Guild Wars (+ Factions)

With the upcoming release of the expension back, this game should get rolling again. No monthly costs and the fact that it's stand-alone will make this a joy for many MMORPG-lovers (and WoW-haters or people who have a problem with monthly costs). Post your name, server and level.

Info: http://www.guildwars.com

As for myself:

Grawlius Retardus, American server, lvl. 17

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 03:07 PM

I've called my local ebgames store 5 times in the passed week, asking about the pre-order box. THe one that gives you the goodies like the beta event cd-key and such. They don't know a thing about it, and even said Canada might not even get the pre-order package, which really sucks :(

Grawl Mar 2, 2006 03:12 PM

So with the pre-order box you can enter some event? I'll have to see if they have any around.

Grawl Mar 2, 2006 03:17 PM

Why doesn't the European boxed pre-order pack come with a preview at 24 March? And 24-hours-before-the-official-release-date? What is this? GFF?

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 03:19 PM

It does.

Wait, how does that work... march 31st? but the preview event is on march 24th.. O.o

Grawl Mar 2, 2006 03:30 PM

Yea, they are releasing the European box-release on the 31st. So no preview if you want a boxed copy ._.

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 03:31 PM

:( well, considering we dont get any pre-order goodies at all here (so sais all the ebgames I called) Im worse off then you, cause you GET the box, (albeit a bit late) :p

El Ray Fernando Mar 2, 2006 03:37 PM

I bought Guild Wars just last week, I haven't had a chance to knuckle down and play it as of yet though, but you can find me on the American districts. I will first put in a month or two at least before I consider buying factions.

I have 1 Guild Wars invitation for the Factions preview event weekend on the 24th of March, anybody who is interested in an invite please PM me before it goes

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 03:38 PM

XHG is dead... it died 2 months in I think, with everyone splitting up to do their own thing.

Lacerta Mar 2, 2006 03:55 PM

You should only need the key if you don't own Prophecies, thus disabling you from participating in the BPE.

At least that's how ANet described it to everyone. I'd probably get it anyway just so my Ritualist will have something to use. :cow:

El Ray Fernando Mar 2, 2006 04:03 PM

Just to clarify

http://www.guildwars.com/events/faq-...eviewevent.php
Quote:

How can I get access to the FPE?

All existing Guild Wars retail accounts in good standing will automatically be able to access the Factions beta content during the weekend of the FPE.

Also each Guild Wars account holder can send up to three invitations, you can do this after logging in.

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 04:05 PM

Right. Pre-ording only lets you play Factions 24 hours before the rest of the world can

Lacerta Mar 2, 2006 04:10 PM

Wonder how many people are going to go out of their way to start a Canthan character in Tyria and beat the entire Prophecies campaign in the timeframe of those 24 hours then go nuts in Factions.

Although they would probably prefer to massively redeem their faction for skills then run through the game getting the rest of them, then go back into HoH with their pro builds.

Grawl Mar 2, 2006 04:11 PM

And especially for Europe that's a bit weird to do, since you can only get the boxed version from 31 March and on ._. I want some proof I bought this when I'm old and I show my family what MMORPGs were back in the ol' days.

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 04:12 PM

Haha... That would be crazy. Im going to make a new character in Factions. Im still wondering if I should merge acounts. 2 extra slots and have my ch.1 charries run through Cantha? or 4 new slots of just Cantha.

Grawl Mar 2, 2006 04:17 PM

I guess you can always let your guild add your alt, right?

edit: if you even care about that - if not I'd go for it.

Lacerta Mar 2, 2006 04:18 PM

I'd do it incase they discriminate and make some special stuff for linked accounts only.

Anyone know what the top 8 or so guilds got under this reward system thing?

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 04:19 PM

Some kind of prize. Gaile (Anet reprasentative) said they will be giving out that info on the GW site i nthe next 24 hours. So just sit tight and wait :P

Lacerta Mar 2, 2006 04:24 PM

Being the PR of ANet must be a boring job ~

It was fun however seeing her join in the monk strike (which is still going on) and protesting against stupid players. >=0

Kenichi Mar 2, 2006 04:25 PM

Wow, I was thinking the expansion was free, like all of their other expansions. I guess the other expansions were just small little "fixes". Oh well, I tried my absolute hardest to get into this game and it just didn't interest me. Maybe I just got tired of playing with random people all the time. :\

Marco Mar 2, 2006 07:12 PM

Guild Wars is a good game. Like most MMOs, though, it's only any good if you play it a lot.

I have a couple of level 20s, and I am always in the American servers. I was actually thinking of getting a GFF guild together. There probably is enough people to make one, and then, of course, we can recruit once we have good enough members. PVP will just kick so much ass with GFF members.

Anyone down? I can pay all the fees for a guild (cape, hall, etc), I got some money.

Let me know, guys.

Turbo Mar 2, 2006 07:16 PM

I think to be an effective PVP guild, you would need to be a bunch of real life friends and not some random joes. But I suppose a community of random joes would work... Also, its an absolute must that you have either Team Speak or Ventrillo, or theres no way you'll be able to co-ordinate your attacks.

Get those, and yeah sure, I'll probably join. I've been guildless for a while now. I have a bunch of invites too. All random. Don't plan on joining any of em.

Excrono Mar 2, 2006 08:01 PM

I've been grinding away at this game for the last 8 or some months (since it was released) and have been enjoying it fairly consistently with a variety of primary/secondary class combinations. Even after one has beaten all of the PvE missions and optional quests, there always seems to be more to be do. Be it solo farming areas you used to have problems with full groups, to tackling some of the optional Titan quests one can keep themselves occupied for months on end. But the factions expansion should be a breath of fresh air. It will be cool to see how the new weapons/armor/items effect the economy and how the new classes will change the overall game play dynamic and balance of power between classes. So I will definitely be picking this up, (mainly for the two additional character slots).

I have not been able to play it as consistently nowadays however, mainly because work is taking a big chunk of my time. Usually I try to do Fissure of Woe or Underworld/New Tombs runs on weeknights starting at 7pm CST if America has favor and I am always on Friday, and Saturday evenings. A list of my current characters can be found by clicking on the link in my signature.

Kenichi Mar 2, 2006 08:31 PM

I guess what I didn't like about the game is that it's not about the grinding at all, it's about "questing". I haven't paid any attention to the story thus far, and I've only been playing quests to lvl me up. I'm almost lvl 20, so I'm just kinda losing the will to play. One day when I decide to play again and reach 20 I'll probably just quit altogether. Quests can be fun in some games, but in this game they're mostly just "go talk to someone, then come back and tell me you talked to that someone" or "go kill all the monsters". I stopped playing because everytime I'd get anywhere in a long quest, all my teammates would leave the game for no reason leaving me all alone, then I'd get raped by an onslaught of monsters. I don't have any friends who play it, but if I did I could probably get into it a little easier. Everyone i know just plays that damn WoW game. :aargh:

Dude, thats why I love this game! I can't stand grinding.. I can't. Sitting there, doing nothing but killing stuff over and over and over, hoping to reach the next level before bedtime. It drives me nuts, theres no substance with it. In GW, the lvl 20 cap is perfect. By that time, you just got to Lions Arch, if not a bit furthur, and the story line is all aruond you, you're finding out whats happening to the chosen, etc..

Its just a refreshing change of pace compared to most MMO's out there.

Kitty Mar 2, 2006 11:58 PM

This game sucks pretty much for the people seeking to do more than pve all day long honestly. I know so many people right now who are having a hard time finding guilds, even though they are decent players. You really got to have some connections usually. :\

Or join XoO. Haaa~

BTW, that top 8 prize we should be getting soon enough! :D

Does anyone here gvg at all?

Turbo Mar 3, 2006 12:04 AM

Woaahh its Kitty, Hey =o!

I've hit the endpoint in PvE and I've been looking to do some GvG for the longest time, but it doesnt help when you don't know the basics in PvP.. what good skills are, good builds, how to use em, etc.. Its hard to find pugs, hard to find guilds willing to take in a PvP noob and help them learn the ropes...

Nice job on getting into the top 8 :) You should've gone to Taiwan Kitty :p

Yeah, well my guild yells at me a lot for not going to Taiwan with them...but I had a lot too do, and it costs $$$$$...so D:
If you are looking to start GvG, yet you don't have much experience, you might as well try to join Xen Of Onslaught. They create guilds that teach people who are seeking to GvG how to, or at least get the basic gist of playing. :)

What's your IGN? If you need basic tips on builds/skills/stuff, ask me. :cow:

Turbo Mar 3, 2006 12:13 AM

Your guild had the chance to go to Taiwan? I thought everything was pre-paid, flights, hotel, food, etc..

In game, my main is Mors Inocentae and sure =) I want to, if not get into a pvp guild, at least know my stuf so I can be useful in pugs or whatever... I bet it doesnt help that I'm a W/Mo.. I have a R/El but she's still at ascalon.

Rollins Mar 3, 2006 12:14 AM

Ahh, I just got my copy last week and I've been playing it pretty much nonstop haha. I'm sure I'll calm down soon enough, but seeing as I'm still in Pre-Searing, I know there's a bunch more of the game left to see, not even counting the PvP and GvG stuff, which I hope to get into soon enough.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. I'm really looking forward to Factions as well, even though I haven't finished up with the main game yet either. I've been also following GuildWiki pretty closely to see what I should and shouldn't be doing.

Turbo Mar 3, 2006 12:16 AM

Hmm, if you're still in pre-searing, let me know either ingame, gff PM or in this thread when you sear. My ranger is still in ascalon and we could go on together or something.

