The next great forum
 

The sock forum has been a surprising source of entertainment and drama, but it seems to have run its course. Crash and the rest of us were discussing this on the radio show last night, and he mentioned that it would be fun to have a new "random" forum every month or so, just to liven things up. The question is, what seemingly mundane topics would make a good subject? Throw up some ideas here.

Some ideas:

-Paper
-Microwaves/appliances
-Balloons
-Cheese

A vote for cheese is a vote for victory.

Paper's actually my favorite, since there are so many directions you can go. Cheese is semi-covered by the Kitchen.

But if you're looking for another forum to mock the Gentry brothers, cheese would be the way to go.

One of my friends specialized in paper science within chemical engineering. It is not as entertaining as it sounds.

This is generally my modus operandi, so anything that assists in that is cool by me.

If you're serious and I'm not just missing a joke, I'd wager that most people don't have garbage day. Unless you have a house in the city limits, you probably put your garbage in a dumpster or take it to the dump.

I think a forum about spider bites would be great.

Think spiders in general, not just bites would be pretty interesting, although bites would be a nice subtopic, as we could show wonderful pictures like:

I would personally enjoy a forum on disgruntled sheep.

Or disgruntled animals in general, if disgruntled sheep is a bit too specific and/or abstract.

Do you live on a farm or something? Everyone has a garbage day.

Not unless you live within the city limits of a town with garbage pickup. Granted, I grew up in a rural area (not a farm), but much of the US is like that. Where I live now has garbage day, I guess, but I live in an apartment complex. You just throw your stuff in the dumpster outside whenever your can gets full.

Unless you live in a pretty rural area you ought to have garbage pickup. I grew up in suburbia that was pretty close to rural (few of my friends lived on farms) and we all had garbage pickups.

Also, not all garbage pickup is done by municipalities. I know in my area there were a number of different companies you could choose from (which meant different houses on my street had different garbage days!).

See, I knew Garbage Day was ripe for conversation!

New forum every month? Sounds cumbersome. Here's an idea: Bring back the Chillout Lounge.

We already have it. It's called the Testing Forum.

Flashy loops sound like a fun idea

We've no need for a forum in which to post looped flashes.

We already have AcerBandit, Tails and Skills, who keep us in fresh supply of these things.

A forum would be redundant.

I am in favor of a forum devoted to various theories and discussions regarding the true location of the 'hood'.

This made me laugh.

I vote for a forum about quarters. Of course there would discussions about degenerate coinery such as dimes and half-dollars, but this is to be expected.

Coinage isn't a bad idea. I can see lots of side threads relating to that.

Like: "Oddest place you've stuck a quarter."

What about HATS? Last time I heard, hats are cool. They wear it sideways, reverse, there's hats made of hair, or wiggers wearing hats, and many more!
