Doujin Game Master List
Since I've stumbled upon quite a few of some really wonderfully made fan games over the last few day I was compelled to compile them into a single thread. Note that this isn't like the Fan Made PC Games thread, as I'm not asking for favourites. Here is the current list followed with semi-detailed descriptions and screenshots. Obviously, I can't have every single doujin game ever made, but here's a start to some really good ones. Post any finding of your own likewise:
Sorry I can't seem to printscreen the games that automatically run only in full screen. They're all pretty good though. NOTE: MUGEN is covered in the Official MUGEN thread, not here. __________ Legend for below list --- *: You probably haven't seen this since your last visit to this thread. In other words, NEW. (!): My cream-of-the-crop recommendations ;) (D): Demo version only :( so far... Linked: It's in this first post. White: It's somewhere on this first page Red: It's in the 26th post (top of second page, assuming you have the 25 posts per page default), or if I haven't gotten to it yet, somewhere on the second/third page. __________ Misc. --- -thanks to Burp for his Doujin sharing thread and fast links to certain doujin games :) -thanks to NoWittyComment for linking to the groups who made it possible for the doujin to exist. Right here. __________ The List --- Akatsuki * Arm Joe Azu Fighter Cave Story (!) Dogma Drill Milky Punch Duo Princess Embodiment of Scarlet Devil Eternal Fighter Zero (!) Fatal Fake Fighters Kyodotai Gochamaze no Arashi Hinokakera ~ Fragments of Innocent Sinner Ika-chan Imperishable Night Magical Feeling 2 * Mega Mari (!) Melon Squash (D) Melty Blood ReAct Final Tuned (!) Mind Arms Perfect Cherry Blossom Phantasmagoria of Flower View Super Cosplay War Ultra (!) Super Mario XP Super Marisa Land Tifa Tan X1/X2 Touhou ~ Immaterial and Missing Power Valkyrie Fight Tag Variable Geo Max __________ Requests --- Fate Hollow Ataraxia (?) Line-Kill Spirits Melon Squash (Full Version) Party's Breaker Queen of Spades + top quality non-Japan doujin __________ Arm Joe --- The infamous Les Miserables fighting game. Fight as your favourite characters straight from the play such as Cosette, Valjean, and La Policier. Features wacky attacks and no semblance of character balance. Strictly for fun.Dogma --- A surprisingly nice doujin fighting game, despite being incomplete. Only one stage and song, but well done special moves and fighting system.Eternal Fighter Zero --- Hard to find doujin fighter (since it's already for sale in Japan) featuring cute chibi girls whacking each other with neat and clever attacks. Most characters have a special and unique meter applicable to their moves. You can snag the latest version on Hongfire as well.Fatal Fake --- Fighting game based off of the popular anime series Fate/Stay Night. Fight as any of the seven servants rendered in 3D. Caster, Archer, Saber, Berserker, Lancer, Rider, and Assassin all come together to fight for the holy grail. Fighters Kyodotai --- Another fighting game strictly for fun by Alicuu, makers of Super Cosplay War Ultra. Features more wacky character designs including Eggles the robot, and Suneo the flame wielder. Character balance? I don't think so. Fun? I do think so.Hinokakera ~ Fragments of Innocent Sinner --- Very neat 3d fighting game featuring the brake gauge system (think roman cancel from the Guilty Gear series) and 8 characters. Heavy, heavy damage scaling, and usage of EX moves.Mega Mari --- Obscenely tough megaman clone that has cute chibi girls as the bosses and another chibi girl replacing Megaman in the protagonist's role. You can actually switch between one girl who fires normal pellet shots, and the other who fires a laser.Melty Blood ReAct Final Tuned --- Crazy nice fighting game that has now become licensed stuff in Japan for sale along with updates to the original (React Final Tuned is the latest I believe). This game is linked with Tsukihime since the anime series sprang up after the game was made(?).Super Cosplay War Ultra --- Excellent fighting game from Alicuu, makers of Fighters Kyodotai. Features an incredibly easy to learn combo system akin to Pocket Fighter plus detailed and constantly changing attacks.Super Mario XP --- A neat cross between Super Mario platforming and Castlevania platforming. Hearts replace coins and have a much more practical application to your special attacks. As always, the princess has been stolen away by the bad guy. Touhou ~ Immaterial and Missing Power --- Unusual fighting game with a heavy emphasis on projectile attacks. Typical shooter bullet-dodging applies here as each girl has spread sttacks, bombs, as well as a couple of standard fighting moves. Add spell cards into the mix and we have one of the most unique doujin fighters out there.Valkyrie Fight Tag --- Based off of the wildly popular RPG, Valkyrie Profile, Valkyrie Fight Tag lets you pit your favourite Valkyrie Profile characters against each other in 2 on 2 team battles. Complete with PWS attacks, crystals, and hidden characters!Variable Geo Max --- A cute fighting game with all girls duking it out against each other with an array of standard attacks. WARNING: Hentai cutscenes in 1p, may disable in options. |
Providing information on where one could find these games would be pretty nice.
|
I knew I forgot something important! All fixed with links.
|
More like a doujin fighting game master list. :P
I've been playing Super Mario XP recently. It's Mario crossed with Castlevania, with amusing results. :) |
Hehe, I considered that, but threw Mega Mari in there to be able to make the general statement. Feel free to elaborate more on Super Mario XP. Those screenshots look pretty interesting. I'll do it, if you don't want to ;)
|
Arm Joe is pretty much the coolest thing I've seen 2006.
