Games that "ABSOLUTELY" deserve a remake or sequel.
If its one thing that I've noticed about gaming in the last two years is that we are seeing a lot of classic titles being remade for the current generation of consoles or after being on the back burner for so long we have seen sequels for games that we've always wanted.
Especially in 2009, we have seen a brand new Bionic Commando game. Also Klonoa made its way to the Wii even though its a remake of the original game. Despite that these games were always successful before they came into this current generation of games, it reminded me of how there are so many great games from 5-10-15-20 years ago that deserve a shot at this current generation of gaming. I was really excited, when Contra 4 came out, I couldn't even get a copy because any copies of the game were already gone by the time I got back to Newfoundland. I will eventually pick up this game, but it looks I'll have to go to amazon or ebay to get it. To the GFF community what do you feel are some that really deserve a remake or a sequel for this current generation of consoles and by all means explain why. I have three. BLAST CORPS http://xmbuzz.files.wordpress.com/20...ng?w=256&h=180 The funny thing about this game, is that this game is completely out of the norm of the type of games I usually play. I had rented this on the off chance that it was good. Boy was it ever an awesome game. Even though Microsoft owns Rare at the moment, I would specifically buy an XBOX 360 if I knew they were ever going to do a sequel for BLAST CORPS. Imagine Blast Corps on a current console. They could have larger cities, completely destructible environments, more vehicles, more demolitions robots, insane missions, co-op play, online play, the possibilities are endless. The Legend of Dragoon http://omegaasylum.com/images/the%20l.jpg The reason I picked this game is not based upon the fact that its a great game, more than anything else from my point of view it is an above average rpg at best, but if its one thing I really enjoyed about this game is the battle system. I love the addition time based battle system for this game, and even though I haven't played that many rpg's for a wide array of consoles the only thing I've come to close to a battle system to this is the Judgment Ring battle system from Shadow Hearts. The Unfortunate thing about Shadow Hearts is the only Shadow Hearts game I have played is From the New World. To most people this is probably the weakest of the series, and despite being the weakest of the series I still enjoyed the game. I just liked a lot of gameplay for The Legend of Dragoon, the story wasn't overly great but I think they should take a lot of the mechanics that made this game great and they could probably do a lot more to make these battle mechanics even better and do a sequel or probably put them to another rpg. Rival Schools/Project Justice http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...1L._AA280_.jpg http://images.swaptree.com/images/vg/10/1048410.jpg Come on Capcom, you have an awesome fighting series. Why doesn't this series have another game. I didn't think that you could do anything to improve from the original Rival Schools. You proved me wrong, you made Project Justice for the Dreamcast making it an even more awesome game, with triple team attack instead of just team attacks, and wide array of awesome characters. This is one fighting game, you should not give up on. It is an awesome title, and deserves to have a sequel with more characters, online play and just an overall better experience because this is one of the very few Capcom fighting games that has a unique and quirky fun factor to it. |
I second the Rival Schools/Project Justice thing. LoD can fuck off forever. The game I most want to see remade is Persona 2. Combine both parts into one game, release it on the PSP, update the graphics a bit, throw in some Atlus swag, and I'm golden. It's likely to happen now that they're porting the Persona to the system.
|
How about a new Soul Blazer series game? Or Terranigma released in English on an NTSC system.
Or the RIAA/EMI not being a bunch of asses and allowing Earthbound to be rereleased in America without being all HOLY FUCK SAMPLES IN OUR MUSIC CAN'T HAVE THAT. Which will lead to Mother 1+2+3 DS. A boy can dream, can't he? |
Lost Odyssey had a simplified "ring" system that allowed for single hits to be crits depending on how well you timed it. It didn't have combos, but it's still a pretty enjoyable system and I saw it as an homage to Dragoon.
On topic, Star Tropics is the game that usually comes to mind. It's been a while since a zelda-type game has come out that wasn't zelda, and I think this franchise still has a lot of potential with a young crowd. Up until recently, I would have said Aliens vs Predator, but it looks like they're bringing that one back from the grave, so grins all around. The only other game I can think of at the moment is Dungeon Keeper. Where other RTS games are all about the offense, Dungeon Keeper had a malicious streak to it that allowed you to set devious traps for interlopers and then just sit back and laugh maniacally while steepling your fingers. The dark humor mixed in with the give and take of exploration versus defense was satisfying in a way few other RTS games have come close for me. token FF7 mention goes here |
Blaster Master. Even just a sprite overhaul or something would be great.
I think if they tried a sequel it would suck though. Grimdark, no catchy music, bloom and blur, etc. |
Or an update for Parasite Eve. I'd love to see that in next-gen graphics with an updated or remixed soundtrack. |

