The wretched nut-case, Ann Coulter, should be one of those people. She spews out so much crap, it's amazing that she still has followers. Yes, I suppose there comes a point where you can stupidly harp on so much that no one takes you seriously anymore; therefore, you just become a pethatic parody of yourself. However, just because the fact that you're apeshit-crazy becomes common knowledge, it doesn't make listening to you any less unpleasant. The only time that I recall feeling warm and fuzzy inside while watching her was when she got pied while attempting to give some bullshit speech. Which, I'm sure consisted of her regurgitating statements that extreme right-wingers would spooge in their pants over. That was awsome.

If you're not familiar with this monstrosity, you can check out some of her less outrageous statements here . (And if anyone actually gives that to a child, they might as well hand the child a giant dildo dipped in acid. After all, if you're raising your child to be a giant kunt-faced, asshole, the least you can do is provide him/her with the proper equipment)

Misogynyst Gynecologist Apr 25, 2006 12:52 AM

Anne Coulter reminds me of the American Flag in a certain respect.

The flag represents our unique ability to express whatever idea we want -- the fact that it can be desecrated with impunity is, in my mind, an ultimately positive concept: in order to disrespect the flag, you must make tacit admission about the greatness of the system that allows you to do so. You're not protesting anything by burning the flag - you're proving how free it makes you.

By decrying the liberal party, Anne Coulter only recognizes the power they hold in the system.

(As an aside: The "rules" set forth in the United States Flag Code are not laws, they are simply guidelines (suggestions) for treating the flag with respect. Such a law as passed by the Congress could not exist, as it would be directly contradictory to the modern understanding of the First Amendment, which concludes that expression is covered under the free speech provision. That's why whenever the 'flag burning' debate appears, it take the form of demanding a constitutional ammendment -- that's the only way there could ever be a law that effects how you treat the flag (but no such ammendment exists now, nor is it likely ever to actually be passed).)

Perhaps only if purposeful social deconstructionists(people who want to change things for the sake of change, not for any overarching purpose) and civil rights predators "defenders" like J. Jackson can be thrown into that group.

Thanks for owning everbody in this thread.

As for me, while she overexaggerates stuff a lot of the time, Coulter is pretty awesome and funny. Being a conservative, I tend to agree with where she's coming from. I enjoy her hardball attitude that is rarely seen by conservatives in the media. (I know you all are gonna jump my case and disagree there and say a bunch of shit about Rush, Hannity, and O'Reily but really they're a drop in the bucket compared to the lib shows that consume the majority of media.) Go ahead and hate me you oh so tolerant libs, cause I listen to Rush too.

How is this any less stupid than what Sanguis Deus said that Wesker shot down? I mean, you people are two sides of the same stupidity coin.

Misogynyst Gynecologist Apr 29, 2006 06:16 PM

I mean, on one hand you have Wesker and MetheGelfling who are probably two of the stupidest people to attempt to feign an intellectual arguement on the forum.

This isn't to say that they're terrible people because I'm sure they're nice but they're fuckin rock-bottom stupid most of the time and it shows in the political conversations and attempts at disagreements.

Meth Apr 29, 2006 06:19 PM

So I'm stupid for sharing the same ideology as Coulter. I find it entertaining that she's over the top and facetious a majority of the time. Sanguis Deus' statement was hypocritical considering his ideology; maybe you could explain how I'm hypocritical for saying "Coulter is a conservative and so am I."

Iwata Apr 29, 2006 06:22 PM

The bitch says she is a dead-head, with her idealogy she can't consider herself one.

Anyways the bitch needs to be shot along with Al Franken, now where is this supposed liberal biasness?

knkwzrd Apr 29, 2006 06:23 PM

MetheGelfing, LeHah said you were a dumbass, not a hypocrit.

Meth Apr 29, 2006 06:29 PM

Lemme get this straight. According to Lehah, Sanguis Deus is stupid for being hypocritical, and I'm stupid for being a conservative.

If this isn't the case, then perhaps Lehah could educate me. And maybe he could do it without being so insulting.

Duo Maxwell Apr 29, 2006 07:39 PM

I think this whole liberal/conservative linear graph bullshit is ridiculous. It gives people some sort of broad label, making it easier for them to group anyone who does not agree with them into the category of the "other."

I'm conservative economically, but not socially. I think some sort of subsidized healthcare system would work, notice I didn't say "nationalized." On the other hand, I believe in fewer taxes (while trying to optimize the spending in regards to our income), no corporate welfare and, well, fuck if you want to marry someone who is the samesex, go ahead. In fact, I'd probably abolish government regulation of marriage (this includes giving tax benefits to married couples, it's discriminating against single people, if you ask me).

I think that my ideas are pragmatic, not that they uphold one moralistic view over another. I try to be a fairly tolerant person, but, unfortunately, a majority of the human population is not socially evolved enough to be tolerant. That's fine, it might change over time. It might not. The idea is to minimize the impact of intolerance in the general populace without infringing on the rights of individuals.

Bradylama Apr 29, 2006 07:59 PM

Spoiler:
Duo is a Libertarian.

Or more specifically, a Corporate Anarchist. Which I think is just cute, but it does go to show you how much bullshit labelling becomes even within specific political spheres.

"Being a Conservative,"

Why not rational thinker? Oh wait, I forgot. The media has a liberal bias am i rite?