It'd be cool if I could actually figure out any moves beyond strong punch and strong kick, though. :( |
Omg thanks for providing the links, =D i like the valkyrie fight and hrmm i remember seeing that game where little girls do a gundam costume, i would want to know where they got that?
|
Nice job with the list! I don't recall seeing some of them, but they look really well done for fan made games. One thing I'm not sure about is whether Melty Blood is a game of this sort, since I do recall someone saying that.
|
Of all those fan made games. I'd say Super Cosplay War Ultra is the best one so far. With Fatal Fake being 2nd.
There is this other 2d fan-fighter called Akatsuki. I like it but its too plain with a few characters that aren't too interesting. the music is alright at least . Well...for Melty Blood.. I guess Type-Moon can't be called Fan-made anymore since both stories/games became an anime. |
Don't forget the shanghai alice shooters.
* TH06 東方紅魔郷 ~ Embodiment of Scarlet Devil * TH07 東方妖々夢 ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom * TH08 東方永夜抄 ~ Imperishable Night * TH09 東方花映塚 ~ Phantasmagoria of Flower View Torrents of the entire games are somewhere in hongfire. |
wow I never knew there was some fan made 2d fighting game XD at least not as good as those one ^^
god i'm having so much fin with Valkyrie Fight Tag!!! (<3 Freya) and yeah super cosplay war ultra seem the best in the 2d fighting game, but I tend to prefer VFT just for the character and all those super move I love it XD |

Yeah those games get addicting easy. I'm off to play Melty Blood finally and will post screencaps if possible.
In the meantime, desperately looking for: Eternal Fighter Zero Party's Breaker Queen of Spades I'll put up soon: Destruction Desire (if it works on my comp) Little Fighter 2 Mind Arms as well as update the list with more info on the aforementioned titles. Keep your eyes peeled, there's lots more doujin goodness to come :D |
Woo Melty Blood! That's the only one I played, outside of Super Cosplay War Ultra which is awesome.
Thanks for the list, dude, I'll definitely check some of these out when I have some more time. That Megaman clone with chibi maids looks strangely alluring... |
I used to play a Doujin game with "Blue Moon" in the name. With "Blue Moon" in the name, it was the expansion. Anyone have an idea what it is?
|
That's Eternal Fighter Zero: Blue Moon Edition.
|
Sorry, but the final fight with Valkyrie in the Tag Fight is much harder than I expected.
Also lollin' since I forgot their SUPERS. For damn shame! |
Valkyrie? Oh man, I kept dying at Loki and his unblockable shining light move!
Looks like quite a few people are enjoying Valkyrie Fight Tag. Also looking for: Ragnarok Battle (?) |
Ragnarok Battle Offline. There's a torrent of it here but I haven't tried it.
Hm, I don't know where this game went. I used to have it on my computer but mysteriously it's vanished. |
If you're planning to talk about doujin games at all, Kenta Cho's works are an absolute must. Fantastic games, all free, all fun. Torus Trooper comes especially recommended (though rRootage remains my personal favorite).
Another must play are the Tifa Tan X games. X1 is a one joke parody of the classic Arcade/NES game Kung Fu, where you control a Tifa sprite and need to fight off attacking molesters as they try to grab on to her and pull of her clothing. http://myy.helia.fi/~a0400729/Pics/TifatanX.jpg http://rapidshare.de/files/3554767/tifa_tan_x.zip.html (not sure how long this rapidshare will stay up) You can do simple combos and a few supplex moves, but overal the controls are just as clunky as in the original arcade title. The game gets extremely difficult quickly too, but still good fun. X2 is similar to the first game, but is now more of a fully formed game. Graphics and controls are improved greatly, you have a large amount of combos and special moves to perform and there's a multitude of different difficulties and play modes to add replay value. Boss fights are especially humorous, as you get cameos from other games such as King of Fighters' Mai and Athena, Lilith from Darkstalkers and Red Mage from Final Fantasy. http://myy.helia.fi/~a0400729/Pics/TifatanX2.jpg http://rapidshare.de/files/3116394/TifaTanX2.rar.html X2 is obviously the better game here (in fact it's an extremely great game), but X1 is recommended playing to better appreciate the "joke" and what improvements 2 has. X1 is a lot more difficult, which is probably why I enjoyed 2 even more. Then there's of course the more difficult game modes in 2 if you feel it's too easy. Highly recommended, but being h-doujin games, there's quite a bit of nudity in there, in case you're offended by something like that. Mostly in the cutscene CGs after each defeated boss and in the game over screen. |
Does anyone know a better place to download Valkyrie Fight? The stupid fucking spam site they make me go take a survey at refuses to let me register.
Or hey, if someone knows what the five blanks after "20-inch" are for the password, that'd be cool too. |
damn I followed this stupid urvey for almost nothing, the 2 words that you have to enter to download it are "log out" >_<

There should be a torrent for Eternal Fighter ZERO ~MEMORIAL~ on hongfire somewhere. I know I saw it a few weeks ago.
|
I'm trying to download the Valkyrie Profile game, and I choose the Real Arcade Sponsor but I can't find the "3 words that are hidden by the red bar".