Also, Lufia. Hell yes, Lufia. :D |
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/4893/art01ej7.jpg
I mean come on! You got to fly around a bunch of floating islands in your awesome ship, make discoveries, explore impressive dungeons, recruit crew members to work on your ship, own your own base, and fight in epic ship battles. This game was so amazing and Sega need to get the development team responsible to create a new sequel on one of the 3 platforms. I think the Wii would be perfect for it, actually. The 3 main characters had cameos in Valkyria Chronicles and some of the staff responsible for Skies worked on that project too. Come on, Sega! Make it happen! |
Really? There were cameos of Vyse and all of them? Damn, I really need to get a PS3.
|
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y57...Klonoa2Box.jpg
They're on the right track with the Door to Phantomile remake---a Klonoa 3 would be absolutely fantastic. With all the things consoles can do nowadays, with the varying interfaces and means by which to control what's happening on screen, there are so many things that a developer could do with the Klonoa formula. I wouldn't want them to change it too drastically, but it provides a great foundation to create a really fun platformer game for one of the current consoles (hell, even the DS could do wonders with it). http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y57...5263_front.jpg There is not a single person on this world who wouldn't want another JSR game, and consequently, another new soundtrack. The 360's just kinda sitting there waiting for Sega to create a Jet Set Radio Infinity or something (lame game name idea is not a reflection of this idea as a whole). This one would sell like hotcakes. And of course: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y57...denv_cover.jpg 'Sup Konami. Whenever you're ready. |
Now the guy above me is a smart individual. I almost forgot Jet Set Radio Future.
And I purposely left out Klonoa. I know most of you people were expecting me to post that one. Fooled you, eh? |
Another proper Suikoden game is a must of course and a PAL release of S3 wouldn't hurt (Or an American PSP release if they must, at least I could import it then).
I don't really see the point of straight re-makes of rpgs, unless they beef the fuck out of the graphics and sound. I mean, if I like an old game, I'll play the old game, I don't need it on a different platform to enjoy it again. I'd like to see a modern remake of Quarantine, the PC game where you were a taxi driver only with guns and rockets and shit attached to your car. Game was fucking awesome. I'd also like to see a sequel to Flashback, probably in glorious 3d with fuck off massive environments and shit like that. And a proper sequel to Elite is the most overdue thing ever, ever, ever, ever although the fact that David Braben and Ian Bell aren't on speaking terms any more would make that a bit unlikely though, sadly. I know the trading was taken up by Eve Online and there have been things like Privateer but it'd be awesome to have a first-person space flight sim that had the scope of the original Elite but with planets round the systems and cities on the planets and so forth. It's have to be an online game using the direct streaming thing Dave Perry keeps banging on about because you'd never fit all that information on a disk but if it was released then I'd probably never leave the house again. |
I dont think I can shout this from the rooftops enough:
FINAL FANTASY TACTICS!!!!!!! Seriously it needs the graphics upgrade etc and of course "a proper sequel", the intricate story and mature feel to the game was soo incredible and the "advanced" offshoots are really nothing to do with this game I swear. Other than that of course lets have an FF7 graphic remake but everyone knows that. |
I'm still waiting on Xenogears parts I, II, III, IV and VI.
Terranigma and Illusion of Gaia redrawn in gorgeous 1080p would be nice, too, provided they DIDN'T FUCK WITH ANYTHING ELSE. |
Well, they can't fuck up IoG TOO bad, since there's already an optional dungeon/special boss.
Except it's not completely soul crushingly difficult. |