Duo Maxwell Apr 29, 2006 08:45 PM

I wouldn't really describe myself as Libertarian, anymore, though.

I do vote Libertarian quite often, because yes, quite a few of my political views do fit the Libertarian "agenda," but they don't support subsidies for social programs like healthcare. They believe it should be left entirely upto to corporations and their respective HMO/PPOs.

Well, I'm glad they don't hate me. I listen to Rush and read some of Coulter's stuff merely for entertainment value. It's not like I'm feeding on their every word like it's the gospel truth. Also, I'm not about to defend Rush for his drug abuse. I was really disappointed in him, but at the same time... he's just an entertainer; it's not like I hold him as a role model.

Eh, not really. I just made a statement that I'm a conservative and find Coulter entertaining. I'm not claiming that me being a conservative in any way makes me any more intelligent than anybody else. I'm not sure how you gathered this from my posts here. The world is filled with intelligent people who find themselves all over the political spectrum. To say that someone is stupid on the basis of their ideology is a pretty gross overgeneralization. Yes, however the harpy that is Ann Coulter is not one of those people. She's more like an entertainment industry reject who made a home for herself at the crapper end of the intellectuals on TV crowd. Therefore what she has to say is neither entertaining nor profound. She has nothing to offer.

Duo Maxwell Apr 30, 2006 02:11 PM

You know, that seems to be most of the mainstream media (political commentary or otherwise), though nothing profound or entertaining, yet we're still subjected to their drivel.

Wesker Apr 30, 2006 03:33 PM

I think Coulter is funny, and I agree with alot of her points. I also think Bill Maher (sp) is funny too, and I don't agree with alot of his stuff. I like to listen to Glen Beck because he has a conservative spin, but his show is hilarious and mocks everyone. Rush is just a republican mouthpiece and I think he's boring. You folks who hate Coulter for her right wing views, take a listen to no talent hack Al Franken and the whacked out things he has to say.

You have a point until you hear that Coulter says we should invade Canada and calls people Nazis or liberals as terrorists. I mean, there comes a point when you begin to wonder if shes trying to play up being a dumb bitch - or if she wants to be taken seriously

Duo Maxwell Apr 30, 2006 05:08 PM

I think she's a dumb bitch who wants to be taken seriously.

Wesker, I can laugh at what Ann Coulter has to say, but it's not because I necessarily agree with her arguments, she's almost like a really big charicature of the right-wing.

Bill Maher is incredibly funny, even when he's not using anything politically loaded in his routine. The difference between Coulter and Maher is that Maher is sort of an independent (He says he's a libertarian). He's not that liberal, he's more of a centrist.

Al Franken is, well, he's Al Franken, I don't really find him to be that funny.

I would like to see someone who is a political Nihilist, actually poking fun at both sides.

So, I'm dumb, and all conservatives are dumb because we share an ideology with Coulter. Way to overgeneralize. That's like saying that all Christians are evil cause you think Pat Robertson is an asshole.

And Technophile, as much as you think Coulter is a dumbass, she still has made a lucrative career doing what she's doing. Of course they are. She's going out of her way to be extreme and over the top. Anybody who takes her seriously when she says stuff like that needs to have their head examined. I'm not trying to make this a partisan issue at all. If anything I'm trying to do the opposite. Coulter is over the top for the sake of entertainment, not cause of her ideology. Coulter isn't a prime example of her ideology. Techofuck actually said I was dumb for sharing an ideology with her. So if anybody is bringing partisanship into it and being critical of an ideology it's him.

I think Coulter is funny, and it's especially funny how bent out of shape people get whenever they take her shit seriously. She's obviously going out of her way to be extreme and push people's buttons.

So anything i say that is extreme and not in the right-wing's best views, why am i labeled a terrorist and taken into custody ( happened once to me)? Shouldn't they know not to take this shit seriously?

Meth May 1, 2006 04:25 PM

No I am not a fascist or a neo-con.

If you read her stuff, she's a self-proclaimed conservative.

Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

From everything that I've read on her, she's never promoted the idea of dictatorship or strong centralized government. This is one thing that I've never understood... the idea that extreme conservatism leads to fascism. How does the general trend towards the right of less gov't interference with private affairs and capitalism without regulations lead to blind insane nationalism and ultimate devotion to a totalitarian dictator? If anything, the trends of conservatism lead more towards anarchism than anything else.

Besides, who cares. All this dumbass thread boils down to is:

Technofuck: "Coulter is a cunt!"
Me: "I think she's pretty funny. She's an entertainer that shouldn't be taken seriously."
Technofuck: "You're a cunt for having a different opinion."
Wesker: "Technofuck, you sure are tolerant of other's opinions."
Me: "owned."
Lehah: "You all are dumb... eh, I have nothing else to contribute."
Devo: "Quit being partisan! Coulter is a fascist... are you?"
Me: "WTF?! eh, no. Wait, didn't you just say to keep ideology and partisanship out of this?"

And all this in the Media Center. Awesome.

Maybe it should've just went:

Technofuck: "Coulter's a cunt."
Everybody else who agrees: "Yeah, you're right, let's all jerk each other off in a big circle!"

I don't see how anyone could defend the extremes of either side. They are probably the worst thing for your party, as they give a figure head for the other side to point at and try to make out the entire political view to seem as bad, or in the same line of thought, as them. Plus it promotes more thinking along their lines of "pro-party, regardless of what they might be standing for" mentality, which is always bad.
