Boring dreams!

Tell me about your boring dreams!

I dreamt last night that I was cleaning grout with a toothbrush. I was enjoying it because I was doing a really good job with not a lot of work.

My mother can top it though. A few nights back she dreamt that the bread was stale.

NOW YOUR TURN

Jessykins Dec 22, 2008 11:57 PM

I had a dream a few nights back that I was mopping the kitchen. It never got clean though. Fucking tile.

Dullenplain Dec 22, 2008 11:57 PM

Unfortunately, I probably am no help here, as some may already know, despite my conscious efforts to be as downkey as possible, my dreams tend to do the opposite.

Dark Nation Dec 23, 2008 12:06 AM

I had a dream two nights ago that I was lying in bed and I felt the aftershocks of a Californian earthquake. Thought perhaps it was the real deal, but after asking my mom (who was up until odd hours of the night) if she felt anything, she said no. I then searched around for any reports of earthquakes, but nothing came up.

Thud. Dec 23, 2008 03:30 PM

I kept cutting my toenails. They kept instantly growing back.

I chewed them off.
They grew back.

I filed them down with rocks.
They grew back.

I pulled them out with pliers.
They grew back. They grew back... They grew back.

Ceres Dec 23, 2008 09:00 PM

This morning I awoke to a dream that I was trying to explain what fruit soup was to someone and they weren't getting it so I ended up shouting at him. He kept asking if it was like a smoothie and I told him no but he still wouldn't get it.

(Fruit soup is just pureed fruit, in a bowl and you eat it with a spoon. I had it once or twice at a cafe I used to go to.)

Bernard Black Dec 23, 2008 09:07 PM

I had a dream someone made me sweetbread. Generally I have fucking bizzare dreams though.

Krelian Dec 23, 2008 11:02 PM

I had a dream a few nights ago in which I jumped a queue for something, and resultantly got into an argument with the morbidly obese black lady at the front. I remember spending a very long time denying that I had taken her spot in the line despite having moved ahead of her with no subtlety whatsoever.

I don't think the confrontation reached a close before I woke up.

Vemp Dec 25, 2008 10:04 AM

One time I had this dream. I was sitting along a dusty highway. Gloomy sky, like it's about to rain. I was sitting there for quite some time now, then a delivery truck passes by. Dream ends.

Wall Feces Dec 25, 2008 11:48 AM

The other night I had a dream where I drank three big glasses of water and then urinated.

Curiously, my bed was damp and smelled of onions the next morning.

Ugh! If that's your idea of a boring dream, I'm worried about what you would consider scary.

I continuously have dreams that are so normal that I can't remember if they weren't just reality. For instance, I had a dream a couple days ago where I called my dentist to reschedule my appointment. I had to double-check with my parents if I had actually done that or not.

No. Hard Pass. Dec 25, 2008 12:23 PM

I've never had one of these, but a friend of mine once terrified me with a story. During tax season, for three days straight, he would do his taxes, fall asleep, and then dream of doing them. And it was verbatim. Same exact thing he'd just done all over again.

Woke up exhausted.

NinjaguyDan Dec 25, 2008 01:05 PM

My dream this morning involved me being hugged by a zombie for like 10 minutes and the whole time I was just confused as to why he was doing it... until in a scooby doo moment I realized he was a zombie and then woke up.

Normally I have really bizarre dreams so this one was tame.

Those kind of dreams are the fucking worst. Once when I was ill I kept dreaming I'd woken up, gone around the house doing stuff, then wake up again. This happened about ten times before I actually regained consciousness. It's so irritating because you think you've done things you haven't, and when you wake up you're not sure if you're still dreaming.

wvlfpvp Dec 25, 2008 01:41 PM

I have dreams where I go through opera performances. Without the normal weirdness/unpreparedness/idea that they're trying to get me to do something I can't do at all (dance ballet, ice skate) that usually accompanies dreams of that sort.