You just reminded me how much I want a new JSRF game. Holy crap. And a Skies of Arcadia remake would be great since I never got my hands on the original.
http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0...ront_large.jpg Dark Cloud 3, anyone? The series had a shitty start, but Dark Cloud 2 was amazing, so I'm sure they could make 3 even better. Make it happen. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...2nd_runner.jpg Kojima, I'll have your balls if I don't get ZOE3 on my PS3 soon. There's no reason why it shouldn't exist. |
ZOE3 will star Raiden on the Wii (comes with wearable plastic robo dong that you attach Wii Motion Plus to FOR REAL ROBOT 3D ACTION) and will be 5 hours of cut scenes and 1 hour of gameplay. It will also be a party game.
|
I would pretty much agree with the choices in the first post as well as rival schools and ZOE3. I don't care if ZOE3 is full of cutscenes, I still want my high flying, fast paced robot action. There aren't enough jet boosting crotch shot robots nowadays.
I would also say I want a sequel to Legend of Legaia but they ruined it with Legaia 2. Oh and FFXIII, how great would that be >_> |
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4.../actraiser.jpg
ActRaiser is such an awesome action/simulation game. I think an update could expand the simulation aspect a bit more to make it deeper and the action portions would be in 3D probably something similar in gameplay to Devil May Cry or God of War. Make it happen SquareEnix! I know how much you guys love rereleases and remakes! Please? http://www.vortexgames.info/images/d...over-front.jpg Demon's Crest. I seriously love that game. The opening is pretty damn cool, just immediately throwing you into the fray and have to learn the controls on the spot. At the time the game seemed like a mix of Castlevania IV and Metroid, which is a good combination and one that Castlevania ran with. For the remake I'd love a bit more exploration with some more RPG elements and I'm sure the gameplay will be similar to Devil May Cry/God of War again. Which is not a bad couple of games to emulate. |
Refering to a picture without naming the game tends to alienate people who browse with images turned off.
It also tends to make you look like an idiot when the image link is broken. Just saying. |
I agree wholeheartedly on the Jet Set Radio thing, but personally I think it might benefit from some Wii waggle action. Take the fast paced action of JSRF and bring back the gesture-based tagging of the first one and you could have gold if implemented correctly.
|
I'll probably get smacked for this, but I'd like to see a Mega Man Legends 3. I enjoyed the first one and while the 2nd one wasn't as good, I still had fun with that. However, people would probably bitch about it getting a sequel and not a "more-deserving" Capcom game series.
Chrono Trigger needs a remake or sequel, not a port with added content. The remake should give you the option to listen to the original soundtrack or switch to the new remixed music. Update the graphics, keep the dialogue the same from the SNES and PS1 versions, and you don't necessarily have to add voices in there. The sequel should involve a new adventure with Crono and friends, not an entirely different cast. Also, I'm not sure if this would count but I'm still waiting on a new Starfox. |
Yes, supersonic, yes. Megaman Legends needs a third installment. The second game was kinda subpar in that the town environments were a bit lacking. I will say that the digs were more entertaining and exciting than in MML, but I couldn't get over the fact that Megaman was voiced by Susan Roman.
I never finished Dark Cloud 2 and I hate myself for it, but I would gladly run laps if a Dark Cloud 3 was ever announced. Like Ultima said, Dark Cloud wasn't a very good game, but it wasn't bad either. It just didn't have all the extras that 2 did. Plus, 2's style was pleasing. Regarding ZOE3, what Shenlon said. I wish they had JSRF in the Marketplace so that I could play without having to drag out the old brick of an xbox and mucking about through its menus. A sequel to JSRF would make my day, but, at most, I only see a LIVE Arcade sequel/version to be the likeliest releasing. |