Can I get some help please ! EDIT: I started downloading the Valkyrie Fight Tag on emule. I belive it will finish in a couple hours, when I'm done getting it if anyone else wants it, I'll upload it on yousendit or something. I couldn't download on any of the 2 sponsors site. |
Note: Uh, if you guys are having excessive trouble, then I'll try to sendspace a zip file or something. Sorry about that, just lazy to upload, and I couldn't find anywhere else to get it from.
_____ List Continued (only the Red entries of the first post): --- Akatsuki * Azu Fighter Cave Story Drill Milky Punch Duo Princess Gochamaze no Arashi Ika-Chan Magical Feeling 2 * Melon Squash (D) Mind Arms Super Marisa Land _____ Akatsuki --- A fighting game with a number of characters you can count on one hand, it's actually well animated and loads quickly. The super bar takes quite a while to build up in this game.Azu Fighter --- A fighting game based off of the anime series "Azumanga Daioh." Fight as all your favourite girls including Osaka-chan and Chiyo-chan in this wacky beat-em-up. Secret characters anyone?Cave Story --- An awesome and free platformer involving a robot with lost memories. Together with the help of some friendly companions, you fight to discover the secrets of the island and liberate the Mimiga race from the evil Doctor. Many challenging bosses, hidden secrets and metroidesque gameplay.Drill Milky Punch --- This is quite an elaborate spin-off that seems to be inspired by the Smash TV series. Well not very complex, but visually vibrant. One button smacks your foes away from you into other foes, while the other button stuns your foes. Do all this while avoiding the mass onslaught of incoming cuties! Be warned, it may be easy at first, but the enemies come in massive swarms the longer you play!Duo Princess --- A fan game based on Dewprism/Threads of Fate. A beat-'em-up action rpg, distantly styled in Ragnarok Online fashion, only without the obssessive online element. It'll take 2-3 hours to complete in one sitting (with a friend). Acquire new magic spells and face bosses spread out over approximately 5 (long) stages.Gochamaze no Arashi --- A shooter with references to Guilty Gear and Digi Charat. Pick yor kawaii girl (Bridget excepted), and blast your way through this Progear no Arashi clone. You can work through it honestly or pick a stage in the invincible mode. Warning! Not for the novice, as bullet patterns are fast and insane in this game!Ika-Chan --- Done by Pixel (of Cave Story fame), you control a little squid in a quest to save the ocean. This rather short adventure (can be finished within an hour) is ideal for a quick one-time venture.Magical Feeling 2 --- A very tricky puzzle game of the falling block variety. You and your opponent share the pool of blocks to be dropped next, so you can't really plan your next moves unless you are really fast. Special diamond blocks help you clear junk music notes if cleared in proximity of chains. Special diamond block formations can nullify squares/rows of muysic notes completely, rendering them permanently useless. You can also cast super spells periodically which range in effects, such as speeding up your opponent's drop rate, or arbitrarily dropping their pieces randomly. That's all I managed to figure out on my own, aside from that, you're on your own in figuring out the system.Melon Squash --- So far, it's a maid on a scooter in a shoot-em-up pitted against some ridiculous enemies. Be warned!Mind Arms --- If you're in the mood for a quick and not excessively complex fighting game, Mind Arms has 5 + 1 characters, and your standard special/super system. Just another neat fighting game for the fray.Super Marisa Land --- Yet another version of Super Mario World, but this time with touhou characters. By the makers of Mega Mari and Touhou. |
I found the torrent relating to EFZ Memorial , it seems to have some seeders. I'll try to seed it for all eternity or something like that (along with Touhou if anyone wants that)

Ah yes, there was only one more game in addition all these others I had desperately wanted to check out sometime.
I saw my friend play this Azumanga Daioh fighter, but it ran really slowly on his computer so I don't even remember the name of it from lack of exposure. Uh, Little Fighter 2, and Mind Arms definitely coming up soon (on this page, since I forgot that the front page might take forever to load for dialup users :() Out of all the fighting games, I highly recommend EFZ Memorial now. 24 characters plus a professional feel to the systems with chibi girl designs, you'll be busy for quite a while with it, just like me! |
Quote:
EDIT: And here's the rapidshare: http://rapidshare.de/files/25858844/TifaTanX2.rar.html |
I'm steadily downloading EFZMemorial ~ 21kb/s. When it's done, I'll leave it seeded + provide a rapidshare link for it.

I would also like a link to the VP game, as well as a link to download Super Cosplay War Ultra (the available link doesn't work).
This is a nice list, as I'm always a sucker for fan-made (and free) games. Sure, there's a ton of crap out there, but when it works, it works good. Case in point, Super Demo World. http://fusoya.panicus.org/lm/dw.html It's a real challenge, but it's also real good fun. The stuff they've thought up in these levels is utterly insane, but you feel all the more superior if you manage to pull it off. I'd like to see more US-made fangames, if they're quality enough to warrant a link. I'd like to see more Megaman-themed games. I also remember an EGM article that had a list of fan-made games like Halo 2D, Metroid Prime 2D, and original Zelda levels that were ripped from games like Super Metroid. Also, which of the previously listed games require a graphics card of any kind? |
Well that's odd. I think http://go.to/alicuu goes down randomly like that sometimes but I'll upload it somewhere anyways if you still have trouble getting it. Alternatively, check if http://caiman.us has it avalable still.