Also music dreams. Those are nice, because that's when I know I actually KNOW the music. Doesn't make them any less run-of-the-mill.

Vemp Dec 26, 2008 03:17 AM

I dreamt of mIRC and Excel screens too.

Put Balls Dec 26, 2008 05:43 AM

Semi-quoting Vemp. I actually dreamt that I wrote a whole research paper on the laboratory work I did on the day before the said dream. I think that dream took the whole night. You could say my disappointment was grand when I woke up and there was no finished paper on the table. =(

Another one was also school related, when I was stuck on this one integral. I had a dream about it for a few hours, and I actually solved it in my sleep. I had to force myself to wake up in the middle of the night and write the answer down on a piece of paper, and go back to sleep. That morning I woke up a bit more happy, I'd say.

Yeah, also music dreams here. I'm dreaming of metal and rock songs being arranged into symphony orchestra versions and playing them in my sleep.

EDIT: Yes, those are boring dreams, even though they're about things I like, sort of.

Luteus Jan 6, 2009 05:25 AM

I actually never had a boring dream. It's more like lolwut dreams.

For example I needed to have Bush stay in my house and needed to controll myself not to punch the crap out of him. If I do, WWIII would start and this would be the end of the universe.

RacinReaver Jan 6, 2009 01:17 PM

I remember one time having a dream where I had psychokinetic powers. What did I do with them? I walked out my front door, floated my mail key down to my mailbox, opened it, saw there was nothing it, locked the box back up, and then went back to bed.

I don't recall ever having dreams where I solve a complex problem, but I've woken up a few times in the middle of the night suddenly knowing how to solve it. No clue how my brain got to the answer since I remember so few of my dreams. :(

So it's like a smoothie in a bowl.

The other day I had a dream that I was washing dishes but there was no dish soap, so I had to go to the store to buy some.

During finals I often dream of studying. It's pretty dull.

Seris Jan 6, 2009 04:18 PM

I guess the most boring dream I ever had was after having played Phoenix Wright for like a week straight with minimal breaks in between sessions, and I dreamed one night I went to a gym with Edgeworth and he was the most droning guy ever.

Although I guess I should've found the conversation he kept trying to have with me about Satan more interesting, but in my mind it was just like "yeah whatever can we talk about something ELSE PLEASE"

Guru Jan 7, 2009 10:06 AM

Last night I dreamed that I was reading a book. I was trying to read it fast because it was a short book. But it just kept going on and on forever with the same page. But I kept on reading it. I don't even know what the book was about. There were no pictures.

Nahual Jan 7, 2009 04:30 PM

A couple nights ago, my dream was of me playing piano for Tori Amos and then playing a piano duet with her. She hugged me after all was done.
I woke up sad.

There was also the dream that I received a huge amount of scholarship money from a piano audition. I was gonna go to school again!
I woke up very sad.

I think those are the most boring dreams I've ever had. Mine are usually pretty strange.

I've had this type of thing happen, only in my case I had been raking pine needles off of my boss' lawn eight hours a day for three weeks straight. I almost wouldn't even have time to close my eyes to go to sleep that I would be seeing a sea of pine needles that I'd have to rake.

Those three weeks were hell.

ComradeTande Jan 11, 2009 10:26 PM

Dreaming about waking up, taking a shower and then going to work only to wake up once that work day is over...and having to do the same routine...

Oddly enough, that workday was more interesting than the dream.

Sarag Jan 23, 2009 10:33 AM

I had TWO boring dreams last night.

The first one was me at work during lunchtime. We were discussing who brought lunch and who would go. I told them I brought, then realized that I didn't and said I wanted to go. Someone said I only wanted to go because they were going, and I was mad because I was being called a liar about lunch.

The other dream was worse. I was online looking at a collection of President Obama photos. There was a theme; in each one it was him, or him and his wife and Biden and his, or some combination thereof, surrounded by religious figures doing chants or benedictions or some shit. They weren't being worshipped, since they were praying too; it was just a black man praying in a sea of like nuns or some shit also praying.

