Movies You Never Get Tired Of.
Well, I just saw The Bourne Supremacy for probably the millionth time now. It comes on movie channels, and as I channel-surf, I can't help but watch it again. The same goes for The Bourne Identity. When it made its rounds on movie channels, I'd anchor down and watch it.
Always fancied the Bourne movies due to the setting, the technology, the fights & car chases (<3), and also due to how it was shot. Plus, they do shakey-camera stuff in action scenes without losing the viewer entirely (*cough*BatmanBegins*cough*). Black Hawk Down also fell into the same niche, although not quite to the degree of the Bourne movies. So, do ya'll have any flicks that you really don't get tired of watching repeatedly? We all have our favorites. C'mon now. |
Here are some flicks I could watch over and over again:
1. The Shawshank Redemption: Extremely awesome movie, best movie in history in my opinion; makes you understand what hope means. Still cannot believe this one didn't win ANY academy awards at all :( 2. Ronin: And if only for the most awesome car chasing scenes in movie history; great actors, great story, great directing. Definitely one of the most underrated movies ever. 3. Blues Brothers: Because this is a movie with style. Other movies would be Magnolia (because it's an awesome movie overall and the score is great), Smokie and the Bandit (because of Sherrif Buford T. Justice!!), Der Untergang (The Downfall, because it's the only good Hitler movie) and Fight Club (I watch this one everytime I had a shitty day) Will post some more later, but those are the three that came to my mind when I read this thread. |
The three Evil Dead films. I've probably seen them all about thirty or forty times, and every time I enjoy myself immensely. Hell, I've even listened to the DVD commentaries five or ten times.
|
Guh. I haven't seen Evil Dead II or Army of Darkness in ages. I totally need to buy those two ;__;
|
Oh yeah, Evil Dead is quite an attention-getter as well. If you don't want to watch the whole movie, you can get some spoiler-free review in the movie Donnie Darko.
|
Kill Bill Vol.1 - love the style, still need to watch vol.2
Blue Brothers - classic quotable humour Green Mile - emotionally gripping Shawshenk Redemption - classic Underworld Lady Vengeance - love the gripping emotion toward the end of the film just to name a few off the top of my head |
These are such corny/shitty movies, but, I can't help but like them:
Airheads (they used to play it all the time on MTV) Jurrassic Park Pretty much every Disney movie--Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and the Hunchback most noticably. Also, I like Batman Forever dispite what everyone else thinks of it. Two-Face and Riddler are the best villains ever >=0 |
Back to the Future I-III
This trilogy is beautiful on so many levels. Script, actors, soundtrack, timing. <3 BTTF. |
I love Airheads. I used to watch it on TV all the time, and I finally bought it so I can watch it anytime I want to.
I have watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Hedwig And The Angry Inch at least 100 times each, and, while I don't watch them every day now, I'm still up for watching them anytime. I've also seen Dazed and Confused and Empire Records more times than I can count, and I always watch them when I see that they are on TV or whenever I feel like putting the DVDs on. |
Two trilogies: the first three Star Wars films, and Kevin Smith's "Jersey trilogy," which consists of Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy.
Quentin Tarantino's films work well for me, too, my favorites being Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. I guess the SW movies I can watch over and over again just because I enjoy the universe it's set in so much. It's largely for that reason that I can tolerate the prequels. The Smith and Tarantino films I like largely for the dialogue and the characters, since they're not especially heavy on plot. |
Kill Bill (both volumes) - I find so much to enjoy in both of these films every time I watch them.
The Fly - Cronenberg's finest, if you ask me. It's got enough freaky shit combined with some good ol' fashioned character development. Plus, the run-time is juuust right. A Clockwork Orange - My favorite Kubrick movie. It never lets me down. Batman Begins - The movie feels an hour shorter than it actually is. I never get tired of watching it. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - I still laugh my balls off as if it was the first time I ever saw it. Back to the Future - One of the greatest films ever made, if you ask me. |
Hmmm....
Shawshank Redemption Down Periscope Death to Smoochy Death to Smoochy is probably my favourite of the three because Robin Williams acts so insane, which makes the movie all the greater. Its even better in slow-mo. |
The Shawshank Redemption. Great film, great acting. The sequence of Andy's escape, and the discovery of his empty cell in the morning continues to be very powerful, despite the fact that I have watched it a dozen times.
Donnie Darko. This movie has that "something intangible" that just does it for me. Where The Shawshank Redemption is a film built on hope, Donnie Darko is a film built on a distinct lack of hope {to me at least}. It's so beautifully dark and I love every minute of it. And then there are the actors who all give such wonderful performances. Holmes Osborne as the dad is just awesome. Drew Barrymore :swoon: Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Pretty much the best moron/buddy comedy in existence. So much hilarity running wild in this one. A Lot Like Love. Ok, I admit that I am a huge Ashton Kutcher fan. It doesn't help that this is one of the most enjoyable romantic comedies that I have seen. |

I love the slow-motion scene with "Head Over Heels" by Tears for Fears, too. The whole soundtrack is killer, both the song selection and the original score by Michael Andrews. |
A bit thrown together, but:
Jurassic Park - An all around great movie with a little bit of everything. It simply has "the magic". The Brave Little Toaster - This one might be the most unlikely pick, but I've always loved the teamwork and friendship elements. Plus it has a dark quality to it that I've always found curious. The Big Kahuna - Just an insightful and well acted movie. I love how everything essentially takes place in one room. Empire Strikes Back - I probably don't need to explain this one. The best Star Wars movie and just a great movie period. Tombstone - The only western that I truly enjoy and Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday is just amazing. Me, Myself and Irene - I never get tired of the humor in this one. This and The Truman Show are probably my favorite Jim Carrey movies. L.A. Confidential - This one stays interesting throughout and has a great mix of mystery and suspense. Terminator 2 - Epic sci-fi stuff with great action and the right amount of emotional drama. There are some other movies I could've listed, but these are the ones that came to mind first, and I should probably leave it at eight. Quote:
|
Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
Yeah, I love this movie. It reminds me of all the fun I've had watching Looney Tunes when I was young. I watched it day after day at one point. I never get tired of Bugs Bunny and his antics. |

