[s]E3[/s] HALO 4 FUCK YEAH RESTART AND CONTINUE THE FIGHT discussion thread.
Ok, I know its prE3 (pre-E3) time, but some of the teasers have been making rounds.
Here's some stuff that's been shown so far (with more info coming at E3 obviously)
Other cool announcements (at least from Konami) include HD remasters of Metal Gear Solid 2, 3 and Peacewalker on PS3 and 360 Silent Hill 2 & 3 HD for PS3. Also a Contra teaser (maybe a reboot of the series?). So far there has been some pretty interesting pre E3 stuff released. Next week will sure be interesting. whups, said 3DS instead of Peacewalker... :tpg: |

That Tomb Raider trailer was alright. Too far off yet. Give me some Deus Ex though.
That MGS pack will not get as much attention if they don't put MGS 1 in there somewhere. Just putting a straight port in there would be fine with me if they don't want to upgrade visuals. Don't you want to attract people who never played MGS1 konami? And wait no Silent Hill HD for 360? |
I'm fine with graphical upgrades (silent hill, mgs, ZoE) but lol I remember these games too well to even bother with those. I imagine they're great for those who haven't played them or barely remember what they're like and play them for nostalgia.
It is still is a trend I don't like though. Its like hollywood and their damn remakes. Good or bad. Fuck me though, Tomb Raider does look awesome. Is it a reboot? |
Might be for 360 too, but when I checked the IGN site, it had PS3 exclusive written... but an image of the game with a 360 box.. so I dunno.
Silent Hill Collection - PS3 - IGN |
-New Tomb Raider trailer was actually pretty awesome.
-If MGS 2 and 3 are the Substance/Subsistence versions I'm on board for buying that; otherwise I'll probably just rent it for Peace Walker. I still have those versions on PS2 and I wouldn't necessarily mind an excuse to play them again, but just having them in HD isn't enough for me personally to make up for the additions and fixes those versions made. -Kinda indifferent on ZoE and SH collections. I literally just played through ZoE 2 and it's fucking gorgeous, but I wasn't thrilled with some of the gameplay and the camera, and I don't know what they could really do with 2 to get me to play it again. Interested to see how it looks in HD for sure though, and I hope they make 3. Silent Hill 2 and 3 are great games, but I don't know that I need to go back to those unless they add something substantial, or maybe as a rental or something. To help out, here's some other stuff:

The trailer for Darksiders 2 is neat, but I'll be disappointed if Death is the only new Horseman to show up considering how the first game ended. Pestilence and Famine should be around somewhere. |
So are they talking voucher code for Silent Hill 1 and MGS 1 maybe on Xbox Live Arcade as straight ports?
Dagget, I played every FF except 11 and 14 and I thought the battle system was sub par for 13. Way too automatic and boring. Lets hope it opens up. Some characters were bad, but I did like some :p. Story was good until later on where it went kinda everywhere. In the end one of the worst FF's for sure. |
Seems like a lot of games are having a voucher to download a previous title. I know Alice Madness Returns will have a voucher for the first Alice to be downloaded. I just wish Twin Snakes was added as part of the MGS HD release.

Gametrailers has a lot of new trailers and teasers popping up pre-E3. Both of the Metro: Last Light teasers were great.
I am really looking forward to the new Tomb Raider, but more based on the Edge article I read a while back and not this teaser. In the article they said they're still looking for a voice actress for Lara and the one in the gameplay demo was a placeholder. I hope the on in the teaser is the same placeholder or they'll at least tell her not to overdo the accents so badly. For E3, I want Blizzard to announce Starcraft: Ghost in back on that. For PC/PS3/360. Developed by the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory team. Oh and for Hitman 5 to be a worthy sequel to Blood Money, to be an amazing game for fans of the previous games, as opposed a game for people who don't want to play Hitman games. |

Halo 4...why? 3 had a good ending, just leave it at that.