I've been in Treacherous Empire for a little over a month now I think, though I haven't been playing much since the start of this school year. Been busy with a lot of things. Getting to know some of the korean guilds like EvIL and War Machine is a lot of fun too though. If I had more time I would get back into gvging more frequently.

Tombs just sucks now with IWAY and stupid euro edenial and trapway and all that same shit.

Thats pretty neat. All these builds, trapaway, IWAY, wheover else is popular, I cant go into any of the pug maps and go "W/Mo lfg" I get outright ignored.. and I can't say anythign else cause I don't have a specific build.

Sux to be me I guess

Kitty Mar 3, 2006 12:29 AM

LOL

Hey, instead of us flooding the ever-dying forum, why don't you just log into GW right now, and let's have a chat. :D

PS, just so I don't waste a post, I'll throw in a random something!

Honestly GvG isn't that hard, since if you've at least played around with various skills you should have a decent understanding of what is good and what isn't. It's not about the skills, but the skill of the player. You can have the best build in the game and if you don't have a clue how to adapt depending on the situation you're no better than the worst build that knows where and when to act. Of course it's not plausible to require everyone to know how to respond to every possible situation unless they are dedicated to it and work really hard.

It is a bit disheartening that most guilds only want:
  • Close Friends
  • Professionals
  • High Ranked (6+ at least I suppose) Players
  • No Drama ( Because Guild Wars is Serious Business >=0! )
  • IWAY fags so they can farm fame in HoH all day long ~

Although if you look around you can find a few good guilds (Sup XoO) that are willing to take in new recruits and turn them into decent players.

It seems EoE bombs are popular again, although they aren't pulling them off effectively and so the whole guild just plops dead and the Ghostly Hero is left standing like "wtf is wrong with you guys".

I've kind of retired from GvG until Factions drops or someone comes along and smacks me in the face. More concerned with unlocking things for Ritualist and Assassin instead of farming or whatever (maybe I'll beat the game a 6th time before getting ready for Factions) since I have already unlocked everything for the classes we have already. :cow:

Samurai Jack Mar 3, 2006 12:47 AM

Hey guys, good to be back. I see everyone's getting ready for Factions. After seeing the trailer for it, I'm pretty excited for it as well. Can't wait to play an assassin. I had one during the beta event, but since i don't PvP alot, I didn't have any faction to unlock skills beyond what the template build. I'm usually around so look me up on my characters. I'm currently working on my monk so gimmie a holla if you need some help with anything =).

Single Elbow Mar 3, 2006 01:28 AM

The hilarious thing is I logged on after 8 months of nothing and I find out I'm still in DSB (Defenders of Serious Business which is like.. defunct, archaic, historical guild).

My brother is pre-ordering it. Me? I may drop in but I lost interest 5 months after I bought it.

Vkamicht Mar 3, 2006 11:50 AM

I play Guild Wars very casually... I'm really into MMOs but I wouldn't even consider GW one. The other thing is I really dislike team competitions so I don't see myself ever being in one of those seriously competitive guilds any time soon. That combined with the fact that the game's PvE is not all that great, what's keeping me playing? I have no idea... the obsession with trying to unlock every skill and reveal the whole map, finish all quests, those sort of things. I like to have a sense of completion (reaching lv. 20 does not count.)

So anyway, character names...
A Nude
Action Hotdog
Despair And Agony
-reserved slot for nightly Random Arena char-

In the end, I'll probably pre-order Factions since I have money with literally nothing else to spend it on.

  • Removed a potential chest exploit from the "Deserters" quest.

  • Fixed a bug in the "Hungry Devourer" quest that allowed the Junipers to be killed before the players arrived, preventing the players from getting food for Joe.

  • Fixed some maps where the same bosses were spawning multiple times: Ice Caves of Sorrow, Kessex Peak, and Deldrimor Bowl.

Yeah, I (unfortunately) have been playing this game constantly for the past 2 months or so in a guild with a couple of friends and a bunch of random people they invited. We aren't very good at PvP (I think our rank is 6,000 something) but it's still rather fun anyway. The biggest problem I seem to have is that all my character slots are full and generally it's best to make a PvP character since they start out with all the best equipment, and so if I wanted to be on par with a PvP character I'd have to do a lot in PvE to reach that level. But yeah, my characters are and I don't know the secondary professions cause I tend to change them a lot:

Master Phat (Ranger Lvl 20)
Aranel Dorthonion (Monk Lvl 20)
Mesmer Cakes (Mesmer Lvl 11..I think)
Wilibald Brandybuck (Warrior Lvl 20)

Rollins Mar 3, 2006 07:29 PM

Just made the jump to Searing today. Bah, it's a lot harder ^^; Of course, that's a good thing, I couldn't stick around in Pre-Searing all day. I found it interesting to see Level 2 characters making the jump so quickly, but I figure if you've done it before, you probably want to get to the main game quicker.

Yeah, Pre-Searing is just to get a feel for the game and your character. The only thing you really should do in Pre-Searing are the skill quests, the resurrection signet quest, and if you want to, the skill point quest. Other than that it's just experience which you can always get later on and in larger quantities.

Turbo Mar 3, 2006 07:54 PM

Nice job :) send me a PM or post here if you wana go questing together. My Ranger is still in old ascalon

Monk Strike? Huh, never heard of that. Then again, I haven't had my monk among other characters on the past couple of months due to a fried video card. :(

Samurai Jack Mar 4, 2006 12:10 AM

The strike is still going on? I thought it was over already. Last few times i went by THK, I didn't see anything other than groups forming for the mission. Honestly though, the mission is pretty easy if you know what you're doing. Why some people have so much trouble with the mission I can't imagine. Now, Defend North Kryta Province...now THAT quest is challenging. =d

Lacerta Mar 4, 2006 12:20 AM

By now the strike should be over except for a few diehards.

An update to the update:

Update - Friday March 3

Fixed the following newly introduced bugs:
  • The skill Bull's Charge was knocking down moving foes when used with any type of weapon, not only with melee weapons.
  • The skill Fevered Dreams was incorrectly spreading Conditions to allies of both the caster and target, rather than just enemies of the caster as specified in the skill description.
  • The skill Warrior's Endurance did not correctly match its description in the update notes.
  • Monsters were not responding to damage taken from the skill Balthazar's Aura.
  • Certain elite skills, such as Peace and Harmony and Blood is Power, could not be captured using a Signet of Capture.
  • Kepkhet Marrowfeast was neglecting to guard her nest.
  • The Party Window was periodically failing to display certain team allies such as Bodyguards.
  • The Skill Monitor was not correctly displaying skill interruption.

Menzoberranzan Mar 4, 2006 12:30 AM

I remember when I first got out of Pre-Sear lol. Post Searing looked like a piece of crap compared to it that I nearly lost interest heh.

Turbo Mar 4, 2006 01:04 AM

Yeah. Old ascalon really looks like a dump. But then you move away from that and you get into the shiverpeaks, beautiful.. Then Kryta... the jungle, the desert...The game really turns beautiful.

Rollins Mar 4, 2006 11:50 AM

Haha yeah, I'm glad that the whole game world isn't just Ascalon. As much as an apocalyptic wasteland makes for a good story, it wouldn't do justice to some of the awesome visuals I saw in Pre-Searing.

Sure, if anyone wants to hit me for some party work sometime, you can find me under "Kasumi Akino" for now. I went with the beginner friendly W/Mo. Just note that I'm still very newbie-ish to the game, so party at your own risk, haha.

Side note, recently, I was very worried when my copy of Guild Wars wouldn't run anymore and kept giving me Exception: 00000005 errors and was spouting stuff about being unable to read a memory address =/ After searching on the net, I found suggestions like upgrading drivers to messing with my BIOS o_O I re-installed GW and seems to work ok now, but I don't want to have to do this over and over. Anyone else have problems like this?

Grawl Mar 4, 2006 12:07 PM

Well just reached level 18. The time to become ascended is getting close.

Lacerta Mar 4, 2006 12:24 PM

I have a W/Mo sitting around Augury Rock waiting to do the ascension quests with someone since doing them by yourself is boring =P

Menzoberranzan Mar 4, 2006 12:47 PM

Warriors are just too many lol, makes it real difficult for em to find a good group. Thank goodness I got my warrior through the game lol.

Samurai Jack Mar 4, 2006 03:00 PM

Same here...but now my monk is at Amnoon now so maybe we'll meet up since everyone seems to be hanging around the desert. =p

Telekinetic Mar 5, 2006 06:35 PM

hey guys i ahve question: if u put a rune in a piece of armor, is it possible to override it with another rune (i.e. a minor fire magic rune, and then u put a superior fire magic rune in the same piece of armor)? cuz i don't want to be stuck with a minor fire on my elemenetalist.

and if anyone wants to pvp, msg me at Pandaren Beermaster, (im kind of noob though).

Ya, you can override that rune with any rune, that minor fire rune armor will be a superior if you put it on. Just remember that you can't stack runes of the same element, for example, have a earth superior on your helm and earth superior on your shoes, won't work plus it'll be a waste on the hp consequence.

I'm usually on if not busy with work IGN: Longcat Is Long :guitarist:
Sometimes I'll make random pugs with some friends for the hell of it and go to hoh lolling, if anyone wants can come along =p But gvg is what I do most of the time.

Although with the nerf pvp had some interesting builds, iway's pretty much done, now you see some with stupid barrage iways now. Pretty annoyed that ranger spike still the same but ah well =| Necro bloodspike, and rainbow spike is what people run most of the time this time actually anything spike wtf

:doggy:

Slash Mar 5, 2006 07:46 PM

Usually, as far as runes go you can't stack them. Like two health runes will only give you one bonus, not both.

