Your favorite morning drinks/foods

So, you get up in the morning, and after scratching yourself a bit, you go off to the bathroom. After unloading all that piss, and yesterday's lunch, you scratch yourself again, and go take a shower. After drying yourself off, getting changed, and scratching yourself just a little bit more, you wander off to the kitchen.
Now, its time for morning food and drink.

What do you prefer your taste buds to wake up to?

I myself am very partial to Lucky Charms and Orange juice.
As an additional kick while at work, I am usually sipping green tea.

Syndrome May 26, 2006 03:26 PM

I'm usually very stressed and short on time when it comes to breakfast, so I'll have to do with a cup of coffee and a pair of sandwiches with butter and cheese on.

I've never really been a big fan of having stuff like muffins, bacon and eggs for breakfast. Just a pair of sandwiches, juice and coffee is very breakfast'y ;)

Rockgamer May 26, 2006 03:45 PM

I usually eat either a bowl of cereal or some waffles and sausage, depending on what kind of day I'm gonna have at school (like if I'm gonna be able to eat lunch at school, I'll probably just eat the cereal, but if I won't be able to, I'll eat the bigger breakfast).

I also like to drink a bottle of Vanilla Frappucino on my way to school, as I love that stuff to death.

knkwzrd May 26, 2006 04:11 PM

I'm a toast man myself. Toasted rye bread in the morning with orange juice, to be specific.

Arkhangelsk May 26, 2006 04:22 PM

If I eat carbohydrates in the morning, I'll be down by 11am. I have to eat bacon and eggs in some form, preferably on a croissant with cheese. Those little sandwiches are the best! That or breakfast tacos...chorizo and egg or bacon and egg on wheat tortillas, with green tea. SO good.

Although that's only if I have to do something that day. On lazy days I usually wake up in time for lunch ;).

Rydia May 26, 2006 04:46 PM

I always try to have a warm drink and a breakfast bar, or just cereal. I usually don't have much time in the morning to prepare something more complex, but my lunch breaks are usually at least one hour during school days anyway.

Domino May 26, 2006 06:07 PM

It's normally some cheap orange squash for me. I'm not much of a coffee person.
And as for food, well, probably a ham sandwich. I'm normally up at lunch time. :)

Fleshy Fun-Bridge May 26, 2006 09:33 PM

Black coffee. Two eggs, over easy. Multi-grain toast. Maybe a few slices of scrapple as well. Fruit juice, if available, otherwise water.

Soluzar May 26, 2006 09:55 PM

The best possible breakfast for me would be coffee, followed by English muffins and scrambled egg. Grapefruit juice is nice too. I'm not saying that I ever have the time to eat that much in the morning, but that would be the nicest breakfast I can think of.

RacinReaver May 26, 2006 10:08 PM

I always just eat some toast with peanutbutter on it and two glasses of water. I switch up between different kinds of grain breads to make my breakfasts more EXCITING!

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE May 26, 2006 10:10 PM

Really, really strong coffee. Half a spoon of sugar. Nothing else.

Rachelle May 26, 2006 11:26 PM

Hot Milo (this one is a must or I can't get up somehow :P) and a peanut butter and honey sandwich sometimes, or a bowl of oats with yoghurt. Sometimes it's weetbix with milk or yohurt too. I don't really take anything else for breakfast, cos' I'm too lazy to do anything else.

Dee May 27, 2006 12:54 AM

In college, my tray consists of

Cereal: usually Total or Granola
Two half pints of skim milk
One Dannon yogurt. I prefer fruit on the bottom peach.
Eggs, maybe half a bacon strip for saltiness
Half a grapefruit in place of yogurt if there is no yogurt
One banana
Hot water or tea during winter afterwards

This is what I get for waking up one hour earlier for class daily. ;)

At home, it's usually anything I can get my hands on. :(

Fleshy Fun-Bridge May 27, 2006 08:57 AM

I used to eat a half grapefruit quite often as part of breakfast, but can't anymore because of some of the medications that I take.

If I'm really hungry, I'll add an everything bagel with cream cheese. If I've got the time, I'll make hash browns.

