So I'm recreating the MapleStory thread.
The cash shop has pets, with a meso-magnet and item bag, thoes pets will automatically pick up your monster drops. I have a kitty and I rarely have to press Z, worth the $5 imo.

I'm currently focussed on my Khaini character, Epiphaniness.
I miss Scania, I don't even mind that its so packed with people, its that the server has always "reached capacity."

I started on Broa. I have a level 15 Rogue to be a Bandit named Malagash.

Ludibrium got added, which is cool I suppose.

Why create a thread purely to display apathetic interest? If you're going to discuss, do it right.

More like all wiz KS, I quit after reaching lv 6x spearman, so i might be back on soon or something like that.

I'm kinda playing while I wait for Au rose. lvl 28 Rogue (sin) on Broa.

i just started playing this game and I'm currently on level 6 at that server that starts with the letter K. Looks neat so far.

Gets boring after awhile since no PvP system.

I played this during the time it was beta, but the hackers ruined it all. Not only did they exploit the system for themselves, they also made the monsters fly all around the place making it hard to play.

Did they get rid of them yet? Also, is that other world open yet?

There are 5 worlds now:

Scania, Bera, Broa, Windia, and Khaini.

There's also GameGuard, and while there are still hackers, they're generally far and few.

Vac and fly hackers are still around, though they are much more lowkey now than they were in Beta.

EDIT: would anyone happen to know how to play this game windowed? fullscreen is pretty annoying. i tried 3Danalyze but it seems to be recognised as a hack :|

Yes and yes? MaSt now uses "GameGuard" to protect itself against hacking (there are ways around this of course), so its pretty clean now. Also implemented is an on screen number keypad for entering a four digit pin, to prevent keyloggers. The other world I assume you're referring to, Ludibrium, is now open, and is fun because it includes a new Party Quest, lvl35-51.

Iron Boar, Mix Gollum, Zombie Mushmom comming soon. Also, Aqua Road is supposedly comming soon as well. I don't understand why it takes months for a town to show up in global servers, when it shows up in asian servers first (translation time?). And monsters taking months to show up in global servers as well (what's to translate?!)?

I'm on Windia. I play kind of off-and-on, but I still play. Windia is a lot more peaceful than the Beta of old.

oh well. i have played this game for more than a year. since beta actually.
the game is still ruined despite the gameguard, there are still hackers in the game. before last patch there tons of hackers, even the high leveled and known players hacked. now there are fewer hackers around.

me myself, im level 92 crusader if that really matters

and one more thing, its not bandits or mages that kill steal, its those damn assassins that are kill stealers. most damned annoying class in maple story

He is just sharing his experience from another community board that is Maple Story only. And yes, it is pretty sad how they don't really care and the whole board is supposted to be on Maple Story.

Anyways, Maple Story is bascially P.O.S in my opinion. Too dull, nothing unique. Oh wait, maybe a mod will pop out and ban me for saying this just like RO section.

Zakum is available to fight in Global, a noteworthy update. Some of my L.120+ buddies took him on and managed to kill a few of his arms before most everyone lagged out or died.

Well, that's awesome. Too bad I'm like, level 63. I love the drama on the newspost on the Mapleglobal site, though. "PRIDE WILL KNEEL BEFORE THE MIGHTY ZAKUM!"

Too bad we can't used a game pad with this game. Hated the controls. :( (And fights were rather boring as well.)

If only it had a faster pace.

I can never understand what the big deal was about this game. I regret the piece of my life i wasted while playing this trash. There's another game that's exactly like this out there too. Called Dragon Realm or something like that.

I'm a level 21 magician. I used to play this game a lot when I had tons of free time a few months back, but now I rarely play it. I'm usually leveling up at sleepy woods.

Kitty plays, huh? That almost makes me want to return to Maple Story. Sadly Trickster has got ahold of my attention, though.

There is now a PvP arena in the CN versions.

PvP? Oh lol, will the stats points effect the PvP from PvE? (For instance, PvE build and PvP builds). If it does, than that's dumbest thing Nexon ever done on their games.

For those who don't know. There was a new patch a few days ago and they banned A LOT of hackers for GlobalMS. I'm mean when you select a server... it's like a ghost town. There's still players but no hackers. The official site says they're going hardcore now so who knows, maybe hackers are gone for good.

Maple Story for me can be a bit of a love hate thing. I love the game, hate some of the people in there. (go to the Orange Mushroom Gardens/Slime Tree and you're bound to find a hacker in at least 3 channels). There's a lot of decent people, but then there are the jerks that tell you to stop healing and kill those monsters (one of those guys were in my party, so I booted him XD). It all depends, different people like different games...

Anyway, I stopped playing this game ages ago. Graphics and cute and stuff, but there were too many Ks'ers running about back when I played, and items cost way too much. Of course, things could be different now, but blah, I already go to another MMORPG so I have no interest in trying it again.

Don't waste your time, it became a hacker cesspool (not that it ever stopped being one, but meh).

Eh...might as well. Even though I only play every now and then mostly do to the hackers and Nexon's view on the matter. I used to play every day....but it just got worse so I cut my time back. Hopefully the new patch fixes it, but that's expecting to much as always, sadly.

I have a magician named Mirika on Khani, but I don't play on that one much. I'll also probably have another character on the new server as well just for the heck of it.

Basically at this points most hackers don't even change channels when you approach them. What's going to happen, they'll get banned? By a GM? *Crowd Laughter*

The community in Maple Story is generally characterized by small "tweens" which usually consist of Asians. The game is degrades from its userbase. Not only that but the game is for carebears. PVP system basically is impossible with the simple gameplay that can be achieved through botting. Botting and hacking ravages the scene as they are abundant. Even the top leveled players are hackers/botters or former ones in their part, though they never admit to it.

I loved this game as it was 2d and i hadnt played any games like this before. I first created a Mage but found it hard to level and hed to keep going back to buy mana pots. But i made a Knight, i leveled much quicker and got to level 19 in the same time to level 9 on mage. I dont play it anymore as i find it boring. I prefere the 3d MMO's.

The pain should set in when you realize that warriors get KS'ed every other kill. Then you'd be lucky to even hit anything, unless if you're dumping your points into DEX rather than STR.

I'm a lv 32 fighter on Broa. Quite painful indeed.

I just started playing MapleStory a few days ago. I find it to be rather fun and addictive. It's a nice game,but I don't like the stupid hackers on there. They always ruin games. ;\

I heard mages are good up to level 30, then they taper off.

Still, I'd prefer moving around and actively attacking things. Personally it makes things a bit more interesting.

I just started the other day.. I still dont know alot about the game. Im on Mardia.. new server I guess? I havent seen any hackers on here yet, but I do see alot of begging for money an stuff.. I guess alot of younger kids play

Is victoria the only island? Ive been trying to find amoria for a long time now, to finish a stupid quest. I got to lvl 18 in 2 days, and im a rogue.

Hackers don't seem to be a big deal these days...

Ever since the move to Nexon and the more frequent appearance of GMs, hackers are a thing of the past... It doesn't mean they aren't around still, but they're still around a lot less.

And you have to enter Amoria though Henesys, you'll see a guy to talk to near the park entrance on the eastern side.

another thing i really hate is the neat items, that change your apperance, can only be got by using real money. If you dont, your character looks pretty much like everyone elses.. not many hair/face types. Oh well, I guess thats how they keep it free.

Ah... I guess, I pimped out my character, but ended up only playing for about two weeks after I got it...
