Reincarnation

I used to be a stone cold atheist. You could probably even have called me a militant atheist.

Then I was thinking one day, and I realized that the idea of one life is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Reincarnation must exist, whether there is a causal (karmic?) connection or otherwise, we *will* live another life, no matter what.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Jan 17, 2009 12:20 AM

This is gonna go over GREAT.

Jessykins Jan 17, 2009 12:21 AM

Welp, I'm convinced. Thanks, buddy.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Jan 17, 2009 12:22 AM

That's great.

Hey everyone, static had a thought!

No. Hard Pass. Jan 17, 2009 12:22 AM

Really. Please do explain how your utterly preposterous, unquantifiable result has any logic whatsoever. Let alone how it MUST be true. Please explain how the cycle of life and death is ridiculous. No, no, really. Explain away logic with your voodoo. Go ahead and do it.

No really. It's fine.

I'll wait.

We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves.

Here's Tom with the weather.

Am I butterfly dreaming I’m a man? Or a bowling ball dreaming I’m a plate of sashimi?

Unless you run down the street with a AK47, you don't qualify.

Words use to have meanings. :/

Oh look some guy who used to think like a spiteful cunt decides his entire belief system is null based on nothing.

You must have been a great atheist.

Kolba Jan 17, 2009 01:26 AM

We *will* keep on registering new accounts, no matter what.

Scent of a Grundle Jan 17, 2009 02:05 AM

Other people don't actually exist. You are all just products of my imagination as my bodyless soul floats through space and time. None of what I do actually matters because nothing I do actually happens.

Little Brenty Brent Brent Jan 17, 2009 02:16 AM

Hey, man, what if, like, when I look at the sky? And I see it's blue, right? What if that's not the same blue you see? Like colour could all be in your head, and you're the only one who sees it the way you do, but since you've always seen it that way you think that's how it really looks.

Shit, man.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Jan 17, 2009 02:35 AM

Life is pointless, an exercise in futility. We are born only to die. Everything in-between is moot. Hedonism is the only true form of existence - live in the moment, for there is only now. Time is but an illusion created to rationalize differences in observations. We are all living and dying in the same moment.

Life is like trying to explain "red" to a blind man.

Woah.

Bernard Black Jan 17, 2009 03:07 AM

There's no past, no future, just one pulsating present. Please leave your message after the tone.

RacinReaver Jan 17, 2009 03:41 AM

We are made out of recycled stardust. :forscience:

LZ Jan 17, 2009 12:57 PM

recycled stardust which has existed prior to this current iteration of the 'universe'...you see, space and time expands and collapses onto itself repeatedly and eternally...what that means is everything we have experienced and are experiencing and will experience has already happened before our 'universe' was even created...

Ballpark Frank Jan 17, 2009 04:35 PM

I wanna come back as a chick.

A hot chick.

static_x_2666 Jan 17, 2009 05:20 PM

Just think about it, guys.

If *this* - this essence of being, this essence of reality... whatever the HELL is happening right now, can happen once, it will happen again. It's pretty goddamn simple.

My logic is flawless. It is up to your flawed perception to realize its flawlessness.

Is that an unsubstantiated claim you just made?

How is making crap up equates to flawless logic? If anything, that sounds like none-logic to me.

Hey yeah, except science already disproved the Universal Constant.

Cold death is more likely to set in than any aspect of your nature coming back as a form of consciousness.

coeccias Jan 17, 2009 08:25 PM

Maybe one day this guy will learn the difference between inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning (or perhaps he has learned it in a past life and will certainly learn it in this one).

Basil Jan 17, 2009 08:37 PM

No, seriously guys. We HAVE been wrong all this time. There's proof now!

If the man with an IQ of 350 agrees with Mr. Static here, then there's certainly a lot of other secrets in this world we are not aware of! I certainly hope Aardark shares more of his vast knowledge with us, I am rather curious to know more!

We all reincarnate as plant fertilizer.

Sorry about the spoilers, TC.

todaysmiracle Mar 3, 2009 02:53 AM

Why r u guys so bad to Mr Static? His way of argumenting is rock solid. Just the way he presents his thesis with vast theoretical and empirical data is impressive. Coming from the land of the Nobel Prize I'm tempted to give him my vote for the next prize in...eh.. like... medicine..?

ExoXile Mar 3, 2009 03:12 AM

Hey guys, basically we are immortal.
No matter what, the compounds we're made out from will never cease to exist!

So reincarnation? Yeah, maybe as some sweet nutrients for a flower or some raindrop falling down the sky~

Hell, you might even be a part of a human again.

That being said, the continuation and perpetuating concious-self of you?

Perpetuation by recycling, pretty damn sweet mate.:erm:

Leknaat Mar 3, 2009 03:42 AM

If reincarnation does exist, then why does the population keep growing, instead of staying constant?

Answer me with your logic.

Different planets, galaxies, dimensions, etc etc etc

Pretty simple lol

sherlockrulez May 14, 2009 08:31 PM

Do you all not see it as a bit...erroneous to be discussing a matter which cannot possibly be solved? As blatently logical as some subject matter stated is (hats off to Magi and exoXile respectively); everything is only a theory and/or opinion. None of us could possibly know what awates after death until we experience it. We may not even know then. Ergo, debating over this subject matter is pointless.

I understand that even replying to this thread is hypocritical of me. Yet I felt I had to have my input. Apologies.

Single Elbow May 14, 2009 09:15 PM

And you revived this thread which has been dead for two months.. for that?

Pointless reincarnation if you ask me.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon May 14, 2009 09:28 PM

God, if you want something left alone, you have to do it yourself these days.