SunkistTheHedge May 27, 2006 11:13 AM

Me I like Eggo Waffles with those crystal light packets tea flavor , raspberry , lemonade

nazpyro May 27, 2006 12:18 PM

I like big breakfasts. I usually have some kind of meat with rice and scrambled eggs, that meat being sausage, bacon, or ham, sometimes some potato element (hash browns or tots or something). For drink, it's Sunny D or one of those delicious Tropicana juices. For quicker breakfasts, I go for those microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, usually something on a croissant. Eggo Waffles are love too.

elwe May 27, 2006 04:47 PM

I don't think I've ever eaten a giant breakfast before, as I usually have a glass of orange juice and one of the following:

-leftovers
-cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats!)
-Pop Tart
-TV dinner
-waffles

I try not to put too much syrup on my waffles, since I can't have anything overly-sweet in the morning. Eggs also make me feel sick when I eat them first thing in the morning, so I can't have those either.

EmpyreanHorizon May 28, 2006 02:28 AM

I have to eat breakfast because I don't know whether I'll have time to eat lunch. I'll eat anything from the day before, just to clear what's in the fridge. Nothing beats cold leftover pizza in the morning. Down it with coffee. I don't eat cereal in the morning though. That's usually stashed under my bed for when I can't seem to sleep at night and am too lazy to walk to the kitchen to get something to eat.

electric_eye May 28, 2006 06:39 AM

Usually I have a bowl of Weetabix but I love to have a bowl of Jordan's Country Crisp Real Strawberry. My dad buys organic breakfast cereals. With that I must have my cup of tea.

Jiraiya May 31, 2006 03:24 PM

Depending on where I am, at home I'll usually make waffles and sausage when Im in the mood. While camping, its always toast and peanut butter. Both I always take both with a nice hot cup of coffee, half a tsp of sugar and a little milk. Mmm

Lady Miyomi Jun 1, 2006 08:21 PM

I usually eat Fruit Loops with vanilla soy milk. If the cereal isn't available, I'll just drink the soy milk by itself. Lately, I've gotten into eating waffle sticks that take about 7 or 8 minutes in the oven.

Battle_CRY Jun 1, 2006 09:23 PM

I usually have a bowl of rice with some egg w/meat or some tofu w/kimchi if I have time (I might even make a bowl of ramen)...If I'm rushing, then probably a hot pocket or a pop tart with a glass of milk!

eriol33 Jun 10, 2006 09:32 PM

Toasted bread poured with grated cheese and evaporated milk. :) I love 'em to death.
I never able to eat rice or anything oily in the morning though.

Infernal Monkey Jun 10, 2006 11:31 PM

If I even bother to have breakfast, it's usually whatever deadly cereal is in the cupboard, with about half a kilo of sugar dumped on top and three drops of milk. Has to be exact, if an extra drop spills out, the cereal gets thrown out the window and I set fire to Kelloggs for dreaming up such disturbing cereal mascots. OH SO YOU'VE GOT A TOUCAN THAT GOES TO THE MOON IN SEARCH OF FRUIT LOOPS DESPITE HAVING SEVERAL BOXES OF IT IN THE SPACE SHIP?

Sometimes I have toast, which I barely even toast! Pretty exciting stuff!

Ryuu Jun 11, 2006 10:11 AM

If I have time for breakfast it's scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with orange juice.

Though with school, and the lack of time every morning, it's been nothing more than a granola bar and some milk.

Acro-nym Jun 11, 2006 11:38 AM

In the morning, I generally have just some cereal w/ milk, usually 1%. Every other weekend or so, my dad decides to fix us eggs and either sausage or bacon to go with it. When we're out of cereal, I fix myself some toast and oatmeal. In the latter two cases, I normally drink chocolate milk with my breakfast, though I will drink orange juice or fruit punch if either happens to be available.

Void Jun 11, 2006 01:44 PM

On days where I get up at my normal time, like 10-11AM. I wake up and eat something that I'd normally eat. Like ramen noodles [w/o soup], rice, anything really.

But on days where I am forcibly awakened, like school-days, it's like 7AM and I am in a rush anyway so I just pour some cheerios w/strawberries and eat that. It isn't very filling, but it tastes very good and I have NO appetite that early so it serves its purpose.

If I had the choice though, I'd take the cheerios as the better breakfast. Healthier, etc. I would also normally drink orange juice with it or something, but I just don't have the time.

I drink green tea at night, it's relaxing.

eriol33 Jun 11, 2006 01:51 PM

Wow, that kind of foods are so japanese like, are you japanese by any chance? Btw, I thought Ramen is not good for your health since it's noodle. I rarely eat noodle nowaday.