When I get back tonight I'll up VFT and SCWU assuming my connection doesn't randomly disconnect me anymore. If you can't wait until later, then if someone else would be so kind as to up their copy it would be much appreciated. As you can see I'll spill over the rest of the games in the 26th post which is at the top of this page, so as not to make the load time for the first page overkill. |
Oh yeah, another question. Do any of these games support using a gamepad? I wouldn't want to try any of the fighting games unless I can use my PS2 controller hooked up through the USB adaptor.
|
Many of them seem to default to gamepad controls - PAD:0, PAD:1, PAD:2 etc. are the default button layouts. Good luck being able to configure them though. Some games have unchangeable controls (VG Max), while for others you'll have to figure out a way to map the buttons yourself (VFT). Many of them encourage you to use a gamepad though, just check the configs.

So does Cave Story. Come to think of it, has Cave Story even been mentioned? Good god man, everyone must play! http://www.gameflaws.com/cavestory/ Cave Story, or Doukutsu Monogatari, is a wonderful platform shooter from Studio Pixel, a one-man developer who designed, coded and scored the whole game. It quickly became a deserved cult classic on the net, and eventually was fan-translated into english by AGTP. A relatively simple action game with heaps of charm on the face of it, the game hides surprising amounts of depth, with wonderful character designs, multiple ingenius weapons with a solid power up system, a great and touching storyline, three different endings, secrets galore and a healthy dose of actual challenge. The game is really tough, especially if you want the best ending. Tough, but always fun, always utterly endearing. Absolutely crucial to any game fan and an amazing experience. |
I don't think Cave Story is a doujin.
All of the material in the game is original including characters, plot, story, and style (somewhat, although it does resemble some games). Apparently doujins are "refering to manga and novels" according to here. Since the game is an stand-alone title, and isn't based off anything such as a previously published game or style, it isn't following anyone's footsteps. In other words, it doesn't revolve around something, isn't based off a game/novel/JAPANESE COMIC :< And since there's (apparently) going to be a PSP release of Cave Story, it definitely won't be a doujin. But then again, how many doujins have been made into actual console games? |
Well, by definition Doujinshi ( 同人誌 ) roughly means a group publication. It doesn't really have to base itself off anything. Its just that people often find it easier to work with (and promote) certain type of source material when doing -zines.
|
That's quite a bit of hype in the Cave Story page. I downloaded the express version (which reportedly has the game already translated in english, so that should save me some fuss), which I'll try later.
I'd like to see more doujin games that take existing characters out of their environment and put them in a whole other game. That Mario-in-Castlevania game looks intriguing, but I'd like to see others like it. How about a game where Mega Man X takes on the Robot Masters from the original MM series (or heck, vice versa)? In any case, I remember playing a DBZ doujin game in my college's game room a few years back. I believe it was called Mugen Z or something, and it was done with the Mugen program (which I could never figure out on my own) and used the Marvel vs Capcom engine for the gameplay. The result was a very flashy DBZ version of MvC, but it was also very unbalanced, due to some original characters (Super Saiyan 4 Broli, namely) that made things absolutely ridiculous, even by DBZ standards. Still, it was a fun game, and I would love it if there were more Doujin games using the MvC style of play. |

That link you provided didn't have Super Cosplay Ultra (or I couldn't find it), but I did manage to find that DBZ game I mentioned before.
