Wii Game Wishlist

Well, now that everyone knows what the Wii is about, including developers, what games would you like to see get the Wii treatment?

My number one pick - Jet Set Radio

Jet Set Radio Future is still the only game I actually own for my Xbox (mod chip liek wut), and is the sole reason I own an Xbox to this day. If there's any game that needs to come back, it's this one. It's one of the best action games I've ever played, and it deserves another good sequel.

For the Wii, picture this - You control your skater with the nunchuck. Using the two triggers, you can do mid-grind combos like in JSRF. Then, with the Wiimote, you jump with A, and then to tag, you aim and press the Z trigger.

Using the same structure as JSRF, it would make for an interesting addition to have to aim and spray instead of just pressing a button when skating past it. It would make the game alot more challenging and intense.

I'll post more as I think of them. What are your picks?

Nintendonomicon May 21, 2006 12:39 PM

Carnevil - Old arcade on-rails shooter that seems to be made with the Rob Zombie school of thought. I don't know how popular this game was in its time but I remember it had great graphics and music, and most important, it was a lot of fun. You got to shoot zombies dressed as Santa's elves, a giant baby, and a floating jester head! If a light gun game has to be on Wii, I wish this was it.

The King of Fighters Collection, Street Fighter Collection, Guilty Gear X3, [insert fighting game] - Nintendo fans have long been lacking a wide variety of good fighting games. Some of you may believe Smash Bros is all you'll ever need, but I differ! Much like the Metal Slug collection that's gonna appear on Wii, we need some KOF and SF love! Either as a game discs or available on the Virtual Console. Obviously these games would support Wii's traditional controller shown at E3.

I'd like to see a Panzer Dragoon Saga remake...or maybe release it onto the Virtual Arcade if Nintendo ever emulates Saturn games. It's going to play N64 games, so I don't see how it can't play Saturn games.

RABicle May 21, 2006 01:18 PM

Probably a Zelda Fighter :tpg:

You'd be amazed. Nothing can emulate the Saturn. It's hardware was filled with too much bullshit.

I would love a Rez game for the Wii. Unfortunately I never got the chance to play the PS2 game but the concept and weirdness of the game always intrigued me. From what I have heard about Rez, it seems like the Wii Remote would be the perfect controller for it.

The best part is that it´s not even unlikely that we will see a Rez sequel or a similar game for Wii. Read this interview with Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the creator of Rez.

Krelian May 21, 2006 02:56 PM

I'd love to see Sin And Punishment 2, along with some kind of second installment of Mischief Makers.

I'd also love to see Marble Madness, Guilty Gear and a new Ikaruga game.

edit: RABicle, have you ever heard of SFF?

Oh my God, I freaking loved Mischief Makers! Yeah, I totally agree with Krelian, I'd love to see Clancer Wars III.

Also, another Jet Force Gemini would make me very happy.

RABicle May 21, 2006 03:07 PM

I have not heard of this SFF. What is it? If it's a competant Saturn emulator I don't believe in it.

Krelian May 21, 2006 03:26 PM

Refer to link!

I've not tested it, but there was a similar argument at another forum a few days ago, so I thought I might as well bring it up.

Nintendonomicon May 21, 2006 03:32 PM

Star Wars lightsaber game.
'nuff said.

RABicle May 21, 2006 03:38 PM

So it takes a 3.0GHz Pentium 4 with a GIG of RAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro to emulate a system that had dual 28.6Mhz processors with two huge megabytes of RAM?
Insane.

Golfdish from Hell May 21, 2006 03:44 PM

I'm one of the ones wishing for the rumored Kid Icarus update. That game has such an upside, both in storyline and gameplay, it's amazing they haven't resurrected it. That and Balloon Fight, which could be real interesting with the Wii controller.

On that note...Punch Out! Sort of like how the Power Glove was intended to be used with it, but more intuitive.

Of the the announced games, the ones I'm looking forward to the most are Fire Emblem and Smash Bros. Brawl.

You'll probably be in luck with King of Fighters, seeing as SNK has announced the Wii will be recieving the most support from them out of the big three. I just want a new Pilotwings. Nintendo you bastards, a NEW PILOTWINGS GAME. Oh sure there's WiiSports Airplane and the possibility of Pilotwings 64 on the Virtual Crap with a sexy bumped up frame rate bu-NEW PILOTWINGS GAME. NEW PILOTWINGS WITH FIRE, AND CRASHING INTO MOUNTAINS ONLY TO BOUNCE AROUND LIKE ONE OF THOSE BOUNCY BALLS YOU SEE IN THE SAME MACHINES THAT OFFER FOUR MONTH OLD CANDY.

