What flavor of potato chips do you prefer?

First, let me talk about the last couple of flavors I've tried.

The most recent of which (I just polished off the bag - that's how recent it was) was Lay's Kettle Cooked Sea Salt and Vinegar. Crispier than most chips but the flavor was a little too bitter.

The second most recent of which was Lay's Lightly Salted. These are the perfect unflavored potato chips, in my opinion...not as greasy nor as salty as regular potato chips...you get to taste the potato more.

But my favorite potato chips will probably always be Cape Cod Sea Salt and Vinegar. Not as bitter as the Lay's and very good crisp to them.

(Bah! I wanted to put a poll. Oh well...it stands up well on its own.)

Chaco May 16, 2006 01:50 PM

Munchos. They're the best Potato Chip ever. I can't seem to recall how they're cooked but they're definetly my favorite ever. Light and Crispy. Yum.

Luminaire May 16, 2006 03:35 PM

Cheddar and sour cream. That's the only flavor of chips I will absolutely never get tired of. I can polish off a whole bag of those in one sitting, easily. And then I'll get some more.

Second place is sour cream and onion. Mm, tangy.

Krelian May 16, 2006 03:44 PM

Salt and vinegar. Can't eat right now because I gashed my lip on a can yesterday, though. :(

Turbo May 16, 2006 03:50 PM

Lay's Ketchup chips all the way.

I really love the wavy lays. I don't know what it is about them that makes them different, maybe they're thinker then regular lays? I'm not a big fan of the vast array of flavours that are out there, I usually stick to plain or sour cream and onion.

pompadork May 16, 2006 04:06 PM

I like those roasted red pepper and/or japapeno Mrs. Vickies ~

A4: IN THE DUNGEONS OF THE SLAVE LORDS May 16, 2006 04:29 PM

Pretty much any Salt and Vinegar chips other than pringles. There have been some salt and pepper chips I've been seeing lately that are really good as well.

YES.

These are the perfect potato chips, plus it's half the sodium. It tastes too salty when going back to regular Lay's.

Screw anything with Vinegar. You can keep that sour-ass fermented crap.

RacinReaver May 16, 2006 04:38 PM

Generally I like the plain salty potato chips. They have a taste that's pretty unique, and I usually get tired of eating them before I get enough to make myself feel sick.

Not sure if anyone else here has tried it, but try putting salty potato chips on your next sandwich, hamburger or hotdog. You'll be surprised how much the little bit of crunch and salty taste makes it better.

There was nothing better than that Krunchers brand for that. Shame you can't find the bloody things anywhere anymore. I've seen them at the resturant chain Panera Bread but nowhere else.

xuemin May 16, 2006 05:53 PM

for some reason i refuse to eat salt and vinegar flavour now, even though i remember i used to love it.

these days i guess my favourite is just salted ones or hot/spicy flavours >.> pretty boring ne?

DarkLink2135 May 16, 2006 07:37 PM

Cheddar and sour cream for me :). Plus as an added bonus all the flavoring sticks to your fingers so you have double the fun when you lick them off after you are all done.

I also had these Dill Pickle chips that were surprisingly pretty good.

!!!!!!

I just finished off a bag of each of those flavors!

LS May 16, 2006 07:41 PM

Best is Ruffles sour cream and cheddar, its too salty but still it taste good~

Why Am I Allowed to Have Gray Paint May 16, 2006 07:47 PM

These Lays are just the equivalent of Walkers' crisps, aren't they? My favourite flavour is cheese and onion or something beefy. Ironically the Marmite flavour tastes beefier than the beef flavour they sell. Also, anything that tastes smokey/spicy. I shouldn't forget Roysters either.

Frylock May 16, 2006 07:57 PM

Chocolate dipped potato chips are the best. Why lie. It's somewhat of a delicacy and they're quite expensive so I can't gorge myself like I would on a one pound bag of plain chips.

kat May 16, 2006 09:29 PM

Lay's Cool Guacamole. Actually tastes avocado-y but I can't find it anywhere anymore.

Lay's Limon chips were good too.

Visavi May 16, 2006 09:53 PM

I don't have a preference for chip brand, but the kind of chips I prefer:

Barbecue, Ranch, and Cheese Puffs. I do like some of the others like original and salt & vinegar, and probably a few others, but those are my top three.

SunkistTheHedge May 16, 2006 10:27 PM

I prefer pringles lately but I think Im going to. get bored with them soon! So i also like doritos cool ranch/spicy nacho.

Rydia May 16, 2006 10:55 PM

I typically like chips that are plain or cheese-flavored.

I remember enjoying Poore Brothers Original a few years ago when the chips first came out. I haven't had them since then.

Blackberry May 17, 2006 03:18 AM

ketchup chips~ lol yummy...

Yunnie May 17, 2006 04:03 AM

I like the original flavor... then vineger & wine or anything sour come in second to be my fav.

gaming May 17, 2006 07:13 AM

I like those Cheetah hot chips... Don't remember the name... Does anybody know who makes them?
It has a picture of a orange cheetah with black shades

Pez May 17, 2006 08:31 AM

Staple chips are plain, cheese & onion, and sour cream & bacon –any brand, except only Tasty Jacks does the last one. Other flavours which I’ll easily devour (but only if I can find them) are Lamb & Mint, and Hot English Mustard Chips –damn amazing.