Also: ZoE/ZoE2 HD? FUCK CENTURY |
This kinect kiddie shit is at least as embarassing as wii showing their first games. It'll be a good year to laugh at 360 owners.
mfw sesame street kinect http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...f?t=1299973145 |
You mean 360 owners with Kinect. That shit looks so forced.
At least its being used, for other stuff, to great effect |
Oh wait, the dawn of a new trilogy on XBox 360. That means not just Halo 4, but they just inadvertently confirmed Halo 5 and Halo 6.
|
New Halo? We might need to change the GFF banner one more time.
No joke, I'm legit excited about Dance Central 2. I enjoyed the first one immensely. |
I liked the one-hour trailer for that first-person shooter.
|
This looks pretty damn interesting. |

DO WANT. |

My FUCKING GOD Dagget. That shit in 720p is insanne. God bless Bioware. Best of show so far. Batman Arkham City right there too. That is going to be great.
By the way that Halo Remake looked horrible. |
Vita pricing something something, but FUCK ALL THAT
Assassin's Creed Revelations CG Trailer and live demo:
I would fucking let Skills take a goddamn dump on my chest to have this game right now. |

Old Republic is bullshit. "Here's a bunch of things that are Star Wars but aren't from the movie timeline but there's an Empire and Destroyer Droids and a Mandalorian and a bunch of other stuff."
Why fucking bother at this point? How is it at all Star Wars? The proper nouns? Also no gameplay footage still? lol |

The biggest dissapointment about Old Republic is that it's a MMORPG. Watching those trailers made me mourn even more the lack of a proper KOTOR 3 or even a remake of the first two with a proper ending for 2. I might even break my long running no MMORPG's rule for this it looks that good, although I'd want to know if you can have fun with it without having to interact with other people before I committed. |
Just watched some of the info on Wii U. I'm actually pretty impressed. I'll be wary of the first batch of games, but i'm hoping that once developers are more comfortable with the tablet controller and don't feel like they have to use every single feature, we'll start seeing some really cool ideas come to life. Backwards compatibility is something i wholeheartedly support, so i'm excited to see that Nintendo is continuing to embrace that.
Also, Smash Bros. for both 3DS and Wii U? With some sort of linking a possiblity? yes, please. |
I like how Nintendo's basically saying "sorry for making nothing but party games for five years"
Wii U: When Grandma doesn't want to play Mario Kart at 1 in the morning Also, we all know Luigi's Mansion 2 is the best announcement of today. Why lie. |
I love how one of the features of the Wii U is that you can play games on the controller "In case someone else wants to use the tv". How many households in the target market for another version of the Wii genuinely only have one tv? We have two sat right next to each other in the front room specifically so we can play games and watch tv at the same time. Also, I see one of the launch titles is called Ghost Recon Online. Does this mean they're doing away with the retarded friend code system?
|
Quote:
As for friend codes, some Wii games have already done away with them. Monster Hunter Tri uses lobbies like a normal online game would instead of friend codes, and there may be others. |
I think the idea was to bring people together. I know that in my house, all of the console gaming is relegated to the basement so that the TV can be the TV. This option makes it more feasible for the Wii U to be set up in the main living room of the house, which is most likely what Nintendo is after. Maybe i can't convince my mom to set up my game system in the living room, but throw in the fact that the game can come off the TV at any time and i can play in the same room as her? I think for a lot of families this will feel like an excellent compromise.
I'm not to worried about online play just yet, since my school blocks all online games anyway. In a couple of years, though, who knows. All i know is that if the Canadian ISPs get away with usage-based billing, it will hurt a lot of companies. Online gaming, Netflix, cloud computing, all of it. I'm really confused as to why these companies aren't fighting harder against it, but. [/rant] |

You all need to see this to believe it...a board game collaboration by Square Enix and Nintendo featuring characters from the Mario Universe and the Dragon Quest Universe. They call it Fortune Street.
Fortune Street Video Game, E3 2011: Debut Trailer HD | Video Clip | Game Trailers & Videos | GameTrailers.com So did they just finally give up on Mario Party? |
Well damn. Seems interesting. Now I want a Nintendo/Square RPG crossover.
|
Enix has been doing a series called Itadaki Street for a long time. Several, if not most of the games in the series are Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy crossover board games, so branching out into DQ and Mario isn't that weird. I'm just surprised they're finally bringing one of them over to the US.
|
the NOU I mean Wii U console hands on. Also I heard it is only 1 of those Wii Upads per system and no option to buy a second while the rest of the controls have to be with the Wiimotes? |

There seems to be a lack of Gamecube controller ports.

Forza 4 looks amazing, shitting all over the genre. Can't wait for it, it looks beautiful and they seem to have fixed lots of issues including the constant loading.

Potentially good for some 3 on 1 style Mario Party mini games though. |