Watcher Mar 5, 2006 11:57 PM

I'm not on there that often, but you can add me too. But that's only because I'm playing City of Heroes at the moment. Once I run out of money, I'll play Guild Wars again.

Ifny Organa (lvl 20 Elementalist/Monk)

the quiet fox Mar 6, 2006 11:20 AM

I started playing this again after who knows how long. While I can't promise I'll stick around, I do seem to be enjoying myself so far. I'm taking things very slowly; I feel extra nubcakes-ish this time around for some reason. >.>

Coyote Snowblind, American server, R/Mo, level 6.

Marco Mar 8, 2006 05:20 PM

My account got stolen.

I had two lvl 20s, both with best armor in game, a lot of green weapons (Victo's blade, Bludgeoner, Gold Staff) a GOLD MAGMA SHIELD, and like 125k gold.

I just learned they won't be able to roll back my account, and I will basically have to start over.

What pisses me off is all the shit I unlocked...

I can't stop playing, though. My 5 best friends in real life just got the game 'coz I told them to, and we were gonna start a guild... Long way 'till I get a celestical sigil for us now. ;__;

Samurai Jack Mar 8, 2006 08:46 PM

Eh, not really. They don't really cost too much now-a-days. 30k at the most. However, I can understand 30k can be a bit much especially since you have to start over from scratch. I'm sorry that had to happen, I feel for ya. =(

Marco Mar 8, 2006 08:49 PM

When you have a level 20 you can put 5k on storage and have your lower character ran whereever you want. That makes the game go like that. When you start all over... Man, gonna take a while.

All my friends, and I myself, have gone through the same thing. Playing Post is just such a terrible, ugly experience. It's also added to the fact that you're now a total noob in a not so nice land.

I didn't like post ascalon.

Samurai Jack Mar 8, 2006 09:11 PM

Funny enough, I don't like to be ran unless I'm using a mage character. I had gotten my monk ran to all the outposts in the desert area because using henchmen is a pain. It'll probably be the same thing with my mesmer once I get him out of Pre-Searing. However, as far as low-level areas, I don't mind fighting all the mobs. It gives my character more exp, and it gives me a chance to break him/her in. As of right now, I can't really do anything because my video card is fubared, =\. So until that's fixed, I can't help anyone.

Turbo Mar 9, 2006 09:52 PM

So I picked up the Factions Pre-Order a few hours ago. And.... Thats all

Wudo Ascended E/Mo20
Apotheosis of Wudo W/Mo20

I play on USeast.

Im really looking forward to factions. Itll be a breath of fresh air to this game.

So what do you guys think? I see potential in the Berserker Armor and Legionniar's, however Sentinel's is pretty hefty to get the full 100 armor. My warrior hardly uses strength, let alone 13 of it. The ranger armor could be useful as well. Not sure what sets of armor to get rid of to make room for these new armors. This'll be a problem. =o

Rollins Mar 11, 2006 03:32 AM

Looking good. I guess I'll have to get off my duff and pre-order Factions soon. I figure I'll buy the game anyway, so I might as well get it with all the cool bonuses they're offering.

Just slowly making my way through the game, hit the gates of Kryta yesterday although I failed the mission when I tried to do it with henchmen (the regular players weren't biting on my LFG requests).

I'm interested in looking for a guild now. I guess until we organize ourselves into a guild here (if that ever happens), what should I be looking for in a guild? There seem to be plenty of people shouting for people to join their guild, but it's hard to differentiate. But I figure since guilds are such an important part of the game, I should get on board soon enough.

Turbo Mar 11, 2006 12:18 PM

So I got to use the /preorder command and get my special items... They look pretty neat, and have nice mods as well.

Still no pre-orders available here haha not fair at all, I want my wooden dream catcher damnit >_>

Man_of_Pie Mar 12, 2006 10:25 PM

I've got me 4 characters
lvl20 R/Me Eastern Fury
lvl20 Mo/Me Master Jhong
lvl20 W/E Rei Jenron
lvl20 E/Me Zasalamel X I I I

I was starting to get kinda bored of this game but I found a new hobby. Basically what I do is I go to Thunderheadkeep with my monk and I start spamming "Healer/Betrayal Monk LFG" or "Betrayal Monk LFG" Then when a group adds me I tell them that I'm gonna betray and leave once the mission begins and the groups that are foolish enough to let me stay are in for a surprise. I know I know... I'm a prick. But I find it funny.

Turbo Mar 12, 2006 11:00 PM

You could be banned for that if one of the players decides to send a warning thigny to Anet... well, not banned but a warning or whatever. You may want to delete one o those characters to make room for factions beta event (if you're planning on trying it out).

Man_of_Pie Mar 12, 2006 11:12 PM

Don't they give you 2 extra slots or something?

Turbo Mar 12, 2006 11:21 PM

You get the two extra slots if you decide to link your acuonts once factions is released. For the PvE weekend event, you have to use one of the four slots given to you if you wish to try playing an assasin or ritualist in Cantha.

Funny thing is, I know some monks who join the THK mission so they can farm the chests at the end, and then leave. Those chests have some decent drops so...:X

Turbo Mar 13, 2006 09:09 AM

Hey Kitty, when can you get me an invite into that noob training PvP guild?

Excrono Mar 13, 2006 10:40 PM

So I go to login for some late FoW action only to find this:

http://excrono.dyndns.org:4249/excro...le/gwerror.jpg

Without a doubt, some people are going to end up being overnight millionaires becasue of this (for a few hours at least, lol). And to think, I was only hours away from 100g. ecto at the merchant. :(

Samurai Jack Mar 13, 2006 10:56 PM

I've been following up on what happened and basicly something happened to the gaming server that caused the traders to reset the values of all runes and items. People saw this and took advantage, causing the most popular of the runes and rare crafting materials to sell out. In a nut shell, the economy went to hell in a hand-basket. In order to correct it, A-Net rolled back the state of the game to right before the error happened. Everything that was bought will be put back on the shelves, prices will return to normal, gold spend is refunded, and any kick ass drops that one had gotten in the time period will be lost. =\

value tart Mar 13, 2006 11:01 PM

Forgive me for being a complete noob to this game, but vendor and merchant are not the same thing, are they?

(I have a level... 6, I think, N/E named Filarun Melandaro. I'm still getting the ropes of this game and I want to understand WHY I CAN'T PLAY RIGHT NOW)

Samurai Jack Mar 13, 2006 11:05 PM

Basicly. Merchants would be the NPCs to buy salvaging kits and the like from while vendors/traders are where you can buy runes, crafting materials, and dyes from.

*AkirA* Mar 15, 2006 12:08 AM

Lol about the whole reset thing. I bet GW went crazy for a few hours.

Lacerta Mar 15, 2006 02:31 AM

I like how this time it was unintentional.

Marco Mar 15, 2006 02:46 PM

It did go crazy... I was there... People were stuck inside towns, they could trade, and all the runes were like seven dollars...

Pretty crazy shit.

It all started with a guy going "WTF, NO MORE RUNES?!," too.

Rollins Mar 20, 2006 01:58 AM

I like how it made me have to do a quest all over, right after I finished ;___;

I succumbed and pre-ordered Factions. Looking forward to wasting more of my time when I'm not even done with the main game yet.

Kitty Mar 20, 2006 07:59 AM

Well this weekend, starting the 24th, Guild Wars is giving their preview of Factions.

So, you might as well try it out if you are unsure about getting it. :P

Lacerta Mar 20, 2006 12:03 PM

The damn thing still isn't available for preordering over here.

I'm starting to think they don't want me to get Factions.

Man_of_Pie Mar 21, 2006 10:43 PM

I just started playing again doing some serious questing. I did some quests where I went around with some guildies and we eliminated some freak'in annoying Titans. Those things don't play around those battles were intense. But exhilerating Whew!! I wanna do it again.

Turbo Mar 24, 2006 04:07 AM

Cantha has just been opened to the public. Anyone can make a new roleplaying character and start off in Cantha.

First impressions? God damn beautiful. I'll nab plenty of screenshots tomorrow when I have more time to look around. I can say the world is huge. Big open spaces, green, and dont forget the hundreds of monsters to fight. Its a great getting into the game feeling.

Anyways, 4am. more to come tomorrow.

Slash Mar 24, 2006 05:47 AM

holy Crap! 5000 files left to dl..angst!

Double Post:
Factions is sooo beautiful...

Wakatu Mar 24, 2006 11:14 AM

Factions is just amazing, I haven't done much for the PvE, but it does look very beautiful =D

Now, the core of it all is the PvP which is insanely fun. You have 2 nations, Luxon and Kruzick, who are at it with each other and you can join up in these alliances with them fighting with others to take over lands. The battles are huge, it's 12v12 and you win by taking over keypoints of the map and killing, when you win with whoever you choose, they take over a bit of the land in the map. Currently Kruzick(:edgarrock:) took a nice chunk from Luxon.

Turbo Mar 24, 2006 11:25 AM

The thing that sucks about it though, is that if you're guildless, or if your guild has no interest in the PvP part, you're going to be missing out on alot of the big map battles. I'm guildless so I'm stuck with doing the tons of missions right now.
But yeah, game is beautiful. I'll be taking alot of screenshots today.

Rollins Mar 24, 2006 12:32 PM

Ahh, to either actually enjoy my spring break weekend or spend locked up inside my room playing Factions.

Haha, it's a tough call.

Lacerta Mar 24, 2006 01:25 PM

The skills are all hacked up XD

I wonder how long until the nerf bat hits them, some of the skills can be so easily abused it's not even funny.