Shenmue. End of thread  It cost a fuckton to make, and it was pretty well-received in Japan. However, it did a face-plant in the states. Its Dreamcast dub was horrendous, but I got Shenmue 2's UK release on DC (has JP voices which are actually tolerable).
Shemue 2 needs a sequel. Seriously :( It has Yakuza as its spiritual successor, but it just doesn't feel the same. Plus, in the way of Shenmue, Yakuza is face-planting in the states. I doubt we'll get #3... :( And the PS3 fucking NEEDS money-grabbing titles. The third probably has a recap like the second game did (in order to help folks catch up). God damn, I want to play that. But that's another topic  |
I had great fun playing this back in the day, and would love to see how a next-gen re-interpretation would pan out. The simple pogo-stick mechanic may not translate well to modern audiences, but still, it made for hours of entertainment :D
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...sNESCover1.jpg This game supposedly had a lot of material planned for the SNES CD attachment, which fell through. It would be nice to see a remake of this game, now that space is no longer a limiting factor. Great story initially, although it bogs down into a loooong fetch quest at the middle of the game. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...f_Mana_Box.jpg |

Planescape: Torment. The ending is wide-open, the property is available, and the acclaim is there. It would even be nice to see a new version for better resolution monitors; the sprites were big and detailed enough that it would still look pretty dang good despite being 10 years old.
Radiata Stories. I'm in the minority here, but I thought this was funny as hell and extremely original to boot. The ending(s) stank, though; something to consider. Crystalis (from the NES). I'm shocked--SHOCKED--that no one has unearthed this and dusted it off yet. |
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...drag_front.jpg
I know I sound like a broken record, but... get your ass to work, Capcom. |
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...dRashCover.jpg
If anything needs to be remade, it's Road Rash. When I played Pure and fucked somebody up by accidentally landing on top of them after a jump, I instantly thought of how awesome a current-gen Road Rash update would be. Also this. http://3dotoday.classicgaming.gamesp...04/escboxf.jpg Escape from Monster Manor creeped me the fuck out when I was a kid. Sometimes you'd turn a corner and come up against as many as 5 of these guys at a time. The blue ones took two hits to bring down, and ammo was extremely scarce. http://www.retrobits.com.br/site/wp-...nstermanor.jpg There were also these twitchy disembodied heads that would float around and ruin your shit because the controls made it so hard to aim at such small targets. I was never able to finish the game, but it seems to be available on emulators, judging from this pic I just found. May have to track it down. |

Some people may scoff since this game is, itself, a sequel, though I consider it more of a reboot. The point is that TM:B was a fantastic game on a single-player basis, but tragically peaked before it could realize its fullest potential in multiplayer. At the time of TM:B's release, online console multiplayer was experiencing its pioneer days. True, you could play this game online, but it lagged like mad. It simply wasn't worth the effort. Fast forward nearly a decade. With most major consoles successfully promoting online experiences (Get with the program Wii) the time to revisit the Twisted Metal franchise is now. Playing against the AI is fine but I've always felt the game worked best in human-to-human interaction. This was available but demanded a split screen. Now it is no longer necessary. This is the kind of fast-paced, action intensive game that could easily flourish amidst opportunities for trash-talking over Skype. Perhaps some options for vehicle customization and some exclusive head-to-head levels not found in the single player mode would improve the experience. It just seems like a lot of fun is being missed out upon because developers seem to think the series is done. |