http://www.caiman.us/scripts/fw/f1951.html It's fanfiction-tastic, even with the poor grammer (and now I know, it was German made). The link says you can play it without installing it, so I'm downloading it now. And here's something even more absurdely hilarious: Street Fighter vs DBZ. http://www.caiman.us/scripts/fw/f1590.html This is the kind of doujin games I want to see; a mish-mash of two or more existing games rolled into one, with insane results (heh, giant Ken). Unfortunately, they say it won't work for Windows XP, only older systems like Win98. If someone ever finds a working version for XP, by all means link it. And another intriguing game, a Mega Man fighter. http://www.caiman.us/scripts/fw/f1904.html Double Post: I haven't been able to get the DBZ game running (something to do with lowering my screen to a resolution it doesn't support), but since I hit the subject of MUGEN, I did a little searching via Youtube. Goddam, we can't have a doujin thread and not talk about this thing. It's utterly insane what you're able to do with Mugen, as these ridiculous/awesome/ridiculously awesome videos prove. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q6xjtsqen5Q&search=mugen (anyone know what song that is? just the title alone doesn't help). http://youtube.com/watch?v=HXqm3KKyw...d&search=mugen http://youtube.com/watch?v=jNNwiiv21...=mugen%20homer http://youtube.com/watch?v=byPneFm2B...=mugen%20homer (who the hell is he fighting?) http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZvUnfQecV...d&search=mugen I still can't stop laughing over some of these. Anything that lets you create battles as impossibly ludicrious like Broli vs Duck Dodgers is full of win and love (and crack). So I found a Windows hack of MUGEN that was bare bones, but was working for me. http://unofficial-winmugen.jpn.org/ Of course now I have several questions. How do I set it to fullscreen, if that's possible? How do I add songs played during the matches (the readme wasn't very specific), how do I edit the existing characters (I'd like to remove or alter the spanish text that accompanies the DBZ characters), and where can I download more characters, stages, and sounds? It's almost enough to warrant another thread, but I think we can squeeze it in here. |

As for "doujin", that's for attention purposes ;) I consider Cave Story to be doujin, since Pixel just up and made this for fun, and it wasn't made by an official company or anything. No need to sweat. All in due time. Looks like we have some mega updates here, so I'll need time for screenshots and updating. VFT and SCWU direct transfer within the next couple of hours for those still having problems, and with the inclination. As for MUGEN, I thought about including it, but I haven't found much in the way of actually being able to play it. If there's a particular game with the MUGEN engine (eg. Destruction Desire) then I'd put it. I thought MUGEN was more like a thing that people could use to program their characters and then after that people could just download characters and then pit them against each other. Not a standard fan made game with everything preset, but something more of a customizable tool? Valkyrie Fight Tag (via Sendspace) Super Cosplay War Ultra |
MUGEN is certainly playable (if you can go through the hoops to get it that is), and it isn't necessary for you to do the customization yourself. Downloading the characters, stages, and themes is up to you, but if you can get it going, you can have the mother of all fighting games at your disposal, with an endless amount of characters to choose from (most people have over 500!).
I've figured out how to add characters and stages, but I still haven't figured out how to set the program to full screen, or how to add mp3s to the levels of my choice. Anyone know any MUGEN forums or something? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOB8A...gen%20movie%20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxW4x...h=mugen%20boom And I'm still wondering where the song in the first video is from. Or who the Samara knockoff with the horror moves is supposed to be. Also, that Valkyrie Fight Tag was fantastic, the kind of doujin game I'd like to see. Anymore like it? I'm surprised no one's tried to do an all-star FF fighter using the same method. Should be a cinch (at least for all the sprite based games). Spoiler:
|
If you're ever going to get deep in Mugen, there are 2 things I highly recommend you download:
Everything vs. Everything (screenpack) Dragonclaw (character) If for some reason you can't find these, I'm always on AIM: icantfeelmyhair |
SOLDIER:
Spoiler:
For FF fighters, the closest we have is Ehrgeiz lol ;) I so want Mugen now, but when I went to that site it said it was a patch. :s |
http://www.brokenfunction.com/content/
Two short but entertaining diversions. They even "link" together, and you get a special secret if you finish both of them. :) |

MUGEN is an utterly fascinating program if you're a fan of 2D fighting. There is absolutely no limit to how many fighters you can toss in, and the mixed results are almost always guaranteed to entertain. It's also amazing what kind of custom characters people come up with (although this causes some serious imbalance; turning the giant metroid from Super Metroid into a fighting character looks seriously cool, but that thing will beat the living crap out of you no matter what you use). http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-42-34-29.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-42-51-79.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-44-07-65.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-45-35-95.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-45-57-56.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-46-00-03.jpg The problem though is that MUGEN is also very time consuming. You have to manually set every single thing, from characters, to stages, to what music plays in what stage, and so on. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1-41-19-20.jpg As you can see here, I need to work on setting the characters correctly, as their portraits aren't appearing where they need to. I have other similar problems, such as the character select music not playing. The MUGEN forums should help with most of these problems, but it's going to take a while before I can make my MUGEN look as presentable as people who have been using it forever. It's also going to take a long while to collect all the characters and stages people made up. Oh, and I downloaded that Super Cosplay link you provided, but when I open the file it says I need a password or an installing key. Do you have either? |
the password to SCWU I believe it the website itself. If you scroll towards the bottom of the japanese page, it should have it right there in parantheses.
|
Okay, why is Valkyrie Fight Tag ridiculously awesome.
Thank you for uploading that, Summon. I've been wanting to play the game for years, and it was worth the wait. Quote:
|
Grabbing Post 51 for pic purposes mostly.
Everything Vs. Everything (EVE Battle) seems to be harder to come by now :s Looks pretty awesome though, I have to actually figure out how to put the characters in though. I'm jealous SOLDIER! Unless those aren't screen caps and you snagged them from somewhere else :3 |
Those are indeed my own screencaps, taken from fraps. Mario 64 can do some serious punishment, but Evil Dan is the absolute favorite so far.
Quote:
http://rapidshare.de/files/26550010/EVE.rar.html And here's the MUGEN application in case that site from before didn't work (install this first). http://rapidshare.de/files/26551866/...patch.zip.html I really think maybe I should make a seperate thread about MUGEN. It would be useful to help collect all those rare characters and stages, and help with any problems I still have. |
See, this is what I hated about MUGEN the last time I tried it.
