It is the test of the Right brain with the Left brain, and it’s time to concentrate, not on the lady, but her movement, that’s gonna decide the rest. If you see her moving clockwise, then you’re using the creative side of your brain, that is the Right. Whereas, if you see her move anti-clockwise, then you’re using the logical part of your brain, that is the Left.

Which way are you, or rather, how accurate do you think this test is?

I first looked at it and saw her moving clockwise. Then I thought about making her look like she was going anti-clockwise and she started going that way. Now I'm trying to conciously see her going clockwise again and I can't do it (Because I'm trying to force it, using the analytical part of my brain I guess).

I tried my darnedest best to see her going counter-clockwise, but I can't manage it :(

She goes much more naturally counter clockwise for me but I can force it the other way with a couple of seconds concentrating. It appears doing so back and forth 6 or 7 times in a row can give you a bit of a headache though.

That's exactly what I was about to say. I can't get her to go clockwise again.

Hasn't this been dis-proven as a personality-indicator and thought to be more along the lines of an ordinary optical illusion like the Rubin vase? The way you see her doesn't really chalk up shit other than the one way your brain decides to interpret what it's seeing at the moment. I can "make it" go either way, no big deal.

Also I swear this is like the fifth or sixth time I've seen this posted here.

You can hold a gun to my head and I still won't be able to make her go anti clockwise. I guess my logic gave up a long time ago.

Identical results. It was kinda fun to see my brain switch interpretations by sheer force of will, but I can't switch back.

Hm, for me she seen to be spinning clock wise, generally. Although in the past I have try to vision her spinning counter clock-wise too. I think there are some drawings that details the type of topography that follows it, although I have misplaced it.

Just a few extra seconds of concentration...

I find that you can change it in a couple of seconds if you scroll up so that you can only see her head, then keep it out of your direct field of vision and decide which way she goes. The leg becomes a really distracting factor.

That's what I was looking for too think I found it cause I got her to spin anit clockwise.

Looking alternatively at the heel of her straight leg and its reflection is what makes her switch directions for me. Can't quite explain why though.

Going all walleyed and then thinking the direction really hard is what does it for me. The mechanics of how the hell that works are beyond me.

I look at the heel to change directions as well.

At first glance, I see clockwise. But then after a few seconds, she's going counter clockwise.

Definitely seen this before, but it's always fun to see if you approach it differently.

There is absolutely no information regarding one's mind that can be gleaned from this optical illusion, aside from perhaps the flexibility of your spatial perception. The whole left-brain right-brain tagline that usually accompanies this image is nonsense.

I find a really effective method of rapidly changing the direction I perceive the woman to be turning is by looking at the shadow of her foot.

I cannot for the life of me see her moving counterclockwise. She's clearly moving clockwise, all you people are just crazy. :|

That's really cool. It's going slow enough you can make her change before she goes in a full circle. I had the leg bouncing back after the first quarter turn.

Interesting. It's a bit more difficult to switch direction at that speed, for me.

For me it's when the outstretched leg comes back toward center, as it vanishes into the silhouette you can decide whether it's in front or behind, and that alters your perception accordingly.

It isn't nearly that conscious of a thing for me, I just concentrate on seeing it the other way and then after a turn or two it changes.

Eh, I was wrong anyhow. I think I'm just seeing the outstretched leg as always going behind. The result is when it hits either the left or the right extreme, I can picture it going back behind the leg instead of going forward. Point is, I think that's the decision point in either case, the slower one just makes it more possible.

Started out clockwise, and fell into an easy switch to counter-clockwise, which ended me stuck for a while. It seems like a pretty malleable piece of perception though, as after training myself to switch with the shadow, I could pretty reliably get it to flip at each of the most elongated points. It may say more about your brain (if anything) in how you are able to convince it to flip the image.

Using the slow one, I can with difficulty do what Radez was describing and flip it at the center, although that makes the back of my brain hurt. Particularly trying to do 1/4 turns.

Am I odd, since with direct sight I picture clockwise, but I produce counter-clockwise with peripheral vision?

Yes, I don't think it really tells you whether you're right or left wired. Just a fun optical illusion.

I think packrat nails it pretty well. Look at the shadows of her feet. You will notice it will change direction once it hits the extreme left or extreme right, i.e rotate 180 degrees.
So to control the direction, once you make her rotate in the direction you want, stare anywhere else but the lower portion, and it will stay

I find it easier to switch with the slow one, because the points where you can decide which is front and which is back are easier to recognize due to slow speed.

As with the fast one it kinda flip back and forth unconsciously (randomly) due to my brain thinking it's too fast to recognize. Interesting.

As with Ozma, I managed to make her go counter-clockwise when looking through peripheral vision. However, once I use my main vision, she starts going clockwise again.

Yes. You can use your peripheral vision to alter her direction. But you must only look back only after she crossed the 180degree mark


+Left - +Right

With - being the center of rotation, + being the furthest point of horizontal rotation,

if she is rotating clockwise, switch to peripheral, wait til she rotates to +left, you will notice she changes direction.
So look back 1 sec later, and voila, the direction is changed.

so in short the +left or +right point is the point where she changes direction

I could only get it by using the method Radez mentioned. I spent too much time looking at her face and wondering how in lordyfuck that was ever meant to appear to change direction.

i can see both ways. problem is that i know the trick... it's quite difficult to tell which side i am wired to.
natural lefty, did quite a few things with my right. (not ambidexterous though :'( )
i knwo some people actually just see her not turning but just going "back and forth on one side"

Switches sides for me all the time.
Although it moves clockwise more often than not.

The fastest way (for me) to make her switch directions is to "strobe" the picture, by opening and closing your eyes rapidly.

I see her do a full rotation or so, then she switches, then just does 180's for a bit, then goes for a few rotations, and then the 180's again.

My poor brain. ;-;

Fans are another way to test your brain like this. Depending on how you see it, it rotates in either direction based on perception.

went anticlockwise first (which made me mad) started scrolling and she change direction... so ii dunno

Focusing on her legs she seems to be going clockwise, focusing on her head she seems to be going counter-clockwise, focusing on her boobs she /drool......

Well Oddly, At first it was counter clockwise... Then I was easily able to turn it to clockwise but had a hard time putting it back. This has been mentioned. Though i was able to do it half clockwise and half counter every rotation at one point. Think that's my brain telling me to stop trying.

For me it was clock-wise at first, and after I stared at it and thought about it, it started going the other way. But had a bit of trouble making it go back.

Interesting. This is one of those things that probably entertains a lot of people for no apparent reason.

I saw her only moving clockwise. I never seen her move counter clockwise. So, that means i used my creative side of the brain most of the time? LOL! Is that for real? So, it means I'm a creative person but poor in thinking logically. LOL!:D