New Pilotwings game.

PILOTWINGS

Grubdog May 21, 2006 07:45 PM

Luigi's Mansion 2 Wii - The controls are perfect for it. Aiming the flashlight and moving at the same time would be 10 times easier, and they could add heaps of new stuff that would suit the game well using the new controller. It would work so well I don't even need to elaborate. I actually loved the first game too!

Pokemon Snap Wii - I want a sequel to this, cause the first one was magical. They could do heaps of new stuff to expand it now, maybe even add a free roaming element.

Wave Race Wii - NST need to stop fucking around with generic crap like Metroid Prime Hunters and release another real game, that being Wave Race. Wave Race + Excite Truck would be the ULTIMATE COMBO for every Wii owner. I'd like to see how more advanced the water physics could get from Wave Race Blue Storm, because I still haven't seen a game that matches the water in that. Basically I just want more Wave Race, because there's so many things Blue Storm could have had but it didn't because it was rushed out for launch,

Drum Kit Wii - It'd be awesome and practical, cause the main reason I don't have a drum kit is because it would be too loud for me to be able to use in the environment i'm in.

Weight Training - Like Brain Training, but for your body. Maybe the game could come with huge weights to attach to the controller, it'd be like buying a PS3. It would tell you how old your muscles are "YOU ARE AN OLD MAN, DONT FALL DOWN THE STAIRS HAA HAA".

Handball - Developers, now is the time to step up and deliver the ULTIMATE VIDEOGAME HANDBALL EXPERIENCE. The controller practically begs for it, and the game would be huge with the school crowd, handball is all we used to do at school.

Point Blank - Cuz I like Point Blank and it'd be cool and suit the system.

CING game - Another Code is awesome and Hotel Dusk looks to be awesome no doubt, but my pants rip when I think of what they could do on Wii. It wouldn't have to be a 3D graphical masterpiece, just make it the same adventure type of gameplay they do with awesome art style, maybe there could be gameplay in this one though, with the new controller. Maybe it could be celshaded. Maybe they could team up with SUDA HOLY CRAP! I just want to hear their awesome soundtracks in full stereo sound up loud.

Grand Theft Auto Wii - I don't care if it has the same graphics as GTA3, it would be awesome. This could be the first GTA with good controls! Actually now i'm starting to think abuot it, this would be REAL AWESOME! Freehand style control for a free roaming kinda game. Stroll into the bar and play pool with the remote, shoot out of the car with the remote while just using the analog to steer, ride the bicycle by moving the controller around in a circle (ok maybe not that) etc. They could make this game an awesome experience, and it'd be a huge seller, and I wouldn't have to buy an Xbox 360.

Free Radical FPS - The Wiimote is apparently the perfect FPS controller, and Free Radical I think are the best current FPS developer ever since Timesplitters 2. This is only a logical request.

Pikmin Thwii - I just want to throw a Pikmin across the screen with my hand, scoop a bunch of them up and throw them in the air, and SQUASH enemies with my FIST.

Mario Tennis / Golf - Wii Sports is cool, but there's nothing like Mario Golf and Tennis. Not only are they the most complete games in their respective sports, they are freaking hilarious. I want the taunts to come out of my opponents controller speaker. "ARE YOU SWEEATING?" "SHUT THE FUCK UPPP".

Imagine the new Hot Coffee minigames with the Wii.

KnowsNothing May 21, 2006 08:12 PM

POKEMON SNAP YES. Especially with free-roaming environments, it'd be awesome.

I never thought Wii Drumkit was such a good idea, mainly you'd be missing out on one of the most important parts of a drumset; the pedals. The bass pedal, specifically. I'd be able to live without the high-hat pedal, but without the bass pedal you're missing out on a HUGE part of drumming. I'd imagine you'd have to choose from a few pre-set bass beats, which would just really suck.

I suppose you could duct tape a Wiimote to you foot though.

Grubdog May 21, 2006 08:16 PM

Yeah but in one of the Wii trailer videos the guy looks to be using an accessory for the foot pedal. (I think, if not an accessory is still possible)
Quote:

That'd be awesome if they made a Tony Hawk game like that :tpg:

KnowsNothing May 21, 2006 08:40 PM

Actually, now that I think of it more, a Wii drum game would be pretty cool (oh yeah accessory why didn't I think of that :tpg:)

It could be set up like a Pop'n music game where the beats scroll vertically down. Basically take some drum sheet music, turn it vertically, and have it scroll down. Then of course there'd also be a free mode where you can just drum and do whatever you want.

Back to the accsesory though, unless it's something you actually attach to your foot (which, you know, it won't) then it would slide around a lot on the floor. I remember in school we had a shitty electronic drumset where the bass pedal broke and didn't attach to anything, and it slid around all over the place. Very frustrating. Suction cups would work (maybe) on hardwood but on a carpet....maybe weigh it down with a block of lead? Yeah!

Lipid May 21, 2006 08:43 PM

Harvest Moon Wii
Would be fun to till your own ground, water the plants, brush your pets, etc with the motion sensors :)

Wall Feces May 21, 2006 09:26 PM

Here are some more ideas to ponder over -

Mario Paint Wii - I would probably include a mouse with the game anyway, but having that kind of freedom with the Wiimote would be an artist's dream come true.

Bushido Blade - Sure, Red Steel has swordplay, but imagine the kind of in depth swordfighting that Bushido Blade gave us and combine that with the Wiimote? It would be INCREDIBLE.

(light gun series) Collection - The name says it all. Lets get some collections of Time Crisis, House of the Dead, Virtua Cop, etc.

Meteos (Wiiteos) - It would be alot more intense if you had shaky hands! I can forsee a big screen sequel to this gem coming to the Wii without much trouble.

Kirby: Canvas Curse Wii - Another DS title that could get a console sequel thanks to the versatility of the Wiimote.

Silent Hill 5 - Give it to Nintendo. Please. The game NEEDS to be on the Wii. Imagine controlling the flashlight yourself? I would be shitting myself constantly.

Bionic Commando - This game needs a sequel. What better system than the Wii? Launch and aim your grapple arm with the Wiimote along with firing your gun. Switch between them with the touch of a button.

VitaPup May 21, 2006 11:40 PM

Maybe I'm just too deep in x-men fanboy land due to the new movie but I think a superhero game would be fun with the remote. Depending on how you use the remote, different aspects of your powers would manifest. I think it would be fun to be Jean or Magento and use the Wii remote to pick up and throw your enemies around.

Summonmaster May 22, 2006 12:45 AM

Guys!!! This might look gay in action, but:
SPAAAAACE CHANNEL 5!
would be the sickest thing! You just have to wave your arms up, down, left, right, chu, chu, chu! It would be very simple to play until the songs get faster, like say "Strobo Action", or if you had to dance exactly like Ulala with her crazy poses.

Kilroy May 22, 2006 02:02 AM

A Gitaroo-Man kind of game would be nice. Smashing music, outrageously characters and the Wiimote. Game of the year on Wii...

Or a Mad Maestro! game. God, the best thing on the Nintendo Conference was the beginning, with the Wiimote directed orchestra playing Zelda. Imagine a mix, Nintendo tunes and classic music.
...
..
Oh great, now I soiled my pants thinking about it >:[

somedude2387 May 22, 2006 02:42 AM

I agree with guyinrubbersuit, bring panzer dragoon to the wii. I played it when my cousin had his saturn and they were good times.

Torte May 22, 2006 04:45 AM

Weight Training for the Wii
Now that's an idea...

I hope to see a gadget/spy-based game in the future akin to traditional Mission Impossible, James Bond, Inspector Gadget, Macgyver. That would make an awesome interactive experience in my books.

Helloween May 22, 2006 08:23 PM

Man, i want a fucking new Vigilante 8 game. 1 was awesome to the max, 2 was on par, and therefore just as awesome, and Activision has said they're not dropping the serise. SO WHERE THE HELL IS IT? If a new V8 game came to Wii, i'd be more than happy. I don't really car about how they do the controls, i just wanna play it, and on a system i'm gonna own.

I wanna see some RTS games for the Wii. There was word of a Disciples II port to DS... maybe they'll hold off till the Wii, and give the awesomness even more awesomness. I hope they'll port Starcraft onto the Virtual console, complete with awesomness controls. And then after that, they port Starcraft II onto the Wii (it's gonna happen, just you wait.).

I'd love to see a new Army Men game. The origional was the only really amazing one. I rented that game enough to buy it twice. I'd love to see that game on the VC, and i guess along with all of it's various sequels and spin offs. Then i want a new game, in the same format as the origional, and just as good.