Like every other "community" development project, everything is infuriatingly scattered and hidden, making it almost impossible to have a consistent character roster. You install the game and you have a massive ONE character in the selection, so you set out to find some kind of wonderful massive character pack that'll have everything you need, but of course that doesn't exist. Searching for characters separately is a god damn joke, you'll end up with SCRAPS. You find one SFA3 character here, another one from a different site that's been done by a different person and thus looks and behaves completely different from the other character. All the good collections have either been taken down or are on locked sites, protected by an angry and secluded creator with a bad temper. Sure, there's "communities", but they're certainly not going to help you acquire character collections because holy shit that's illegal, you should create your own! Then you have the game projects, completed works I doubt I'll be able to move characters from and magically make compatible with EVE without massive fiddling with something I won't understand anyway. Not to mention all the interesting projects are ALWAYS either on chinese or spanish sites/forums and you'll always eventually run into an expired link. Argh, where the hell are all the massive torrents with every conceivable character? I remember having some kind of character pack on my HD or something, but I deleted it in frustration since I never got it to work. As for full screening, I just alt+Enter, though I kinda wish the resolution wasn't so ridiculously small. |
This is precisely why a MUGEN thread is a good idea. The good thing is that GFF doesn't shy away from legal restrictions when it comes to sharing stuff, so that gives the thread two advantages; helping people with configuring the program and solving any problems, and for requesting (and providing) characters and stages. I'm likely going to start one up by today.
I've managed to put together a decent enough program with a few stages and characters, and I haven't stopped laughing at the results. The custom moves people have come up with are hilarious. I still have some problems though. The biggest is figuring out how to remove this insanely annoying choir that plays every time the Round signs pop up. Finding a way to change up the characters, such as their AI or damage levels would be nice too. Most of the custom characters are ridiculously overpowered, especially the Metroid. No matter how hard you try, the damn thing will own you fast (it even starts attacking you before the round starts!). The simplest solution would be to remove characters like that and keep the balanced ones in, but that loses some of the appeal. One character I easily recommend is the Alien Queen (taken from Alien vs Predator). It's a tough fight, but not nearly as tough as the Metroid, and the Queen even comes with a cool minigame where you have to take out a specific amount of Alien enemies (Evil Ryu's hurricane kick+Alien enemies=hilarity). And some stages simply don't install properly, even though I follow the same rules as the other stages. I'm not sure if I have to change something in the .def file, or they were simply unfinished. And in regards to a torrent pack full of characters, I found one here... http://www.mininova.org/tor/274128 but it's over 1GB. I don't really have the patience to download it all. I have, however, found a couple of sites that had a healthy assortment of regular fighters (SF Alpha, Guilty Gear, KOF, etc). Just google "mugen characters" and you'll find it. |
Quote:
The sites that seemed to claim to have characters were just advert lists for OTHER sites claiming the same thing, and the few sites that actually had, for instance, SFA characters, only have a handful of them, which is of course useless to me, as I'm not about to download Ryu from one site and Sakura from another since they'll handle completely differently. I'll check out this character torrent, looks promising. It's exactly what I'm looking for (if it actually works). |
Well, here's one site that I can confirm works (for the most part).
http://www.mugenation.com/index.php/cat=programmi My biggest hurdle is correctly displaying all the characters in the selection screen. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...8-24-54-29.jpg I managed to put them in the correct place (filling out the ? boxes), but the problem is some of the ? boxes take up the portraits. I need to figure out how to cut away those boxes so the portraits can be displayed in full. |
This explanation may seem sort of bland, but I'm going to try anyway. When you're adding characters to the select.def, instead of pressing enter and adding a new line for the character, you have to delete the "RandomSelect" and replace that with a character name, so that you're overwriting it instead of making a new line, hence making a new "RandomSelect."
Each row is represented by "/-" and "RandomSelect" if I remember correctly. The "/-" in the row represents blank space in each row. If you take a look at your screencap, mathmatically, the character select screen is 12 "/-", and 26 "RandomSelect" for 14 rows, then it alternates--26 "RandomSelect" and 12"/-" to make up the blank character potrait at the bottom. I hope that helps. |
I found a much more appealing torrent for MUGEN. According to the seeder, it contains MUGEN with EVE already patched into it, as well as over 500 characters, 200 stages and mp3's.
http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/53...ers_200_stages This is a godsend for anyone new to the MUGEN scene. It'll save you hours of configuration and web surfing for characters and stages. Look to my MUGEN thread for further discusssions (and characters I'll be sending). |
Good mother Jesus that's sweet. I'll download this torrent then provide an upload for it when its' done. From here on out, as Soldier said, MUGEN discussion can be found here:

Here's a cool doujinish game, it's really cute. Somehow, it's about a maid on a snow scooter, racing through town shooting up snowbunnies (and mowing down citizens for money).
Yeah... It's pretty crazy. Anyway, the gameplay is great, it reminds me of the Megaman X sections where you got the glider racer thingie. (Or was that Megaman Zero?) I've only played the trial, which is really easy, but I'm looking for the full version now. Have a look! A screenshot courtesy of the official site: http://www.15citron.com/ichigo/melon/melon04b.jpg |
Hey guys! maybe i can help you all with this
That game is Melon Squash, i got it, imagine those Megaman X motorcicle stages but with kawaii characters... i can upload it if you want on my Sharing thread. |
Burp, that thread looks even more awesome than mine!