*AkirA* Mar 24, 2006 03:19 PM

I love the assassin. The way the character moves and plays is so fluent. Havent had much time with the ritualist yet.

Samurai Jack Mar 25, 2006 03:47 PM

Woo! That was pretty awsome. If I must recommend something about Factions is that the Alliance battles kick so much arse. 12 on 12 free for all, I was on the Luxon side and we won 502-310. It was great being able to use my warrior from Tyria to aid their struggle ^_^.

Man_of_Pie Mar 25, 2006 06:53 PM

It's pretty sweet that you can have one of the Tengu warriors fighting alongside you and you can get tigers and crabs and shit as pets. I saw this awesome White Tiger roaming around but I didn't get to nab it cuz my fucking party members killed it after it started attacking me while I used Charm Animal.

Menzoberranzan Mar 26, 2006 09:41 AM

I am so gonna get a Black Moa pet when Factions is released...

Or maybe a tiger...

Ahh!

Kitty Apr 5, 2006 08:02 AM

So have anyone been interested in th GWFC tournament at all?
Since this is the end of round one's qualifying section, the guild ladder is currently locked. The matches are supposed to take place this weekend.

Who is everyone rooting for? :D

I'm sad that EvIL and Te ended up in the same bracket. :<

Turbo Apr 5, 2006 10:00 AM

Are you in one of them? :p Im still guildless btw, just started a new Necro/Monk, got him to yaks last night.

Kenichi Apr 5, 2006 12:50 PM

I'm confused about Factions. Exactly what kind of game is it? I have Guild Wars, is this game an expansion, a sequel, or does it contain Guild Wars with enhancements and more features like, say, MGS3:Subsistence is to MGS3? If so, is it even worth keeping Guild Wars when I get this?

Not really, since I already have an idea of who is going to take the glory. Although I will keep my eyes out for certain matchups so I can see how they have adapted to the current metagame, or if they're still slugging around like snails and haven't figured out the proper adaptations necessary to pull a win.

Factions is supposed to be a stand-alone expansion. You do not need Prophecies (Guild Wars) to play or enjoy this game, but it might be in your best benefit to put the two together to continue the adventures of your mighty Tyrian hero/heroine. If you did not have Prophecies and just got Factions (or have Prophecies and don't want Factions) you wouldn't be missing out on anything storywise, as the two are not related at all. However those who do link the two together will get added benefits, such as being able to have double skills (one from Prophecies and one from Factions) which open up a new era of cheapness that will result in more nerf batting of the Elementalist.

I'm probably going to wait a month or two before getting Factions, so all the retardation can weed itself out during 12v12, and all the backstabbers will find one side to stick to permanently.

Kenichi Apr 5, 2006 02:04 PM

Ah. I think I've only played PvP maybe once, I guess because I'm not in a Guild yet or anything so it's kinda boring. I'll probably get Factions for PvE, like I did with Prophecies.

I've been doing alot of guild hopping >.> I try to organize things, help people through PvE, ask for help on PvP and they're all "GTFO" so I leave >.<

Are there no more good helpfull guilds ;____;

Rollins Apr 5, 2006 04:21 PM

I've been pretty disenchanted with the guild system. The first one I was in was pretty much just a group of friends that I happened to fall into just because I partied with them one time. I left them pretty quickly.

I figured it would be more exciting than what I'm experiencing now. However, I'm only just now getting into PvP since I've finished the PvE campaign so I might actually be able to get into the GvG aspect of my guild.

But for other things, such as for being helpful, it's more dependent on how many people are on at a given time =/ More people = More chance someone has the answer.

For the longest time I didn't know how to call targets >_>

phatmastermatt Apr 5, 2006 08:09 PM

All I do in Guild Wars nowadays is try and find money and unlock skills. There's really nothing more important once you've done pretty much everything. My next goal is going to be the Underworld and Fissure of Woe and getting more experienced in PvP.

...WHY

Ahaha, poor Kitty :p I thought this one would be held in Seatle, but germany? :p They give all the european players the fun.

Oh, does anet pay for your flights? Or do you have to manage all that.

Kenichi Apr 6, 2006 12:44 PM

Is the GamingForce guild still up? If it is, is anyone actually active in it? I wouldn't mind being in a guild, but it would be cool to be in one with ppl I've actually met outside the game.

Turbo Apr 6, 2006 01:54 PM

XHG has died a few months after it started. Kitty is in.. one of the top ranking guilds, Lace is in some other guild and I'm guildless again, but hoping to get into CT (Crossing Tyria).

Its always fun to have someone you know in the same guild as you, but its also hard to maintain. It gets borring, you dont play for a while, or you decide to leave.

Because if they let you participate then there would be no contest =P

Josiah Apr 20, 2006 04:33 AM

Whew! Finally got another video card so I'm back again. I've put my characters back in my signature now.

Adamgian Apr 20, 2006 07:55 PM

It's been a while since I posted in here.

As far as I'm concerned, DSB died when Kitty left. It still exists last I checked a few months ago, but thats about it. I'll play a bit over the summer and buy Factions maybe.

Grawl Apr 26, 2006 09:10 AM

I just ordered the collector's edition of Factions. Can't wait to play the assassin. Too bad I'm way too late with pre-ordering to get my pre-order box tomorrow =p

Rollins Apr 26, 2006 11:56 AM

Well, I heard they delayed the release of the Collector's Edition anyway. It looks like I should still be able to enjoy the pre-release event since I got the Pre-Order disk but this the whole 10-day grace period makes me wary of investing too hard into a character that might get deleted if my Collector's Edition doesn't arrive in time >_>

My interest in GW has sadly died off. I think I just got busy with work/other games, but I figure a good injection of Factions should help me out.

And why does everyone not want a W/Mo? ;_; (I do know they're everywhere). I was working on a N/Me before I stopped playing in hopes of actually getting into some parties, haha. I want to try HoH, but I got stopped at Team Arenas.

Grawl Apr 26, 2006 11:58 AM

How can it be delayed if the copies are shipped?

Rollins Apr 26, 2006 12:08 PM

Wait, WTF.

I just got a mail from Gamestop saying that my copy would delayed. Where did you get yours?

Edit: http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=394817

Grawl Apr 26, 2006 12:25 PM

Well if that is true, I'll just order the normal version of the game tomorow, no worries there.

edit: just called the store - they are going to find it out for me.

edit 2: A post from NCSoft on various fansites:

Firstly, we'd like to apologise for not having a response for you sooner. We've spent the day since we became aware of this issue gathering as much accurate information as possible before passing it on to you. We're continuing to follow up, but there is some information I can share now.

I can confirm there have been some shipping and distribution delays on the Factions Collector's Edition. We're working around-the-clock to shorten these delays, and to have the CE on shelves wherever possible on the 28th. This is not a global delay as some of you have been told, but we will keep you informed as the situation changes.

I can confirm that the Factions Standard Edition will be available worldwide on the 28th.

I'll keep you informed over the next few days with updates as they become available. Right now, the above is all I can provide.

Grawl Apr 27, 2006 10:09 AM

I got my hands on a pre-order key (won a contest, Turbo =p) and currently playing as assassin (A Sas In). I'm thinking of changing my secondary profression to Ranger.

Turbo, you playing tonight?

gaara-chan May 1, 2006 06:30 AM

So, I kind of got back into GW (my WoW account expired yesterday, and I don't feel like paying for this again).

My N/E is currently stuck at Thunderhead Keep. I just tried the mission with a PuG, and we were owned at the fortress (few ran off somewhere else, thus owned). Mission doesn't appear to be that difficult, but if someone's willing to help me out, I'd really appreciate it :)

Oh, and I think I'll pick up Factions sometime later this week.

Grawl May 1, 2006 09:29 AM

Me and Gaara formed a new guild - Serious Business!

We are aiming at pure fun, and not the bullshit of being active. Everyone is welcome to join, and there are no restrictions after that. Who is joining?

I'll help... Its perfectly doable with henchies, bonus included, it just takes a bit of time and patience. I'll see if I can get a friend or two to help out as well.

Slash May 1, 2006 01:15 PM

I won't be on factions for about another week, I want my damn collectors edition lol.

Excrono May 1, 2006 06:16 PM

I have been playing Factions since Friday with the pre-order access key. I did have the collectors edition on pre-order but got shafted by its delay in release (if I wait then I would be at risk of loosing my new characters) so I went with the standard version. I have really been enjoying the campaign thus far on the starter island. The assassin class is really fun to play, what with the chained attacks and being able to teleport around and all. I was also able to take my Monk over to Cantiha and made a killing on the inflated materials prices. I had about 97 steel ingots stockpiled when I stopped playing a month ago, so I made a ton offloading them at 300g-400g. each.

Currently I am up to the second mission area (Zen Daijun) and need to do quests in that area. So if anyone catches me on I would be happy to help with quests/missions etc.

Rollins May 2, 2006 01:06 AM

Aww, I would so be in if you could spread characters among different guilds =/ Maybe after my inevitable kicking ^^;

Phew! Looks like my hard work will be safe as I wait for Collector's to arrive. I'll have to take a break from Factions for a couple days, but nothing I can't handle. I'm just wondering if I'll be able to still sneak into Cantha with my original characters.

Interestingly though, I've found the game a bit easy to play with my A/Mo. With everyone pretty much playing an Assassin, it's been hard to find a party, so I usually end up going through with a bunch of henchies. I feel that you get to level 20 pretty damn quick though, since all the quests feel like giving you loads of xp (although some of them do deserve it =/ ). I haven't been trying to rush through the game, but I feel like one could just breeze by through it if they had a reasonable amount of skill.

The reason why the monastary island rushes you to level 20, is because once you reach the mainland, you'll be running into huge mobs (10, 15 guys) all lvl 20 and above, and the difficulty gets ramped right up to near impossible.

"In prophecies, it was all about getting there, in Factions, you're already there"

Rollins May 2, 2006 02:29 PM

In that case, then I feel like Factions does not merit its price tag. While I understand this is how NCSoft is going to make its money from the game, $50 for a quick expansion seems a bit much, especially if it only promises a few hours of gaming time.

But then again, GW was never really hyping its single player aspect, it's all about the multiplayer, so I understand the direction to go with a (seemingly) shorter storyline with Factions.

Heck, they had some of those insane mob quests on monastery island in any case. There are a few I haven't even thought of touching until I get up to 20.

Turbo May 2, 2006 03:27 PM

Thats not how it is at all.

Here's a quick summary of the game, as how I experienced it. You make a new lvl 1 character in Cantha. You start on the monastary island, and it quickly brings you into an imersive story. You do training, quests, (quests that give you 3500-5000 exp) which quickly boost up your level. Think of the monastary as the original pre-sear. The reason they get you to lvl 20 quickly, because, well.. the mainland is very difficult.

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/219/gw0510he.th.jpg
thats the monastary island, and its quite big... you'll spend a good 5-6 hours there, doing all the quests.

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/3262/gw0348zw.th.jpg
this is the mainland. its smaller then tyria, but its alot more dense. There are alot of towns, outposts, missions, and a boat load of quests. BUt once again, very difficult mobs. all lvl 20 and above. Dont expect to survive there if you're not lvl 18 or higher.

Think of it as story line too.. Prophecies was starting out as a new recruit, following the storyline across the mountains, getting to Lions Arch, you're level 20, and then you get swept up in the new storyline that unfolds with the white mantle and all that.. Then you ascend, and it just keeps going.

Factions, is you start, new recruit, but there are already bad things happening on the island, and they push you to grow quickly, so when you get to the mainland, you'll stand a fighting chance against the multitudes of enemies. Factions by far, is not a short game. There is an equal amount of content, and is equal in length as well. Ignore the whole "but you get to lvl 20 in 4 hours" level 20 means nothing. Its all about skills in this game.

If you want to see a fully explored map of Cantha, you can do so Here
</rant>

Josiah May 2, 2006 10:00 PM

How exactly do you get your characters from the Prophecies Campaign to Cantha? I've been asking people but nobody ever seems to answer.

EDIT: Ah! Thanks, much appreciated, Rollins.

Turbo May 5, 2006 01:12 AM

Wow, wtf is that? >.> A chicken? thing? Thats neat.

Samurai Jack May 5, 2006 01:32 AM

That is a phoenix. You can grab one after you finish the last mission. =)

Turbo May 5, 2006 01:37 AM

Luxon or Kurzick side? Dude, thats awsome, and is enough to make me want to make a ranger.

Samurai Jack May 5, 2006 02:41 AM

Ah....I shouldn't give a way spoiliers =p. Let's just say either way you go, it'll be the same ending.

Turbo May 5, 2006 04:02 AM

Awsome. I'm only at.. uh, I got to the temple place, where that ghost assasin girl is. Not that far I know, I've been taking my time :P

Kitty May 7, 2006 09:40 AM

QUICK CHECK!

How far has everyone gotten? I've been busy with finals and friends and such, so I haven't gotten very far on my E/Rt.

I don't like the undercity much for Factions, and how it was set up. I mean, you have these same couple types of guys, and your job in a lot of silly side missions is to kill the same thing over and over again. Also, it frustrates me not being able to run to mission spots and being forced to complete the most roundabout quests in order to get inside a town. I know they're trying to stop runners and farmers and such, but it seriously is killing the game.

Besides, having to pay for every skill now, instead of unlocking with quests, gets pricy, and I know a lot of people who don't have the money to keep up with it.

Turbo May 7, 2006 10:38 AM

I've only gotten to the temple where you meet the ghost assasin lady person. Not too far either.

I don't mind that there are no skill quests, and I think its not too expensive to get them. Its not like you need to buy every skill given to you. Only the ones you need, when you need them... The most expensive investment I put into factions so far was buying each of the secondary professions. That was a bummer, but a few quests and selling loot got me back the money I spent so s'all good.

Prinnydood May 10, 2006 07:12 PM

Just recently started playing Guild Wars again after a good 3 month break..decided to try out the new updates(dont plan on getting Factions though) since some of them seemed worth playing for.

Was wondering about mini-pets that I keep seeing every so often: How exactly do you get one? Does a character have to be 12 months old or can the account in general be 12 months old?

Btw if anyone wants to play I'm up for anything...PM Huggable Snuggables or Oh Fiddles =)

Your character has to be 12 months old for them to receive the mini-pet in their inventory. Think of them as birthday presesnts. Also, if you buy the Factions Collectors edition, you'll get a minipet from that.

Ekon May 11, 2006 04:09 PM

Could you like go out and buy a collector's edition of factions and add the key and still get the pet even if you already have a factions key on your account?

Adamgian May 12, 2006 10:55 AM

This is highly unfortunate, but due to the fact that I'm at school, I can't play Guild Wars anymore and haven't been for a while (damn school networks). However, Summer is once again approaching, and I hope to play. Is it worth getting however, considering my former involvement with Guild Wars (Kitty and others who were around a year ago probably remember...)?

Yes, I believe you can. Find a store that has the collectors edition first :P

Slash May 12, 2006 12:02 PM

I got mine at bestbuy believe it or not

russ May 12, 2006 12:54 PM

I went into Gamestop yesterday and was like "sup, you got Guild Wars Factions Collector's Edition" and the guy was like "We have one in the back but it was someone's preorder." Of course I asked "Shouldn't he have picked it up by now? It's been a couple weeks." So he is like "You know, good point. Let me check. Oh hey, here you go." So now I have it. Yeah he was a good kid.

Slash May 12, 2006 03:29 PM

HAHA...nice!

Samurai Jack May 12, 2006 04:03 PM

Sucks to be that kid. =p

Slash May 12, 2006 04:21 PM

The one sad thing is that GW Factions Collectors isn't a huge popular thing or theyd be selling big on ebay.

russ May 12, 2006 05:37 PM

It's pretty rad too. It has a whole lot of useless but nonetheless fun and cool stuff in it. Like a bitchin art book. And STICKERS. God, stickers are like my kryptonite.

Slash May 12, 2006 08:51 PM

I like the mousepad and the desk calendar

Ekon May 15, 2006 05:50 PM

Does anyone else experience massive amounts of disconnects when playing the game? This is just insane, every hour or so I'll end up losing my connection to the server and be forced to start over on whatever quest I was doing, this makes missions a pain in the ass =/

Slash May 15, 2006 05:53 PM

I'm not. Where are you playing though

Ekon May 15, 2006 05:56 PM

From the U.S. in California, this is the only game I can think of where I've had so many disconnects, WoW/EverQuest/Ragnarok/Counter-Strike don't even come close to how many times I lag and lose my connection =(

Slash May 15, 2006 05:58 PM

By where I mean home, school or what and what service are you using for the internet

Ekon May 15, 2006 06:04 PM

I'm playing from my home, using a cable connection. ISP is Charter Communications, it doesn't seem to matter if I use my router or just connect directly the problem still occurs =| (no firewall running either)

Slash May 15, 2006 06:06 PM

I've heard from people that Charter is crap.

Yes. Many people in my alliance have been getting disconnects since a week before the factions release. It is really annoying that they said they would implement reconnects on the gw website, yet we haven't seen that happen either.

Error 7ing in the GWFC sucks, and especially with elite missions that takes hours to do, it really, really sucks.

Samurai Jack May 16, 2006 01:28 PM

I havn't experenced a lot of disconnects, just massive amounts of lag. The worse are the House zu Heltzer, Cavalon, Kaineng Center, Breaker Hollow, and Brauer Academy. The House is just unbelievably laggy, I can't move 3 feet without experiencing lag, nor leave the area without taking more than 2 minutes. x_x;

Mine is:
Nakilius Vemorisa, American Server, lvl 16 [non-factions]

I have just purchased factions and have readily started playing again with a couple of my friends. Upon logging on I have discovered that I have been made guild leader of the DSB clan X_X. There isn't too many regulars who frequent the game in the clan and I was wondering if anyone would like to invite me and my 3 friends into their clans.

Turbo May 20, 2006 02:24 PM

It is pretty much dead every since Kitty left it. Just open the guild screen, and then click on the icon next to your own name to leave. You're welcome to join SeBu.

edit: well everyone who wants to join, leave your name behind (in-game name, that is) and the invitations will get spread.

Slash May 28, 2006 04:44 PM

Grawl May 31, 2006 12:09 PM

Well you got invited a few days ago ;p

Grawl Jun 1, 2006 01:18 PM

Let's make this a bit more official;

SeBu (Serious Business) is recruiting new members. Everyone is welcome, and we are just about fun. No tight schedules for doing runs, no need to be online 24/7. You just play whenever you want. At the moment we don't have a cape or hall, but once the guild gets more serious, we will get them. I'm the leader, but Gaara is the co-leader. If you want to join, PM me, leave a message here or find me (Grawlius Retardus) in-game.

Kitty Jun 1, 2006 03:48 PM

OMG, I should move one of my accounts into there ^_^
Serious Business is a good name!

Samurai Jack Jun 1, 2006 07:02 PM

What is the allegance of your guild? Me and my friends are looking to either join an alliance or recrute more into our guild. We're allined with the Kurzicks so let me know if your guild is interested in forming an alliance.

Grawl Jun 1, 2006 07:10 PM

Because Gaara is incredibly slow Because Gaara has been busy we didn't proceed far into the game. So far we entered the mainland, and didn't join any side yet. I have no problem with going with the Kurzicks, so an alliance is possible.

HitokiriSoujiro Jun 5, 2006 01:21 AM

Hmm well DSB is currently dead, the only people who frequent it are me and my 4 other friends, If you don't mind I suggest we merge the two guilds (at least we will have capes and a guild hall). I'll even make you the guild leader, I just want to have more active people that I can play with and have fun with.

I'm currently finished with the game on my assassin/monk and have been pvping at random arenas/fort aspenwood for the past 2 weeks...im kinda bored now :P

Slash Jun 5, 2006 01:40 AM

I was actually thinkin that we should like...kick everyone out of DSB that have been inactive for GOD KNOWS how long cept a few then rebuild the DSB

HitokiriSoujiro Jun 5, 2006 01:51 AM

Lol yeah...like 20 of the remaining members have been active for like 8 months x_X.. oh wellz one of them is my friend and im trying to convince him to get factions :P. Hopefully we could merge the two guilds together and form a more enjoyable playing community.

If you can make me leader, that'd be great. It'll save a lot of money and we get to keep the cool name. What's your in-game name and/or can you add me to MSN/AIM?

edit: silly me. I just left SeBu, can you invite me into DSB now?

HitokiriSoujiro Jun 5, 2006 12:36 PM

I'm usually on Kuro Ranger Yankumi or any of my other characters in my sig, my aim is Us3rUnknown. I'll try to catch you in game or on AIM (speaking of which, i'll need your sn too) to add you as Guild Leader.

Grawl Jun 5, 2006 01:01 PM

Alright, things are settled now. Whoever wants to join is welcome to do so. DSB is back! =D

Slash Jun 5, 2006 01:51 PM

Samurai Jack Jun 5, 2006 02:36 PM

Hehe, so I take you guys havn't gotten far enough to reach the Kurzick territories yet right? I'll be on all day tomorrow so let me know if you guys are still interested in the alliance. I'm sorry but the previous guild-leader set us to Luxo (I believe), so an alliance isn't possible, unless it's possible to change it.

Ah I see, I'm not 100% sure you can change sides once you've chosen, but it's alright. Maybe we'll be seeing eachother on the battlefield =p. Outside that, I'm always avalible to help with PvE.

I'm new to the game and I want to test it before i spend 40$ for each part of it. I was wondering if any of you have Trial Key to spear and give it to me so I can test the game and if I like it buy the full version with key.

So the question is: Do anyone have trial key to GW?

Check your private messages for a Prophecies trial key.

I will also be avalible to join DSB pretty soon here, if I can convince my guild leader to give up his guild and head on over with me. I am a Luxon with an Assassin up though the Unwaking Waters mission so I can help out
with any quests up to that.

OMG!! Thanks a lot!! I'll use it well =D I really look forward to GW and hope I like it and start playing =) after Lineage 2 and WoW it will be something new for me =D or now =P anyway I'll test GW and RF and decide witch to chose.

Arigato!!

B4-Hunter Jun 8, 2006 03:40 PM

*Phew* First day or GW Trial sponsored by Excrono is almost over! Tested most of characters while mixing classes and skills. Game looks awesome and even with everything on maximum my damn slow and old PC allow me to move and play a little =D. But to get full pleasure from pure gameplay I use medium settings =). So far my favorite class mix is Ranger & Warrior and Elementals & Necromancer. Trial is to short to see if I'm right but for now those both characters give me a lot of fun =).

I can't stop playing but knowing that you only have 10 hours to play makes me cry =(. It will take some time to get all the cash I need but I'll get it for 100% =).

Awesome thing in GW is that it eat not much CPU resources, many short loading are way better then huge lands loading while walking on them. GW is the only MMORPG that works great on my PC. Shame that every time you are entering new place you need to download few things. For my connection it's quite a task!

That's the cool thing about the game. You won't download any update unless you need it (streaming). If you never reach a part of the game, you'll never download that update. It's very gentle with your connection that way. For other MMORPGs you need to get a big update (think of World of Warcraft) whereas these are small and fast to get.

Yeah you're right. Anyway I'll leave PC online for night and download rest of the game =). Then after I'll need anything it will just decompress it self and not download. Back to PvP testing =).

Tortalius Jun 11, 2006 11:08 PM

I might come back. I've reinstalled the game, but who knows if it'll grab me again. the lack of community killed me the first time, and it might kill me again.

phatmastermatt Jun 13, 2006 02:42 PM

I can't seem to find any good guilds or groups to play with. I played in a guild with some local friends for a while, but they really didn't do much, maybe I'll play with you guys sometime soon. My characters are...

Master Phat R Lvl 20
Necrotic Chaotic N/E Lvl 20
Ritual Habitual Rt/Me Lvl 20
Aranel Dorthonion Mo/Me Lvl 20
Wilibald Brandybuck W/Mo Lvl 20

B4-Hunter Jun 14, 2006 03:09 AM

Just got account froma friend and I'm playing with EL/NM. For now I'm level 8 and just got to Ruins of Ascalon. There is a lot of work to do. Soon I'll get my copy of the game.

Kitty Jun 18, 2006 06:50 PM

How's it going guys? Give up playing yet? :P
Factions is so easy, seriously. I've gotten 5 pve characters through in this game, with tons of 15k armor. ^_^

Not too many people msg'd me in game! Pretty much grawl did once and some guy named man of pie (who said he got banned from the forums lol)

Anyone interested in gvging yet? =)

Slash Jun 18, 2006 08:35 PM

I haven't been on mainly because I'm in California...wooot

B4-Hunter Jun 19, 2006 01:27 AM

I'm playing from some time on basic GW. My character name is Spellhowler Erana and I'm E/Ne 13. If you're in DSB I'm there to so PM me =P.

HitokiriSoujiro Jun 19, 2006 06:14 AM

Yup the game seems pretty easy, i've been occupying myself with furnace/urgoz/deep/uw and trying to obtain fissure armor once again.

Slash Jun 19, 2006 12:03 PM

So who wants to help me rush the entire game when I get back ^_^ :-p lol

BLINKYPOLARBEAR Jun 20, 2006 07:46 PM

I just bought the game!!! What's the best class to start out as? I picked a warrior/monk since it seemed like the best combo.

Ah, W/Mo is a good starting combo. Nice self-heals and playing a warrior doesn't require too much difficulty, just becareful with how you play, you're not invicible. Most W/Mo's in the game seem to have that in their heads >_>;

B4-Hunter Jun 21, 2006 03:58 AM

Soon I'll get my sticky hands on both Guild Wars and Guild Wars Fractions!! Shame that they don't sell it as an set to get it cheaper. Till then I'm using my friends account and was posting character name earlier.

Can't wait to start playing on my own =). Grawl I will need you to keep my stuff till I get my game. Thanks mate =D.

I don't know if it was posted already but I'm buying GW & GWF. While checking online prices I found this beautiful set:

Guild Wars Factions: Collector's Edition
http://www.gram.pl/upl/artykul/120060428161813.jpg

Shame that it only contains GWF =(

For GW + GWF without discount I would pay 80$ for this set alone 80$. There is discount since my friend was buying games on one of Polish online shops so for GW + GWF after discount I pay 63$ and for set 60$.

Anyway it's only a lot of colorful papers from GWF nothing more =P That's why I just buy GW + GWF =).

Cirno Jun 26, 2006 03:57 AM

So, even though I'm really digging World of Warcraft right now, I'm very interested in what Guild Wars has to offer.

My big problem is hardware. My PC is currently down and out, but I may take it to the shop to see what I can do with it. I play WoW on my parents' mac. It's no G5, but it seems to be able to run WoW just dandy. So I'm wondering, with my lack of a PC, are there any plans at all for Guild Wars to make the jump to mac?

Also, I can't seem to confirm this, but how many people can play on one server? Is it really just a few guilds against one another?

Grawl Jun 26, 2006 05:27 AM

No, Guild Wars won't come to Mac. Also, what are you talking about? 'Just a few guillds'?

B4-Hunter Jun 26, 2006 05:38 AM

Guild Wars and Guild Was Factions are lying on my desk right now. Only problem is that they are lying at home and I'm at work. Today will start my own adventure in to the Guild Wars world.

I'll be sure to finish it al 100% so it will take me some time till I get to the proper game you all guys are. I want to stay a little in 2 years earlier Ascalon and finish all quests and stuff. I think my character will be "Be For Hunter" and as always in MMORPG's I'll use female for it. It's just better to watch woman back for the time you play and not some guy =P.

In the spirit of celebration, adventurers on the continent of Cantha are cordially invited to the Dragon Festival, a summer festival with all the trimmings!

After the destruction wrought by the Jade Wind, the newly crowned Emperor Hanjai (the eldest son of the assassinated emperor) oversaw the settlement of Shing Jea Island and the expansion of Kaineng City. The following summer, Emperor Hanjai dedicated a new Dragon Festival to commemorate the survival of the Empire of the Dragon.

Participants in the Dragon Festival can join in fun carnival-type games (Whack-A-Worm, anyone?), play new mini-missions and special PvP gameplay, undertake unique quests, and collect Asian-flavored treats such as red bean cakes and rice wine. Ceremonial Dragon Masks will be awarded to those players who are able to collect enough globes filled with the Jade Wind essence that changed Cantha two hundred year ago. The conclusion of the Dragon Festival will be marked with surprises true Canthans won't want to miss.