Though I've seen some pretty rad films listed so far, I'm sort of sad that nobody's busted out Super Troopers yet. The stupid humour in that movie just does not get old. Ever.
|
Chungking Express - There is something about this film that's so wonderful.
Chinese Odyssey 2002 - Funny, creative, and warm hearted. Faye Wong is great here. Dawn of the Dead - George A. Romero put together a masterpiece. When you think of zombie, this is the film. Prison on Fire - This movie is so good. See Chow Yun-Fat lose it. How cooler can it get? The Killer - One of Chow Yun-Fat's best. An emotional crime/drama film. Rambo: First Blood - Stallone's best. One man army, bunch of losers, guns, and the fight for survival. The Thing - Right up there for one of the best horror films ever made. Cube - Original, creative, and has that edge of your seatness to it. I love this film. Any Star Trek film - Whatever film it is, i'll watch it and never get bored it. The Mission - Johnnie To's film from Hong Kong. I like these kind of films. PTU - This is what Johnnie To is all about. Fans of his will dig this. Alien - Well, what else needs to be said about this film? Aliens - As good as the original. Everybody has seen this, right? Predator - Ugly monster, Arnold, memorable moments, awesome action, what else do you want? |
Quote:
My movies... Super Mario Bros. - And no, I'm not kidding. I must be the only person to actually enjoy this film. Damned awesome. ;_; Bad Boys I & II - Too much action & comedy. I even watched the featurettes for how-many-times afterwards. And, really, any movie with lots of action or lots of comedy. I just can't think of any at the moment (which must mean I haven't seen too many of those). |
The Goonies - My favorite movie. All around great fun.
The Road Warrior - Lord Humungus tears it up. Die Hard - Can't get much better than Hans Gruber. The Thing (1982) - One of my favorites, creepy as all hell, awesome setting and effects. Plus Wilford Brimley, can't go wrong there. He has diabeetus. |
Quote:
|
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) - Despite reading the book I just can't get tired of this movie. I won't lie to you, I love the way the movie was represented. The minimalistic style of the guide itself, light-hearted comedy, and the awesome CG. For me at least, it really is like having your head smash with a lemon wrapped around a gold brick.
Back to the Future I~III - It might be due to my bias towards time-traveling stories. But when you hear five or more memorable catch phrases you know you'll see it again. Spaceballs - One of the first movies I can remember and still it never grows old. I think I've watched it enough times to be able to recite a good chunk of the movie (at least all the funny scenes.) |

Though I didn't know about the whole movie production thing. You're saying Douglas Adam would kill the guy that approved this movie without his say? Haha. Oh well, thanks for the recommendation, I'll look for the mini-series on my next movie hunt! |
True Lies. It's being an average film is not a factor. McDonald's is averge but you keep returning to the filth. Every time TL's on telly you tell yourself you'll only stay for the opening sequence. Then you find yourself in front of Arnold trashing cop cars with Harriets and tearing buildings apart with F-16s and you realise you've FAILED YOURSELF, once again.
Otherwise: the Indies. All of 'em. But they certianly aren't average. |
Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Obviously. Everytime I watch this, I find new jokes. Everything they did in that movie was for laughs, which is what makes it so great.
Dumb and Dumber - This is tops in dumb humor. Another great comedy. |
I love Pride and Prejudice (the newer version, not to say the BBC series was worse -- actually it's better -- but it's just too long for a casual watch). The ending makes you feel really happy for an odd reason.
And weirdly I enjoy watching My Best's Friend's Wedding at whatever occasion. One of those movies. On the same line as the previous, You've Got Mail is also one of those romantic comedies I can sit down and watch with my friends. |
"Dumb and Dumber" One of the best comedies ever! I used to watch it all the time and it never got old. How about when Harry Nolan Ryan's a snowball in her face, F-in kills me to this day. "Big gulps huh? well, see you later!"
|
Kill Bill Vol. 1 - just because of the cereal box gun, and the now classic Gogo Yubari scene
Memoirs of a Geisha - waaay too touching for me to put down, and beautiful in many respects Howl's Moving Castle - The wonderfully magic journey in a world of fantasy never ceases to amaze me. |
Quote:
Too many others to list, but I'm gonna try.... The Village High Fidelity Signs Wicker Park Serendipity Knotting Hill Serenity Constantine Gladiator Saving Private Ryan Legends of the Fall Dumb and Dumber Thats a good start... I'll try to update when I'm home in front of my DVD collection. |

