think the problem is that there are so few quarter bins these days. Most of them are dollar bins, but that doesn't sound anywhere near as appealing.

I second Quarter Bin. Its pretty good, and I haven't heard any better suggestions from anyone else.

I just realized something. We need a way to get rid of the bad ones. Then, we can vote for the good ones later. Now, how do we determine which ones are bad...

You started what exactly? The idea that we should have a comic book subforum? You yourself came up with the idea that a forum full of gaming nerds who talk about movies all day would probably be a good place for comic book discussion? You were the first person to do this? Wow. I'm quite impressed. although wasn't it Happy that really got this thing rolling....

And no dude, fuck you. I stand by my remark. If you don't know what a quarter bin is, you probably arn't really that much of a comic fan (see I can be elitest too!) and really have no business poking your nose in what a subforum catering to others is called. Perhaps if you held off with the "fuck you"'s and "look I can fit my WHOLE foot in my mouth" attack, you'd stop and think about that.

Quarter Bin - A bin of old random comics usually located under a dealers table at a comic con or somewhere in the back of a comic show. Filled with just about anything, and used by collectors to fill gaps in collections/just buy something that they've never seen before. Everything from Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew to old Captain America's. Said comic retail for (Well atleast used too) a quarter.

Eat a dick.

Yes, I know.

"Nerd Nexus"

I dunno what happened, but Quarter Bin was nice. But for the sake of contributing a new name, I'll go for Wizard Tower. heh. That's from Pom, he said it's a name of a store where nerds meet and do oddworldy rituals.

im sorry =( i was in a bad mood. me and happy started the ball on #comics which led to this. but there are many people from other countries then america and dont really have a "quarter bin" so you assumed a bit too much.

Mucknuggle Apr 14, 2006 05:07 PM

I really didn't like The Quarter Bin. I'll The Comic Book Subforum over The Quarter Bin any day.

Well, you can have a whole list of generic sounding ones from the comics itself.

The Batcave
The Fortress of Solitude
The X-Mansion
The Avengers Tower/Mansion
The Satellite Headquarters
Lex-Corp
Metropolis
Gotham
The Heli-Carrier

There is alot of potential for this, We just have to think it through.

The frist time I suggested "fanboys and true believer" base on the book I read a while back, I am putting it out again. Although this time, how about "Fanboys VS True Believers"? :p
