How to connect to chat room

I'm new to these forums and could use a hand with connecting to the chat room. Can someone point me to any FAQs that talk about this. Thanks

No. Hard Pass. Aug 5, 2008 12:34 AM

Hop onto mIRC or any other IRC client. Join Psigenix (Deep13.psigenix.net should do you fine) then simply type in: /join #gfchat.

Easiest method is probably to use ChocoChat, under the Quick Links dropdown menu in the navigation bar.

I'll check it out tomorrow and thanks, this place kicks ass.

mIRC is the generally recommended client on Windows, though I found X-Chat 2 to be slightly preferable (and I believe actually free, unlike mIRC which is shareware). If, however, you happen to be on a Mac then I'd recommend Colloquy, which is a free client.

Shareware in so far as if you don't register, you have to wait, what, about 5 seconds before it starts?

Possibly there are some higher functions locked up but I struggle with the basics so the trial version suits me just fine.

Nah, I don't think the trial restricts you to anything. Sorry, should have mentioned that. But it is, however, Shareware and think that technically you're supposed to register it after a number of days. It's easy enough to ignore, true, but I personally found X-Chat 2 a nicer application to use and was 100% free.

Hmm.. chocochat was easy alright.

I use to use Sysreset, also free with trial restrictions.

The best bonus is that you get to look at this screen:
