Wheel of Fortune
I'll spiff this up later, but for NOW
Hello, Gamingforce, and welcome to Mo0's rendition of Wheel of Fortune, blatantly ripping off one of America's favorite gameshows! It's Hangman plus CASH MONEY (virtual) AND PRIZES (also virtual)! Isn't that EXCITING? I'm actually torn between two different ways to "host" this. One of them involves allowing everyone to play by taking simultaneous turns over the course of a day, updating the board all at once, and then everyone getting another crack. The other way is what I'm going to do at first, which is ask for three players: Red Player: Hawkeye Blue Player: wvlfpvp Yellow Player: Crash Landon and play the game the normal way. To spin, you'll roll a 1d24, and I'll let you know what you landed on. If you land on a dollar amount, you'll guess a letter and win that dollar amount for each instance of the letter in the puzzle. If there's no instances of that letter, you lose your turn. Land on the Lose A Turn space, and the same thing happens, as well as Bankrupt, which also wipes out all your money. I'll explain other "twists" to the gameplay (shamelessly ripped off from the real show) as we get to them. For now, I need 3 players and 1d100s to determine who'll go first. Tally-ho! |
sounds like fun. Hopefully i'll still have internet in the coming days.
I'm in. Red. |
Please to roll your 1d100.

Ack! Sorry, forgot.

I'm SO in. Blue

Holy shit, a tie on a D100 roll, didn't see that coming.

Taking YELLOW.
Looks like I go first. |
Sweet, 3 players! To save time, I'll perform the tiebreaker.

I took that one step farther and made TWO chains in this puzzle. Since Crash started the first round, Hawkeye will start this one, and since to be perfectly honest his only option is to spin, I'll take care of that for him. PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK $ 6 0 0 $600, Hawkeye, barring any objections over me spinning for you. What's your poison? If everyone would like I can always make it a combo of two PUBLIC rolls on the forums, but I'm trying to make it so y'all can't just guess what number you need to hit for, say, $5,000. |
no big deal about rolling for me, it's faster that way

Hawkeye scores nearly $10,000 on the round, and for Round 3, wvlfpvp starts. This time there's no free spin, but there IS the Jackpot space. The Jackpot starts at $5,000, and will increase by the value of every space that gets landed on. If someone lands on the Jackpot space, they get to choose a letter, and then if they can solve RIGHT THEN, they win the jackpot. It'll make sense as we go, trust me! Alright, this is just silly.
I Win! who wants to play the new game? And do we want to start a new thread for it or just keep going? |
No you don't. I has more money than you!

ummm.... i got almost $10000 in round 2, in case you forgot
which would be forgivable, seeing as you didn't get a turn |

|
yeah, that was the plan.
I'm probably just going to post a list of which numbers correspond with which spaces on the board so that we can approximately double the speed of the game. Not as suspenseful as Mo0's version, but hopefully more effective. Who wants to play?? |
Faster game at the expense of suspense is a perfectly fine trade-off.
Again, I'd be happy to play. |
Unfortunate that this died out, but I'll try out the new game. Not sure why you think that the number system would drastically improve the speed of the game, as we're still going to have bad guesses and misses. It will make it much easier to guess, and make vowel purchasing more accurate, but I wouldn't think that would be such a huge increase? Usually just seems to be login lag.
|
attempt two
Right, that's 3. as much as I would love to let more people play, Wheel of Fortune really doesn't work with more.
I think we'll plan on a three or four round game. That said, I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any ideas to make the game more interesting. I haven't played or even watched the show in quite some time, so I was planning on just playing a standard game. Here's the wheel I'm basing the numbers off of Spoiler:
And, more importantly, here's a list of what dice roll corresponds with which space on the board Spoiler:
Areas, this speeds things up because before Mo0 was having us spin, wait for him to tell us what it was, and then guessing. In this case you guys can guess a letter each time without my having to be there to tell you you didn't get bankrupt. That said, let it begin! Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Areas - $0 Chocodecided the order. Garr, you're up first. Let's start with something simple, shall we? |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| THING |
You'll increase the money numbers in each round, right?
|
Ah, ok. I read your initial description incorrectly with how you were going to set up the number correspondence. The way I originally read it, I interpreted "board" to mean the letter area which was Ms. White's territory, not the spinner. Makes more sense now.
Additional Spam: Garr: Since we're apparently using the pre-1989 wheel, Free Spin actually gives you a "Free Spin" token, which you can use to counteract the Bankruptcy and Lose a Turn conditions, as well as missed guesses. If you landed on it in the pre-1989 version, then just spin again immediately. People used to do this constantly and had perfect spins to hit it over and over, so they took it off the board and make it a pick up token with a $ value underneath. Yay internet. |
Go ahead and pick a letter Garr. You got $450.
Yes, the number values will go up as the rounds go (although not too much, there won't be any $5000 spaces this time around) Yeah, I'll replace the free spin with a dollar value. It'll come back next round. Thanks for that tip, I probably would've just left it there. There's no way to set up the number to keep getting them, but still. Garr has a free spin pretty much just as Areas explained. I'm not sure whether it fully counteracts a bankrupt or just lets you keep going, though. I'm pretty sure a free spin just allows you to continue your turn where it should end, so that's what we'll go with for now. |

