PHOENIX WRIGHT 2!!!!!! (I JUST CAME!!!!!)
OH SHIT GUYS, IT'S COMING.

Hot sex. Hopefully Capcom won't be a big block of mouldy cheese again and actually make sure there are enough copies of this when it hits. >=|
"HERE ARE THREE COPIES" "But that's not nearly enough for America" "FOUR COPIES" "I don't think you understa-" "TWO COPIES" |
Damn straight =I And Infernal's prediction shall come true I'm sure ;\
I still need to finish the last case on the first one >_> |
Four copies is enough for Me, CHz, Tails and Skills.
I see no problems with this. |
Tails said I could have his copy.
Spoiler:

WHERE IS SCHWARZE SQUADRON, SHOOT THIS TRAITOR DOWN

Easy on the Ace Combat Zero-like dialect D: I still haven't rented it~ |
Does anyone know if it's a translation of one of the GBA games, or a totally new game?
Not like I won't buy it instantly, but I'm just curious. |
I'd think it'd continue from where the first one left off. Japan doesn't need to have re-releases/graphical upgrades of prior ones since they aren't that old. It'll be new story and cases I'm sure.
|
I disagree, Gechmir. Phoenix Wright 1 was a GBA port, and I suspect this one will be a GBA port as well. There's quite a bit of continuity they'd be breaking if they just suddenly released Phoenix Wright 4 (which is the current in development title in Japan).
|
It was? D= Well. How about that. I guess they are gonna remake the next game in line then. Better than waiting on GBA translations I s'pose!

Double Post: Interesting. According to a blurb in the Pheonix Wright entry at Wikipedia, the game's official American title is Pheonix Wright: Justice For All, and it is indeed Gyakuten Saiban 2. GameFAQs has it, too. |
Is it even possible for this game not to be great? I am so getting it regardless of which game it is. Either way, it's gonna be totally fucking great.
|
|
Why not just post :bigmiu:? =O

I'm hoping the game will be longer. Hell, add two GBA ports, into one DS game. That'd be worth the buy. |
Most defenitely. I'll pledge my alligence to Phoenix Wright. I'm reserving this when I get news of it at Gamestop.

The press release. Hell yeah. I loved the first game, can't wait to get my hands on this. |
Quote:
So where did that October 06 date mentioned in the first post come from? Maybe it's the Japanese release date. Oh well, at least now I have time to save up for it. |
I'm going to preorder it again from Capcom's website if they do a cool deal like last time.
Pointing objection finger stylus for the fucking win! :megaman: |
Sweet, Gyakuten 2! I'm hoping the JPN release will have both Japanese and English like the first one. The LE pack Capcom released for it was kick-ass.
|
OMFG. There is no time for hesitation. There is no time for objections.
MUST PREORDER. IMMEDIATELY. It is times like this I know I did the right thing buying a DS over a PSP. FUCK YES. |

Gametrailers has the trailer and gameplay footage up!
No one can deny how great this game will be. Seriously. |
Quote:
|
Yeah, it did. Even if this one has that though, I'll still probably wait until the Amercan version comes out, just to have the manual and stuff in English.
|
Since this game has received such positive hype in this forum, I decided to get it. And you guys were right, PW:AA is awesome! I laughed so hard when that Sawhit guy threw his toupe at Phoenix at the end of the first case.
Looking forward to the sequel BIGTIME. |
Damn. I didn't realize Phoenix Wright was so good. I think...I think I'm going to have to hunt for it now. The fact that you yell "Objection!" into the mic is amazing.
|
I see they have really upgraded the gfx and UI yes awesome ~_~.
PW is cool, i just hope the sequel is much harder then the first one. |
Gonna bump the thread to let everyone know that pre-orders over at Play-Asia are in progress. You can pre-order Gyakuten Saiban 2 (Phoenix Wright 2) for $29.90 + $2.60 shipping and the first batch of pre-orders will receive a sticker set with it.
It has a full English translation (as the first one did) and is region free, so this really isn't a bad deal to grab this version ahead of time and then the US version later on down the line to boost sales in the US to keep them coming. |
You know, I haven't even gotten the first one yet. I was having trouble finding anywhere that had it (not that I looked too hard), so when I saw it on Amazon while I was ordering my copy of Mario Hoops, I snagged a copy. Now I just have to wait like a' whole 'nother week.
But if it is as good as everyone says it is, I might as well just order this now. |
I can guarantee you that you will not spend a better $32 when you pre-order the game. I still pop in the first one and play it all the time even though I've beaten every case a great number of times.
|
I suggest people to wait for the US version, Capcom America has to get enough profit so they can translate the 3rd one, pick up the Japanese version only if you can't wait for one or two more months, or if you can spend $30 more to purchase the English version when it's released here in order to support Capcom...
|
I have to agree about the first game. Best thirty bucks I've EVER SPENT. Literally. I was giggling like a schoolgirl half the time I was playing it. :p
And I am SO PRE-ORDERING THIS. <333333333333 |
HOLD IT!
American version to have added content (like the first one), so don't go preordering the import! |
So buy both of them. You get your game early and you support the US sales along with being able to play the new version with new content.
Problem solved. |
I don't think they'd release it in Japan without that extra episode, guys. The game is out on GBA after all. What's it worth to just port it to DS just for a touch screen interface if they already have the game? I'm betting this is just news that the game will have a new episode. It doesn't say that the Japanese aren't getting this new episode as well.
However, I do strongly agree that you should buy the US release of this game so that we can get the 3rd and 4th games over here too even if you do decide to import it to play it early. |
Eh, I'm not too big on importing, and I'm not impatient either, so I'll just wait for it to come out here. I know it has the English version in it as well, and regardless of the extras being included in it, I just can't justify buying the Japanese version and then the American version as well. Aside from owning two copies of the same game (which is pretty ridiculous), I could always just use that money to buy another game to keep me busy until then (I already have plenty of games though, I was just using that as an example).