A film I can't watch too many times would be one I watched recently, "The Color Purple". And it still makes me gush at the end, really well directed remake of the book. Everyone in it performs their role so well, especially Danny Glover. Fantastic stuff. |
Dark City
The blend of film noir, science-fiction, and psychological thriller that is this phenomenal movie will forever hold a place in my top 3 films of all time. Oh, and Richard O'Brien is too fucking creepy as Mr. Hand (lol@South Park). There's little more that really needs to be said about DC. Just...if you haven't yet seen it, do so. It will not disappoint. P.S. Jennifer Connelly FTW. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within The oft-maligned black sheep of the Final Fantasy franchise has, since the day I saw it in theatres, been among my favourite movies. GFF is no stranger to the fact that I'm not at all a fan of the FF games, nor even of Squaresoft in general, and I think the fact that the movie strayed so far from the tradition of the games is one of the primary reasons I enjoy it so much. I liked that they wrote it to appeal to those who had not played the games, and I appreciated the fact that while certain scenes were reminiscent of the games (ATV chase through the hangar/Escape from Vector and/or Midgar, Outer-space smooching to FF8 spaceship cockpit, etc.), they didn't slap the audience with "YOU WON'T GET ME UNLESS YOU PLAY THE GAME. ...NOW GIVE SQUARE YOUR MONEYS." While the characters may have fallen victim to the Uncanny Valley (wiki it, basically nonhuman entities which appear too human are perceived as being entirely fake and unrealistic), but after a while I learned to ignore the unnatural qualities of the people and appreciate the visuals as a larger whole. Even now, 5 years after its release, the film does impress with its visuals. Not necessarily on a technical scale, but certainly on an aesthetic one. I can't think of a single shot in the movie that wasn't interesting or possessed of at least some eye-catching detail. Oh, and Elliot Goldenthal is a god. Myriad works of David Lynch, namely Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, and Lost Highway I'm not counting Twin Peaks here simply because it's a series, and this thread is technically for standalone feature films. Still, these three have plenty of mind-rape material, and I am of the camp that believes weird-ass inexplicable shit can, in fact, be intelligent and thought-provoking, if only because so much is left open to interpretation. Blue boxes and keys, ladies living in radiators, weird sperm-worm things, the world's creepiest baby, and one guy in dire need of a tanning salon all come together to form visually intriguing, psychologically disturbing, and something-something-ing (gimme a fucking break, it's 3 AM) masterpieces that will never get old. Please note that I have deliberately avoided mentioning the lesbian scenes in Mulholl...oh, fucknuts. A NEW CHALLENGER HAS ARRIVED! Silent Hill You know, two years ago I hated survival-horror games because I always found the pacing (and that damnable RE control scheme) hair-pullingly frustratingly slow. A friend introduced me to (okay, twisted my arm into playing) Silent Hill 3, and while at first I found it "okay," a later play-through got me hooked. Flash forward 2 years, my survival horror collection is missing only Fatal Frame 3. Having gotten that out of the way, I went into SH with high expectations but also with an open mind. I know better than to expect a perfect game-to-movie adaptation, as the last time a movie was pixel-perfectly faithful to its source material was FF7:AC and we all know how THAT turned out. However, major character and plot liberties aside, SH succeeded in capturing the atmosphere, themes, and aesthetic of the games with mind-boggling accuracy. For a series that is so heavily centered on creating a pervasive feeling of tension, Hill format-shifted to the silver screen quite gracefully, and maintained virtually all of its signature "dead world" desolation and "otherworld" morbidity. With the exception of a few scenes involving Chris, the pacing of the movie is perfect. It seldom drags or grows boring, and the Otherworld scenes are fleshed-out (no pun intended) enough to be convincing and, well, fucking creepy. Yeah, this movie scared me. I can't remember the last time a movie...oh, wait, Aliens, Newt and Ripley trapped with the face-huggers in Medlab. Okay, and that was when I was 8 years old. In SH, when Rose was confronted by the ash babies and the Janitor, I actually felt like I wanted to get the hell out of the theatre. It was awesome. I saw it 4 times, it got better every time, and I'm making one more exception to my MPAA boycott and I am snatching up any and all basic, extended, director's cut, whatever versions of the DVD that are released. |
I keep several movies of mine in constant rotation. I mean, you can disagree with me and shit, but it would make you a horrible person. :(
Fight Club: Don't ask me why. It has recently become reviled in a lot of circles, but it is my favorite movie of all time. Visually and intellectually, it's a mindfuck. Los Diarios De Motocicletas: My second favorite film of all time. Wonderfully written, wonderful soundtrack, wonderful performances and it's about Che. What's NOT to like? Cidade De Deus: Nevermind that it's in Portuguese, you won't find a better interweaved set of stories anywhere on the rental shelves. EVER. Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain: Just one of the best movies that has ever come out of France and one of my favorite movies, period. Amores Perros: Proof that Mexicans are good at other things besides picking oranges and jumping borders. Apparently they can turn in a phenomenal film and astronomical-caliber performances on all fronts. The Crow: One phrase... "It can't rain all the time." Goodfellas: Because nothing beats Italians offing eachother over loyalty and airport heists to the music of Tony Bennett and Louis Prima. Oh yeah, did I mention it's based on a true story? Wonderful Days: For those who have seen it, I know you hate it and you can kiss my ass. This film is quite possibly the most beautifully animated film I've ever laid my eyes on. Sure it lacks a bit in story, but it more than makes up for it in style and is only matched in visuals by it's beautiful soundtrack. High Fidelity: One word... "Autobiographical" No... fucking way... If I missed any, my apologies. |
I've always picked Goodfellas over Casino as Scorsese's best gangster movie. My top 3 movies are:
Bad Boys The Fifth Element Shawshank Redemption I don't know if anyone has mentioned this movie, but Shawshank Redemption probably has some of the best narration in recent memory. |
I have watched Lost In Translation literally forty times, easily. I love that movie so much. In fact, I was getting ready to watch it last night but fell asleep with the case in my hand. My husband came into the room and said, "I think you have a problem." It was pretty hilarious.
|
Serenity - I'll admit it, I'm a complete whore for anything Firefly. While the movie isn't as good as the show, anytime I can watch Mal & Co. is fine with me.
Sprited Away - This is one of the most beautiful movies ever made. Everything about it is simply perfect. Iron Giant - Let's be honest. If you can get through the 'Superman' scene without crying, you truly have no soul. Star Wars trilogy - While the prequels are unwatchably bad, I can still watch the originals over and over. The Fisher King - Hilarious, over-the-top, and deeply moving, Fisher King is one of Robin William's best performances. Snatch - Just oozes cool. I finally broke down and bought it because I was wearing out Hollywood Video's copy. The Breakfast Club - This one probably has a lot to do with nostalgia, but I still think it has some of the best dialog this side of a Tarantino flick. |
oh, many films feature better screenplays than Tarantino fare. But then most people go for the swear-werd comboz dead nigger storage fucken
|
Outside of stuff thats obvious (Star Wars, etc)
The Way Of The Gun - All time favorite movie. Michael Collins Night Of The Hunter Runaway Train The Last Starfighter Empire Of The Sun Ran The Seven Samurai Emperor Of The North Brazil The Last Samurai Recent movies that I've really enjoyed that will probably make it into this rotation are Hulk, Wes Craven's New Nightmare, The Godfather Part II and Dune - though that last one is more because it's so bad, it's good. |
Office Space
I can't tell you how much I love that movie. It is one of my favorite movies. I am also going to toss in Nightmare Before Christmas because its so damn timeless. |
The Rock
Watched it at least 50 times. Just such an enjoyable movie containing phrases and quotes you'll never forget. My Sassy Girl A blend of comedy, drama, romance, like no other. |
the princess bride
mean girls amelie any m. night movie (i find something new and interesting about them every time) |
I'm a big fan of the Evil Dead series. "Groovy."
Once in a while I love to watch Clerks or Office Space, just to remind me that everyone out there hates their job. It doesn't matter if you are in Operations or Middle management, you're life sucks. I also love Blade Runner, Ghost In The Shell, and The Matrix (just the first installment) for the whole idea of "What defines a living being?". Not to mention the special effects never get old in my book. |
Two words: The Incredibles.
What else is there... Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Jaws; the usual Spielberg classics. |
Odd, I'm sure I posted here :-s Anyways, here goes again:
- The Talented Mr. Ripley! I could watch that movie a kazillion times and not grow tired of it. I love the acting, I love the setting and I LOVE the music. |
Big Trouble in Little China - I still watch this movie like...2~3 times a year.
Office Space Dumb Dumber Last Action Hero - Best Schwarzenegger movie. Ferris Bueller's Day Off |
Pulp Fiction
Drunken master 2 Ace Ventura 2 dumb and dumber as well ^_^ advent children the pixar films spiderman 1 & 2 So many movies I can't think of right now. I'll post them later |
Lets see here, we got:
Fivel goes west ~ clearly the best talking animal-combined-with-western movie ever made Fern Gully ~ I just love this movie, I must have seen it more times than any other movie. The Pest ~ Seriously, need I go in depth. Ferris Beullers (sp?) Day Off ~ I don't know what exactly I like about this film, but I like it. Maybe it's that deep "OOOOOOOOOH YEAAAAAH" song. Spaceballs ~ Just a great parody. The Octagon ~ "They weren't terrorists, they were ninja." Anchorman ~ Never laughed so hard in my life, and it's very quotable. Thats about it for now |
Serenity ~ I am a fan of Firefly, and thought that the film was good. It had lots of action and a good story to it. It was also good to see the "gang" back together again as well.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl ~ This is one of my all-time favourite films. It really is a good film, and manages to entertain me and keep me interested for the whole time that it is on for. Must watch this one again. Kill Bill Vol 2 ~ Good solid action film. I must have watched this a few too many times. But I still try to watch it at least once every 6 months. |
hmm....
City of Angels...I love that movie for its tragic ending. Good acting, some foodfor thought also. What Dreams May Come...with Robin Williams...quite endearing Kill Bill...nothing need be said |
Blues Brothers: Classic
Shawshank Redemption: One of the best movies of all time. Four Rooms: Funny, Great script and well acted, especially Tim Roth. |
Quote:
Home Alone 2: I never get tired to see how Marv electrocute himself in the basement. Schindler's list: Probably my favorite film. I've seen it soo many times and still makes me cry like a baby. |

