Higurashi no Naku koro ni The ANN says: Based on a popular, amateur created murder-mystery computer game. I say: SO MOE! I'M GONNA DIE! But it will have Yukari Tamura, Mai Nakahara, Fumiko Orikasa, and Satsuki Yukino in it.

Yougyakumon - no website
So yeah, I'm definitely set on the second seasons of AMG, Aria and School Rumble. Other interesting candidates: Shinigami no Ballad, Ergo Proxy, Soul Link (only because the original game was by the same company that made Shuffle). Oh, and xxxHolic TV.

Spatula Mar 2, 2006 11:36 PM

At this moment, I'm following a few new anime series which I believe have started recently.

Of this new season which Bigblah has outlined, I definately plan on watching ARIA the ANIMATION 2. I do hope that Crystal Nova will continue with the subbing job as I've liked their work with the first season. It did take some time for them to release the last episode for the first season, but I'm pleased with their quality. As well, I will most likely be picking up on Ah! My Goddess Season 2 and perhaps School Rumble Season 2, seeing as the OVAs did not help at all to advance the story. I personally didn't like the OVAs, even though perhaps their intention was just pure comic relief. Hopefully the second season will help bring back more funnies of Harima and Tenma-chan. Although I pray for the last episode to not be a repeat of the cruel joke played on us as in the ending of the first season. Yeah, I know it could not be conclusive because then there wouldn't need to be a second season, but still.

Rydia Mar 2, 2006 11:37 PM

School Rumble Season 2 and Tsubasa Chronicle Season 2 are two I'll be seeing. I'm also curious in seeing what Nana will be like. I've read a few chapters of the manga and it seems interesting.

Hantei Mar 3, 2006 02:53 AM

Oh oh oh, definitely School Rumble Season 2; can't wait to see what Harima's next step will be in his fight for Tenma. Possibly Ah! My Goddess Season 2, if my HD can handle it.

And I'll probably check out the first few episodes of .hack//Roots to see what's new with the series.

DarthSavior Mar 3, 2006 03:49 AM

As of right now the ones i'll be following are:

School Rumble Season 2
Ah! My Goddess TV Season 2
Shinigami Ballad
JoshiKousei Girls High
Nana
and of course.... Disgaea!

Ekon Mar 3, 2006 04:27 AM

Looking forward to Tsubasa Chronicle 2, School Rumble, Aria and Soul Link. Don't know a single thing about Soul Link, but from the creators of Shuffle!, so I expect it to be nice =)

Peter Mar 3, 2006 04:58 AM

It doesn't look that promising to me, and the only shows I'll probably follow are .Hack (fan of Sign and the games), Ergo Proxy (style~) and Disgaea (played and loved the game). The rest just seems like it's all been done before.

chato Mar 3, 2006 05:29 AM

its not as good as it used to be back then but other than that.. i'll probably check all of them and then let a few go cause i know all of them aren't going to be good anyway. Gintama is on my top list though.

aku Mar 3, 2006 10:17 AM

This season looks like much more promising than the last few have.
I will be keeping up with Egro Proxy, .hack//root, Disgaea for sure. (thats alot more than i have been keeping up with recently, last season, i only kept up with...accualy i dont think i kept up with anything last season) I might look into Kiba, because it looks like it might be intresting....

Luceid Mar 3, 2006 10:37 AM

My list goes like this:

Ergo Proxy.
Shinigami no Ballad.
Aria season 2.
School Rumble 2.

Black Lagoon looks interesting, but gotta check some episodes first. Baldr Force EXE Resolution's OP is by KOTOKO and Mami Kawada, so this is a must check. Hopefully the series won't be shitty compared to the song.

hikarub Mar 3, 2006 12:17 PM

Looking forward to Black Lagoon but somewhere deep inside I shudder at the thought that just maybe it will go the way of Black Cat and die........or become really bad.

I will definitely check out the Keroro Gunsou movie. This is a funny title and I just love it! The TV series has gained a new fansub group and I am eagerly awaiting more froggy goodness. (It's what, at episode 98 now in Japan?!)

Hokuto no Ken I have reservations about. A movie sounds interesting and all, but I still remember the crappy OVA series we were subjected to and I don't really expect this to be any better. I guess I will check it out still.

Black Cat
- Currently finishing off this anime

Well, I don't think that Black Cat is "crappy". It just has a different approach than the manga. Still, they have the same story going.

Naruto

School Rumble 2
Ah! My Goddess 2
Tsubasa Chronicle 2
MAJOR 2
Air Gear
Disgea
.hack//ROOTS
xXxHolic
RAY
Yume Tsukai (Dream Tsukai?)
Jyu-Oh-Sei
Zegapain <== I'm a fan of scifi as well :)
Soul Link
Gintama
KIBA

Ooh, .Hack//Root. I knew there was a new anime planned to come out along with the release of .Hack//GU (new PS2 game), but I hadn't heard the name of it. I'll definitely be watching that since I'm admittedly a .Hack fanboy.