Taking place in and around the Shing Jea Monastery on June 30, 2006 at 7:00 GMT and running through July 5, 2006 at 7:00 GMT, the Dragon Festival is an exclusive weekend event for Guild Wars Factions players.

Just some recent news.

Grawl Jun 26, 2006 01:09 PM

Also, my first character got his pet - a miniature burning titan.

They sure know how to schedule those events. Why must it interfere with me enjoying time away from the computer! Argh.

I just did =P I think I'll get back to European district. On American I have quite a lot of lag's especially at night when most of players are online. Besides my brother have friend in Europe and would like to play with them on my account.

Besides I can't see much members of DSB online =P and I would like to have someone to play with =) We can always play on International district of we will be going on hunt or something. Game is awesome anyway.

Yeah, but almost every district wins. It's amazing to see how there are like 230 districts iin Shing Jea Monastery.

I've collected about 300 or so presents today, and I'm trying to get my lucky and unlucky titles. :D

BTW, does anyone have the Battle Pak/Bonus Songs in OST 1/Mini Pak as mp3/mpc files? I've been trying to find them, but no luck. :<

I scored about 40k off the whole celebration. I got about 30k off it by camping present spawns, and the rest by selling Jade Wind orbs.

solman Jul 18, 2006 01:47 PM

Well, I've been playing this game for a while now. On and off for over a year. I think I'm ready to dedicate enough time to join a guild now. So, anyone recruiting?

Grawl Jul 18, 2006 02:13 PM

Yes, DSB is.

*AkirA* Jul 20, 2006 04:30 PM

Has anyone noticed the bad rap that Assassins have been getting on Factions?

A poll on some forum said most pick up groups prefer henchies over Assassins.

I have an A/R (stereotypical, I know) that does -10 degeneration on whatever I attack, and I can finish off most enemies with 1 run through of my combo, but I still cant get any groups to even look at me.

I know most assassins think they can be tanks and shit like that, but I honestly think people just dont like the Assassin class.

So, what do you think? Also this threads kinda dead right now anyway lol.

B4-Hunter Jul 21, 2006 05:10 AM

As for guild recruiting on European Server GDS is recruiting I'm officer there and can let you in. Soon we'll get our own town. We're on Kurzick site.

I was playing AB last night and one assassin said that he took out 3 players in a raw without dying. I took him with my ranger in few sec and his assassin friend to. There was two on one and I won. So it's quite hard to say anything about it. I think my self that assassin self made rox but PvP chars made by n00bz are useless.

Musharraf Jul 21, 2006 01:35 PM

I always wanted to play this game, and I guess I will give it a shot; good MMORPGs without a monthly fee are very rare. Holidays are coming up so I will have some time, maybe I will buy it in the next few days. Would be great if I could meet up with some of you ^_^

If someone happens to have an invitation key for me so that I can test the game, that would be more than awesome!

Gechmir Jul 21, 2006 02:39 PM

I'm also planning on buying this soon. I'll probably get the game itself and try it out before planning on snagging the expansion. They're both still relatively pricey on Ebay and Half.com, which is rare to see.

I recommend getting Factions first then picking up the original, main reason is not many people levelup toons via the original game so it can be quite hard to get groups for the missions (not to mention the ability to be 'ran' through the original zone to skip 85% of the missions dosn't help either).

Most people only use the original zones for gear farming or collecting the original only skills for their characters.

Oh and for anybody intrested you can contact me via 'Lady Vizu', I have alot of toons but I'm generally playing my shock warrior in AB/GvG. :)

Samurai Jack Jul 24, 2006 04:20 AM

Well...I would say it's a question of weither you want to learn how to play the game vs power leveling and jumping straight into the game. Granted Factions and Prophicies do have their tutorial areas, it's just with Prophicies, the learning curve of the game is more friendly to the new players; plus the quests yeild free skills (provided you don't get run through the game as Bishop mentioned.) Factions however works differently: true there is a step by step tutorial on how to play the game, but the learning curve is too sharp and new players that don't know the feeling of the game will get put in high level areas early and with little experience on how to handle those areas. Most quests don't give you free skills, but instead, high amounts of experience points. So the choice is this: Prophicies offers free skills with quests, takes longer to level up, more friendly to new players; Factions offers high experience quests, more friendly to experienced players, and a quicker run into the higher level areas of the game.

B4-Hunter Jul 24, 2006 05:16 AM

Yeah GW is about skills and long game play, when GWF is about a lot of experience points and low amount of skills that you have to buy from Skills merchant.

In GW and GWF you can always use Henches so it's ok to do some quests with them. In mission you need players so they will help you get bonus from it or cover your back while holding any quest item. I got both and both are good. I jump from one to another it depends from what I want to do.

The Bishop Jul 24, 2006 08:13 AM

Now that I think of it he's probably correct in the way that Factions kinda throws new players in the deep end even with the new tutorials provided. So yeah, when you get the game convince a friend to do the same so you can play through it together or just try and nab anyone on these boards with a spare character slot and patience/time to run through the game with. I’d volunteer but I’m kinda lacking in the time department at the moment (final year engineering studies ftl!).

*AkirA* Jul 25, 2006 04:12 AM

I would get good ol Guild Wars before I got factions. The story and rhythm is alot better for someone new to the game.

If anything you could get both of them and play them both simultaneously. Its like 2 different games as far as story goes.

Malmer Jul 25, 2006 07:48 AM

I definitely wouldn't start out with Factions either - you'll be missing out on the whole feel of effort evolving your character.
In Factions you'll be max lvl in a day (every single little chore gives you what? 3000XP+). It's pretty clear that it's made for the veterans that don't have the 'time' for lvl'ing up.

My characters-info was lost in the last crash I guess, here they are:

R/Mo Malmer Dane
(lvl 20, ascended, infused - any build)

Mo/E Mjalmnir Mundilfare
(lvl 20, ascended, - Healer with some nuke)

Rt/N Mjalmnir Helblindi
(lvl 20, - MM)

... American server.

B4-Hunter Jul 29, 2006 07:04 PM

I hope that some of you are enjoying PvP event with characters from upcoming Nightfall =D I just tested both new classes and...

Derwish rox =D!! Then don't allow you to make all new char with skills you like but you have two builds for each new class and can test them. Be sure to check it before 30th =D

A crash? When, and what was lost? Did it totally nuke your characters?

I havent played the with the new characters yet (I just looked at skills and characters design), but Ive heard that the dervish is gonna need to be nerfed bad. Alot of angry pvp players.

I like both the new characters, but I thought the Paragon was a worthwhile addition to the group. I expect alot of people spamming "1 Monk and 1 Paragon, then we go."

2 paragons working in succession will be a fine group addition.

There used to be an updated list of people's characters in the first post, but I see it's not enforced this time around.

I have my hands full with trying out the Rt, so I think I'm good till Nightfall is out to try the two new classes...
Any official news on the Assassin and Ritualist being discontinued in future chapters issue?

Atleast its better then GW servers falling apart, lol.

I havent heard anything about them discontinuing the 2 new classes. I would actually prefer they keep them. The more additions to the game they make the larger the roster should be. It may also discourage people from playing them in PvP etc. I also read that they were gonna concentrate more on gameplay additions in future add ons then just new campaigns and characters.

Desert Penguin Aug 23, 2006 05:15 AM

I only have the original Guild Wars (Prophecies) as of now. My sister has both Prophecies and Factions. I might get Factions later on though.

I play European districts. My characters are:

Azmodan Civerb (Monk/Mesmer) - Level 12

Natalya Duriel (Warrior/Ranger) - Level 5

I have not been playing in a long time, but the real problem is that most Assasins try to be the next warrior. Not just most, but almost all. People see this and now do not want any assasins.

But for the record, Rangers are the best.

KnowsNothing Aug 30, 2006 09:37 PM

Just picked this up the other day (Prophecies), and I'm really surprised how fun it is. I didn't expect much.

Anyway, I'm Vincent Ramses, level 2 Elementalist/Mesmer, no guild yet.

*AkirA* Aug 31, 2006 09:32 AM

Ok guys, I just quit GW. I finally said enough and uninstalled it. No hard feelings, I just really need to quit playing. I think I have somewhere near 400 hours for the past year. Thats more then enough of one game for me. I know its not as hardcore as most, but I enjoy the free time.

Anyway, If none of my friends are interested I might throw my account to the wolves.

Turbo Aug 31, 2006 01:37 PM

Nah, keep the acount. Whats good about GW, is that you can stick it on the shelf for as long as you want, then, next summer, or when a new chapter comes out, re-install, stick your e-mail address + pwd in and you're ready to go.

*AkirA* Aug 31, 2006 02:17 PM

Yeah, Im sure ill get an itch to start playing again one day. I would regret having gotten rid of it. As for now though, im glad im done with it.

KnowsNothing Sep 1, 2006 12:26 AM

Hey, I'd like to join a GFF guild like DSB if that's cool. I'm still not totally comfortable with the game yet, but being part of a guild would make me get into it more and hopefully improve. I don't have Factions though (and I happen to be dead broke at the moment), so I can't chill in those regions :(

Again, I'm Vincent Ramses, Elementalist/Mesmer, lvl 4 at the moment. I'm in Ascalon most of the time, American server 1.

Grawl Sep 1, 2006 12:35 AM

The guild isn't active, but I'll add you anyway.

Foshi Sep 3, 2006 11:11 PM

I've had Guild Wars for two days now. It's my first MMORPG and I am enjoying the experience so far. Doing all of the quests by yourself takes a long time and dedication, but I have managed to level up to 9. I'm an Elementalist/Monk and seem to be doing quite good. This game must be massive because the map says that I have only explored about 4% of the game world.

