If Torchlight could be called 'the other Diablo' (understandable considering the developers' pedigree) then this is the other Diablo 2. The lads and lasses at Runic have been quite busy, especially after the beta stress test back in May, but are confident enough to finally loose their creation on the world come the 20th.

In keeping with the principle of 'show, not tell', I point to this collection of beta videos as a starting point of answering 'what is this thing?'.

Fact: Torchlight 2 is larger than its predecessor in every way with one exception - it will be sold for the same US$20 as its predecessor.

Bought on Steam already but yeah, Borderlands 2 takes precedence.

Yup, I'll buy it whenever I have time, but Borderlands 2 is going to roll straight into Halo 4 and Blops 2 for me, not to mention other games in-between (AC3, RE6, etc). I loved Torchlight 1, but I don't see myself getting this until after the first of the year at the soonest.

It looks more like Diablo 2 with some cartoon elements in it...

I haven't played the first one yet. I'll probably get it when it's on sale on Steam.