Good topic!!!
Die Hard!!!!!!!!!!! (personal fave) Karate Kid (1-3. not the hilary swank bullcrap!!) Red Dawn (WOLVERINES!!!) The Outsiders The Apostle Armageddon (yes, the one w/Ben f'n Affleck). |
Only 2 movies so far:
Equilibrium and Bourne Identity. But I'd be lying if I didn't say The Matrix (the original). I watched it six times already (whenever I had the chance) and still never get tired. |
The two big ones for me are Office Spaces, and Clerks. I still have yet to get sick of either of them, and i've seen them each about 40 times. I love to laugh, and these two movies take totally bizarre, yet totally possible situations and make them real. I love it so much.
|
Shaun of the Dead, I don't care how many time I see that movie, I still love it.
Nightmare Before Christmas, I'm a big Tim Burton fan and this is my favourite move of his. Mononoke Hime, this was the first Miyazaki film I saw and I've seen it more then any other movie. I even like the English dub, which is very rare for me. |
Quote:
Oh yeah that movie is kinda easy to find if you don't mind purchasing it. I know I saw a copy at my local walmart sitting in the 5 dollar bin at one point. Maybe I should send it to you =p. |
Haha, I'm afraid it'd cost a bit more than 5 dollars if you have to send it all the way to Belgium :-p But you're right, maybe I should just buy it, might even be cheaper than renting it.
|
I'm in the middle of re-watching the Alien movies (just got me the Quadrology box) and of course there's always Star Wars and Indiana Jones, a bunch of comic book movies and mid-80s-early-90s action flicks and the occasional somewhat-outside-the-box film (like Silence of the Lambs and Fight Club).
Listing all the material I enjoy a lot would be next to impossible but this is what came to my mind first. |
here are some movies that i see over and over again:
Lost in translation The life aquatic with Steve Zissou Pulp Fiction Snatch Fight Club |
Quote:
I forgot to mention "Leon, the Professional". I can't get tired of seeing Gary Oldman's performance. Best villain hands down IMO. My favorite action film. |
Some movies I never tire of include Unbreakable, Young Frankenstein, Groundhog Day, and a few of the James Bond movies.