Zio May 17, 2006 09:08 AM

Isn't it Krunchers or whatever that has that airy/crisp to them? They have an awesome salt/pepper flavour as well.

Hmm, I suppose sour cream flavour or whatever you call, those Pizza flavoured from Pringles and there are a lot of others. As long as it isn't vinger/salt and as well BBQ, I'm good.

IdleChill May 17, 2006 11:02 AM

why lie.

sup saka?

Taco May 17, 2006 12:23 PM

Favorite chips in GENERAL are Salsa Doritos, but those are tortilla chips.

Remember when Lays had their little gag going where they'd have a different flavor of chips every month based off potatos from a different location? I liked their "Loaded" Baked Potato chips a lot, shame Pringles took them and murdered it :<

Also, anyone else like Dill chips?

Zio May 17, 2006 04:57 PM

The dill chips are overpowering to me and rather salty.

Roph May 17, 2006 07:13 PM

Walkers have two flavours out right now that I've been eating so much ;_; literally 2/3 bags of each a day:

Marmite, and Lamb&Mint.

Ryuu May 17, 2006 07:35 PM

Salt and Vinegar is fine for a light snack, but eating a lot of it makes me start to hate it for a while.

I love Sour Cream and Onion, amazing amazing amazing flavor of chips. Cheetos are just a given - a staple in many individuals' diets.

Helloween May 17, 2006 09:41 PM

For the longest time it was Salt and Vinegar, but All Dressed has now caught up, and they're neck 'n neck. Second would probably be Ketchup.

Yeah that's it. Thanks yamaha! :D
The hotter chips, the better for me!

Arienas May 18, 2006 12:53 PM

Orginal Sunchips, or Shrimp Chips.

I'm ready to import a bag of ketchup chips from wherever people are buying them. I've never seen them at any store.

I think they are sold in the U.S. I saw them around my region once, but I wasn't too interested in them (or dill pickle either, but my brother loves the dill pickle chips). I think Lays makes ketchup-flavored chips.

Helloween May 18, 2006 07:04 PM

Doritos made a ketchup chip for a while, i haven't seen them around in a bit. Old Dutch makes them, Lays makes them, and most no name brands in Canada carry that flavour.

I think i had heard that Ketchup chips are intensley hard to find outside of Canada, and are rather uncommon outside of Manitoba.

Domino May 18, 2006 07:09 PM

I like the way they taste, as well as the way they melt in my mouth.

Zio May 18, 2006 11:15 PM

I love sunchips to death, I just wish they have more flavours.

CuteChocobo May 19, 2006 12:11 AM

I like any brand as long as the flavor is "Sour Creame and Chives", "Sweet Chili flavor" :D

Dee May 19, 2006 02:05 AM

I'm a fan of jalepeno, barbeque, and plain. Sour cream and onion is alright, but after a while it gets annoying. I also like Flaming hot, but that also is difficult to consume a lot of.

*AkirA* May 20, 2006 12:55 AM

Salsa Verde Doritos, may they rest in peace. They were gods gift to chips and man, but alas, they've been discontinued. Whoa is me.

TrinityJayOne May 20, 2006 05:54 AM

Woe*

I much prefer corn chips (Doritos plain/"Original" to be exact) to potato as they're not greasy and seem more filling, not to mention they go hand-in-hand with what is quite possibly man's greatest creation ever - salsa. But if Potato is the only option, plain old barbeque never fails.

unknown_user May 28, 2006 04:17 AM

My favorite was Ruffles KC masterpiece bbq chips. They went away for awhile, then came back but now their only sold in huge $3.59 bags. :(

Dewman May 28, 2006 04:23 AM

I love Kettle's chilli chips. It's so much better than "white-boy can't take real chilli" flavours. It's actually decently hot and not sweet.

electric_eye May 28, 2006 11:06 AM

Salt and vinegar. They even make my lips pink. I don't mind other flavours but hardly ever go for the cheese type flavours.

Cobra Commander Jun 1, 2006 06:43 AM

Poore Brothers Japaleno Flavor....Nuff said

Kairyu Jun 1, 2006 06:53 AM

I consider myself a fan of those black-peppercorn flavored chips. I forgot the name of the particular brand that sells them but they have a unique looking bag. The colors of course varied with each flavor (I believe the pepper flavor was brown and black) and the bag itself was unusually thick.

The other kind of chip I can never turn down are those tortilla chips that are made for dipping into salsa.

Lady Miyomi Jun 1, 2006 08:17 PM

I'm quite fond of Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips. Sun Chips are probably the only chips I like.

Chibi Neko Jun 11, 2006 03:41 PM

There used to be this flavor called 'crispy fries' and had a great BBQ taste to them, it was a long time ago but the bag was smaller, blue, and had a pic of the munchies eating french fries on it. the chips where shaped like flat fries.
