favourite movie quotes
 

I'm not sure how well this thread did before the crash, but I figured why not give it another try. just post your favourite quotes, try to list the movie and the character [or actor] that says it and if perchance you feel like it, explain why it's your favourite.



to get things going, these are the first two quotes that come to mind that really stuck with me:

it's quite simply one of, if not the best apologies/I-love-you's I've ever heard in a film. I thought it was wonderful.

and the second:
I always liked this quote, simply because I'm sure we've all been there, but that is just a damn fine eloquent way of putting it. too bad the rest of the film wasn't quite so great.

"Have you tried NOT being a mutant?"--Mrs. Drake (X-Men 2: X-Men United) It's just so silly, yet I can imagine someone actually saying it.

"Anonymity is the mutant's first defense against the world's hostility"--Professor Charles Francis Xavier (X-Men). It reminds me a lot about real life and my favorite non-movie quote.

That's so awesome when she goes up against the Xenomorph Queen and gets all bad ass on her. She overcomes her fears by facing them directly. Quite a fine piece of cinema.

"I'm not your fucking mommy!" - Mom in The Ring 2

This, on the other hand, is not cinema, but it was a priceless moment in what was a really disappointing sequel.

My favorite line out of the two movies. Budd knows they fucked up when they nearly killed the Bride, and he's ready to get what's coming to him. I'd think of something else, but it's 4:30 in the morning. Sleep time.

actually that was "Owen Davian" from Mission Impossible 3. same guy who played Capote, yes, but most definitely not the same movie.

"I'm your huckleberry" from Tombstone is my number one favorite, followed closely by "That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten" from Pulp Fiction (The Wolf).

There are so many more, but I felt like I should narrow it down to two.

I love sarcasm, and nothing goes better with sarcasm then the threat of firearms.

These two quotes are by far my favorite of all movies, and I use (overuse) them in regular context when speaking to people. Allthough they all come from the first Ace Ventura, the second is however my favorite...every time I watch these movies or hear the quotes, I never fail to find it hilarious.

"You got knocked the fuck out!" Can't remember which character, but it was in the first Friday movie. It's one of my more fave qoutes :)

Sure there are lots of more deep and thought provoking quotes out there. But these are the ones that come up and awful lot.

That movie had some awesome quotes. I can't believe I haven't bought the DVD yet.

Also, I feel inclined to include my favorite Batman quote of all time. But it doesn't come from a movie, it's from the animated series, after he has the Sewer King (who would abuse and enslave children) just inches away from a moving train.

I think that line was supposed to parallel a lot of parenst reactions to their kids being gay - "Have you tried not being gay?".

It's still silly, but I can imagine plenty of people saying it.

LOL, which is funny b/c I think the actor who plays Bobby Drake has this huge pet peeve about being called gay. He respects gay people, but he get's very mad when called gay.
