Live re-enactment of an entire stage of Super Mario Bros. It's part of the talent show at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. It's pretty sweet.

Totally kick-ass. I love how it incrementally got better and better (they tried to find a way to represent pretty much any power/event in the game).

If they could have worked in some kind of Bullet Bill or Bowser Fight, it'd be even better (of course, they're on different levels, though).

Loved the pause screen.

That was quite amazing. The human mind and its ability to improvise is amazing.

Man, that video was freaking amazing. I hope they at least won the talent show after putting all that effort into it.

And we all know it was better than the Super Mario Bros. movie.

That was almost even funnier, fortunately the actor improvised.

Essentially it can be disregarded as "Uh, it's a glitch! The NES had tons of em!"

I didn't even realize that it wasn't supposed to happen until I watched it a second time. I just thought he did it purposely at first. It did make it funnier overall, though.

There were lots of mistakes, all over the place.... you could tell it was the group's first time actually performing that for anyone.

Props for creativity, although I wish they could've executed it better.

This is just awesome. Anyone who can recreate Mario that well deserves my props.

Yeah, even after they finally got the music working, the sound effects were all out of place. Awesome stuff regardless.

I thought my roommate Ern was a big Mario dork but this guys were complete dorks but they were soo fucking cool about it. A live action reactment of Mario Bro 1...

Good stuff. I'm particularily fond of the "pause" scene, but overall very amusing even with the few mishaps here and there.

Those aren't xylophones. That's a marimba. A xylophone doesn't have room for two players, and 2 xylophones wouldn't have a high octave and low one.

Also, most of the things they play are not in any way difficult to do solo. Off the top of my head I could play the swimming music and the starman song on a marimba by myself, and with a little practice just about everything else they played.

Heh, that was pretty good. It would have been awesome if there was a castle stage.

He didn't get Boo'd...did he? All I heard was a bunch of "Awws" brought on by disappointment.

I actually thought this was a complete waste of time...... Sure the idea is unique and they did mess up somewhat at the end, but the guy runs like a freaking grandma. A kid can run in place better.

The whole Mario thing in general is starting to become more and more like a played out joke.

I thought it was good--and I've never played a Mario game in my life. So, no fandom here.

It was very well-executed. A good actor takes glitches in stride and works with them. For example: The mis-cue on the star--he just kept going until it sounded, and the one guy took part of Mario's costume--so why not give him the rest.

And I'd like to see someone run in place for five minutes (okay--less for PAUSE--that was great), trying to remember everything he's supposed to do, and pray you don't fall doing it.

My favorite was the one "bush" guy walking across like it was an everyday thing for him.

I didn't like that one nearly as much the first one. The setting wasn't right, the props weren't as good, and watching him eat that mushroom and flower was fucking scary. It had the potential to be good though, especially since it wasn't a live performance.

I did laugh a bit at the part with the Fireball bucket. I had no idea what was up with the water part, though.

err... wait... what?

It seems like nowadays Mario is getting used all over the place: T-shirts with pixelated Marios on them, a capella groups singing Mario music, all sorts of "lol mario" videos on google/youtube. It's all starting to look like a tired comic device.

Can someone clarify whether they just outright stole the idea or if the act schematics were open to the public or what?

You'd think with the bigger budget that McDonald's has, they could've at least made an effort to hide the ninjas. Their hands aren't even covered.

Furthermore...

Phew, sorry for the outburst, but McDonald's failure to mimic a classic game properly infuriates me.