I don't think I'll ever get tired of saying this: Grim Fandango is the greatest game ever made. It was a story that was both ahead of its time and rooted in its mythology. It also has one of the wittiest characters in gaming history, quite possibly the greatest soundtrack ever composed for a video game and the kind of humor and spunk that only Tim Schafer could provide. It also needs to be remade with updated graphics and its vast grim landscapes. You know, the way it was intended. BADLY. |
Honestly part of the charm is its graphics. I think if you remade it with updated graphics it would lose some charm.
|
Agreeing like crazy for a Twisted Metal: Black 2. Even though it'd most likely be on the ps3 only.
How about this mother fucker: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...ev2/psiops.png This game did the force better than The Force Unleashed could ever hope to have accomplished, and was on top of that, a fairly decent third person shooter. More important is the fact that guns had absolutely no real bearing on things. Not only could you lift, throw, burn, mind control, crush, and otherwise utterly destroy all of your enemies without them, but it was far more satisfying. Too bad Midway is going under. Not only that but I heard they got sued over this game for some sort of idea theft. Still, I'd like to see the team behind it make something with at least a similar concept. I can't really think of a game besides this one that has done mind powers like telenkinesis as competently or successfully. |
If they were going to attack a Planescape sequel, I think I'd actually prefer a new game in the same setting. While the Nameless One does have a ride off into the sunset resolution, I think that the progress you make in uncovering his past would hamstring a new plot. Better to find a new, interesting, planar being and write a game about them, while using some of the characters from the other game.
http://www.forsako.com/x-com_logo.jpg X-COM is easily one of the best strategy RPGs that was ever put out. Unfortunately, the second attempt was just a graphics swap with a forgettable basis, while the third was basically a mess that tried too much and ended up half finished. Its been over a decade, and I would love to see a reboot of the series with actual turn based combat, a global (possibly multi-planet) focus, and a reasonable set of new features. Also: Spoiler:

Which one is better I wonder...? |
Mutant League Hockey.
That game was just pure awesomeness on the Sega Genesis. There was another, Mutant League Football, but it wasn't as fun to me as hockey. Somehow though, the game series never materialized past those two games. I think having a remake of MLH would be awesome, especially with online play. Perhaps as added content, they could make a four-way Mutant League Hockey Game where North, South, East, and West all have hockey nets. They could even have different modes. The usual 'most points in the game' would be one, but another could be 'pure elimination' where the winning team is that which survives. |

I couldn't think of any games to fit this thread because I wasn't as avid a gamer back in the day than I am now (meaning I played all of the popular ones, but none of the more obscure ones). Then I read Zergrinch's post, and it hit me.
We need some Seiken Densetsu 4 (also known as Secret of Mana series). Too bad I can't see Squaresoft (Or Square-Enix (Or Square-Enix-Eidos if you really want to be current)) doing anything outside of continuously milking the Final Fantasy VII franchise for eternity, or just the Final Fantasy franchise in general. Speaking of Squaresoft, there are a hell of a lot more series that they dropped along the way. Another one that comes to mind is Super Mario RPG. Vagrant Story would be another. |

I think its time Rare dusts off Kuros' armor and blade and allow us to step back into the land of Elrond again to face the evil Malkil once again. Dunno about you guys, but I enjoyed the Wizards and Warriors series. I never had a chance to play 3, since I couldn't find it anywhere like Funcoland (back in the day). Although I did like 1 better than 2. Just mindless slash and jump fun. I've often wondered what a next-gen "reimagination" or sequel would be like with this series. Breath of Fire needs a jump start, in a big way. Like perhaps a PSP/DS remake of the first game. I also agree that Dragon Quarter was a big pile of fail. |
Am I the only one that wants this epic story to be completed?