I managed to download the Ragnarok Battle Offline game, but I can't burn the .cdi file to a cd since it's over 4.7GB. I am so downloading those games =) Do you have Party's Breaker by any chance? Looks like we're both trying to find Queen of Spades. |
Yeah, i have Party Breaker, i will upload it but first i will upload Raiders Sphere 3rd (an awesome game, believe me)
Oh, you thread its awesome too =P but what about made a "Master List" with info and all that? i will just upload the games in my thread... not put info |
ABA Games has some good shooters available.
I'm really liking the idea of a Doujin Game Master List, though I think that a Master List of any sort should have info on what series the games are based off of and who makes them. But, of course, you may not have that much free time. I don't know if anyone else has done this already, but for those interested, here are the links to some of the more well-known doujin circles. Shanghai Alice - http://www16.big.or.jp/~zun/ ---The Touhou/Shrine Maiden series of shooters Tasogare Frontier - http://www.tasofro.net/ ---Eternal Fighter Zero; collaborated with Shanghai Alice for Immaterial and Missing Power; collaborating with 07 Storming Party for Higurashi Daybreak French Bread - http://www13.plala.or.jp/french/ ---Melty Blood (w/ Type-Moon); Ragnarok Battle Offline 07th Storming Party - http://07th-expansion.net/ ---'Higurashi no Naku Goro Ni' visual novel series (now an Anime series) Easy Game Station - http://egs.cug.net/ ---Duo Princess (Dewprism fan game); Gunner's Heart |
Ahaha, I like the box for Duo Princess. FantasticActionGAME
|
BTW, I don't suppose anyone has gotten hold of a copy of Line-Kill Spirits as of yet? It looks like a horrible game, but it'd be awesome just for the fact that you can say you've played it. :D
|
Yeah, that seems... interesting, I suppose! Though I'm sure the novelty of the game mechanics would wear off immediately after playing.
I went to the English Mandarake page for this (sold out?!), and they linked to this entry: http://www.invertedcastle.com/archiv...apanese-games/ Is that supposed to be advertising? :D |
Looks hilarious! I woiuld have no reason to look at the panties but I'd only be interested to see what kinds of super moves there are, if any, and as always.
Gak! Behind on updates. Such a slew of neat games in Burp's thread, and I think I'm being too finicky with my screenshots. I'll put stuff up from post 60 onwards, I dunno if I have time to research more about the actual doujin circles, but it would seem only fair since we are somehow getting these games without even so much as a mention about the creators. |
Quick update with Azu Fighter (get it before the link expires), as well as some screenshot and description updates.

Shouju Attack: the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=4811
Lemmings with anime girls. Akuji the Demon is fairly popular (though I personally dislike it): the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=4160 Anyhow nice list, several of them I already had but you pointed out a few I haven't tried yet (and a few I really like). I think my favorite of the fighting games is Dogma (though there are a few that I am still waiting for the torrent to start on), it's unfortunate that it was left unfinished :( Especially considering the way the controls are set up I have to use the left analog stick of my joypad for movement and pause just happens to be pressing in on the stick  |
If you guys are getting into mugen I suggest going to mugeninfantry.net. They should have the eve screenpack there. Also can someone reupload Valykrie Fight Tag as well as full versions of Drill Milky Punch & Melon Squash
Rather amusing Mugen Video: Precure vs Naruto: youtube.com/watch?v=-W4nwdEMUrg (If anyone has this version of precure pm me) |

I'm not entierly sure if battle pantasia series is a dojin game or a dojin animation series (animations of SWR attacks done by magical girls and the like) so infos would be nice.
|
Anyone heard of the Akatsuki series? Very high-quality sprites, and some pretty cool characters. I can Rapidshare the first game if there's some demand.

Demand right here :)
Will update soon with Magical Feeling 2 and a bit of Raider's Sphere Third thanks to Burp's new uploads. I'm still unstable with this gigantic Ragnarok Battle Offline file, I'll upload the parts soon, but if anyone can actually tell me what to do with the .cdi then I'd be much obliged. Too big to burn to cd-r, I can't seem to mount it for some reason, and can't convert to iso. |

I have seen that character in someone's site, but I can't quite remember which one. I have stumbled upon the site more than once, so I'll be sure to grab it for you next time. I have no desire to play against an opponent with such a retardedly long special move though (it's even worse than the Naruto custom shown there). I've had Ragnarok Battle Offline sitting in my desktop, but I haven't tried it yet. This might be a stupid question, but is it basically Ragnorok Online minus the Online part? Also is it in english? |
RBOff is like a a scrolling fighting game, or rather a platformer/shooter. You just go right most of the time and slash, shoot or magic you way through. Simple and very nice, even though it is only in japanese. But don't worry there aren't any dialogues to read.
|
|
yeah just let me know if you find that version of precure... as for Battle Fantasia, the peeps at hongfire say its just fan art, not a game
the easiest way to get those via msn (same name) or upload on filefront )with partitions. |
I had problems getting Hinokakera ~ Fragments of Innocent Sinner to run, same with Fatal Fake, and no one was seeding Melty Blood ReAct Final Tuned. If anyone could hook me up with them I could hook anyone else who needs them up from here on out (I've got high speed for forum browsing so I've got some bandwidth to spare ;)). Most everything else I've got and if anyone needs anything that doesnt want to deal with those various sites just PM me :)
|
I'll try to see if I can still send Melty Blood ReAct Final Tuned somehow...I deleted the zip files for many games already (and some older games as well) and I'll have to find out in which obscure japanese labelled folder I put it in. Hopefully you don't need the installation program itself.