Chibi Neko Jun 11, 2006 03:21 PM

I have milk the most often (hmmmm... milk...) and orange juice. as far as eating is concerned, I eat alot of different stuff, but bacon, eggs and toast is my most fave!

Cobra Commander Jun 11, 2006 04:54 PM

well actually I eat a lot of junk food for breakfast. It could range from brownies, pie, pastries, cookies, and more and always with a large cup of milk

Safer Serge Jun 11, 2006 06:38 PM

A cup of black coffee, cereals... eggs... sort of.

Silv Jun 12, 2006 04:18 AM

One coffee, no milk, no sugar.

Kairyu Jun 12, 2006 05:32 AM

On average it will be a three-cheese omelette, two or three stripes of bacon, a hash brown, a croissant, and one cup of orange juice. Some variations include natou with rice, misou soup, cereal with milk, and perhaps coffee--but that's rare.

Cobra Jun 12, 2006 09:32 AM

Two fresh kiwis, a glass of grapefruit, and a banana to remove the acidity. I try to avoid anything that can make me wanna go to the throne during my (long) bus commute, like coffee or tea.

takeru Jun 12, 2006 02:36 PM

I dunno about eating, but my days can't start without a good cup of hot coffee. That sh*t is my everymorning drug :D

The rest is the same all the days: cereals, toasted bread (in fact, have your tried it with olive oil and a bit of salt? Yum, try it, healthy and delicious!) and maybe donuts, but not too often. My body doesn't need more fat.

Ruth Loose Jun 13, 2006 01:27 AM

Take a cinnamon raisin bagel or plain

Scramble 1 egg along with some cheddar cheese

Possibly microwave some bacon

Enjoy the simplicity of a delicious breakfast sandwich that takes all of 4 minutes to prepare.

blue Jun 13, 2006 01:30 AM

I LOVE ALL BREAKFAST FOODS.

But usually I just content myself with a bowl of whatever cereal is on hand.

PiccoloNamek Jun 13, 2006 07:48 AM

Mountain Dew. I always have a MD early in the morning. And usually either a bowl of cereal or a bacon egg and cheese biscuit.

I just woke up about 10 minutes ago, so it's about time I took the 1-mile walk to the gas station to get my Dew...

I poked it and it made a sad sound Jun 13, 2006 08:45 AM

I'm not a big fan of breakfast foods, but I REALLY love me some grilled bagels. I think I could live on bagels for the rest of my fucking life.

I really like corned beef hash in between my bagel, like a sandwich. But if I do that, I usually don't eat for the rest of the day, its so heavy.

When I do take the time for breakfast (which hasn't happened since high school), I have about 3 cups of coffee and a bagel with cream cheese.

I prefer eating breakfast foods late at night with friends. =D

Infernal Monkey Jun 13, 2006 09:03 AM

Cereal is the most awesome thing to eat at like, 1AM! But corned beef for breakfast? =(

ms-07 Jun 13, 2006 01:16 PM

Pita bread filled with scrambled eggs, a bunch of tomato slices, salt and pepper is my favorite breakfast meal. Most of the time i'll just have some cereal (usually raisin oatmeal crisp) and some toast. Or if i'm in a rush, just toast with some cheez whiz. Tea with 1 cream is my usual breakfast drink.

joeymui Jun 13, 2006 11:48 PM

Cereal! I like all types of cereal, our kitchen cupboard is like the supermarket aisle as far as cereal is concerned. Cereal drown in cold milk, then an additional glass of cold milk since I am trying to grow taller, but somehow never make it to the 160cm mark... must be my mum's fault.

I also eat cereal in the middle of the night when I get hungry, since usually that's the only food available at home (sometimes I even put a scoop of icecream on top).

Kazyl Jun 16, 2006 06:05 AM

I don't eat breakfast at all. If it do it's already lunch time before I can even eat anything.

Recently it's been "eggs in a boat" http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4001/123758ga.jpg (mine aren't that burnt)

and water. Yum.

Belladonna Jun 16, 2006 07:45 AM

I always eat a 12 grain bagel with light cream cheese. I'm not much of a breakfast person at all.

Paco Jun 16, 2006 12:17 PM

Sometimes, if I happen to wake up with time to spare before I head out to the sweatshop (which is rarely) I like to make scrambled eggs and chorizo. Sometimes I make enough to where even my brother-in-law and my sister next door can come and eat breakfast too.