Of course, because clearly it would cost the same amount of money to buy both Gyakuten Saiban 2 and Phoenix Wright 2 as it would to buy a brand new PS3. Not to mention the three to four month distance between the respective releases.
I'm planning on nabbing the US version when it releases as well, then either giving or selling the import (or whichever I prefer) to someone who hasn't yet experienced the greatness that is Phoenix Wright. Of course, this also takes into account that I'm not buying any of the newer two next gen consoles (nor will I buy a 360) when they release either. My policy has always been to let the consoles simmer a year or two and gain momentum before I invest in them. Therefore, I'll have quite a bit of extra money in my pocket to use for something like this. |
And, unfortunately, I am not in the same position. Allow me to rephrase my comment.
I don't have enough money to throw around to buy the same game twice. |
Quote:
NO version will have additional content. The Japanese release will be the same as the US release. While a new case would have been nice, and of course this won't change too many people's plans, there's no reason to hold back on the import outside of sales. and quite honestly, I'll take whatever I can get since supply will be low and demand high again |
Aww, that sucks, but like you said, I have no plan to change my plans. I preordered the first game a couple of months before it came out here, and I'll probably do the same thing with this one.

No more spraying luminol fluid at every crime scene in the bonus case? :( |
Guys, I imagine Capcom will allow you to preorder the game off of their website again like last time.
I got a whole mess of free goodies when I did that for the first game. It was very righteous. :megaman: |