Way too many to name!
History of the World: Part I - Mel Brookes(SP?) is just a nut case. If you like Monty Python: Quest for the Holy Grail, then this should be right up your alley! Die Hard 3: With A Vengance - This is one of my top 5 movies of all time. Great action, memorable lines, and memorable scenes. The Fifth Element - *sigh* I miss old school Bruce Willis action flicks... Airplane - THE funniest movie of ALL TIME! Back to the Future Part 1 - Not as big of a fan of the other two, but this one is just a overall great flick, and it has freakin TIME TRAVEL MAN! |
Night of the Living Dead - The 1990 remake was amazing and I could watch it over and over again. George A. Romero's best one so far.
Dawn of the Dead - The 2004 remake, loved it. It made it into it's own independant plot though. 28 Days Later - I'm not sure why I can watch this movie more than once. Zombie movies just do it for me. Star Wars Trilogy - Episodes 4-6. Oh come on, it's a classic. Indiana Jones Trilogy - Enough said. The Goonies - YES batgnome! I was afraid no one would agree. Goldeneye - For some reason I can watch this James Bond more than once. |
Well, looking at this topic inspired me change my theme, so you can probably figure out one of them.
On another note, nobody's mentioned Ghostbusters or Who Framed Roger Rabbit yet? Well, then I shall. Animation-wise, I'll always make time for The Incredibles and Aladdin. Dash's Chase and the Snake Fight scenes from each, respectively, are two of my most favorite animated scenes ever. |
Die Hard and Die Hard: With A Vengeance
The Rock Terminator 2 Movies like these... action movies that usually appear on Superstation, TNT, and USA... I can NEVER get enough of. |
Quote:
My movies I can't get tired of: Braveheart Dumb and Dumber Airplane! Fight Club Fifth Element 13th Warrior Aliens Terminator Superman II Rocky IV Indy Full Metal Jacket (mainly that first 1/2 hour...heh) Gladiator Nightbreed No Escape Damn, I have to stop...too many movies I love |
Obvious stuff out of the way first. Hell is sometimes represented as the same horrific event happening over and over for eternity. If that's the case, heaven must have a giant drive in sized screen that plays The Princess Bride and nothing but The Princess Bride at all times. And Fight Club. Shut up.
Back to the Future Part II. Not the original, not the conclusion to the trilogy. Part II is where it's at. The Big Lebowski. My personal favorite comedy. I'll recite the lines before they're said and still laugh at the scene. The Dude dropping a smoke onto his lap and crashing into a dumpster with CCR blaring. Never gets old. The Royal Tenebaums. Great use of music, the whole thing has a romantic feeling to it, every shot filled with something to be fond of, a pet, a drawing, a wooden finger, a bright blue suit. Also, Alec Baldwin has a damned sexy voice. Adaptation. Crafts something brilliant out of a cop out subject that usually ends in disaster. Both of Cage's performances are top notch. Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I actually haven't seen this in years, but it was in heavy rotation on the family vcr growing up. The king sized bathtub fight with Francis, the pet shop on fire, Tequila, big plastic dinosaurs. <3 Vanilla Sky. It has Crowe's fingerprints all over it, the good and the bad, but it's ultimately very endearing. Tombstone. I said throw down boy. Rounders. It's like the expression says. In the poker game of life, women are the fuckin' rake. What the fuck are you talking about? What expression? I don't know man... There should be one. Quote:
|
Superman Returns - Hell yeah, I'd pay to watch it again.
Face Off - I always LOL@N.C. when he confuses his name in front of the mirror. Running out of time - short chinese movie but I love it Ocean's Eleven(2001) - That movie has a certain style to it so not a single minute of it is boring. True Lies - funny and good action. Arnald is a U.S. spy; what's not to love? umm... that's all I got for now. |

Class choice, man. :D |
I saw Titanic 17 times ._.;;, seriously if I still had the movie I'd be at 50 right now. Best damn love/tragedy story I ever saw.
Terminator 2 and Predator I'd keep watching and not get sick of it. Aliens, and perhaps even Star Trek: First Contact. |
besides the movie that were named already:
home alone 1&2 - every year I watch these 2 movies, innerspace - saw that movie like 100 times already, funny funny funny and well done blue thunder - cant get enough of this movie |
I can never get tired of "Fight Club." That movie alone defines my thoughts. I also can't get enough of "Star Wars," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Ghostbusters," "Adventures in Babysitting" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." All of these movies are special to me in one way or another and pinpoints nostalgic purposes.
My other five favourites that I never get tired of are "Fallen," "Identity," "Mulholland Dr," "Ghost in the Shell" and "Waking Life." The concepts are brilliant and puzzling. I love that stuff. It gives me the psychological tremors. Oh yeah, and "The Usual Suspects." |
Quote:
Office Space is another good one to watch again.. yeeeeahh.. XD |
I gotta add one more (my post was on the first page):
The Great Mouse Detective - What's not to like here? The music blows you away and it's one of so few Disney movies with a different style. It's pretty dark and scary as well (at least I was scared when I watched parts of it today). |
Its strange how only one person named Braveheart. That fricking movie should win an Oscar every year for it's awesomeness.

I have a pretty big list.
I have ALOT of movies I like and they are: 1. Super Mario Brothers: The Movie 2. Daffy Duck's Quackbusters (Warner Brothers) 3. Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island (Warner Brothers) 4. Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie (Nick) 5. The Wizard 6. Kronk's New Groove (Disney) 7. Emperor's New Groove (Disney) 8. Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas (Disney) 9. Brave Little Toaster (Disney) 10. Rugrats: The Movie (Nick) 11. Rugrats In Paris (Nick) 12. Robin Hood (Disney) ~~~~~~~~~~~~ :D |
Back to the Future - Part 2 is good. Part 3 is ok. Part one is amazing. I could watch it every day for the rest of my life and still not get tired.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - In all honesty, it's not even my favourite of the Askewniverse movies (that goes to Clerks 1/2). But it's so self aware tounge in cheek it's great. It's absurd, makes little sense, juvenille, and constantly winking at you from the screen. I love it. Raiders of the Lost Ark - Temple was good. Last Crusade was great. Raiders was the best. The Lion King - I'm a sucker for Disney, and it's the best thing they've ever done. Shame they put out nothing but crap after. Die Hard - The best action movie ever. I read about it in Ffforbes Terminator 2:Judgement Day - The second best action movie ever. Hello. Dickwad. Thats all I can think of right now, I'm sure I'll be back after I go over to my DVD collection and notice a huge group that I missed. |