Quake 1.
Remake or sequel set in the same universe. - It needs to be dark. - It needs to be gritty, not shiny and plasticy. - It needs the Shambler. I'm thinking about putting an old machine together with the first Creative 3D Blaster to get vQuake running. If I remember correctly, I was pretty fond of that specific version. Oh, and Cannon Fodder. A Wii/DS port with updated sprites/sharp 3D should work well on either system. EDIT: I would also love the Baldur's Gate and/or Icewind Dale series to make a return. Top-down view preferably. I don't mind 3D, as long as it doesn't become like the Neverwinter games. For some reason those never really hooked me. Maybe it's because Black Isle Studios are dead. DEAD. :( Obsidian, do you hear my cries? |
Dragon Force and Guardian Heroes. Heck, I'd settle for a X-Box Live port.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Shining Force III remake even if only so we can get the entire story in english. |

I second the Final Fantasy Tactics nod and the Actraiser nod.
I would also like to see a Cadash sequel or remake, Heavy Unit as well, a remake of the early Armored Cores in the new engine would be mighty. Gauntlet needs to hurry up and come out again. A remake or sequel in the same vein as Desert Strike would be mighty. A WeaponLord remake would be great. I would like to see a Baldur's Gate III, a Freelancer II, a Titan Quest II, a NoX II...dammit, there are so many games of the past that we will never see show up again. Sigh... |

Apparently one of FASA's ex-cofounders - and a co-creator of the BattleTech franchise - decided a reboot is in order; feel free to check out this Q&A article.
I'll agree with Einhander, Rival Schools, and Jet Set/Grind Radio... and add Shadowrun. As I've said previously, with that much lore to play with, simply spitting out what was basically 'Counter-Strike with cybertech and magecraft' just doesn't pass muster. No, a proper current-gen Shadowrun would work along the lines of Mass Effect or Alpha Protocol. Oh, and since Zergrinch brought up X-COM, I'm going to have to toss Syndicate into the hat. Anyone else remember how much fun Syndicate Wars - Bullfrog's last great hurrah before EA bought them up - was? Lastly, Battlezone. No, not the arcade game - I'm talking about Activision's '98 (I think) first-person RTS which had as high concept 'Cold War gone hot in space'. |

My nickname explains it all.

No, it really doesn't. Make haste with the explanation or it's off to Banland with you.

I still play both Enemy Unknown and Terror From The Deep from time to time so a modern sequel, sticking to turn-based instead of the semi-real-time car crash that did come out a while back would be awesome. I'd also love to see another Cannon Fodder, that game was awesome. I was hoping it might get a release on XBLA after Sensible World of Soccer came out but no news yet. Likewise, I'd like to see a re-release of Gods on XBLA or something and the decent Amiga version rather than the crappy SNES version. In fact there are a ton of decent Amiga games I'd buy on XBLA, not having an Amiga anymore. Megalomania, The Chaos Engine, Magic Pockets for starters, James Pond too!
|
I think Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front deserves to be on this list as well. This particular entry in the franchise is distinguished not only by its perspective, but for the fact of its gameplay being similar to early Rainbow Six titles; some footage can be had here.
A hypothetical reboot might be best undertaken in cooperation with Ubisoft's R6 dev tem (if it's going to be 'Rainbow Six with mobile suits', you might as well work with the experts) and have an option for cooperative play. |
Rainbow 6 with Mobile Suits? When I think of Gundam, sneaking around and busting up terrorists with window breaches and flashbangs isn't exactly what first comes to mind!

Squad-based tactical giant robot action sounds strangely appealing.

Basewars: I'm pretty sure this was the first and only fun baseball game ever in the history of video games. Konami needs to remake this fucking game now and maybe even do it with other sports. Wouldn't be a bad way to edge into EA's horrible sports game monopoly. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...f_the_Deep.jpg Treasures of the Deep: A very underappreciated and underrated, but completely awesome game. It deserves a sequel badly (though I can already see Bamco milking the DLC on this one, 300pt. paint jobs anyone?). Oddly enough, it's the only good game Black Ops ever made. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...s_Coverart.png Colony Wars: True, it had two crappy sequels, but the original had some of the best production values I've still ever seen in a game. The James Earl Jones-esque narrator, the very in-depth menus, stats, and background info and really awesome graphics for the early PS1 years were way ahead of its time. A faithful remake of the original would absolutely kill on this gen of consoles, though some extra content wouldn't hurt. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...hereboxart.jpg Tetrisphere: This was my favorite puzzle game of all time, and I'm still shocked they never went further with it. Sequel, DS port, Wiimake; I don't care, anything will do; just bring this damn game back to life, Nintendo! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...px-Dxcover.jpg Deus Ex: So far, one of the greatest games of all time has only gotten one decent, but very misguided sequel. I'm well aware Deus Ex 3 is finally being made, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna suck, so I'm still putting this on here for hopes of an excellent sequel, or at least remake, down the line. Also, awesome call on Uniracers, Novax. |