Apologies, I had work travel come up that kind of caught me by surprise. I think my turns may have too much lag, as I'm only checking email when I get to the hotel each night and crash. P.S. the second one doesn't work unless you add a ) at the end, it got left out of the link for some reason. |

Thing Used letters: S R C T N L U Garr - $0 Dopefish - $700 Areas - $3050 Two Ls, so that's good. ... The severe lack of any U in the puzzle, however, is not. Sorry Areas, you're done for now. Garr, you're up. Have at it. |
I'd like to point out that his name is Araes. :)
|
Oh good grief, how long have I been getting that wrong? I'm sorry man. That's just wrong.
|
No offense taken, and pretty easy transpose to make. Darn, on the U, I could have sworn that central word was "cute".
|

Thing Used letters: S R C T N L U B I G Garr - $0 Dopefish - $750 Araes - $3050 Four Is, and the one G gets you your money back. Nice choice. |
Alright, let's see what this does.
I'm guessing there's a Y in there, so I'll take that and any Es in there as well. |
|T|_|I|_|_|L|I|N|G| |C|I|T|Y| |S|_|Y|L|I|N|E|
Thing Used letters: S R C T N L U B I G Y E Garr - $0 Dopefish - $2100 Araes - $3050 Two Ys get you a considerable amount of dough, and while there's only one E, the important thing at this point is that it's still your turn. |
I hate to roll when I'm this close, but I can't figure that first word out.
Additional Spam: Free spin, rolling again. Gimme a K, please. |
|T|_|I|_|K|L|I|N|G| |C|I|T|Y| |S|K|Y|L|I|N|E|
Thing Used letters: S R C T N L U B I G Y E K Garr - $0 Dopefish - $3100 Araes - $3050 If you don't know it, you don't know it, that's just the way it goes. The two Ks in the puzzle are good for an extra $1000, though, so it's not all bad. Spin or solve? There aren't any vowels left, that's fairly obvious (i just realized that I probably should have told you that a couple of turns ago, but whatever). |
I'm gonna have to petition you to verify the spelling of that first word, because I have a feeling you missed something there.
Either that, or I guess I'll be spinning again. |