Generally though, a good egg & ________ meal is great in the morning. It kickstarts your heart and I'll be damned if it doesn't taste delicious.

Immortal Jun 16, 2006 01:03 PM

I am a big fan of the Mountain Dew and Cheetos breakfast. Has kept me going strong for two years of college so far =P

tanisari Jun 16, 2006 01:40 PM

I've developed a fondness for boiled eggs and toast soldiers. They make me feel about six years old...

There's even a device for making FLAWLESS toast soldiers. How needless and cool is this?

Bernard Black Jun 16, 2006 05:01 PM

http://www.nesquik.com/images/nes_recipes_bunny.jpg

I think that's more childish than boiled eggs and toast soldiers... ^_^;

Hee! Different kinds of childish, I guess!

I like boiled eggs and toast soldiers for lunch and dinner, too. I lose at breakfast.

McCloud Jun 16, 2006 07:53 PM

Call me a fast-food junkie if you want, but in the mornings, nothing quite fills me up like a Carl's Jr. spicy chicken sangwich. I consider Carl's to have some of the best as far as fast food goes (kick's McD's ass, boy howdy), and their spicy chickens are the best $.99 item you can get anywhere. They give you a sesame seed bun, for god's sake. But I just loooove those things in the morning. Don't know why, I just do.

Reminds me of one of my professors last semester. He claimed to have chocolate bars and Pepsi/Coke for thirty years.

LS Jun 17, 2006 02:12 AM

Call me unhealthy but i love Diet Coke and Ruffles (or any potato chips) for breakfast, although i find myself drinking diet soda and eating calorie bars this days. =o

Krelian Jun 17, 2006 11:52 AM

Sanguinello orange juice is a very nice wake-up call. As for food, muesli hits the spot nicely, as does weetabix. (Yeah, I'm healthy like that.)

Summonmaster Jun 17, 2006 06:01 PM

When it's not plain old cereal, I prefer a frozen Michelina's meal in the morning like Chicken Primavera, or Penne Pollo, simply because it's the easiest and fastest thing to make.

Demon Arashi Jun 18, 2006 08:36 PM

In the mornings, I always have about 5 Eggo waffles with syrup and whipped cream, with a glass of 3-step lemonade [lemon juice, sugar and water]. That's good shit right there...

Dr. Chud Jun 24, 2006 09:52 PM

Peanut Butter on toast (usually), followed by a cup of coffee. I make a pot while I make and eat my toast. Sometimes, I have fruit preserves on toast, but I much prefer peanut butter over other toppings on toast. I honestly fail to get tired of PB on toast.

Fatt Jul 8, 2006 08:29 PM

I usually start a day with a toasted bagel & cream cheese, and a glass of juice (orange, cranberry, kiwi, etc.). Sometimes the doc treats me to a cup of green tea, which always perks up my day.

Sometimes I'll just reheat whatever leftovers are in the fridge, just to make sure it doesn't spoil. When I have a long day ahead of me (like a 24 hour work shift), I'll eat one of those energy bars to hold me over.

Fire On Ice Jul 8, 2006 09:09 PM

It all depends on what I have to do and when. If I really have to be somewhere, I usually just grab a piece of toast and a cup of Earl Gray tea. If I have time to make sutff, I usually go with something like waffles or french toast. Something with maple syrup.

kat Jul 9, 2006 03:06 AM

Somehow eating a greasy meal in the morning really grosses me out. Some porridge if I'm feeling for something salty but most mornings I have yogurt, a piece of fruit and some form of granola (bar or otherwise) with milk.

I've been on a health rampage for the last couple months so my tastes have changed. Ask me last January and I would have asked you to pile on the hash browns, sausages and Frosted Flakes. But I still hate eggs, always have and always will.

Demon Arashi Aug 1, 2006 11:49 PM

Waflles and lemonade - a diet that I eat all day long most days.

packrat Aug 1, 2006 11:58 PM

I find it funny how you posted the exact same info, and in greater detail, 5 posts above your own, over 1 month ago.

I just go for a bowl of cereal with milk, and some fruit juice (being on a college budget, that juice ends up being Koolaid:()
If I have the time, I will fry some eggs with either sausage or bacon. (Never both at the same time. A grease overload in the morning leads to leaky pipes in the afternoon.)