I'd be happy with them just releasing this as a d/l for one of the current systems but if the remade it by keeping the gameplay exactly the same but updating the graphics and music and maybe putting in some optional fights and class upgrades I'd buy it instantly.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2655/...b927dace_o.jpg Warsong. My favorite Genesis game of all time. We couldn't find it ANYWHERE as kids so we cheated. We "lost" the copy we rented at Blockbuster and paid them for it. |

Nothing is more amusing than people who self congratulate themselves for thinking they know what they're going on about, and finding an inconsistency when it's not there. They are in the middle of the triple tech Arc Impulse. Of which there are plenty of frames where the magic blast Marle uses is damn straight up orange, so. :nerdrage: that. |

YouTube - Chrono Trigger All Triple Techs on spekkio + others
About 18 seconds in. The only way that bolt she's firing at the screen is orange is if your TV is broken. (Also note Frog has his sword drawn while waiting for Crono to slash in the video, but not in the picture (other than the one frame where he's clearly standing and not bent over like he's ready to take a veiner from Magus).) |
The sword flashes red on his down jump, (which is happening in the art) but you know, whatever. Try playing the game and such~
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16...gerU_00001.png Now go to hell, thanks~ |
But Marle's no longer touching the flame (unlike in the art!). In the game she shoots a little ice blob, then it turns into MASSIVE CRONO RAGE. In the art she lights his sword on fire.
I always thought it looks more like the fire sword dual tech between Crono and Lucca than Arc Impulse. (Also her dress is purple in the art. Everyone knows she wears blue, and Lucca, the person that uses fire, has purple hair.) |
If only imagining things made them true. :(
|
Well, you guys have to remember that pretty much all of the official promotional art for Chrono Trigger is all mis-colored anyway.
(Magus does not have yellow pants) |
And Terra's FF6 art doesn't reflect that sprite of her's at all either. So what?
The problem here is that RR's slightly wrong about something and I am going to go full on dicknigger mode. |
well i mean if we want to get real technical about it her magical arc in-game doesnt even closely represent that which is shown on the box art
so like yeah i guess that makes you the dicknigger here DOESNT IT |
See this is why Chrono Trigger fanatics are almost as bad as furries and vore fetishists.

Vagrant Story: Where's a fucking sequel already? |

Also, Faxanadu was an awesome merging of Norse and Japanese mythology with crazy Giger creatures. It was probably the most fun I had with a side scrolling adventure / RPG back in the NES days, and your travels through the world tree were crazy expansive for the time. http://www.forsako.com/Faxanadu_NES_US_box.jpg |

Power Stone 2: I want Power Stone 3 NEOW. Seriously Capcom, what the fuck? |
a not so popular game called Floating Runner (PS). 3rd person shooter with cute designs but sort of blocky and not well made even for its time. nonetheless enjoyable. perhaps i am looking towards a remake of the game than a sequel.. :D
another is the hive (PS) space shooter game. and finally, Card Master (jpn) aka Arcana(us) (SNES) |

I didn't really like MOOIII that much, so I'm not counting it as a deserving sequel http://i33.tinypic.com/10wuu0x.jpg The only reason I played my Ps2 for about 4 months :p |

Not sure if someone already mentioned this or not, but I am not intending to go through 4 pages... so forgive me. Level 5, where the hell is the sequal? Even though Dark Cloud 1 storyline =/= Dark cloud 2, both were good anyways. Hopefully same for third if they make it. |

mafia needs a sequel
mafia absolutely needs a sequel....nice forum though.... keep up the good work

I have some good news.............