Sarag Feb 9, 2009 10:16 AM

Another boring dream!

I dreamt that my car dinged at me because I was low on gas. This morning I noticed that I was low on gas (I didn't get dinged at yet).

Prophetic!

Little Brenty Brent Brent Feb 9, 2009 10:57 AM

I just woke up from a dream that I was trying to get ready for school and the only thing in my closet was shirts with Disney characters on them. I was having difficulty deciding whether to go with Mickey enjoying a balloon ride or Goofy running a marathon.

Radez Feb 10, 2009 08:44 AM

I dreamt that a bunch of people were getting on an elevator but I missed it, so I had to take the stairs.

Temari Feb 10, 2009 01:02 PM

A little while back, I had a dream where I was on a swing ride at a carnival. And it just kept going round and round, and the only mildly interesting part was that my swing seemed to go way higher than anyone else's on the ride. Round and round.

Sarag Feb 11, 2009 02:02 PM

I dreamt that I bought a chaise lounge and was really stoked about it. It was a nice reddish orange color, corduroy upholstery (I have no idea if that's a good or bad thing but it looked kind of rad). There was stuff on the chaise since I was still cleaning my room.

I later dreamt about T-Pain's hat but that was more interesting.

ziggythecat Feb 11, 2009 11:18 PM

i think i'm going to start writing my dreams down when i can remember them. i found this in an old email that i'd sent to a friend telling him about a dream.

me and chris tucker tried to rob the Grand casino, almost got caught but had some inside assistance, didn't get the money but got taken off by micheal clark duncan and some other dude in a white car full of weed
that was how the tour of national parks and monuments began, some where in the mix, the guys changed to being the 2 hot girls and then it ended

Sarag Feb 20, 2009 11:29 PM

I originally wasn't going to post this but Tails used it as an example of my dreams always being boring. Which has been true lately. :(

I dreamt that i was watching the news and either the dow had plummeted 3000 points in a day, or it was down to 3000 points. I was nonplussed because I have very little in savings.

god help me :(

ExoXile Feb 23, 2009 09:42 AM

Well, I've had a few dreams where I just do every day stuff.
Can't recall too well now since 1. They're dreams, fade easily and 2. They were extremely boring.

But on top of that, not so often anymore but I tend to dream--or I guess it is more of a lucid kind of dreaming than actual dreams.
I tend to half-sleep and dream that I'm doing stuff, i.e. fickeling with my phone or something like that.

Kind of creepy actually.

Don't really know how much more boring a dream could be. :)

Thud. Feb 23, 2009 11:16 AM

I had a dream last night that Mo0 gave me a piggyback ride.

Krelian Feb 24, 2009 08:00 AM

Last night I dreamt that I'd thrown away some beef my brother wanted to cook. Being the sly bastard I am, I ran to the supermarket to search for some replacement beef. I then spent the rest of the dream standing in front of the beef section in the aisle, trying to decide what kind of beef to buy.

Lebo Feb 24, 2009 10:56 AM

I dreamt I was being eaten o_O
But it didn't feel so bad :P

ExoXile Feb 24, 2009 11:05 AM

Don't sound that boring to me!

Lebo Feb 24, 2009 11:07 AM

Nah, you're right xD It wasn't that boring. It was just, being eaten seems like a big deal, but it wasn't in my dream!

ExoXile Feb 24, 2009 11:51 AM

I had a dream a couple of years ago where I was somehow someway immortal.
And every time at the end of the day, or start of the day, can't recall which.
I would get crushed, or impaled rather by a train with bloody freaking huge spikes at the front.

It started off as a nightmare, but ended in boredom and finally almost awesome.
So it had three stages terror/boredom/awesome.

I had a dream the other night where all of my socks had turned pink because I washed them with a red shirt. However, upon going through all of my laundry I couldn't find anything red, so I just sat on the floor completely perplexed as to how it happened.