And guessing was probably messed up too. At this point Dope's got it, but I guess I'll just let him have the honor of saying the answer. Do you guys want me to continue to run the game? I feel really bad about this. Both puzzles. At least I'm consistent. |
I'm fine with you playing out the game (since, you know, you'll probably try harder), but I would suggest giving Araes the $800 for the next round, since he loses it when the puzzle is correctly solved. If you don't WANT to continue I'll happily moderate the third game. I'd prefer that you stay on, just so that we can actually finish a game.
BTW, the answer is "TWINKLING CITY SKYLINE". |
And thus ends round 2.
Dopefish takes the lead with that $3100 puzzle, but Garr's still reasonably close with $2350 in the bank. I would love to keep modding the game, I just feel like I'm ruining the game by messing up so much. It would probably help if it hadn't been 3 or 4 years since I last watched the show. Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and give Araes the 800 at the start of this round. Once again, i need to go find a puzzle, so it'll be up in a few. Araes will start this round. Incidentally, this will probably be the second last round unless I feel the need to extend the game to 5 rounds for some reason. |
Nothing that you've done wrong couldn't be fixed, and it's just a game so no big deal. :)
|
Alright, here we go. Attempt number three. Not a thing for a change.
|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_| |_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| Place Used letters: Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $800 Araes, you're up first this round. |
OK, so, keeping this game going is tough when the current player doesn't reply for 24 hours.
|
not really surprising, though. hopefully he shows up soon. if it starts getting really silly i might just ask someone else to take over for him.
|
I think it's time to strongly consider a replacement.
Or starting from scratch AGAIN. |
no, we're not starting from scratch. It's not like Araes has won any money anyway, so replacing him with a new player won't have any effect on the game in the end. If anyone else wants to take Araes' place, now would be the time to speak up.
I feel bad about booting you man, but this game shouldn't be moving as slowly as it is. |
Not a problem if you need to find a replacement. Checked Scrabble yesterday but forgot to do this one. Otherwise, I'll keep at it, as its been fun so far.
I'll guess an R |
Almost forgot to boost the wheel. Things are getting serious. There's a lot of non-existent money on that thing.
wheel:
|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_| |_|_| |_|_|_|R|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| Place Used letters: R Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $1500 One R. Hopefully this one won't take as long as the others - it's strange how easy the puzzle seems when you know the answer. |
Spinning again, to get me some of that non-existent money.
Lets try an N this time. Would you prefer I just lay in with a ton of spins and letters, as that could make this go really fast on the opening couple spins? |
|_|_|_| |_|_|N|_| |_|_| |_|_|_|R|_|_|_|_|_|_|N|_|
Place Used letters: R N Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $3100 Two Ns. It's up to you whether you want to do a whole bunch of turns at one time. I guess it really comes down to wanting to know the results of your moves and wanting to try to win some of the fake money or just participating for the heck of it. |
Well, since you're apparently around while I am right now, I'll just roll normal for now. I'm mostly just am trying to brainstorm a way I could do rolls in advance to not bog the game down.
Spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Try a T |
|T|_|_| |_|_|N|_| |_|_| |_|_|_|R|_|_|_|_|_|_|N|_|
Place Used letters: R N T Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $3600 One T, just chipping away at the puzzle. |
Gahh. This will take eons. Spinny, spin, spin.
Lets go for an H |
|T|H|_| |_|_|N|_| |_|_| |_|_|_|R|_|_|H|_|_|N|_|
Place Used letters: R N T H Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $4600 Two more letters. Still nothing terribly helpful, it would seem. There's actually one less letter in the last word than I've been showing. Which is odd, because I spelled the words out before putting in the blanks... Anyway it's fixed now |
Hmm, first off, I'll buy an E and then some more spinnin. Think this may be the last for tonight.
Alright, I'll try an L |
|T|H|E| |L|_|N|_| |_|_| |L|E|_|R|E|_|H|_|_|N|_|
Place Used letters: R N T H E L Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $5450 Both letters were actually helpful for a change. The other two might not even get a turn at the rate this is going. |
I'll try buying an A to see if I can get some help here, as the last word is the real kicker.
|
|T|H|E| |L|A|N|_| |_|_| |L|E|_|R|E|_|H|A|_|N|_|
Place Used letters: R N T H E L A Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $5200 Two As should make things easier for you. Sorry things are moving a little more slowly, the internet in my room has stopped working so I have to move elsewhere to actually get homework done. |
No worry, I'm only checking this once in a while, and this is on the weekend. Lets give this another whirl and see if my guess is right.
And horrible money. Stupid wheel. Alright, D for the next guess. |
|T|H|E| |L|A|N|D| |_|_| |L|E|_|R|E|_|H|A|_|N|_|
Place Used letters: R N T H E L A D Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $5600 The obvious letter is there, but probably not terribly helpful toward your cause. It was worth a try (and $400) |
Eh, what the hell, I'll solve since I think I figured it out when the A came up, and I don't want to get unlucky and lose it all.
Ireland, err, The Land of Leprechauns |
Correct you are. That went pretty quickly. Too bad no one else got a turn.
Araes takes the lead with that $5600, Dopefish gets bumped to second place with $3100, and Garr's in the back with $2350. It's still anyone's game, though. Final puzzle coming soon! EDIT: another puzzle, another wheel:
|_|_|_|_| |_|_| |_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_| used letters: Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $0 The wheel just got twice as dangerous, but there's a few spaces on there big enough to win the game pretty much instantly. Also, I'm not giving you a category this time, just to make things difficult. :) |
Its also Garr's turn now correct?
|
Oops. Yes, it's Garr's turn to start.
|
|_|_|_|_| |_|_| |_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|
used letters: M Garr - $0 Dopefish - $0 Araes - $0 Alas, no M in sight. I'm sorry, man. Dope, you're up. Note: internet in my room is dead, but I'm going to try to make sure to check in at least once a day. |
4/13/1922: Massachusetts opens all public offices to women
Let's see some Ts. |