So, after reading all of these, I knew mine wasn't going to show up...I was going to say something about Vagrant Story, and found it about three times...
Here is a game from my childhood I would LOVE to see again, if anyone even remembers it. http://www.retrones.net/Caratulas/Th...mpus%20usa.jpg It was the only game growing up I could get my dad to play. Plus it's just fun. With it perfecting the Zelda 2 engine, maybe it could steal the Ocarina of Time engine for Battle of Olympus 2. Plus the ending of this game sucked
God Damn, they need to give me a sequel just to forgive me for this...the hours I spent writing down passwords.... |
I am a fps games fan, so:
Disruptor PSX - great, underrated game. It had great graphics for the Playstation, nice soundtrack (which changed when you did hit), nice levels etc. It's in my top 20 for sure :) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._cover_art.PNG Powerslave/Exhumed PSX/SAT - fps set in ancient Egypt, with a great soundtrack and really interesting engine (real lighting, 3D objects, Saturn's Duke & Quake were based on this). The most sad part of this is that Lobotomy actually started a sequel for Playstation with 3D enemies (there is 3D model of lion hanging around - Google for the interview with the authors). The guys knew how to code. And screw the PC version - it was ok, but worse than console counterparts. Shadow Warrior PC - pushed the Build engine to its limits. Nice soundtrack and level design for its time featuring ancient Japan & current Hong-Kong. This game never reached the success of Duke Nukem and it won't have a sequel if they have a problem with releasing Duke Forever. Blood & Redneck Rampage should also be remade by the way. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...r_Coverart.png Of course all these games won't be realeased :( There is a slight chance for Shadow Warrior (the company still 'exists' and they didn't say no) & Blood (there is a problem with copyrights & licenses, but the old authors really want to make it). |
Shuriken guns and random anime titters? I would love another Shadow Warrior. Played that game to death.
Multiplayer was awesome too, it could use a Live/PSN release. Redneck Rampage wait what is this couldwehopeohshitwhat =o |
Lots of obscure stuff. :annoyed:
How about Freedom Fighters? I've been wishing they remade this game as soon as I actually finished it. It wasn't bad, its just that, as with most any other IO Interactive game, Freedom Fighters was deplorably underdeveloped. Even for its time, it was really lacking in the scale that would do it justice. A remake with more of everything would be awesome: bigger levels, more weapons, CUSTOMIZABLE weapons, different TYPES of recruitable people. Not to mention a fucking multiplayer mode for the one platform that most logically needs it: THE PC! The original game had a split-screen, offline multiplayer mode. On the PS2. *Rubs face in sand* Alternatively, a sequel with the above game characteristics would do just fine as well. |
Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 need a remake similar to the Original Resident Evil and not a shit on rails game.
|
I agree. I never played the 2nd or 3rd installment. And I'm not going to any time soon - because the second I'm done playing they announce the epic re-releases like they just did with God of War and the Metroid Trilogy.
On top of the remakes, we could also need some more "shit" on rails games. Because honestly, having a couple of friends over and a good stash of beer makes that shit beyond awesome. |
Indiana Jones and the Infernal machine (2000)
It was too more interesting for me than even Emperor`s tomb, but bad control scheme made any fight a real pain in the the ass:
you cannot move while shooting; you cannot aim yourself and have to wait while Indiana finally aims at an enemy. And a slow bullet can even miss an enemy if he starts moving AFTER you aimed and shot; HORRIBLE strafing made only moving with turning possible (cause strafing is an ENORMOUSLY slow way) Infernal machine was the best Indy game ever if it would have a control scheme of Emperor`s tomb |
The Freedom Fighters sequel sounds awesome but I doubt it will happen. Again.
With FF in mind, I would like a sequel to Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. Or at least Clive Barker's Undying 2 or something (fuck Jericho). But alas, too much to ask. |
