GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra
The GI Joe movie set for release August 7th, 2009.
Set 10 years in the future, it's a telling of the rising of the COBRA... and you know where ever there's trouble, GI Joe will be there. :tpg: According to IMBD, GI Joe was originally going to be a global infantry (Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity) but the fan base were outspoken in wanting them to be Real American Heroes. Either way, I'm hoping the movie turns out at least somewhat decent. Some posters were released to promote the movie (spoilers for image size): Duke: Spoiler:
Ripcord: Spoiler:
Baroness: Spoiler:
Snake Eyes: Spoiler:
I'm kinda interested in what Cobra Commander will look like (and how Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the part. I dunno when a trailer of any kind will be out, but hopefully its soon. Didn't see anything on this and of course if there is one, just merge it. :P |

I hope this movie well be good. And that the characters don't do a crappy job at playing there roles.

I saw some pics of the cast a few months ago. Storm Shadow looks like a Japanese fashion star. And I heard Snake Eyes will be French?
|
What's it matter if Snake Eyes is French? If it goes anything like the comics, he'll never say a word. Freakin' ninjas and shit, dawg.

Well for those of us that like popcorn movies and 80's cartoons the first teaser trailer for the G.I. Joe movie has been released. It is literally going to your high octane over the top action popcorn flick without any substance whatsoever, but to see one of my favorite 80's cartoons put into live action form is enough to make me want to see it. Enjoy the trailer everybody.

Caught the Superbowl TV spot on FirstShowing this morning (I assume this is the same video) and I have to say, it's looking like it could be kinda cool, even if just a bit of dumb fun. Certainly one to keep an eye out for.

Watching that trailer, I actually put both hands over my face and screamed out "OMIGAWD THAT LOOKS SO HORRIBLE" only because I'm a huge fan of the old toys. Seriously, I have nearly all of the vehicles.
That being said, I'll still see it. But I'll never admit to it in public. |

Sorry for bumping up a a thread that is a couple of months old, but the first full international trailer of G.I. Joe has been released showing more of the characters and some of the G.I. Joe vehicles. It also shows a good indication of what some of the action scenes will be like.
It probably doesn't do the film any justice, but hey I'm just excited seeing one of my favorite 80's cartoons brought to the big screen. Really looking forward to seeing this one.