|_|_|_|_| |_|_| |T|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_| used letters: M T Garr - $0 Dopefish - $750 Araes - $0 One T keeps your turn alive. I almost missed it. |
Well then, I'll buy an E first, then I'll spin.
How about H? |
|_|_|_|_| |_|_| |T|H|E| |_|_|_|_|_|E|
used letters: M T E H Garr - $0 Dopefish - $2000 Araes - $0 Apart from the obvious increase in money, not a lot of help, apart from revealing the obvious word. |
I'll spin again
How about some Ns? |
|_|_|N|_| |_|_| |T|H|E| |_|_|N|_|_|E|
used letters: M T E H N Garr - $0 Dopefish - $6000 Araes - $0 The N is considerably more helpful, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed by all of the fake money you just earned. It's great for buying fake optimism during these tough times. |
I'm gonna solve this sucker right now:
KING OF THE JUNGLE |
... Yeah. Rats. I thought it was a good puzzle.
And thus, with that easy $6000, Dopefish Wins. So now what do we want to do? Is the game exciting enough to warrant continuing, or is guessing letters losing its appeal? I'm willing to keep modding if people want to keep playing, but it's hard to hold interest with a game as slow and turn based as this one. |
I'd like to mod a game myself, if you'll let me. Either way, I'll keep playing.
|
Go for it man. I'm far too lazy to actually run a decent game, and I wouldn't mind a bit of a break from modding.
|
I'd like to get into the next one, if that is possible.
|
Well then, let's get another threesome going and we'll get this show on the road.
|
I'll play again, unless three new people want to play, in which case I'll bow out.
|
Well, rather than risk not having any new players come along, I'll get it started shortly. (As long as I'm not killed. :()
|
Hopefully quick post before I'm slain again. Would be interested, but since you've got three I'll sit this one out. Good game though, and nice solve on the last puzzle Dopefish.
|
Alright, we've got three players then:
SuperSonic Hawkeye Garr I'm going to try a more realistic game of Wheel of Fortune, using the actual wheel configuration from the show. I'm going to limit the game to 40 letter guesses total but a minimum of four rounds (if the 40th guess comes before or during the fourth round, we'll go to Final Spin mode in the fourth round, where vowels will be worth $0 and consonants will be worth $1,000 + whatever space the wheel lands on when I spin it), and there will be a Bonus Round for the winner. Wheel values:
Space 6 is a Free Spin space, meaning if you land on it and guess a letter in the puzzle, you'll get $300 per letter and a free spin which you can use at any point in the game to save yourself from the Lose Turn or Bankrupt spaces (but, sadly, you'll still go Bankrupt). The free spin space will thereafter be $300 per letter. Space 9 is a Gift Tag space, meaning if you land on it and guess a letter in the puzzle, you'll receive a gift tag which will be worth $300 per letter and a random bonus between $500-$1000. Note that you'll have to solve the puzzle to redeem it. The Gift Tag space will thereafter be $300 per letter. Space 12 is a $1,000,000 space, meaning if you land on it, you'll have to roll an additional 1d3. If you roll a 1 or a 3 on the roll, you'll be Bankrupt. If you roll a 2 and guess a letter in the puzzle, you'll get $800 per letter and the chance for $1,000,000 in the bonus round if you win and don't go Bankrupt through the remainder of the game. The $1,000,000 space will thereafter be $800 per letter. Space 20 is a Wild Card space, meaning if you land on it and guess a letter in the puzzle, you'll be given $700 per letter and a Wild Card space, which you may use at any point in the game to search for two letters in the puzzle at your discretion. (You may also hold onto it for the Bonus Round.) Thereafter the Wild Card space will be worth $700 per letter. Space 22 is a Prize space, meaning if you land on it and guess a letter in the puzzle, you'll be given $350 per letter and a random bonus between $4,000 and $7,000. Note that you'll have to solve the puzzle to redeem it. Thereafter the Prize space will be worth $350 per letter. With that said, here's the puzzle and the category: |_||_||_||_| |_||_||,| |_||_||'||_||_| |_||_| |_||_| |_||_||_||_||!| SAYING Let's play the feud! Err, let's see who's going first...Hawkeye! |