All of the godfathers
8 mile Spongebob squarepants: the movie Get rich or die tryin' |
9. Brave Little Toaster (Disney)
|
The Seven Samurai, The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Conan The Barbarian, Scarface, Akira, Hard Boiled, Ran, Drunken Master, Prodigual Son, Blade Runner, Carlito's Way, The City Of God, Pirates, Sanjuro, Seppuku, Groundhog Day, Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Brazil,...
To name a few. I saw those movies so many times I can't count anymore. :( |
Rocky
Rambo Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Lion King Matrix Das Boot The Green Mile It's A Wonderful Life Sgt. York The Pianist That's all I remember at the moment.. I haven't watched any really good movies in a long time. |

Many people do not appreciate this film, or think that because it has Sting in it the film is too "campy." Although the film has a solid story (based off Frank Herbert's book), for me the film creates a strong mood, an atmosphere, that is totally unlike any other film made. Because of this, I can watch it over and over again, and it never gets old. "Walk without rhythm, and you won't attract the worm..." |
1. Amelie
2. Roman Holiday (audrey hepburn!) 3. To Kill a Mockingbird 4. High Fidelity 5. I Heart Huckabees 6. The Breakfast Club 7. Anastasia 8. Any Pixar Film except for Cars 9. Sense and Sensiblity 10. Mansfield Park Those are some of my favorite movies.... |
Men In Black - Not on my favorite movies of all time top, but whenever I catch it on TV I can't help but watching it. MIB-II didn't appealed to me when I watched in theaters, but then I gain I re watched it on TV and I couldn't help but love them.
Y Tu Mama Tambien - I NEVER get tired of this movie, I like it in so many levels. It usually plays in the background during my toking sessions ^^ |
Interview with the Vampire. Every few weeks I feel the urge to load this DVD and watch this awesome movie.
Seven. Sadly -no, tragically- I still don't own this one on DVD, but I just have to take the time to watch it everytime it's on TV. The Crow. In my opinion, the very best comic-to-movie adaptation ever made. Hot Shots 2. Funny every damn time. The Matrix. Couldn't say anything new about this one. Easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. Hellraiser II: Hellbound. My favorite 80s horror movie. |
Halloween - I can watch this any time of year and still enjoy it.
Halloween II - While obviously subpar compared to the original, it has one of my favorite dialog exchanges in movie history. "Is this some kind of trick? I've been trick or treated to death tonight." "You don't know what death is!" Sam Loomis is my hero. Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Meyers - Alot of people who love these movies, hate this one, but for some reason I'm oddly drawn to it. Adding the whole mysticism into the franchise was a cool move, that was sadly dropped once Jamie Lee signed on to do the seventh..still Paul Rudd in his first movie. The Monster Squad - I've seen Goonies and other eighties movies on these lists..how is it that no one enjoys this classic? A bunch of kids fighting off Dracula, The Wolfman(Wolfman's got nards!), The Creature, and The Mummy..set to an 80's soundtrack..brilliant I say. They Live - Classic B movie starring Rowdy Roddy Piper..I never get tired of this movie. Judgement Night - Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Stephen Dorph, and Dennis Leary..in one movie. Maximum Overdrive - Speaking of Emilio..one of my favorite b movies ever. Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy - Its like its 78 degrees in your head, all the time. I agree with most of the movies listed so far by everyone..great lists. |
i think for me would be cast away.
|
Rocky I (NOT Rocky V) - I've been slightly obsessed with this movie for nearly 3 years.. I just love it.
The Pianist - One of my favorites.. I really don't know why I like it so much. The Green Mile - This movie makes me slightly depressed, but it's totally worth it in the end. Band Of Brothers - Technically this wouldn't count as a movie, but it's awesome anyway. Howl's Moving Castle - There are no words to express how much I loved this. Really.. none. Aliens - Nothing needs to be said. It's A Wonderful Life - It gives me the warm fuzzies at Christmas time.. Help! - Random plot and the Beatles.. What more could you ask for?! =) |
I think I have way too many to list but here it goes:
Hook Mystery Men Bicentennial Man What Dreams May Come T2 Phone Booth Anything associated with the Blue Collar Comedy Group Tommy Boy Oceans 11 & 12 ID4 Wedding Crashers Harold and Kumar go to White Castle Pirates of the Caribbean Man in the Iron Mask Demolition Man Mouse Hunt National Treasure Mortal Kombat Home Alone 1 & 2 Major League 1&2 Hitch 40 year old virgin spaceballs Fahrenheit 9/11 Beverly Hills Cop 3 Heavyweights day after tomorrow Dogma Ace Ventura 1&2 City Slickers 1&2 Jurassic Park TMNT 1&2 Evolution MIB Rush Hour 1&2 Matrix (Depends) Blade (Mostly 1 & 2) Constantine Back to the Future 2 And that about it that I can remember |
I never get tired of watching Weird Science when it comes on comedy central. Great movie, great memories.
|
I watch 'Withnail & I' at least once a month, and I've yet to get bored of 'Chinatown'.
|
Alien & Aliens
Indiana Jones trilogy Blade Runner Ghost in the Shell Conan the Barbarian Predator Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door The Bourne Identity T2: Judgement Day Die Hard trilogy The Matrix( first one ) Ninja Scroll |
Monty Pythong and the Holy Grail
Enemy at the Gates :D |
It would be "The Replacements" it was one of the best movies i saw that i never got tired of, same with Oceans Eleven.
There are something with those movie that feels fresh everytime you see it |
Stand By Me
The Sandlot Fox and the Hound (childhood favorite) The Last Unicorn (same, but I read the book and still like it.) Fifth Element Baseketball (I must admit, I think I'm sick of it now....) Happy Gilmore (always funny for me.) Goldeneye The Quest (I don't remember much about this... but it's cool.) |
My list is fairly horrible.
- Moulin Rouge - Die Hard - Back to the Future Trilogy - LotR 2 and 3. - Harry Potter 3 and 4 - Office Space - Equilibrium - Mallrats - The Big Lebowski |
- Dogma - One film I can watch countless times.
- Disney films - Good for re-watching too. - X-Men III - I aquired it from a certain "cough" torrent "cough cough" and watch it all the time, just for the total fanboy heaven! - Advent Children - I wanna live in the Final Fantasy VII world ; ; - Moulin Rouge - So many emotions in one film. - Fifth Element - I dont know anyone who doesnt like this film. - LOTR Trilogy - By the time you get to the end its been around 7 years since you watched the first so you can start again! - Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe - Absolutley beautiful film, stunning scenery, amazing soundtrack, and great effects, makes for great replay value. - Bring It On! - Im gay for starters, so that might explain a few things (but im not camp at all), and I love this film, its edgy, energetic, and funny, and has some cool music. - Harry Potter series - Always pushes me to start reading the books again, and once I reach the end of the book, I wanna watch the films again. - Kill Bill I + II - Just awesome films Oh yeah, Dodgeball and Anchorman! Absolutely hilarious! |
Back To The Future Trilogy - I have watched each one of them over 20 times each, and I love each one everytime! I own them on DVD and sometimes watch them when I am bored.
Shrek - Watched it about 18 times, and still love it! |
The Sawshank Redemption
Behind Enemy Lines Indiana Jones Trilogy October Sky Anything Hayoa Miyuzaki (I think I spelled that right) The Legend of Bagger Vance My knew love and addiction of films is "The Producers". |
My cousin and I seen the Little Mermaid at least 40 times when we where kids and we never got tired of it. I bet it was annoying my aunt and uncle for a while thought ^_^
|
I usually count how many times I've seen movies that I know I'm going to see lots, for instance...
(1)The Matrix - 31 times (2)Galaxy Quest - 14 times(it was a tradition for a few years at New Years, lol) (3)Equilibrium - 8 times (4)LOTR trilogy/Matrix Reloaded/Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade/Monty Python's the Search for the Holy Grail/countless others - at least 6 times... some I haven't counted include Office Space, I've seen that a few times, also Princess Mononoke, Final Fantasy: Advent Children, seen that one 5 times in the last month!, etc... |
hmm let's see here...
ocean's 11. there's always some new little thing when you watch it again. shawshank redemption. simply amazing. orange county starsky and hutch. owen wilson and ben stiller are the perfect match. monty python and the holy grail. the master parodied movie of all time. inside man |
Hmm, it's quite a long list and I might be missing a few but this is what I can recall:
-Most Disney movies, especially the Lion King -Vanilla Sky -A Beautiful Mind -Withnail and I -Apocalypse Now -Nightmare Before Christmas -Fight Club -The Truman Show -Dead Babies -Interview with the Vampire I actually watched the first LOTR movie so many times when it first came out I lost count, and I could sit there and mime the whole movie. In fact at one point I could have probably read the script word for word without the film being played >.< That's why I don't watch it so much these days. *edits* Porco Rosso |
Office Space - watched many, many times. Still cry for Milton's Red Swingline every time.
The Matrix Trilogy - Had to watch until I understood, then had to keep watching. The Transporter - One of the few who saw the movie in theatres, and still love it to this day. Kinsey - Best documentary ever. Underworld - Favourite vampire movie ever, even if it doesn't follow the normal scheme of a vampire movie. |