I didn't even remember the dream until I was putting on my socks that morning and gave a sigh of relief since I found a pair of socks that was white.

Sian Mar 6, 2009 06:13 PM

One time I had a dream I was just in class doing maths...most tedious dream ever.

I too have had the waking up and getting ready to go to Uni or something, then actually waking up and realising I have yet to do it =(. Such a kick in the balls.

Araes Mar 6, 2009 07:26 PM

I've had a long running dream since I was 5 or 6 where I'm running along a big multi-colored ramp (kind of like some Mario Kart tracks) in space with Optimus Prime. It spirals and turns, and we basically run all night, or until the dream switches. When I was young, and the first time I had it, it was pretty awesome, as I was running with Optimus. What little Transformers fan wouldn't like that? But after several years, and having run for leagues, its become highly tedious. Just endless miles with Prime. Its taken on something of a lucid quality, where I'll hear (feel?) myself thinking, "Man this is awful, when's it going to end?" and then eventually segue into another scene.

Although I've been out of school for a bit, I still find myself having the damn dreams where I'm sitting in class working on coursework, and fretting over whether I brought my homework, and when the next project is going to be due.

Timberwolf8889 Mar 6, 2009 07:56 PM

Running with Optimus Prime is not a boring dream...

I always tend to have dreams where I suddenly get a new class schedule, and just continually forget one class and realize at the end of the term I haven't gone to a single class I was supposed to and it just leaves me feeling stressed out when I wake up.

I also used to have a bit in my dream where I'd fall out of the top of a bunk bed and wake up right before I hit the floor. It was weird, it was like it signaled the end of my dreams, my brain would actually become relaxed when I saw it.

elwe Apr 7, 2009 01:07 AM

It was about this one perfume, Eternity. I'm not sure if it even exists, since all I use is my bottle of Oui, and even then, I barely touch it. But that was the name of it--Eternity. all I remember was the dream was in black and white at this beach in Hawaii or another similar place. It was sunset, which I'm not even sure how I knew, since everything was monochromatic, but whatever. Anyways, I remember a lot of the dream was centered around that perfume and something about following its scent. I think I ended up in a supermarket. I don't recall even following any scents, but just talking about it. And I somehow ended up at the supermarket. Lamesauce. D:
My recent dreams have been quite retarded.

Krelian Apr 12, 2009 07:58 PM

A few days ago, I finally got around to buying a new razor to replace the one I lost back in January. That night, I dreamt about shaving, and how much fun it would be with my new sixteen-blade man mower. I remember delicately trimming at a spot on my chin that I couldn't quite do properly for what seemed like an hour, and then feeling amazingly let-down as soon upon finishing the dream-shave.

What the hell. It's like one of those dreams you'd have at the age of six in the run-up to christmas. Being subconsciously excited about shaving is about as CRAZY and WILD as my aspirations get these days.

Funny. I dreamt about using shaving razors as tools for mowing the lawn. =[ It was rather tedious, obviously. We were wearing straw hats, and the razors weren't even grass-cutting-sized. I think the most eventful part of that dream involved me discovering that a cow lived in our backyard.

polecat Apr 14, 2009 11:09 PM

My tooth was really loose, and I was wiggling it. It was at the point where it was connected to my gum by just one of the roots, and I could swing it all around with my tongue, but it wouldn't fall out.

Sarag Apr 15, 2009 11:02 PM

I had two more boring dreams last night.

The first was me blowing my nose. I was happy that I was able to get rid of my congestion.

The second was that there was a neat pile of pineapple rings on the floor by my bed, as if someone upended a can of them on the floor. It was frustrating, because I kept noticing the pile but hadn't yet cleaned it up because I couldn't figure out why they were there.

elwe Apr 16, 2009 12:08 PM

I was gluing stamps to envelopes and then putting each envelope in the sink. When the envelopes got wet, they made quacking noises.