Makai Senki Disgaea will hopefully be good, since there's already enough hilarity from the game and manga to tap into. One shot I saw of a crowd of Prinnies was a bit worrying since the CG was awful, but all the other shots have looked fine.

Ergo Proxy I haven't seen much on, but everyone who has looked into it seems excited. Then again, I didn't care for Samurai Champloo that much and this is from the same people I heard. Wasn't this already pre-emptively licensed too? If so, I wonder how many subgroups will actually work on it.

Sir VG Mar 3, 2006 07:39 PM

I'll be catching the new seasons of Tsubasa and Ah My Goddess because season 1 of each was fantastic. And xxxHOLiC in April too? WHEEEEE!!! ^^

No, that's actually Hello Kitty.

:tpg:

Sir VG Mar 3, 2006 10:44 PM

Damn. I was hoping for another Onegai series.

UltimaIchijouji Mar 4, 2006 05:46 AM

A NANA animation, it was only a matter of time.

If somehow I manage to find the time and inspiration to watch anime again, .hack//ROOTS, Disgaea, and Ergo Proxy are on my list, where Ergo Proxy is really the only original series that interests me. There haven't been too many good or original series in the past year, which is saddening.

Where are all the masterpieces? Hopefully they'll resurface soon.

Black Cat is pretty horrible, imo. Well, it was one of the expectations I had with the manga being nothing special, but I still hoped that they could have made some improvements. the music rocks though. As for Black Lagoon, I've looked through the manga while I was in the store, and it's really not my thing; way too much fan art.

Mucknuggle Mar 4, 2006 07:14 AM

I'll give Disgaea, .hack//ROOTS and Ergo Proxy a chance. I might also catch NANA. Nothing else caught my attention. I may check out a few other things if the members here give positive reviews.

same here.

The first episode of Shinigami no ballad is out right now. i believe its by c1anime . the OP song is alright and the lyrics are pretty deep.

ARIA the Animation, along with season two, will be more than enough to satisfy the awesomeness quotient for the rest of the year.

(Totally jumped ship there)

Again? Then why to bother checking it. =\

If Black Lagoon's gonna be that bad, then I'll stick to my previous choices, but then again, checking the first episode is not bad, I guess.

Snowknight Mar 4, 2006 09:09 AM

I'll probably be watching School Rumble season 2 (because I finally got around to watching the first season >_<), Tsubasa Chronicle season 2, and Ergo Proxy.

...and whatever else I have time for. (Yes, I've still got catching up to do.)

Kaiten Mar 4, 2006 07:02 PM

After I'm done with GITS:SAC 2nd GIG, I'll (hopefully) start watching Naruto when the Anime gets to chapter 239. Also I'm currently watching Inuyasha on Adult Swim along with Neon Genesis Evangelion.

bighunt Mar 4, 2006 07:11 PM

Some of the choices look pretty good and i might watch them. (especially Tsubasa season 2). However, I'm still took involved w/some current anime like MAR, Bleach, Naruto...
I just got a batch torrent of Bakuretsu Tenshi. It's pretty interesting so far. Hot chicks and big guns.... GREAT combination!

jouhou Mar 4, 2006 08:37 PM

More .hack?? YES!!! That should mean more Yuki Kajiura!!
Disgaea, digimon, tsubasa chronicles, oh yeah, and hope fully the naruto fillers will end very soon. I lost count of how many fillers there'll be.

They've been pumping out pure filler since episode 135, or for nearly a year. I don't plan on watching anything else really though, Adult Swim gives its few anime fans the cold shoulder...

well, her band has been confirmed for the OP, but there hasn't been any word about her composing the rest of the show's music. She'll probably do it, since she already did some of her best work on the .hack series.

ZeroSlash Mar 5, 2006 02:40 PM

I'm definitly going keep up with Disgaea and maybe .Hack but I'm going to look into Gintama because I loved the little bit of the scanlated manga I've read of it. Sadly I'm on dial up untill I get to colege but I should be there by the end of the summer so I will be able to watch this stuff.

