What I remember most is the bitching about the plasma sword, but that's kinda cheating since the bitching is ongoing.

Pssh, Halo 2 was the best of the series, given that people have only bought the ones since 2 for multiplayer and it had the best multiplayer of the franchise. Pistols, no shields King of the Hill in Midships is still the most fun I've had in an FPS.

I believe Halo 2 was Spraylo, on account of the smgs and auto-aim feature.

I remember wishing I had an xbox but ended up playing at my friends house anyway. Ah, 10th grade.

My original Xbox Live account was long expired by the time Spraylo 2 came out so I never played it online. Come to think of it, I kind of want to play it online now. Does anyone still have it and want to play? I'll organize play dates and shit.

(Seriously though, I'd like to wail out a few matches online if anyone's interested.)

I remember my friend (a Halo 2 fan) arguing with me because I thought Halo 2 was far inferior to the first one, and just in general was a retread. He went on and on about how wildly different Halo 2 was to Halo 1 (and how dual-wielding being the biggest FPS innovation in years), and then had the nerve to give Perfect Dark shit for being so similar to Goldeneye (both of which had dual-wielding).

So then we played 4-player Perfect Dark and I wailed on him with my trusty CMP150 and proxy mines. It was far more fulfilling than playing Halo 2 ever was.

I remember working at Target at the time and in the Toys department which is right next to the Electronics department. The kiosk kept playing the Halo theme over and over again.


I gots my copy the second it was available to buy. :D

Heck, Rise of the Triad had dual-wielding back in 1994.

The first game also doesn't get enough credit for being freaking awesome videogaming.

I still don't know why the hell they insisted on making the Warthog destructible. The most fun I had in that game was the endless hours spent trying to replicate all those Warthog Jump videos with my friends.

Making the Warthog destructible was like making Greedo shoot first in A New Hope.

I played them Halos, I thought they were all nice. They weren't the most amazing things ever, but what video game is? What with them all being miserable piles of dumbed down and rehashes. Steals mens souls, money, etc.

It'd be like if someone were to make a thread about Goldeneye and I were to run in flapping my gums about it being overrated or jews or something else. And also compared it to <insert name of other shooter here> There is no point.

Then why make the joke thread if your lack-of-a-punchline entry is somehow bulletproof to criticism?

However, you WOULD be right. Goldeneye was the previous gaming generation's Halo, though for different reasons.