Questions:
I have yet to buy Factions, but what's a good level to start that game at? Is it easier to level up in Factions?

B4-Hunter Sep 4, 2006 03:30 AM

It's a lot easier in Factions. You can get to the Lv.20 in 2-3 days. I have a quick break in GW and keep thinking about WoW... Nightfall will be released on 15 September. I'll get it here month or so later.

The actual game world is massive. It takes a good bit of time to uncover a majority of it. I like how theres places in the game you would never go unless you just decide to explore the map.

As for leveling up in factions, its fast paced with the average mission giving 3000exp. The pacing only seems strange at first, but you appreciate the progression the more you play.

Nightfall will be released on October 27th. Only the pre-release bonus pack is being released on September 15th. It's suppose to come with weapons and some other extras.

I'm hearing that Nightfall's world will be larger than the Prophecies world.

In order to make myself an A/R build I need a zealous bow. Can someone provide me with that?

Double Post:
=O I just ascended my very first Guild Wars char. Now I feel like playing again.

Lacerta Sep 24, 2006 07:22 PM

TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH YOU BUM.

I'll have to check what I have on my chars someday. I remember talking to Kitty and getting the general ideas on what to do for ranger, I don't remember if I actually did them though.

MTGNecro Sep 29, 2006 12:44 AM

Okay, starting this monday, I will have my computer back and upgraded, so I will be back on and able to play ^^

Oh, and I will be picking up Factions in the near future, and nightfall after that(gonna preorder).

Anyone up to playing soon? Anyone have any tips for starting back up?

I have 400ish hours logged, and only my crappy ranger has been ascended, although I have 3 level 20 chars, all prophecies, and all non PvP :P

Another really good trick I learned to get a necro (primary or secondary, doesn't matter) is get to 9ish, and get a runner to Drok's, then outside head right and a group of trolls and Aviacara(I think that is how you spell it) will be fighting, just use putrid explosion to solo kill most of them, head back to Drok's, pop out again, and repeat. I got my necro to level 20 in 8 hours(one day of play >;_;>) like that.

I think I have a Zealous bow on me somewhere. Lemme check when I can, and I will get back to you.

*AkirA* Sep 29, 2006 09:49 AM

I have 400 or so hours, and only 2 of my characters are ascended. I have factions, and me quitting the game to blame for this, but I find becoming ascended inconsequential after you do it the first time.

IdentikitOfEyes Sep 29, 2006 09:41 PM

I have both Guild wars, but I cant really get into them that much. I dont know what it is about the game but I just cant get into it like other MMO's that I play. I am going to by Nightfall though, the thought of haveing a character that loosely replicates the grim reaper sparks my intrest.

Does anyone have any tips on a better way to get into the game? Or atleast a way to enjoy it a little more?

*AkirA* Sep 30, 2006 01:40 PM

Ive had countless friends drop this game because they couldnt get into it.

I found myself playing alot of it with a friend. I usually would get off if no one I knew was on. So try making some buddies, and play with them.

Also keep moving. Keep progressing in the game or you will get complacent and get off after logging on.

MTGNecro Oct 1, 2006 10:21 PM

WOooo! Got my compy back at last!

Going to pick up Factions sonetime this week and pre-order nightfall.

Is there anything I should know having been away from GUild Wars since April?

IdentikitOfEyes Oct 1, 2006 10:56 PM

that you should pre order you Nightfall from some place that will give you the bonus back with the exlusive weapons and other things. thats about it.

Grawl Oct 2, 2006 12:54 AM

yea or just because you'll just get the game for sure. thats about it.

Or learn to use proper English. thats about it.

Lacerta Oct 2, 2006 01:57 AM

It took me like 30 minutes to load a map because I had to download all the files.

Glorious. :(

At least I had fun mowing down those Grawls with my Zealous Shortbow of Warding

Is there a way to just get all the map data downloaded beforehand? :(

Kitty Oct 2, 2006 08:05 AM

The Preorder for Nightfall (maybe I should be talking about this in the other thread, but since it was brought up anyway...) is something that people have to pay for this time around (at least every place I checked is asking for five dollars), because it comes with an extra-character slot (val: 9.99 USD) along with those two crappy preorder items and a minibooklet on the game (that's going to come in the regular Nightfall package anyway).

I bought the preorder box, because I wanted that extra character slot. If you want to know more about Nightfall, that PCGamer had a lot of info about the upcoming Nightfall release.

As for factions, I'm going to make a pve mesmer through the game before I have to go through grinding out more chars for Nightfall.

Turbo Oct 2, 2006 11:36 AM

I've lost quite a bit of interest in GW as a whole, just because for every new chapter, its a new character, and if you want to get the most out of the game, every charater should be taken through all three chapters, which is crazy borring after the first time around. Prophecies is just long, Factions is "omgwtf hard", but I'm hoping Nightfall is better. I don't think I'll buy it right away this time though, I'll wait a few months. Saving up for something better :) (sup Wii)

Speaking of character slots, can't you buy those through the Guild Wars Official Store as well? I was fumbling through it earlier but they kept wanting me to buy Factions so I just closed it.

I'm content with my four character slots, the new professions never really appealed to me anyway (the ones from Factions and the ones in Nightfall), I like the original crew best ;(

Grawl Oct 2, 2006 12:45 PM

Could someone buy me a preorder pack? They don't tell them here, and I could PayPal the money.

Foshi Oct 2, 2006 03:48 PM

I've slowed down my play of GW for console titles at the moment. After this holiday season I will get back into it and start a new character for Nightfall. Those Dervish are awesome.

Flara Oct 18, 2006 02:34 AM

My first time around I must of tried it 15 times. When I did it on my second character I got lucky and snagged an amazing group. We made it on the first run through.

I had a similar experience with my first char, a Ranger. I got so frustrated with it, that I actually started over with another class (a Monk) and was able to get through the mission on the first attempt. Although it really boils down to finding a well coordinated group that won't panic when the Mursaat boss comes and waves of enemies begin to pile up.

That said, I have just finished the game with my third prophecies character (Elementalist). I have 97.3% for the Grandmaster Cartographer Title, so I should be able to max this out before Nightfall hits.

The only way I got through this mission was by being a Monk and just healing those suicidal bitches in the pug.

Dopefish Dec 12, 2006 03:58 PM

I've gone back to playing GW since I don't have a subscription to WoW at the moment. It's a very pretty game, kind of easy at times, and somewhat uninteresting. I can't explain it, but WoW has personality that GW doesn't seem to.

Balcony Heckler Dec 12, 2006 05:15 PM

I've thoroughly enjoyed GW since I was first intro'd to it. I now have my own guild and a private stockpile of rarities. now all I need is the Flesh golem spell for my necro and my main character is set

Kimchi Dec 20, 2006 12:05 PM

I started playing this again. I wnated to start off fresh again, so I deleted every characters. (keeping my goldies and greenies)

I might get factions... but no collector's edition in my local =X

I am having fun with my Nightfall CE and GOTYE ^_^

Vkamicht Dec 23, 2006 10:50 AM

Everyone enjoying the Wintersday festivities? I've been stocking up on faction and candy cane shards.

I havent played much at all lately, but I logged on to see the festivites. Guild Wars is still amazing for being free.

Kimchi Dec 27, 2006 01:25 PM

Woot, I am picking up Factions today ^_^. (No collector's here TT_____TT
)

lilxdanny Feb 15, 2007 01:59 AM

I play WoW and Guild wars and the thing i like about WoW better is that you can jump =). I feel as though many things could be simpler if you could just jump in GW =P. But, GW is still pretty good.

Miles Feb 16, 2007 10:10 PM

I wanted to load up the game and see how things are going. Maybe play again. Only problem is kitty took over my account. .___.

Does anyone around here play this anymore?

Prinnydood Apr 22, 2007 06:46 PM

Well I just got back into Guild Wars again...granted I only have Prophecies and don't plan on getting the other campaigns but its still fun. They released Hard Mode for all the missions and explorable areas so there's some nice replay value there.

If anyone still plays or starts playing again send me a message or somethin either here or in-game. Character I play as most is a warrior named Huggable Snuggables. Good fit? You bet

willy_sunny Jun 22, 2007 05:17 AM

OMG !! LOL !!

it's da halious yoshi.

Anyways, I'm back (well, since I've been playing GW SOOOO much, I hardly had time to come visit GFF anymore xD)

So, if any of you guys are still playing this game, feel free to talk to "General Delta" (or any of my alias characters, got like 11 of them), I'm quite often seen in game, so feel free to call me up for some help.

<-- owns 2 guilds with over 130 people :)

Slash Sep 1, 2007 07:24 PM

Not to bump or anything but did anyone else get Eye of the North?

Turbo Sep 1, 2007 07:31 PM

I did

Kimchi Sep 2, 2007 09:15 AM

I lost intrest in GW, its utterly boring these days.

I still play GW once in a while ._.

Slash Sep 2, 2007 09:10 PM

Apparently there is a special offer that plays more into the back story of GW availible

Cheezeman3000 Sep 5, 2007 10:58 AM

I think it's definitely worth checking out, if only to see more of the story of the original which was (in my opinion) definitely the best.
By the way, you may see me on as "Killah Cheeze," but I have many other aliases so... just add that one.

Slash Jan 22, 2009 11:39 PM

Someone might kick my ass for asking this...

But if anyone on these boards has a mini Kuunavang I can get..that'd be awesome :)

Secret Squirrel Jan 23, 2009 07:59 AM

Wow, someone here still plays.

I don't have a Kuunavang, though I'll pick one up eventually. They're running 100k + 20-40e for undedicated ones, and 70-100k for dedicated ones.