Just checked, and there's nothing so far about pre-ordering on Capcom's website only this lone press release:
http://www.capcom.com/news/news.xpml?prid=700075 |
Since play-asia's recently announced that they won't be including their sticker set on it's release, I'm sort of down. I'd really love to have those stickers on my DS. But alas, they cease to exist.
I'm still getting it, though. The japanese version has english like the original so I'm not worried about that. If it's anything like the first game it'll be out of stock within a week, because I think the original's deemed "rare" by now. Sealed Phoenix Wright's are selling on ebay for insane prices. |
Quote:
|
I've never seen why they sold for those prices. Even before the reprint, I've always seen at least one new copy at every Gamestop I went to. I know that probably wasn't the situation everywhere, but it still never seemed as rare as people made it out to be.
|
Back in August, my best friend came up here to stay a couple days and to check out the town. He was interested in playing some of my new DS games, Phoenix Wright being one of them. He played the first case, and was immediately hooked wanting to get his own copy.
We went to every possible video game selling retail store within a 20 mile radius looking for the game. The most we found, and what he eventually settled on, was a used copy that had no manual or box for $24.99. Maybe some areas simply got more of them in stock than others did. I got my copy out of complete and sheer luck, I wasn't even looking for it at the time. Not really a way to explain it I guess. |
Back this summer when I was looking for my copy, I wasn't able to find a single one anywhere in the state (Minnesota). At least in any of the ones near my house. Gamespot.com also says there were none within 200 miles. I ended up getting mine from national console support. Which, by the way, still has new copies in stock so anyone who has paid a hundred dollars for this game on ebay in the last few months is an idiot.
|
I scored a used copy at my local Blockbuster of all places for about $24 and it was complete. Box, game, manual and even had the other useless papers. There was a new copy that stayed on the shelves a good month after the news of the discontinuation but my area is known for looking over games other than sport games.
|
Just preorded the Japanese version from playasia (hallelujah for the english translation). Too about the stickers, though... I was kind of looking forward to them.
The first game is one of the best I've played on the DS (although, technically, its a GBA game, right?), and if number 2 is anything like it, I won't be disappointed. |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiPwIGqxhdc
Preview for number 4.. I'm extremely confused about this whole thing. So 1-3 was on GBA and they're rereleasing them on DS and at the same time, they're releasing a new number 4 for DS as well? Anyone know if 4 will have English on the Japanese version as well? |
1-3 were released on GBA. 1 and soon 2 will be re-released with enhanced sound and touch-interface for the DS. 1-3 are coming/already(?) out to Jap mobile phones. 4 is a completely new arc featuring brand new protagonists, coming to the DS in Japan only, period. Got it memorised? :P
|
Well the fourth one is Japan-only. For now.
|
All I know is, Phoenix Wright 2 is coming at the end of the month (in japan) in english. You'd be insane not to buy it.
Actually, I've already preordered it. Unfortunately it doesn't come with stickers, but eh, it's the game I really want after all. |
Quote:
Except......what was up with the judge????? O_O |
Mine shipped from NCSX today, can't wait!
|
I almost forgot about this game since I had it pre-ordered so long ago. It should be coming by the end of the week I believe.
There will be much rejoicing and many hours spent solving evil cases. |
I've been playing this and found it to be just as good as the original. Except can somebody tell that bitch van Karma to put her whip away? Thanks.
What's interesting is that not only English text is in this game, but ENGLISH VOICE ACTING. HOLY SHIT. (Sadly, von Karma sounds like a sissy. Capcom screwed up that VA.) |
Quote:
We could only assume if Capcom of Japan brings the Third to the DS it'll have a selection made for English. Probably would still keep it on Japanese regardless of text anywho. T_T |
It's more than just English text. There's two interesting aspects:
1) English voice acting. 2) If you play in one language, the save only works for that language. So you play the English version for a while and wanna switch to Japanese, you have to start from the beginning. I'm through Episode 2 and it's harder than the original IMO. The 2nd episode definately throws a few really fantastic loops in there. Though while the psyche locks throw an interesting twist to the game, you can't completely fail while going through that portion of the game, you just lose more life. |

Clearly the best Phoenix Wright promo video ever.. Meanwhile, I've been playing the sequel for a while now, and is it just me or do the new court room songs sound a lot more gameboy advance-ish than the previous game? I'm glad they threw in some of the old tunes when familiar faces showed up. |
I finally finished the game.
Case 4 is HARDER THAN ALL PRIOR CASES IN BOTH GAMES COMBINED. OH MY GOD. *pulls hair out* That case was one major fucking headache. Great story, but damn what a pain in the ass. |
I liked the final part of the final case.
Spoiler:
This case was so freakishly long and there were moments where a wrong accusation was instantaneous death. At least it had the best story, in my opinion. |
Man, I was fully expecting an encore case, much like in the first game, but there wasn't one. Now I feel let down and desperate for more cases..
|
For those of you interested in supporting the US release that may or may not already have the import best price release, US pre-orders have begun.
$29.99 at Gamestop/EB, current pre-order bonus as of right now is only the finger point stylus, see images in below links to see a small shot of it. http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?N...=0&find=Search http://www.ebgames.com/search.asp?Nt...=0&find=Search The stylus will ship with the game for online orders, and you'll receive it with the game for in-store orders. |
Isn't that similar (if not exactly the same) to the one you got with the first game if you preordered it from Capcom's website? It's cool either way though, since I never got that one.
|
I believe it is the same one, and I never got one either so this is a good opportunity for anyone that doesn't have one to get one.
It will be interesting to see if Capcom will up the ante on the pre-order bonuses at all following what Konami did with the Castlevania DS release. I doubt it, but it'd be cool nonetheless. |
Even though I've beaten the game already, I HAVE to get the full US version, JUST for that stylus.
|
That new character in PW4 just suck i want phoenix back.
Also i didnt encounter/noticed any VA in PW2, just finished 1st case. |