I think this and ergo proxy are on top of my to watch list.

lemonmanko Mar 5, 2006 11:42 PM

lets see.. i will be watching all these for sure

ergo proxy
shinigami no ballad
ki-ba
simoun
air gearGentama
The Ouda High Host Club
soul link
Nana
Zegapain
sasami club
the third
Tokko
Disgaea
strawberry panic!
girls high
Black lagoon
Yume Tsukai
Ray
Witchblade
XXXHolic

but my question is why isn't everybody pumped for tokko
its like #1 on my must see list cause the manga was Awesome
made by the guy who made GTO and on the top 50 best rated mangas on ANN how could you go wrong ;)

ms-07 Mar 6, 2006 04:25 PM

I usually give every show a chance, so i'll be watching any that get subbed (aside from Tsubasa, AMG and Aria. never seen the 1st seasons yet).

but, i'll be following School Rumble season 2 for sure, looking forward to it since the manga scanlations are barely ahead of the season 1 anime. also interested in Kiba, Soul Link, and Air Gear (a lot of people seem to love the manga). I'm already watching Shinigami No Ballad, and the 1st episode was pretty damn good.

Lee-chan Mar 6, 2006 04:37 PM

I've fallen off of downloading anime lately, so the only thing I'm going to try to catch FOR SURE is Disgaea, of course. I might check into the new dot-hack, the Fist of the North Star Movie, and maybe the xxxHOLIC adaption.

Or maybe I'll just give in and watch some Naruto fillers.

Yuna Mar 9, 2006 10:45 AM

Well, I just watched Tsubasa Chronicle, so season 2 is a must see.

I've been waiting a lot fro Disgaea, the game is great and my favorite character will be on the anime, Etna, so I'll defenitly watch this.

I'll watch xXxHolic mostly because I've been a fan of CLAMP for a long time, so why not see it.
Of course I'll watch a lot of others but these are the ones I can say now.

ragnarokesper Mar 10, 2006 03:14 AM

Disgaea!

Just Disgaea. Loved the game, and I'm sure hilarity will ensure. I mean, half the game had anime-like cutscenes.

I enjoyed Xenosaga when that turned into an anime, so I'm sure Disgaea can't be that bad.

Shenlon Mar 10, 2006 10:32 AM

I just watched school rumble a few weeks ago and I loved the series so I'm waiting for School Rumble 2 to be released, I just can't wait >_<
Also KIBA looks a bit interesting as well as black lagoon. And since black cat is coming closely to an end I need to get something else to watch soon.
I never really played disgaea but if the anime gets alot of reccomendations I may give it a shot.

iamamoogle Mar 13, 2006 02:04 AM

This season seems quite promising if you ask me... this won't make the other bandwith users in my household happy though...

I'm looking forward to the continuation of...

Ah! My Goddess
Aria
Tsubasa Chronicle

and the beginning of

.hack//ROOTS
Makai Senki Disgaea
Nana
XxXHOLiC

and this

The premise reminded me of the manga Lagoon Engine: Einsatz... where the main female character must become a man to become the king of her country... but this series doesn't look nearly as good...

Conan-the-3rd Mar 13, 2006 02:42 AM

If Tsubassa Cronicle pt 2 becomes .hack//CLAMP again, so help me, I'll take Bee Train appart myself.

Sirmackerel Mar 26, 2006 05:16 PM

I'll give Disgaea a shot, but I'm not expecting much. Sure, the plot was good for a game, but it's a bit weak for an actual series. I'm hoping it proves me wrong.

Cobra Mar 26, 2006 06:36 PM

http://membres.lycos.fr/goukiavatars/ken2006.jpg

I'll continue watching Ergo Proxy (can't miss that) and Shin-Kyûseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken movie, made by the crew who did Samurai Shamploo, just curious how it'll look like. And moreover, the first part is about Raoh. ^^

Ok, I'm giving .hack//Clamp (Tsubassa Cronicle) three episodes, if they ruin Piffle world like they have done most of Tsubassa 1's I will just drop it.

Other shows in mind are Digimon Savers, and screw it, I'm going raw if WPP fail like they have been for the past year.

Digersa is also another one on the watch list (even if the only game I've played from NI is Phantom Brave)

Sin Ansem Mar 30, 2006 07:29 AM

I was cursing the fact that Momo is not in fact, about Momo from Bleach. :(

chato Mar 30, 2006 09:01 AM

Obviously.. things will go back to normal with Naruto in 2-3 more weeks. Gintama is gonna air next week so im checking it out. Another anime you all should see is Kyou no go no ni (funny anime).

Hyuga Jehuty Apr 1, 2006 02:16 PM

I'm going to try and watch School Rumble 2, Tsubasa 2, AMG 2, XXXholic, and Disgaea(though I haven't touched the game at all) as they come out. I'll just archive the rest.

d00n Apr 1, 2006 06:30 PM

The only real new thing I'm interested in is the third Zeta movie. The first two have been pretty good so far and I'm really enjoying the mix of old footage and new footage.

chato Apr 1, 2006 06:46 PM

the raw came out 2 months ago i think. i haven't seen it yet but im interested in the third. though if you go to the zeta gundam thread, you'll see that there's alot of different things going on in the third movie (reply in the other thread)

I guess School Rumble 2 will be added to the list .

Gintama
School Rumble
naruto - going back to the real deal
Black Cat
One Piece
Detective Conan

mostly jump stuff ;p

elwe Apr 1, 2006 06:50 PM

I'll definitely be watching the second season of Tsubasa, as the first season did a good job with catching my attention in the later episodes. Ergo Proxy also looks really interesting. I checked out a trailer, and I had no idea what they were saying, but it still managed to pique my curiosity.

Bigblah Apr 10, 2006 07:32 PM

So, Hashihime has put up short reviews of a mind-boggling 30 new shows, if anyone's interested.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has been one of the most pleasant surprises for me this season. Kyoto Animation never fails to impress.

HazelGuy Apr 11, 2006 04:49 AM

I just enjoyed the hell out of Air-Gear, it was a good release after watching so much serious anime.

I read that there was a Prince of Tennis OVA series being made, does anyone have any idea how far away it'd be? I'm assuming it will be as Initial D airing a couple of months apart, but if anyone knows how far off the first one is I'd appreciate it if you can let me know.

B4-Hunter Apr 11, 2006 05:34 AM

For now I'm off to buy bigger HDD cause soon there will be no free space due the huge wave of new Anime that was throw on board.

As for now I'm finishing watching Shinigami no Ballad (shame that only 6 episodes). Waiting for SubFan teams to translate Ergo Proxy episode 6. Looking on KIBA to see if it's worth my time and transfer =P. Can't wait for Tactical Road to see 3rd episode. Stuned with awesome Air Gear Anime (so you can see by my Ava & Sig). Interested in another episode of ZegaPain (it made me play Zone of the Enders again =P). Last thing I'm waiting for is Hellsing Ultimate OAV 2 =).

I think it's enough for some time =)

I read that there was a Prince of Tennis OVA series being made, does anyone have any idea how far away it'd be? I'm assuming it will be as Initial D airing a couple of months apart, but if anyone knows how far off the first one is I'd appreciate it if you can let me know.

The Prince of Tennis OVA is based on the national tournament from the manga. The first volume came out last month with the second scheduled for may 26th. From what I've heard there will be 7 DVD Volumes out, but I'm not too sure. Hope that helps.

So, what would you guys recommend from the new season? I haven't watched anything other than a few episodes of Ergo Proxy.

get yourself some black lagoon. One of the best this year, right up there with my top five ^_^
Also if you saw school rumble 1 then make sure to catch season 2.

I'm really enjoying Utawarerumono so far. Its sort of like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance + More Furry + Indian Style Clothing = Utawarerumono.

It seems as though it'd translate very well into a SRPG if they made a decent effort into it. Oh, and the opening is fantastic too. I downloaded the first one after I heard good things and immediately grabbed the next 4.

That is happening way too much this season.

This Fall, we can't forget the upcomming animes such as Death Note and Busou Renkin (Kenshin creator Noburo Watsuki)

Right now, Im still watching School Rumble 2, Kamisama Kazoku, Nana, Soul Link and a few others. I only wish i had more time to catch up but at least one anime isinteresting these days and that is SR2

Getting back to the Upcoming animes. Death Note only announced is air date for the fall. Busuo Renkin has one anime scan from shounen jump magazine. It looks really good. I assume the animation will look more better than that or at least the same as Kenshin when the animation came up with a great transformation in the Kyoto Arc.

Have you even read the manga? It's easily Watsuki's worst one to date. As far as I know, this is also the first time that a manga that was cancelled because of its low ratings gets an anime. I really wouldn't expect a lot out of this one.

Actually, Utawarerumono was originally a game. An SRPG h-game, that is.

Worst ? Then i should stay away from the manga and look at the anime then. Maybe the anime won't be cancelled. I'll give it a chance ;p

I'm thrilled to learn of Busuo Renkin as I stopped reading a year ago as I was waiting for more chapters to come out.

I'll be watching Black Lagoon (Great characters and fun), Jyu-Oh-Sei (Storyline, music, plot and characters get better each episode) and The Melancholy of (Eh, everybody knows the title and most people watch it so forget the rest. =p)

Not sure what I'll be watching since I just recently started on Utawarerumono and Haruhi Suzumiya, then there's Ouran Host Club, xxxHolic, Tsubasa to keep me busy. Death Note will definitely be on my list though.

Also, I agree with Enkidu that Busuo Renkin is one of Watsuki's worst work. I lost interest after reading vol 2 I think, so I think I'll won't be watching the anime.