|
By the way, I was planning to make it so that the spaces changed according to the last spin. And I could still do that. Just to make it more realistic.

Space 17 has increased in value from $2,500 to $3,500. Space 18 has been changed from a money space to a Bankrupt space. It's now Garr's turn, with this puzzle and category: do-do-do-do |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| THINGS Jackpot: $5,000 (By the way, I should've deducted $250 from SuperSonic's score in the previous round for guessing for As and there not being any. Puzzle solved. So after two rounds we've got a heck of a game going. Garr's taken the lead, but it's still anyone's game. There's still at least 2 rounds left to go and a lot of (fake) money to be (won). On to round 3, with a few changes on the wheel: Wheel values:
Spaces 1 and 13 are the Mystery spaces, meaning if you land on them and guess a letter in the puzzle, you have the choice of taking either $1,000 per letter or a 50/50 chance on an instant $10,000 bonus or a Bankrupt. Taking the gamble will require rolling an additional 1d2; 1 being the $10,000 bonus, 2 being Bankrupt. If and when someone takes the gamble, the space that wasn't affected by the gamble will be worth only $1,000 per letter (i.e. one gamble per round), and the space that was affected by the gamble will be worth its normal value (1 = $300; 13 = $500). I came back to check if it was still my turn and it turns out we've gone through an entire rotation. Figures.
Let's try a G. (something in my gut tells me this isn't good idea, but i'm too tired to care) |
No Gs on there, either.

I'll solve the puzzle.
Beanie Baby on Board |
Congratulations, SuperSonic, you solved the puzzle!
Hawkeye - $1850 Garr - $2800 And nothing to show for it but taking away Hawkeye's chance to run away with this game! :tpg: 27. SuperSonic guessed T. No Ts. 28. Hawkeye guessed N. 2 Ns. ($3500x2) 29. SuperSonic guessed "BEANIE BABY ON BOARD". Puzzle solved. So after three rounds and 39 turns it's still anyone's game, but... *DING-DING! DING-DING!* ...that means I'm gonna give the wheel a Final Spin. In the final round, players will take turns guessing letters and will be given a chance to guess the puzzle. If a player guesses a letter not on the board, they lose their chance to guess on the puzzle for that rotation. We'll keep going until someone guesses the puzzle correctly. You may buy vowels, and they are worth nothing (meaning no deduction), but consonants are worth...$1550 apiece. The puzzle and category: |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|'|_| |_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| (BOOK/MOVIE) And SuperSonic, we'll start with you. |