Gauntlet Legends, and whatever the GC version was called (Dark somethingorother) were really fun. I'd love to see a new one with all the greatness of Dark Somethingorother (yeah i liked that one) but with the Wiimote employed. Just imagine, moving with the analog stick, and having a little cursor you can move around the feild so you can use directional spell, or for attacking direction etc... Am i the only one who things this will be the height of amazingness?

These are all i could think of at the moment.

As far as they're concerned, it all begins and ends at Baseball.

SURPRISE No.1: There are countries other than Japan!
SURPRISE No.2: People in those countires are allowed to develop Wii games.
SURPRISE No.3: http://www.chronicgames.net/images/g...%20[!].png The corrosponding nations to those flags account for around 1.4 billion people.

I would like to see a Vigilante 8 game made.
It provided me a lot of fun me, i have finished the game with all the characters and multiplayer never gets old and i agree with Helloween it would be awsome

I would also like to see a package with Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time with some added wii controller features. Here are some ideas for the controles.
Press A or swing controller to swipe your sword
Press B to target the enimies
Use the accelerometer in the controller to change the camera angle
Use the D-pad for the c-up wepon system
Use Z 1 button to roll and do the jumping sword hit
Turn the nunchuck or press Z 2 to use your sheild
Analog stick to move

NovaX May 23, 2006 07:54 AM

I loved Super International Cricket, it was my most rented SNES game. I don't know why I didn't buy it. I would definately support a cricket game of its calibre, it's probably the most best cricket game made.

HOWZAT!

surasshu May 23, 2006 09:35 AM

Actraiser 3!

I have the best ideas, I swear.

I wonder how it would work though, control-wise. Obvious would be to have the Wii controller act as the Master's sword, but it would be extra cool if you could also create towns with a firm swoosh, and summon special attacks with patterns and such.

I'd also like a game where you use the controller as a sort of wood-carving tool. That would be pretty awesome.

Tappy May 23, 2006 10:11 AM

Paper Mario 3 would be the highest on my list.
I know Super Paper Mario is coming, but that's more of a platform game then the usual RPG/Adventure games that are PM & PM:Thousand Year Door!

I also would love a new 2D Metroid game...a la New Super Mario Bros!
I guess they could also make it for the Nintendo DS, but the to be honest I'd rather play it on the Wii with the new remote joystick (& nunschuck...or whatever I should call it).

A new Donkey Kong Country game would be great too, but one that should be in the same league as Mario Galaxy/Donkey Kong 64 (without the insane collecting of all sorts of stuff).

Well....while I'm ranting on, I wouldn't mind another Starfox game.
One that has planets and stages that would blow you way, so not only the usual stages that we're all used to (in space and on the surface of planets), but maybe some more original new kind of environments.
I guess you could say everything has been done before, but let me tell you for certain that they all should be with the Arwing, no Starfox crew on foot with a bazooka (maybe the tank or another vehicle, but no controlling of characters)!

WraithTwo May 23, 2006 10:12 AM

I want a vert/horizontal shooter on the rev in which the position of your ship is where you point the Wiimote, adding a new level of ease in manuevering.

- WraithTwo -

I have it. it's incredible. You play those crappy EA cricket games that are made every few years and they just can't even compare. That said I think Cricekt games were at their peak with Cricket '97, developed by Beam Software, who were also behind SIC, the game featured half a gig of Richie Beneude commentary.
Gameplay wise it was mostly the same but the shots made sense, ie. back foot square drives wouldn't be hit for six over Mid Off. it also included senarios. Eg. West Indies trail Sri lanka by 84 runs with 10 overs remaining and 4 wickets to spare.

Kimchi May 23, 2006 01:34 PM

I would like to see remade Mother on Wii... it might be nice... other then that... for now 007 Golden Eye would work pretty good if you could aim with remote control

nanstey May 23, 2006 04:50 PM

I'd like to see Front Mission, Fire Emblem, or Advance Wars come to the system - preferably all three, but in a way that's not untrue to the games. I'd love to play those games, intesad of setting them all in a part of a grid, more like guiding them to that place - it's be a lot smoother, ithink. But that's just speculation.

I'd like to see Super International Cricket to wise from its gwave for Wiiii too. And Beam's other game, Aussie Rules Footy. That thing was so stupid and awkward to play it was automatically awesome. The sprites would flicker like crazy as soon as the game began and it became a disco party.