Finally actually updating with Magical Feeling 2. Next will be Akatsuki (MF2 can be found in Burp's Doujin Sharing thread), and I have to eventually screencap and write up something small for Little Fighter 2 for those who haven't heard of it yet. |
Does Burp have the first or second one? I'm interested in getting the sequel ("Akatsuki BK," I think) but I can't seem to find a download link.
|
Could somebody rar up Variable Geo Max and Touhou ~ Immaterial and Missing Power....I've been trying for like an hour on their sites, but I haven't gotten anywhere...
|
Spoiler:
|
I hate to break it to ya jlong, but that server is ABSOLUTE crap. It's going to take 42 hours for Immaterial and Missing Power to download.
|
It is a free server with 20 k/b upload, that is why it is slow.
|
I downloaded MeltyBlood and Hinokakera off of that site, working on Touhou currently (though I've had lots of problems with the downloads freezing, took SEVERAL tried to get MeltyBlood). If anyone needs any of the games just PM me your AIM SN and I can transfer them to you, my upload usually runs around 55kbps :)
Edit: They require a code to extract :( |
http://softlinks.eu/2006/08/09/hinok...s_full_pc.html
If anyone is still looking for Hinokakera, there's the full Version 1.0 in RAR format...so no evil annoying Torrents to deal with. Although its in Rapid Share, and there are 4 downloads. So it'll take about 3 hours to get em all. |
Sorry about the double post
Mind Arms has been updated. A new character has been added, as well as voices for most of the characters. Net Mode is also enabled, but I don't know how it works. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OWG4DL25 |
Hello, can anyone please post a link to the full Melon Squash game?
Little update, got the full Melon Squash game now, if anyone else wants it, I need some pointers on how to upload it, or upload it to someone's ftp or so. Not much use to give a complete list of my doujin games, because most of it came off this forum :P ow wait, haven't seen "Fate/Sword Dance" and "No Limit off Beat Action Shooting" here yet and I have those too ^__^ |
Tasogare Frontier (a.k.a Tasofro) has released another ~100MB demo of Higurashi Daybreak. Higurashi Daybreak is the 3rd-person 3D deathmatch game they made with 07th Expansion, the creators of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. According to the site, they even got the voice actors from the anime to perfom their roles in the game. Pretty damn bold for a doujin game.
Anyway, because my PC is down for the time being, I'd like someone to play it and give me their thoughts on it. Please! |
Hi people Im new here.
My first doujin game was melty blood but I didn't know that they were a lot more of them. When I saw this I get impress. So I start searching for new games like crazy and I found this games. They are from another forum so I dind't upload them. But im new here so I cant post them. :aargh: :aargh: :aargh: Tsukihime Battle Moon Wars 1 y 2 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Soul Saber Higurashi Daybreak Trial Guys Im looking for the full version of Blood Over. I want that game but is hard to find it, so If u have plz share with us. Thanks |
I've located a cirlce called Marckensoft (though the kana pronounces it like 'Melkensoft'), and they seem to specialize in making cute action/rpgs. They even have an English page! Never mind the fact that the English pages for the games are run through translation software, and appreciate the effort.
They're currently developing a game called Fortune Summoners which seems to be an Action/RPG. The art style sort of reminds me of Gust. |
If you're referring to Fortune Summoners, it isn't out yet. The other games on their site should be available, though.
|
Uploaded the following games on my thread today:
- Queen of Hearts 2001 - Party Breakers - Sispri Gauntlet - Fatal Fake - BloodOver - Acceleration of Suguri |
Thanks Burp. Now Im able to download Blood Over.
PD: Ho many post do I need to put an image link here and a link. I want to post here the games I mentioned before. |
I guess you need to be Level 3 in the forums to do that first =P
|
All right time for massive updates before the end of sometime this week, but I'd just like to restate that if anyone has any mini-writeups or good screenshots from games that aren't already covered in this thread (eg. most of Burp's new uploads), then please send them my way and that would be very much appreciated.
I'll update with: Little Fighter 2 Higurashi Daybreak (Demo) SisPri Gauntlet Queen of Hearts 2001: Party's Breaker Blood Over and Touhou Probably won't get around to Raider's Sphere 3rd |
Well someone uploaded drill milky punch.
Heres the link, you guys. The games awesome! megaupload.com/?d=IXRHAQ5X Now for melon squash |
oh ya... on that previous link for hinokakera... are the music background files intact? I have the full version but it has no music
|
Guys, i guess that all our problems for finding games are now finished, read my thread, you will be very impressed... i guess that even my thread isnt really necesary anymore.
Ah, hell my engrish is even more poor! sorry >_< |
Quite a formidable site! Almost makes my thread obsolete, although there are still ones that aren't on Simulation Style. Now I can cut out the ones that are already on there and make more space for the ones that aren't :o
Very nice, updates to come before the end of Saturday....hopefully although SS should satisfy many people for a while. |