I actually had an interesting one at some point, but I can't remember what happened. I know it involved a flying office chair, though. =[

Sarag Apr 16, 2009 08:30 PM

NO INTERESTING DREAMS. BORING ONLY.

You're LUCKY I let you post that shit about quacking envelopes.

HAHAHA! That is hilarious... How many times do you get that one? Maybe its a sign?

I can't say I have too many recurring dreams anymore. I used to have them a lot when I was younger. Nowadays, I may dream about the same topic (Racing usually) but its a different scenario everytime. Drives me crazy though... I don't dream about it at all from October to mid-February, and then I start dreaming about it every night until about Mid-April....

Scent of a Grundle Apr 17, 2009 01:06 AM

I'm actually dreamed I was playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance once. I fell asleep in the car, and for some reason that was what I dreamed. Not to mention that the intersection we were at when I woke up was the same one as we pulled up to in the dream. I was disoriented for a minute or two because it seemed like my GBA had just disappeared for no good reason and i didn't feel too worried about it.

The game in my dream worked exactly like the real one - I was completely convinced that I was playing the game until I woke up. You'd think I could have at least dreamed about being one of the characters in the game, but i guess that would be too much to ask from my imagination.

wvlfpvp Apr 17, 2009 08:39 AM

On that vein, I say to you: Xenogears. Disc 2. Not only do I have the general shared experience of everyone who has played the game of falling asleep at one point. Oh no. I DREAMED about pressing the button and advancing the text wall.

Scent of a Grundle Apr 17, 2009 10:46 AM

Did the dream text match up with the text in the game? If so that would be awesome - and hilarious

Sarag Apr 21, 2009 08:35 AM

Recently, I dreamt that I wanted to find out my credit history, so I signed up for freecreditreport.com, and then got really mad at myself because they're the ones that charge you for it.

Then I checked it again. Which is terrible for your credit score!

Timberwolf8889 Apr 22, 2009 12:37 PM

Ever had a dream where you wake up, brush your teeth/do your morning routine and just as you're leaving you actually wake up? Had one of those a few days ago...it's horrible, just made me do my morning routine very lazily since I felt I had done it already.

Little Brenty Brent Brent Apr 23, 2009 02:04 PM

Last night I had a dream that involved myself and some friends driving on the highway. We had a whole bunch of baseball gloves and hats to bring with us, and someone decided the best way to transport this cargo would be to line them up on the roof of the car.

As we drove along, of course, one by one they would be blown off the car. Eventually, I convinced the driver to stop and jogged back several miles to pick them up. I anticipated this would be a tedious chore but, after crossing a bridge, I came upon all of them neatly piled by the side of the road.

summonerkai Jun 16, 2009 03:57 PM

A few nights ago I dreamt I was at work and accidentally shortchanged someone fifty cents....epic!

...god my unconscious mind was out of material at the time, wheres a sexy dream when you need one!

Sarag Jun 16, 2009 08:42 PM

About a week back, I had a dream that i was comparing two versions of the same web page. one was including all these new stylesheets, and I was trying to get rid of superfluous or unused declarations.

Try as I might, I couldn't get the new page to match the old one. I checked every element on the page and they all matched, but the new page was just wildly different.

:(

About a month ago, I had a dream where I was just drinking a glass of milk. That's all. It wasn't until I drank it down almost to the bottom that I noticed it was rancid. But, that didn't seem to bother me so much, so I just finished it off, not thinking much of it.

Cheers to dreams coming true. =D

Last night I had a dream where I was standing in a long line to get on the new roller coaster at Six Flags. Just standing there... waiting to get on the ride.

Of course, once I got up to the platform and nearly on the ride itself, I woke up. I was sorely disappointed.

Prime Blue Jul 10, 2009 04:39 AM

Last night I dreamed I lived in a dorm with some guy. He asked me if I had seen his recharge cable. I said "no" and helped him find it. I looked at a table with a telephone with some cables and said "it's not here" to which he replied "guess it's somewhere else then".

Thank you, brain.