But Atari owns Beam (Melbourne House) now, so it'll never happen. SUCH AN AWESOME DEVELOPER, WHY ARE THEY STUCK MAKING THE NEW TEST DRIVE GAME?

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, and i'm actually really hoping it does. If they do, i want ever single pokemon in it, or if they're going to cut a bunch, then cut the new ones. Nothing can beat the classic 150.

StarmanDX May 26, 2006 09:37 PM

I think it'd probably work better on the DS, but I'd sell my soul for another iteration of Tetrisphere.

Actually, tilting the nunchuck to rotate the sphere would probably be pretty cool. And, of course, so would aiming at pieces with the remote.

chaofan May 26, 2006 10:51 PM

Last night I was playing F-zero GX's story mode when I came up with a revelation: F-Zero Wii??? (*droolz*)

I look forward to the three new IP's from Nintendo.

I disagree with any and all ideas and attempts to put Pokemon on consoles.

Pokemon is short for Pocket Monsters. Pocket, as in handhelds. this is where all the main games belong period. And not just for logistical purposes.

It takes a hellish amount of artwork, testing, and debugging for just the handheld games. Basically if they started now it would come out around 2011. And I highly doubt The Pokemon Company would be able to work on anything in the interim. Many peopel treat Pokemon like it is some bottomless Goldmine, and it is to an extent. The handheld extent. That's where most of the games are and where they make the most money.

That said, I would absolutely crave a Pokemon Snap for the Wii. Perfect platform for it IMO.

True, but it would still be a nice idea. We haven't seen it yet, so we don't know if a game like Pokemon Red would work on a console or not. Personally, I think it would work pretty well, much like Final Fantasy has worked in the past. Of course, I won't say that it will be easy, but it's something new to try. Can't imagine any Wiimote scheme though....but i'm willing to be surprised by Nintendo if they do go through with this.

Time Crisis Wii
Seriously, this would be amazing. The first games of the series were a load of fun to play. I can imagine this would be the same. And there's a lightgun shell as shown in E3, so hopefully, the damn gun won't be wired, which is always a plus.

I'd also second a horizontal shooter or vertical shooter with the wiimote controlling the movement. But I would imagine you'd have some superjet that could move from one side of the screen to the other in less than a quarter of a second if you just flicked your hand....

Paper Mario 3....hasn't that been also announced? or was that for the DS? Regardless, that would be awesome.

There are a lot more games that I would like to see, but most of these, I can't imagine a Wiimote control scheme to be associated with it. But, if Nintendo continues to surprise me, I would be satisfied.

chaofan May 27, 2006 10:01 AM

Seeing as how there's a Resi spin-off exclusive for the Wii, why not a spin-off exclusive for Metal Gear Solid? Hey, Snake's in SSBB, Kojima. You got it. Now give us an Exclusive Metal Gear that's not a port.

True, they could use the engine from the Pokemon Colosseum, and work around that..or not.

Anyway, I'd love to see a Gold/Silver remake. 251 Pokemon, traveling throughout 2 regions, it was just..down right awesome.

Chaofan - Kojima did say he's interested in making a new franshise for the Wii(or was it the 360?), once MGS4 is over, and done with.

A Captain N FPS.

Kid Icarus, Megaman, Kevin all have shooting weapons (also Samus, who was in the comic version). Gameboy can throw bunchs of junk at people (select using the Wiimote D-pad). Same for Simon and his backpack. Maybe also have Eggplant Wizard as a hidden character...

I would definitely buy a Wii just for that.

TIE Fighter sequel using the remote as a flight stick.

Too bad it'll never happen.

A Badminton game. I am unaware if any such a product even exist (I think there was one for the NES). A squash game would also be good, but unfortunately it'll probably never happen.

Rogue Squadron 4 would be great. Too bad the chances of that happening are not so good.
I'd like to see some SW games set on the New Jedi Order timeline (mainly because I'm not familiar with it, and I'd like to see some new faces), and a Rogue Squadron game seems like a great opportunity.

I was thinking of a flight simulator kind of game... specifically in a helicopter. Similiar to what Chairman Kaga said, using the Wiimote as a flight stick.

So there's actually a Nintendo game that allows me to play both classical music (Like Für Elise and such) and Nintendo themes (Like The Legend of Zelda Main Theme and such) i a way similar to Mad Maestro! ? Please enlighten me!