Documentary/Biography. It was a complete and accurate re-telling of Alfred Kinsey's life and research.

Oh. Wow....
I like a lot of animated movies, and a few of the ones I don't get tired of watching are: FFVII--Advent Children. I even sat my mom down to watch this movie. She actually enjoyed it--although she's never played the game. But she did say this: "Is that the guy that has the big sword on the cover of the game?" All right, mom! I like watching it because of the sword fights...I admit it. If you sit me in front of a sword battle--I'd watch for days. Speaking of swords: Inuyasha--Swords of an Honorable Ruler Okay. I like Inuyasha. Preferably Japanese-voiced Inuyasha, but English dubbed is okay. Like many of the episodes, it has a good mix of comedy and drama, although some of the story is a BIT contrived, it does leave you questioning Sesshomaru's actions. Another movie I've always enjoyed watching is... My Fair Lady. It's a musical, and for a few hours, I can lose myself in a musical version of Shaw's "Pygmalion." ANd, that's all it really is: an escape from reality. |
Well, some that pop into my head are
The Goonies Clerks Ginger Snaps Better Off Dead Clue The Iron Giant The Princess Bride Saving Private Ryan Office Space The Fifth Element A League of Their Own The Emperor's New Groove Lilo & Stitch Miss Congeniality (:x) Practical Magic Ummm, I'm sure there are tons more, especially in the Disney movie collection. But I'll stop here. |
House of flying daggers. the story is stupid but the cinematography is so brilliant and stunning
|
I never get tired of Chicago, Finding Neverland, or absolutely any movie with Madeline Kahn in it!
|
- Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain: I've had a craving to see that film again lately, but my former roommate/my sister took her copy home with her so I'm stranded...T_T One of my favorite films ever.
- anything from the Pixar studios: they're fricking geniuses of...everything, it seems, over there - Tonari no Totoro/Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi/Mononoke Hime: Miyzaki's a fricking genius in his own right. Plus him + Joe Hisaishi is just so much brilliance in one setting. - any of the Alan Menken/Howard Ashman scored Disney films including Aladdin: Regardless of how cheesy the movie is, the music keeps me happy and alive and attentive and I never get sick of hearing those songs... - The Nightmare Before Christmas: It's just fantastic in every way. - Back to the Future trilogy: I actually only saw the entire trilogy within the last year and loved how cutely they connected everything. It's just a fun set of films... - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: Harrison Ford and Sean Connery in a smart adventure with some damn good writing...how can you go wrong? - The Empire Strikes Back: I can't really tell you why this is the best SW movie of them all...I just kinda felt it. It's a really well made film with some of the arguably greatest dramatic moments in film. - Love Actually: Too cute to resist. There are so many little moments to watch over and over... - Serenity: see above. - Big Fish : I have yet to see this movie without crying. Tim Burton + Danny Elfman == pure (amazing) evil. - The Emperor's New Groove: if only for the cat... I was sad that this movie had such a terrible title and marketing/publicity for how surprisingly entertaining the film really was. - SpiderMan movies/Hellboy: Great directing, acting, writing, production...wonderful stuff recent films that I saw recently that haven't quite left my head and may join that list above someday: - A Prarie Home Companion: I am in love with pretty much all things Garrison Keillor - Brick: After watching this film, the only thought I had was "that was brilliant." And then I hated the very last "plot twist" they stuck on, but it wasn't enough to kill the initial feeling of amazement. I'm not sure if this, of the next film, I'll ever be able to stop watching. Sometimes, for me, pure drama films are a little harder to keep watching over and over... - Half Nelson: Beautiful acting, production, directing, and music. Slow paced, but it leave you with such a heartbreaking feeling... - District B13: For all its cheesiness and flimsy plotline, I really can't understand why I like this film as much as I do. It's fun. |

Grandma's Boy is the one movie i could watch over and over. Some Kevin Smith movies: Clerks, Mallrats, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Some Jackie Chan movies: Rush Hour 1 & 2, Shanghai Noon/Knights. (so far the only one i didn't like was Opperation: Condor) Also, Bullettproof Monk is one of my new favorite movies. Silverhawk and Memoirs of a Geisha |
I could watch Zoolander on loop for weeks. I don't know what it is, but that shit cracks me up every time I see it.
|
The Bourne Identity. Watched this for about 5 times already (the same with the original Matrix) and still love it to death due to the character having all these weaknesses that he has to deal with and not much super gadgetry in his line of work.

hedwig and the angry inch
what a goddamn great movie. so, it's a musical, but it's not hokey. it's self aware in a way that lets it play with music, but it's also decidedly punk-rock inspired, so it's not any voice-accompanied-by-piano type music. also, it's also one of the smartest movies i've ever watched - it has as many layers as a good novel, which makes you (me) go back for more. (le fabuleux destin d')amelie (poulain) what can i say, but damn this movie makes me feel good mean girls ok, so this isn't exactly oscar-worthy acting, but the script is actually really pretty smart while maintaining a lot of dumb-yet-funny character. |
'Amelie/Delicatessen' are so imaginative.
'The Princess Bride' - I watch it every single time I don't feel well... it's the perfect medicine! 'Wonder Boys' for its magnificent script. 'Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit' makes me happy. It really is that simple. 'A Fish called Wanda' doesn't need a reason to be on this list. |
Horror: Halloween series (excluding part 3, which sucked)
Comedy: anything with the 3 stooges Drama: the godfather series Action/Fantasy: the Lord of the rings trilogy anime: anything by Hayao Miyazaki Sports: any of the WWE wrestlemanias |
Movies I never get tired of
Monthy Python and the Holy Grail
A Knights Tale The 40 Year Old Virgin |
Rocky - A fantastic soundtrack, and fantastic acting to match. I watched this for about the 50th time last weekend, and I probably will watch it again at least twice before the end of the year.
Rocky II - The same reasons as the first. Everything in this movie just seems right. In other words, it's the perfect sequel to an amazing film. Die Hard - I could remember most of this movie when I was 7 years old. Action from start to finish. Jurassic Park - One of the first movies I ever saw. Simply breathtaking then, simply breathtaking now. Terminator 2 - Judgment Day - Another one of those movies that I could remember most of the dialogue from, and still can. Has some of the most amazing sound and visual effects I have ever seen. The cast was perfect too. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robert Patrick contrasted each other perfectly, and the relationship between Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong was perfect as Sarah and John Connor. Dumb and Dumber - So stupid it's hilarious. I never get tired of watching Harry and Lloyd fail at everything, yet still come out on top. And who can forget the cop and the beer bottle of piss.... |
I can't get tired of Transformers - The Movie (1986)
|
- Die Hard seems like a popular choice, and I'd have to agree with it. Awesome awesome movie.
- Terminator 2 as well, it has to be another staple that just doesn't seem to age over the years. Here are a couple of picks I haven't seen: - True Lies is Arnold at his best. - Predator is another top dollar Arnold film. Lots of memorable lines, and a very cool chain gun. - Aliens is still great after all these years. That scene where the cyborg plays the knife game still freaks me out. - Happy Gilmore always makes me laugh. - Evil Dead Army of Darkness that last scene with the she-bitch is something I can watch all day. - Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is another one of my favorite comedies that just doesn't get old. - Demolition Man is probably my favorite Sylvester Stallone film. Completely over the top, but it works. - Robocop feels a bit dated these days, but I still love it. - The Rock has to be another one of those films you can keep re-watching over and over. Sean Connery is uber cool in it. I'd also say Con Air, because I loved John Malkovich's performance but I know a ton of people hated that one. - Scarface has got to be somewhere on the list. - Lastly, I'd have to add Heat. Its robbery scenes have been imitated so many times now I've lost count. |
Action: Terminator 2
Adventures: Indiana Jones 1 & 3 (Temple of doom is a f*cking crap) |

Terminator 2 definitely for me. I used to watch it on a daily basis and never grew bored of it.