STEPHEN KING'S THE STAND |
Believe it or not, you're CORRECT! Congratulations, Hawkeye, you solved the puzzle and you've won the game!
END OF GAME - TOTALS SuperSonic - $1000 Garr - $2800 1. SuperSonic guessed T. 3 Ts. ($1550x3) 2. SuperSonic guessed "A GROUP OF PILL PUSHERS". Incorrect. 3. Hawkeye guessed S. 3 Ss. ($1550x3) 4. Hawkeye guessed "STEPHEN KING'S THE STAND". Puzzle solved. Garr, you performed quite well at times, and you ended up having $2800 in fun bucks to spend on that Segway you always wanted! SuperSonic, I'm sorry things didn't go so well for you. I thought things would've went well for you in the final round after negating the third puzzle, but it wasn't to be. Still, no one on Wheel of Fortune goes home empty handed, so we'll give you $1000 as a consolation prize! Better luck next time! Hawkeye, pretty tricky to solve a puzzle with that little to work with, but you were pretty accurate with your guesses in this game. You dominated play pretty much from the get-go and if it weren't for that bankrupt in round 2 this could've gotten out of hand. Nevertheless you've won the game and that means you're heading on to the Bonus Round! The Bonus Round is your chance to boost your score by up to $100,000. The Bonus Wheel has 24 spaces on it with prizes ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 (in increments of $5,000), $100,000 or a new car (random value between $20,000 and $40,000). What I'll need you to do is post and roll 1d24. After your roll you'll need to give me three consonants and one vowel that you think might be in the puzzle. The letters R, S, T, L, N and E are already used in the puzzle. I'll update the puzzle and you'll then post your guesses (up to five) as to what the puzzle might be. If you're feeling super-confident you can post less than five guesses but you better be sure because you're not getting another chance! BEST OF LUCK! Here's the Bonus Puzzle: |_|_|_|E| |_|_|_|L|_|_|N|_|E| Guessed letters: E L N R S T So give me three consonants and a vowel, and spin 1d24. (Hope you didn't see my little mistake '¬_¬) |
how exciting.
I'll take C, P, V, and O. |
It is exciting, isn't it! Here's what kind of damage your letters made:
|_|O|_|E| |_|P|P|L|_|_|N|C|E| (THING) Remember, maximum of five guesses in your next post, but I don't think you'll need them all. Good luck! |
I'd better not, I can't see anything other than HOME APPLIANCE fitting in that puzzle...
Nope, I keep trying, but I can't fit in anything else that makes sense. |
"HOME APPLIANCE" is correct! Congratulations!
Your bonus prize is...a new car! It's a four-door sedan, nothing terribly fancy, and it's still kinda behind the times in terms of fuel efficiency, but maybe you can just sell it for a good chunk of money. The value of the car is $20,039, bringing your final score to $26,539! Congratulations again! Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: So, since that game is over, I wouldn't mind "hosting" again but if anyone thinks I suck or they just would like to take over that's cool with me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt the game was dragging on a bit long. Did it seem like I complicated things? I was enjoying it when things were moving along. |
Felt like playing on the show, overall I think you did a fine job Dope. I'd like to get in on the next game again seeing as how I didn't do too well my first time. XD
|
It was a lot more like the real show than my game, and it worked well. I'll sit the next game out though, I've played or run all of the games so far so i'm taking a break.
|
Well if we can find two others to play I'll get it rolling again.
|
Well I won't wait forever for people to start lining up. If I have three by this time tomorrow I'm starting Game 2.
|
If ya'll can deal with me being in school I think this could be fun!
|
Alright, so:

Garr, you had a good run at it in round 2 but it wasn't meant to be. You still get $1000 as a consolation, bringing your all-time total up to $3800. Good stuff! SuperSonic, unbelievable. You blew everyone off the stage in round 1 and never looked back. You tripled what Hawkeye had by the end of the game last time, and with the Bonus Round on the horizon you've got a great chance of coming away with more money overall. Here are the rules for the Bonus Round, in case you forgot them. |_|_|_|_|_|_|T|_|_|N|_|L| |_|_|_|_|R|_| (THING) Guessed letters: E L N R S T |
Alright, hope it's a good prize!!
C, D, M, I |
Well...
|_|C|C|_|_|_|T|I|_|N|_|L| |_|_|_|_|R|D| (THING) ...the important thing is you get five guesses in one post. So, best of luck! |

Your bonus prize is...$35,000! That's really very good! Sure you could've done better, but you could've done worse! And adding that to your end-of-game winnings, and it looks like your grand total for this game is...$53,720! Holy crap! You've gone and blown Hawkeye's final score right away. Congratulations once again! Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: ALL-TIME SCORES
So that's another game in the books. I wouldn't mind hosting again, though I'd love to have three new people. Of course, if someone else wants to host I'll certainly step aside. |
*insert Mark Hamill Joker laugh*
Revenge on that damn wheel!! I'm gonna step down from the next game and give someone else a shot. Thanks for letting me play! |
I need to redeem myself v_v
|
After this game we should have a battle of the champions
|
That would be interesting hawkeye. I'm all for that!

Wow, you guys still need a third player? It's nearly been a month and I wouldn't mind joining in once again.
|
I'm still in.
|
I can't be bothered to host it right now, since I'm going to the meet.
|
I'll take care of hosting duties. We'll still need two more players.
|
Alright, 2 people are in. We need one more player to get this show on the road.
|
I like to get this action rolling again, if enough people are interested (read: 3+). |
Yeah, I'm game for this. Would like to try my hand.
|
Gonna need two more people then.
|
Honk.

In the spirit of having trouble getting three people sign up for a game of hangman around here, sign me up, Vanna.

Dullenplain
Zergrinch Dr. Uzuki All right, we have three contestants. If you don't know how the game goes, you spin 1d24 and whatever it lands on corresponds to the spaces listed below. You guess a consonant and if it's on the board you get x times the value of the space, x being the number of times that letter is on the board. If you have $150 and it's your turn, you can also buy a vowel. You lose your turn if the letter you guess isn't on the board, or if you land on Bankrupt or Lose Turn. Also, one change to the Wheel itself: Free Spin is now a permanent slice of the wheel, so if you land on it you'll get a free spin regardless of whether you get a correct letter or not. Anything else needs to be explained, I'll explain it. Spoiler:
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_| (PLACE) We'll start with...Dullenplain. |
Okay let's give it a spin!
Come on big money! Okay, on the $300. Any S? |
There is one S.
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|S| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_| (PLACE) Used letters: S Dullenplain - $300 Zergrinch Dr. Uzuki So you can buy vowels if you want, or you can spin again. Spoiler:
|
I think I'll spin again.
Okay, $550. We got T? And if I am successful, I'll buy an A. |
There are 3 Ts, netting you $1650, then 4 As, bought for $150.
|_|_|A|_|_| |T|_|T|_|_|S| |_|A|T|_|_|_|A|_| |_|A|_|_| (PLACE) Used letters: A S T Dullenplain - $1800 Zergrinch Dr. Uzuki I apologize for how slow things are. I suggest subscribing to the thread so you're aware things are going on. |
Think I'll spin.
Okay, got a Wild Card and landed on $700. Let's go for an R. And if that's good, I'll buy an O. |
Two Rs for $1400, and $150 gets you two Os.
|_|R|A|_|_| |T|_|T|O|_|S| |_|A|T|_|O|_|A|_| |_|A|R|_| (PLACE) Used letters: A O R S T Dullenplain - $3250 Zergrinch - $0 Dr. Uzuki - $0 There is an error in the puzzle, BTW, but we'll keep going. Dull, the Wild Card you just got can be used at any time in any round to guess any letter (you get the value of the space you land on for consonants, vowels are free), though saving it for the Bonus Round may be wise. |
I'll spin one more time, let's hope it lands on money!
Hell yeah, Free Spin and $500! N, please. |

(PLACE) Used letters: A N O R S T Dullenplain - $3800 Zergrinch - $0 Dr. Uzuki - $0 Pretty much obvious now. |
Just to make sure, I think my cash total should actually be $5050.
$300 for one S $1650 for three Ts -$150 for the As $1400 for the two Rs -$150 for the Os $2000 for the four Ns which makes the total $5050, unless I'm counting something incorrectly here. Anyway, I'll solve the puzzle, even with the error that was in it. GRAND TETONS NATIONAL PARK |
Yeah so I shouldn't try doing this stuff when I should be going to sleep. Anyway, you solved the puzzle!
Zergrinch - $0 Dr. Uzuki - $0 My apologies to Zergrinch, who PMed me to let me know there is no "S" in the name of Grand Teton National Park, which obviously would've set this round in another direction had I not had that typo. Anyway, you'll get your chance at redemption Zergrinch in round 2, as you're up first. New wheel values: Spoiler:

Dullenplain - $5050 Dr. Uzuki - $0 I should also mention that the Free Spin space (which should be called Free Play now) is now static; that is, you don't get to keep it. Here's how Wikipedia explains it: Quote:
I also didn't keep track of the Jackpot during the last round like I should have. I'm messing up a lot this time around! :eagletear: Anyway, round 3 and we're still quite a ways from the Final Spin. Still anyone's game. Dr. Uzuki, you'll start this round. Spoiler:
