Ragnarok Online

Fresh board, fresh thread!

If you post here, I'm just going to assume you have a working knowledge of the game. If you have no clue what RO is and you're interested in it, then you ought to look at some resources first.

The drill is exactly the same as in the last few incarnations of this thread. You should post the following information:
  • Server Name (include link and rates if it's the first mention)
  • Character Name(s), Build and Level
  • (e.g. Saka | AGI 2HQ Knight | 9x/50)

The thread creator (me) will try to keep levels up to date, but only if you post periodic updates as to the status of your characters. With that said, let's get this thread movin'!

I know PSIblade is 5/5/3.5

But how is the community, how big is it and well is there anything special about the serveR?

I mean I would like to get back into Ragnarok but it's only fun when you have a lot of people you know playing with you and people you can have fun with.

The server is pretty low-population compared to the bigger servers out there. During peak hours the numbers go near ~170, but usually it's no more than 130 or so.

I'm not sure what you might call "special" about the server... each server tries to make itself a unique experience. I'd say the most special thing on PSIBlade is the community. There's a pretty low idiot population, and with the server population being as it is, there's a really close-knit feeling. Most staff members actively play the game too on legit accounts, so they're always connected to the players. Aside from that, it's like any other server, I suppose.

Zio Mar 3, 2006 01:37 AM

Good, I like low idiot population... It's just I hate asking a question to someone whose a high level and get yelled at for being a newb and etc. Yanno?

Eh I may join...

By special, I mean they don't have a warp NPC and etc? Those type of things.

Ekon Mar 3, 2006 01:54 AM

Psiblade

Chidori Kaname | Assassin | 8x/50 (rebirth this time? lool)

Nehmi Mar 3, 2006 01:55 AM

There is a warp portal map, containing most warps to the towns. You can access it from nearly every town. It also contains a portal to PVP which is basically free for all.

Its also nice because the updates are usually ahead of iROs, like right now Thanatos Tower kicks our asses. Fairly good I'd say.

As Nehmi mentioned, there is a "Space Rift" which you can use to warp to most cities within the Rune-Midgard kingdom. You will still need to reach other cities (like Juno, Amatsu, Lighthalzen) the conventional way. The Space Rift, along with 9 character slots per account, is pretty much the only concession to private server junkies. There is no universal jobchanger NPC, meaning you have to do each job change quest as official servers do. No custom headgears or outrageous donation items. No quad-slotted armors or ridiculous junk like that. It's pretty 'official'. The server uses eAthena (some of the staff actually do work for eA, even) so it's way ahead of iRO in terms of updates.

A caveat: PSIBlade doesn't use kRO/Sakray like most servers. It uses its own client, meaning there's a ~1GB file you must download and install before playing.

Zio Mar 3, 2006 11:18 AM

Good, cause I hated the kRO bullshit...

Though I do sigh about the no job changer. I HATED the stupid job change quests. Takes forever, especially the aco/priest one.

Oh well, atleast there is a space rift to get to places so if I do die I can atleast get to the city and get back to the nearby dungeon.

Sakabadger Mar 3, 2006 11:57 AM

Actually, I like the aco/priest jobchange quests. The priest quest is one that I actually consider fun.

Now, the sage test... there's an evil one.

Luceid Mar 4, 2006 09:05 AM

I started playing yesterday. Finally; it's so awesome even if I forgot almost everything. ;_;

PSIBlade.

Shizuru | Archer | 13/1

Lame, I know, but just started.

The sage test is quite possibly the best test in the entire game.

I'm not just saying that because I've gone through it 4 times either. :cow:

Luceid Mar 6, 2006 09:23 AM

Update.

Shizuru | Archer (Future Dancer) | 40/30.

Makenshi Mar 6, 2006 10:39 AM

um hi, as you can see I stole Makenshi's name this time (don't think he'll be back anyways ;_;)
Anyways,

PSIBlade:
Rhapsody - 99/70 Hybrid Gypsy
Angela - 7x/2x Future ME High Priestess
Himemiya - 8x/50 Nub Agi/Dex Hunter
Makenshio - 8x/50 Spear Knight
Iris - 5x/3x OC/DC Blacksmith
Lufia - 7x/4x SW/SG Wizard
Madoushi - 6x/4x Dex Katar Assassin

Theres like 2 more but they are like level 20 ;_;

Kimchi Mar 7, 2006 07:01 PM

I know that I am not suppost to post this, but you guys better look herer first.

http://www.eathena.ws/board/index.php?showtopic=81045

It is introducing new expended classes.

Gunslinger and Ninja. Don't ask me questions, go and look and ask!!! (I quit kRO about 2~5 months ago >_<)

Luceid Mar 9, 2006 01:44 PM

Whenever such classes are added to PSIBlade, a Gunslinger will be created right away. Based on that info, he must be Dex based, like an Archer. As for the looks, the Ninja looks alright, expected it to be more... Ninja. The Gunslinger looks pretty good with the guns and everything. This new classes should make the game more interesting.

Also, my first character is a Dancer, though getting the good items must be pretty hard for what I've gathered in the past few days; gonna make a High Priest with time, and for now, it is only an Aco.

Lacerta Mar 9, 2006 04:11 PM

I figured I'd post my character since I decided to play again for a little while. :cow:

PSIBlade

Karmic Justice | Magnus Exorcismus Priest | Sekrit

I also plan to have a Taekwon side project later that I will probably start on today, maybe.

Sarmoti Mar 9, 2006 05:50 PM

PSIOnline
Sarmoti | Novice(future VitKnight) | 3/2

Sakabadger Mar 10, 2006 09:30 AM

Thread updated (more or less) with characters and all that good stuff.

So, Taekwon is kind of fun... but only if you're a ranker. Otherwise it's an eternity of "UNGH GO INTO THE STANCE". I wonder how people on kRO tolerate that, since there must be hundreds of TKs out there competing for the top spots.

Sarmoti Mar 12, 2006 11:11 AM

Meh, take me off the list.

PSIBlade is WAY to empty for me.

Edit:

EtherealRO [5/5/2] Link
Sarmoti | Novice | 9/6

Clamjouster Mar 12, 2006 12:41 PM

well I am not that active so much, but I will be back in the action soon....

PSIblade RO

Taikobu 7X/4X vit shield paladin "slammer" to make it short heh.

Update I guess.

You didn't like taking a letter to somebody in the desert, then returning to the church? TRY TURNING INTO A SAGE.

In order to become a sage you need to pass a test of ~20 questions, 90% must be correct, then you must create idon'tknowwhat which requires a bunch of items such as 3 of each color herb, 3 different kinds of items which only drop from the seals map, and about another 10 items to make paper.

When I played on EuphRO, it took a whole night to finish that quest. I can't remember their rates though.

Also, 1 gb, saka? I remember an older community called v(alhalla)RO created and coded by Chibi which was along the same lines. If gravity catch them, it'll probably be forced down. If I have some spare time I'll probably check PSIBlade out - I've been trying to find a decent private server for a very long time now.

That's true for most private servers out there, I think. But if Gravity were to actually spend time in making private servers shut down, I think they'd rather be more concerned with a server that has a population of several thousand (like avalonRO) than one with a few hundred.

Elixir Mar 14, 2006 04:19 AM

Well, I don't know.

I'm currently downloading psiblade. I mean, you've attracted the attention of Vasago(Zeekor) and I knew him from vRO which was years ago. vRO didn't reach over 600 at maximum and it was still shut down, so I would be careful.

I've seen a few RO servers been shut down via gravity. Of course the managers of the private servers had to speculate as to whether the emails from gravity were real or not, but they were contacted directly and it was shut down that way. You're not going to want to cough out for a free private server, and the same applies to users in seeking them.

Sakabadger Mar 14, 2006 05:24 AM

Oh lawd, Vasago. I understand he's currently trapped in Canada, haha.

Anyway, insofar as Gravity shutting down the server, I think it's an unlikely event. Sure, it's a possibility, but what can you do about it? It won't help to worry about it, so we might as well just roll with it.

Elixir Mar 14, 2006 06:08 AM

Yeah, Vasago. He was always a great RO player, obtaining millions of zeny within just weeks of playing. He had something like 800 mill on vRO and the rates were the same as psiblade. I had roughly 50 million and even I played too much.

No doubt one of his best friends Saskia is not too far behind.

If gravity ever contact psiblade's admins(I'm understanding that you're one of them, right?) you would need to check the authenticity of the email. Some people end up duping/botting and being banned, then try scare tactics to shut the server down(that is, if they can't ddos it to hell.)

Since psiblade seems pretty uncluttered by brazilians and people, I don't think it will happen. But you should be careful still, as the smaller ones pose as a threat to gravity since they're still growing communities. Taking down the established ones might be a bit harder for them.

I don't like sage so I'll never know... It wasn't so bad to turn the letter in but it took forever as in walk through. And there is a random NPC you turn the letter into. There is three people and it randomly picks one. One of them I had to walk through, it was chalk full of aggro in the forest. I got put odwn by a miniboss of lunatic.

And it wasn't really the aco but most of the others are pathetic. Especially I think the hunter one.

nabhan Mar 14, 2006 07:53 AM

Oh gosh, EuphRO. Euph has to be one of the craziest people I've ever talked to online. Constant drama, gender ambiguity, taking breaks all the time but then becoming a GM on MobRO.

Sakabadger Mar 14, 2006 09:13 AM

Elixir, I think the server's in good hands. Considering that some of the head staff on PSIBlade actually do work for eAthena, I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing when it comes to Gravity, fake e-mails and the like. But eh, enough of that. If it happens, it'll be dealt with.

SO. Any opinions about the new expanded classes (Gunslinger and Ninja)? Gunslinger looks HAWT.

Kimchi Mar 14, 2006 12:55 PM

Heh, I got to play Gunslinger on my friend's account. It was alright, nothing really special. (Shotty was O.K, didn't spread as much as I expected, and Nija was just boring since it was only lvl 40ish.)

But, lets hope none of these P.servers gets this letter

http://i2.tinypic.com/rcss48.jpg

Elixir Mar 15, 2006 04:43 AM

Okay, I'm making a blacksmith on psiblade. Best to start off with a OC/DC smith because I'm going to need it in the long run.

I'm all of about 8 levels. Who feels like tanking me? I can offer basically nothing in return, so if you'd like to take up on this once in a lifetime opportunity, please let me know.

Luceid Mar 15, 2006 06:13 PM

If you provide your character's name and levels, then there might be something that will do it for you. In other words, I can help with my Dancer or TaeKwon.

Elixir Mar 15, 2006 06:24 PM

Dizzy - Level 10 - Blacksmith in progress. Or a novice that isn't a blacksmith, as you kids call it.

Stabbing porings is FUN. But it is also quite boring. Oh well, at least they aren't seals.

Bean Mar 15, 2006 06:57 PM

Might get back into this, depending on the amount of free time I get.

Bean | Vit Spear Knight | 7x/4x

The ninja sprites are rather lame, gunslinger is decent, but they're certainly not as cute as the current sprites in-game. I wish Gravity would work on the current expanded classes first(Soul Linker/Star Gladiator) before tossing us these two. The idea of gunslinger and ninja not being able to job change any further is kind of weird. The classes seem to be like Taekwon Rankers in terms of power.

EDIT: Oh yeah,

Asa Shigure - Taekwon 77/50 (Retired, fucking Zena)
Kaede - 61/46 Acolyte (Going to be uhh some kind of priest, damn TU nerf)
Chidori Kaname - 88/50 (Worthless)

You could say I can help you out, just made a new character that it's in its 20s, like you grown-ups would call it.

I really haven't had much time as of lately. I'm level 12 or something, stabbing eggs. I remember alot about cards/items but not alot about rushing and where the experience is.

Being Prema Taekwon is tough life. You have to keep doing missions so you don't get kicked off from the top 10 ranking. (SO only top 10 TK class gets to become ranker).

Lol, sprites aren't important, it is the skills. Have you read ALL of those skills? And their sprite fits their class perfetly if you ask me. And what would Soul Linker and Star Gladiator become if there was trans class?

Heh, I don't see you complaing about Super Novice. Gun Slinger and Ninjas are just like them, expect their jlvl doesn't reach up to 99. (max 70)

Back to kRO Loki.

Ekon Mar 16, 2006 07:32 PM

Eh, I wasn't complaining about not being able to job change any further, I was just saying I find it weird that they would go from just novice to gunslinger/ninja and not any further. Being Perma Taekwon as been rather easy for me so far on psiblade, amazing what you can take on when you can spam your skills with virtually no sp cost at all.

Kimchi Mar 16, 2006 08:24 PM

Well, for my exprience, it is hella hard being one on kRO. I got kicked off being ranker 2 days later after I became one. Yea... really hard.

Ekon Mar 17, 2006 01:20 AM

Heh I'm still on the list on psiblade, love small servers =p. I was in first for I think 4 days, with Ice being in second.

Kimchi Mar 17, 2006 09:26 PM

Wtf, what's your servers' population, I might go there and show you guys true Prema TK.

When it isn't WoE, the peak is around 120 players online at one time, it's a rather small server. During WoE we near 200.

TK Rank right now
  1. Zena - 75 points
  2. RoLiS - 58 points
  3. Daisuke - 57 points
  4. Toraki - 50 points
  5. Mui Wing Chun - 34 points
  6. Asa Shigure - 31 points
  7. Fei Fong Wong - 27 points
  8. Misuzu - 27 points
  9. Toblerone - 26 points
  10. Girrendour - 26 points

Lacerta Mar 18, 2006 08:50 PM

I like how Toblerone and Girrendour are still on the ranking, how is this possible.

nabhan Mar 18, 2006 09:03 PM

I just downloaded and installed Psiblade. I'm doing a TKD as well, I guess. It's pretty much the only class I haven't tried, and it seems interesting enough to keep me going for a while :tpg:.

Illuminar - 2x/1x TKD

By the end of tonight, it'll hopefully be either 3x or 4x =3

Kimchi Mar 19, 2006 07:54 AM

And build question on TK (it isn't TDK, no non o TDK is WRONG) just message me on msn Nabhan.

And oh, check this out.

(All Acid Demo)
http://i1.tinypic.com/rs795l.jpg

Sakabadger Mar 19, 2006 08:21 AM

I'm pretty sure everyone knows by now that Acid Demonstration (Acid Bomb on iRO) is pretty danged powerful. What I'm more fascinated about is the fact that Korea has a RO monthly magazine ;_;

EDIT: GOOD LORD AT THOSE BLACKSMITH RANKINGS. Whoever that is in first must be some kind of forge MANIAC.

Kimchi Mar 19, 2006 09:45 AM

Lol, but Acid demo are HARD to make expicially on 1/1/1. And not to mention he is MvPing with small party.

Sakabadger Mar 19, 2006 09:52 AM

Whether or not it's easy or difficult wasn't really in contention... besides, an official server, albeit 1/1/1, has lots of other benefits (mostly with the higher population). Also, with an AD Creator, you a hardly need any more than a small party. A priest for lex (who can also tank) and you're good to go!

I like how that creator is 99. Krazy Koreans.

nabhan Mar 19, 2006 10:46 AM

To think I was anticipating the Fire Bomb more when I was an alchemist. Although, my plans for tanking at GH Prison seemed useful at the time >_>

I hate starting. I'm able to support myself from the Novice Potions I got, but I only have 8k and Culvert isn't much of a money mine. Payon is good, but Zombies really hurt and if I keep going at this rate, I'll be depending on Skull Rings.

Meh. RO is on the other computer, so I can't play right now. Getting to 4x (I'm 30 right now) would be nice.

Kimchi Mar 19, 2006 12:35 PM

With Taekwon boy it will be hard, since it is superberly low hp and sp. I would suggest you to stick around in payon, and try payon 2 if you are able to get a small party.

Peter Mar 28, 2006 08:42 AM

Late, as usual, but I started RO last night, and it's pretty addicting, although I can imagine getting bored with it in the long run, since there isn't that much to do.

My info

Enkidu | Dex/Int Mage | 35/25

Lacerta Mar 28, 2006 04:01 PM

The top Blacksmith makes Young look like a Novice ;_;

Kimchi Mar 28, 2006 05:51 PM

Lol... let's just put it that they got lots of V.V.S and V.S and V.V.V.S weapons.

Peter Mar 31, 2006 04:31 AM

Update:

Level 54/41 now. Leveled a lot by beating Metallers and Geographers, but it gets a bit boring for me now. Anyone have a better location?

Luceid Mar 31, 2006 09:01 AM

Enk, I'll tyr to message you online so we can train together or something.

As for a new location, try Louyang. To get there go to Alberta, go directly to the bottom right dock and talk to the girl there, she will take you there. You will be charged 10k to go, but it's worth it. I recommend saving in the town, which happens to be right up from where you appear, commonly called Soils. As for how to kill them, use Fire Wall and Fire Bolt and everything should be cool.

SouthJag Mar 31, 2006 10:21 AM

Hey Luceid, where'd your ava/sig come from?

Now that that's out of the way, I'm thinking of hopping on Anima RO since a.) they're free and b.) they give installation instructions on how to make it free.

Anyone playing on Anima RO or have any other suggestions as to another server? Anima's, I believe, a 5/5/3 server, although I would like something a bit higher.

Sakabadger Mar 31, 2006 03:43 PM

His avatar/sig comes from the official art for Gunslinger (female), which is one of the expanded classes (along with Taekwon Boy/Girl and Ninja).

As for private servers, most people here play on PSIBlade. So, I can't really say that anyone will be able to help you out there... And for the record, there's really no difference in how you install a thing to make it "free." For most servers it's just a matter of using some hexed client which tells it to connect to a certain IP. But, yeah.

Kimchi Mar 31, 2006 04:47 PM

Weee... guys stop being so physicd by gunslinger. They suck badly. How do I know? My friends in Korea has top 100 guilds and going to national tourney I think? Anyways, expended classes aren't used for serious PvP/WoE. (I am not even joking, they suck badly when it comes to PvP/WoE.)

Luceid Mar 31, 2006 04:47 PM

Saka pretty much answered the question, though it would be nice to get the Gunslinger soon. If anyone could provide a link to the official art, it would be very appreciated.

I should update my character info.

Shizuru | Dancer | 6x/3x (pretty useless now ;_; )
Luciferia |Assasin | 8x/50

Generally, people get excited by new classes because they are new. I'm pretty excited, cuz it'll be interesting to play. Not everyone plays with a focus on PvP/WoE, anyway...

You're forgetting one thing.

kRO is a huge mass of good players that devote most of their waking time to playing this game.

PSIBlade is a small gathering of idiots with only a slightly small base of decent players.

What doesn't work on one place may work on another.

Dobby Apr 2, 2006 06:26 PM

Ah, back at it once again!

iRO Sakray
Dobby de Gozaru! - FS High Priest - 92/5x

I feel so left out here lol xD

Kimchi Apr 2, 2006 06:38 PM

/swt Feel left out? I don't even play kRo anymore or any p.servers.

UFOtypeE Apr 9, 2006 06:36 PM

Used to play a Lord Knight on one of the two servers a while back. Man, those were a crazy 10 months.

Has anything changed since then?

Musharraf Apr 10, 2006 02:50 PM

So how many of you guys are still active? I've been playing with Aardark on a private server (ethereal-RO) but it's not really fun if you don't know anyone there.

Kimchi Apr 10, 2006 03:00 PM

I am on uberly high rate with barely any players, it is pretty fun since there is custom crap and fun to mess around. Here's the link. But the server is like ghost server >.>

SouthJag Apr 10, 2006 04:06 PM

Just wanted to post an update -- I'm on PsiBlade with a level 4x/3x Thief. Hybrid until I got Dex and Vit to 25, now focus is on AGI which is nearly 50. Plan to be a double dagger/katar assassin.

Kimchi Apr 10, 2006 05:18 PM

DD sin heh? You better get triple crit jur if you are ever going to use katar as DD sin.

More like he needs a +8 (or higher) Triple Critical Jur for the Katar part. As doe the DD, you'll be hunting shitloads of cards... Skeleton Workers and Peco Peco Egg Cards mainly, to put in 4s Main Gauche (preferably +10) and a +7 3s Gladius.

In other words, being a Sin is not easy. :tpg:

Small update from me:

Shizuru | Dancer |6x/3x (Planning on commiting suicide)
Luciferia | Critical Assassin | 8x/50 | Team RTFO.
Atelier | Wizard | xx/xx | Team RTFO.

Instead of the Dancer, I'm thinking on having a Monk...

Kimchi Apr 11, 2006 12:52 PM

Did you check the link I posted for your "official" gunslinger picture?

Anyways, DD sin was never popular. Hunting cards to lvl up is pretty useles in kRO or any official RO, unless it is for MVP/mini boss. Otherwise go and get some PvP/GvG gears. Since that's where you will be spending most of your time >.>

Sakabadger Apr 11, 2006 08:58 PM

I don't know if it has been stated before, but if so, I'll reiterate the point:

Official servers are irrelevant to private servers. The scope is just totally different, from population size to player strategy. ._.

Lacerta Apr 11, 2006 10:56 PM

Also have to factor in that eAthena sometimes messes up on skills so certain classes are broken or hindered.

Like TK for example: We're allowed to use Spin Kick as ranker and when we attack, and we can chain skills indefinitely.

Our TK is NOTHING like the official TK, and thus it is easily abused.

However we have one awesome administrator who will fix things if we point them out =o

But our strategy is still much different on a scale that is impossible to imagine (Not really, but it is really big). So you honestly cannot keep saying kRO does this or kRO does that, because most of us don't play kRO, so all of those points are moot.

Kimchi Apr 12, 2006 03:13 AM

Sure the size is different. But why wouldn't you able to use same strategy on p.server? (builds, equipments, ect.) Of course it wouldn't be exact, so you have to modify it a little. Other then that I think you are able to use same strategy.

Sakabadger Apr 12, 2006 04:31 AM

Well, of course strategy can carry over. I guess I phrased myself wrong. It's like this:

Quote:

Anyways, DD sin was never popular. Hunting cards to lvl up is pretty useles in kRO or any official RO, unless it is for MVP/mini boss. Otherwise go and get some PvP/GvG gears. Since that's where you will be spending most of your time >.>
Relevant part bolded.

On our server, DD sins are quite effective due to their high damage output, and most of the skilled sins are, in fact, DD. Our endgame doesn't revolve around PvP/WoE either, unless you were in it for that reason to begin with. WoE's just a twice a week occasion and incomparable to the scope of official servers. Likewise, our PvP is generally limited to the same people over and over, so it's pretty useless to specialize in it much.

Well, I dunno. I suppose you get what I am saying.

I think Lace is pretty much right here, and so is Saka. Can't compare a small Private Server to kRO and such, it's just too different in many ways.

SouthJag Apr 12, 2006 10:39 AM

I feel the love. <3 :megaman:

In related news, I was very happy today. I got on this morning just to do a quick 30-minute massacre of Metalings when, on the way down to the Metaling hunting grounds, I encountered plenty of martins. Being the kind of guy I am, I slaughtered them along the way.

Turns out, not only did I get a set of Goggles, but I also got not one, but two 3-slotted Jurs!

Now see, back when I paid to play on the official server, I hunted for days upon weeks for a single 3-slotted Jur, and I never got one. This made my day. <3

You suck. ;_;

Also, be sure to get more Jurs, because upgrades will break your stuff a lot of times. I recommend having a +8 Jur, though others say +9 before slotting any cards in it for better results.

If you get that lucky with Soldier Skeleton Cards, I'll hate you for life. ;_____;

Also, it would be nice to know the name of your character and stuff.

Luceid Apr 15, 2006 08:03 AM

So, let me get this straight. A guy managed to get a +11 thing?

Cool, but I would like to know what it says there. ._.

Kimchi Apr 15, 2006 08:52 AM

You don't need to read it to see if there really IS +11. Just look for "+11".

The article I posted is going on about how +10 was believed to be THE best, but it seems like that someone found out the secret about +11.

Sakabadger Apr 15, 2006 09:23 PM

I claim BS. An article like that without even an accompanying screenshot (which are easily editable anyway) hardly tells us anything. And furthermore, without bothering to provide a translation of some sort or anything doesn't even give us a context.

You make me laugh. No offence Saka. Of course I understand why you don't believe me. (No one would believe these kind of things unless there is actual proof right?) Why would Gravity announce fake crap like this unless they want to put bad image of themselves? Maybe you should tried to ask someone who can read hangul.

Oh I am sorry if I was unclear, of course I can't scan crap like that ,which means I took it from the online magazine.

@Lacerta

Thsi kind of things wouldn't be April fool's joke, I am sorry but it simply isn't.

You make it sound like you know what the heck is going around on kRO. Of course April fools joke on official magazine that doesn't belong to Gravity... hmm and Gravity makes the joke... quiet doesn't makes sense.

Sakabadger Apr 16, 2006 05:04 AM

So where's the translation, then? Since clearly you speak the language and understand what is going around on kRO, you can surely write up a summary of what the article says. Justification to your statements would be nice.

Otherwise, quit your trolling.

Kimchi Apr 16, 2006 06:02 AM

Fine, I will post the retarded translatation since Saka is being little bit pushy today. But when I post the translation, don't go around and give me bullshit like "it is wrong" "it doesn't make any sense".

But before I do it,do you want the tranlation edited on the picture, or just post the thing?

Just type it. ._.

And for somebody's sake, stop being so touchy and sensitive. Like Lace and Saka said, it's possible that it's a joke, but you assure it's not. What, have you seen the +11 thing yourself?

SouthJag Apr 16, 2006 08:17 PM

Changing topic for a moment, or at least deviating from it. Is there a GFF guild on PSiBlade? I joined a guild, buuut it's populated by 15 year old l33t speakers.

Sakabadger Apr 16, 2006 08:21 PM

Most of the GFF members who play on PSIBlade are in a guild, but it's expanded to the point where it's not really a "GFF guild."

It hasn't been updated in a while (my bad) but you can check out Team RTFO. That is the guild most of us are in.

What guild did you join anyway, if I may ask?

SouthJag Apr 16, 2006 08:24 PM

Chaos Legion. The leader, "RandyC," gave me help and when I joined, gave me zeny and a lot of good equips when I was a pathetically low level. It was a gesture of kindness on my behalf to join his guild, but I'm kinda dissatisfied with it now.

Sakabadger Apr 16, 2006 11:01 PM

Well, in times like that, you can do one of the following:

1) Guildhop!

2) Strengthen the guild that you're in.

Sounds like he's been nice to you ;o

SouthJag Apr 16, 2006 11:27 PM

I hate to do it, but.....well, to put it simply, Luceid brib...convinced me to guild hop into Team RTFO, if I'm able to join that is. I looked at the website, and it sounds like Team RTFO is really the guild to be in. There's also the fact that well, I'm familiar with more of Team RTFO than I'll likely ever be with those in Chaos Legion.

And seriously, the abbreviated speech is driving me nuts. The guild is comprised of the very people I wanted to get away from when I paid to play on the official server.

Luceid Apr 21, 2006 05:00 PM

Bribe? I WAS TRYING TO HELP. ;_;

Well, if you join RTFO, that's nice. Otherwise, hope you find a guild that you're happy with. Besides that, feel free to ask for help at any time, I'll be happy to be of your assistance.

SouthJag Apr 21, 2006 10:42 PM

Well I would but....YOU'RE NEVER ONLINE! Y_Y

But okay. I'm really getting into the game now. Closing in ever so slowl on job level 50. I did manage to get a Skeleton card now for one of my 3s. Jurs. Now I just need two more. ; ;

Sakabadger Apr 22, 2006 04:18 AM

Taegeuki, you're so cool. I like how you vacated the thread when asked to deliver.

@SouthJag: Its unfortunately, but Team RTFO is really pretty full at the moment.. it'd take some major shuffling around to fit someone else in, especially since we tend to require a lot of activity at certain times (WoE and the like).

<_<

SouthJag Apr 22, 2006 07:48 AM

You callin' me a slacker?

Just the same though, since I'm at work for 60% of my life and in school for 30%. The remaining 10% combines studying, sleeping, and gaming all in one.

Plain ol' Skeleton card. It's proven to me that a Triple Keen Gladius (?) is stronger than a +5 Damascus, so holla.

Edit: Well, in a random turn of events...I logged in to play and went back to hunting for my remaining two cards. Found 'em in less than 10 minutes apart. Holy cow. @_@

Dobby Apr 22, 2006 06:42 PM

You guys play woe competitively? or relatively competitively?

Reading the history in the wiki's got me kinda hooked to try it out with you guys as well!

Im downloading the client right now, and i can help you guys out if you're short on a class in particular =)

Sakabadger Apr 22, 2006 08:27 PM

Dobby, new players to the server are always welcome :D

As for WoE... currently, we maintain two castles fiercely, with the option for a third left open in case we get bored (on our server, guilds are currently capped to three castles max). I don't think we do WoE super seriously (aka we don't recruit exclusively for WoE and the like) but having two castles means we'll contend with the best of 'em.

As for classes... Priest is always great. We have a few priests in the guild but lately they've been busy. Other than that... bard? Anything people like to play works for us. <_<

EDIT: I should update that wiki sometime

Dobby Apr 23, 2006 12:21 AM

Ah priests, thats gonna be fun. Thats the char I woe as in iRO xD

I was considering either another fs priest. That or a wiz or a dex/int/vit sage/prof as they can get zeny in the server. Priests are always hell to get started on...

If its not too much, can you give me a price check on silk and saint robes, ray cards, slotted gloves, and elunium? That way i can plan out which char to make first based on the supply and demand of the server

Sakabadger Apr 23, 2006 12:28 AM

Bear in mind our server is really pretty small, especially compared to iRO. That said, our economy is also quite underdeveloped, with most of the commerce taking place in the form of trades rather than zeny purchases... anyway.

That said, it would likely be difficult to purchase/trade for a lot of those items you mentioned cuz people are pretty stingy. If you join up with us though, I'm sure we can provide quite a few things (though maybe not up to your standards on iRO). We do have some pretty good resources, I'd say.

Here are some prices I can think of off the top of my head:

Saints Robe[1]: 300k - 500k
Elunium: 30k - 50k
Glove[1]: A few of us have a ton of these, just ask ;o

Lacerta Apr 23, 2006 12:29 AM

Hmmmm.. let's see ~

Saint's Robe about 300k
Silk Robe ... no clue. I don't think I've ever seen anyone sell one >_>
Ray Card.... 10 mil or trade only (mostly trade only)
Slotted Gloves about 2 and a half mil
Elunium seems to be at 40k right now. Just hang out in Juperos for a day and you'll have enough Elunium to break your soul.

Wheee, Dobby playing on psi kind of makes me want to play more ;_;

Sakabadger Apr 23, 2006 12:32 AM

Also just as a reminder (if you are so inclined), the bulk of us hang out in #rtfo @ irc.xelium.net, in case you wanted to swing by. The IRC channel for the server is also located on Xelium (in #psiblade) as well.

Dobby Apr 23, 2006 01:02 AM

I'll be reinstalling mirc later then!

Those prices sound really reasonable, seems basically on par with what I see here. What are the items in demand in the trading world then? Cards as usual?

Quote:

I play on sakray, which gets about 400 or so people on usually (not counting the vendors), 600-700 during woe. Hopefully not too big of a difference!

With regards to items, im just curious in the prices so I can get an idea where to get my characters going. From what you're saying, i'll probably be living off of clocks or prison1 as a mage for a while to get the elu flowing lol.

During peak (WoE) hours the server tends to top off at around ~150 players. During other times, it's anywhere from maybe 50 - 100.

Payon is the main town, more or less, and the place where you're the most likely to find others.

Because we're a smaller server, some of the mobs might be different than what you're used to (due to a custom eA mob pack). So, you may have to expand your leveling strategies a bit...

Quote:

Hay guys ~

So, after more than a year... I feel like playing RO again. ._.

We'll be ~ 6 RL friends playing it, and I was wondering where you guys think we can get the best RO experience nowadays. I've always been playing on iRO and have no experience with private servers.

So what do you think? Paying and getting my old characters back on iRO wouldnt be a problem, but maybe there's actually better options than that ...

For TaeKwon on psiblade all you need is a job level 10 novice, then you go to Payon and speak to the npc just west of the tool dealer and you're instantly a TaeKwon(yeah real lame). Ninja/Gunslinger isn't in yet on psiblade, it might be on the test server but only a few people have access to that.

Taekwon can be extremely strong, though it depends on a few factors (mostly whether or not you're ranked). Not being able to equip a weapon is kind of offset by the fact that you can endow yourself with whatever element you want. As for second class... Soul Linkers aren't really weapons-based anyway. ;o

SouthJag Apr 29, 2006 10:42 PM

Endow myself with whatever element I want? What do you mean, Saka?

Sakabadger Apr 29, 2006 10:49 PM

Why do you message me on AIM then post on the forums? :(

But just in case other people didn't know, the TaeKwon skill 'Warm Wind' can be used to self-endow with one of seven elements (Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Ghost, Holy, Shadow).

Estrea 30/22 swordie atm

ShadowScythe May 14, 2006 09:24 AM

does anyone use the RO on clownphobia?? @_@

niki May 17, 2006 03:36 AM

I'm surprised to see so few people actually pay for the game. I mean, it isnt that expensive and seems so much better that pservs... to me at least. =/

As my Archer levels up, I've been able to visit some of the places that have been added since I stopped playing in 2004. Pleasure of exploration all over again ~

Furby May 23, 2006 01:10 PM

Personally, I p2p because of the fact that I feel that there are more people playing on the P2P server then in Private(at least the ones that I have been on- there never more then 1k people) And I'm a big fan of WOE, so the more people there are, the more guilds there are, the bloodier WOE gets.

I play on Loki and if you need help Niki, i have a couple low lvl chars that can maybe leech or support you.

FurryTyrantSin- 90/50 Sin
FurryMonk- 58/40 Aco/premonk
FurryArrow - 68/30 hunteress
FurryMerch - 32/20 Merchant.

I did play a Private server for a while but I got tired of it because it was like 100/100/100... i hate hunting for items but that's part of the game.. plus I found it hard to find parties there...

niki May 23, 2006 03:07 PM

I already got my Archer at level 63, and I don't want to level too fast because I'm playing 90% of time with real life friends in party mode. But thanks! =)

And yeah, item hunt... I spent all morning on Sunken Ship trying to drop a Whisper or Hydra card and had absolutely nothing. Not even a bandana...

... and then later this evening I enter a map, randomly shoot a pupa and *zing* get the card! One or 2 more drops like this and I'll maybe have my slotted tights on job level 50. ='3

Snowknight May 23, 2006 08:47 PM

I joined PSIBlade again last night. I've been trying to learn all the changes that have been made since I last played.

So far, I have:

Snowknight - Swordsman - 35/25

You know, maybe I can be less crappy this time.

Luceid May 24, 2006 05:08 PM

Sweet Snow, maybe we'll see each other more often. =D

Edit:

I should make a small update here.

Luciferia | Nat. Crit. Assassin | 94/50 | RTFO.

Almost SinX, finally. ='D

Niki, like I said, i have a premnk that can work as a slave if need be. Someone helping you as a slave, always helps when helping to hunt for items

Welcome aboard again, Snow. Mighty curious times you joined us in...

My experience right from the start was with a pserver (MobRO because the #icetron people pestered me (THEN QUIT LIKE A WEEK AFTER I STARTED UGH)) so I guess it's just been natural to me. Perhaps if many of my friends played on iRO I would join up, but since most of them just roam with me on whatever private server we choose, I've felt pretty comfortable with that. It's about the people you play with, right?

I'm not too crazy about WoE or PvP either so there's no need for huge server populations for me. Plus, since going on PSIBlade, being made a GM has granted me some curious experiences.

Ekon May 26, 2006 01:08 PM

Snowknight May 29, 2006 10:18 PM

Ok, small update:

Snowknight - Crusader - 57/22

I've been in two different guilds in the past three days, too >_>
(The second of which was broken, apparently.)
I think I'll begin making a couple characters for the sake of it soon.

Ekon May 30, 2006 01:17 AM

Just get Saka to invite you to RTFO man.

ps What were the two guilds? =o

Luceid May 30, 2006 07:04 PM

Haha, it's not always like that. Better ask Saka about that.

Dear Users,

We regret to inform you that there are currently some problems regarding the Homunculus system, specifically regarding the ability to control, feed and engage in battle with Homunculi. We are aware of this situation and are currently working the remedy the Homunculus system. In the meantime, we strongly urge all Alchemists and Biochemists to use the Vaporize skill to protect your Homunculus for the time being. We deeply apologize for any resulting inconvenience and will work to restore the Homunculus system as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

iRO GM Team
Gravity Interactive, Inc.

gj iRO GM Team, they know nothing about the scripting system of the Homunculus, and thus figured it was a bug. A new patch was released which basically renders your Homunculus... stupid.

But! It breaks them alltogether, allowing you to have fun like this (found this from someone laughing at iRO team):

Duminas Jun 1, 2006 02:02 AM

Hopped on PSIBlade again since Snowknight mentioned it to me. Had to get a second disk and install Windows on that (boo ATA33 ;_; ), but I've been roaming around down in Payon Dungeon 1 recently for level--don't really know of anywhere else, really.

My character is:

Duminas | Acolyte | 18/10

I so need to find a better weapon. Rod +3 isn't really cutting it against Zombies right now.

Furby Jun 1, 2006 02:16 AM

The iRo gms are retards..what can I say.

Duminas Jun 2, 2006 05:16 AM

Aaaaaaaaand a slight update. Acolyte at 38/28 now. Beyond that, has PSIBlade been known to be droppy on occasion? Earlier tonight I got dropped every few minutes for a good half hour--eventually just gave up.

That and the lag killed me in Payon Dungeon 2 twice, but that wasn't quite as big a bother.

Lacerta Jun 2, 2006 10:24 AM

It does seem to be getting unusually laggy as of late, but I dunno about droppy, maybe if it lags that badly.

niki Jun 21, 2006 05:07 AM

Anyone on iRO Loki selling a 2x Boned Gakkung by any chance? <_<

Disembow Jun 21, 2006 10:41 AM

I may come pay a visit back to RO when school fires back up, depending on the answer to two of my questions. First, are there any good/great pure auto-falconers and secondly, are there any decent combo monks or asura combo champs?

Your question can't be solved, you know. It's something you have to find out yourself, because it's quite vague for me.

Furby Jun 22, 2006 11:26 AM

I think he means, builds... Like is there a good set build for those classes.

Dobby Jun 22, 2006 12:35 PM

could be asking about the people, with the general intent to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!

Duminas Jun 23, 2006 12:58 AM

Now a 55/43 Acolyte, and I've got a question.

I've been building for a Priest, but being at this point as an Acolyte (high INT, low everything else) I'm finding myself rather bored, and can't see becoming a Priest helping this much. Can Monks sustain themselves decently, if using, say, the Diamond build?

Priest looks like it'd be more of the same slow healbombing, where Monk looks like it'd be crush kill destroy massacre time; choosing is hard. But to that end, I've also stocked up 50k so I can reset myself if I do decide to go Monk, since I've got a few stray points scattered about.

What's a diamond build?

Priest is best if you intend on gathering a party to support/level with. Solo priest is quite manageable as a TU build, but certainly not as FS. ME might be possible, though it will be hard unless you have some decent equipment.

Duminas Jun 23, 2006 12:41 PM

TU and ME?

And "Diamond build" is one of the ones people have mentioned to me, in that it relies on str and vit rather heavily. Carded chains is what I'm told about it. There's some more info over here.

Bigblah Jun 23, 2006 01:01 PM

TU = Turn Undead. Target one (undead) enemy at a time, has a certain chance to kill them in one hit.

ME = Magnus Exorcimus. Cast it on the ground, has a coverage of somewhere around 5x5 cells. Undead and demon enemies in the area of effect receive a high amount of damage.

Both skills are highly dependent on INT. You probably can switch between both builds without touching your stats -- max out INT and divide the rest between VIT and DEX, whichever suits your style of play better. LUK doesn't seem to have that much of an impact on TU.

Naturally you should start out with TU/FS first. ME should only be attempted once you're higher level (approaching 90 if you're non-transcendent), and have the right equipment (damage reduction, dex, the all-important phen or bloody butterfly card). Also, while a TU build gives you much leeway in distribution of leftover skill points, ME takes up a huge chunk of the skill tree in terms of prerequisites.

Lacerta Jun 23, 2006 01:48 PM

As noted in the link, diamond build is trying to attain the ultimate in Monkhood, by combining all three possible builds into one "Best of the Best" build. It looks good on paper but when it's actually used it falls faster than the Titanic.

Naturally the specialized builds will be better.

Duminas Jun 23, 2006 02:09 PM

That was an interesting analogy. I think I'll go to the TSS one, then. ;_;

Disembow Jun 23, 2006 05:19 PM

Yes, I was asking about the people. I know about 80 possible builds for each character class from playing around a whole lot. I was mainly curious if I was going to be treading into established "Big player" territory or if I would be a relative explorer in that class profession, because if I am I can easily become the best out of them all in that specific zone. If anyone needs me to explain an auto-falconer for clarification feel free to IM me, I have only posted my build before to my old clan before I left for good, and it has not leaked yet =:)

nabhan Jun 23, 2006 05:21 PM

Your Falconer build was awesome. You and Rose used to pwn Niff with that. Speaking of which, whatever happened to him? He stopped coming on MSN after a while.

Woah buddy.

Every class has its relative top dog. It's nice that you have a fair amount of enthusiasm for your builds, but I dunno. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss those who are already at the top. They're there for a reason, after all... relative "skill" level aside, they also have the levels and the equipment to support them.

PSIBlade's a bit different from the MobRO of old. But time will tell, eh!

EDIT: I'm going to try (once again) to maintain the character list. I've updated the PSIBlade players out of memory, so everyone else: you'll have to post again or something. :(

Duminas Jun 24, 2006 05:01 PM

Quick question for anyone who has been an Acolyte before.
At job 46, levelling on Firelocks is getting ridiculously slow, especially due to the Shinobi wandering around that whomp me every so often. Might I ask if anyone knows of a better levelling spot for someone that can pretty much only Healbomb?

I tried Wraiths and Evil Druids in Glast Heim, but the former's a bit of an irritant, and the latter's only 5% for 16k HP. Any pointers would be helpful.

Trying to make it to J50 without ripping my hair out. Thanks. :)

Sakabadger Jun 24, 2006 07:20 PM

Unless you can find someone else to party with (namely a mage or archer class), your options are fairly limited to the spots you already mentioned.

Well, what can I say... job 50 takes some patience. :(

Duminas Jun 24, 2006 07:24 PM

That it seems to. Apparently, though, you've got to hit j50 if you're serious, so I'm trying for it. Only four levels to go, at least.

Bigblah Jun 24, 2006 08:45 PM

Amatsu was much faster when you could still teleport in the first level maze.

At this point, however, you could stock up on some blue herbs/pots (and maybe grab a hide clip from someone) and head down to level two, which is less of a headache.

Duminas Jun 24, 2006 09:40 PM

So I hear. Those Shinobi sure do hurt, though. One hit kills aren't nice. ;_;

As far as Blue Herbs go, do you have any particular suggestion about finding those? I've got a Shimmering Plant that seems to spawn predictably near Geffen (1N, 1W) I go to to get them, and there's a Blue Plant to the west of Geffen itself (1W), but beyond that I've not much.

Now just to avoid the Paper in level 2.

Sakabadger Jun 24, 2006 10:39 PM

The only map I can think of right now is the Yggdrasil Tree, which is located between Umbala and Niflheim, but getting there might not be too easy for an acolyte.

Consider checking a database like roempire (though it's a little out of date at the moment) for maps with a high amount of blue herb spawns.

Also, some monsters (like seals) drop blue herbs quite readily.

Duminas Jun 24, 2006 11:11 PM

And I can kill Seals how? :P
Forgot about ROEmpire, though--I'll go check them out.

By the way, Googling around, I find that people are mentioning J50 bonuses for second-tier classes--this is what happens when you hit J50 in that class, not what happens by reaching J50 upon raising yourself from first-tier to second-tier (Archer->Hunter being an example of what I mean with those terms), is it not? I'm still hitting J50 Acolyte either way, but just thought I'd try to get that one straightened out.

Sakabadger Jun 25, 2006 01:10 AM

I felt it was just worth mentioning that some monsters drop herbs. :(

I'm not 100% sure I understand you, but: first- and second-class jobs have different bonuses for their 50 job levels. For example, the bonuses an archer receives by going to job 50 are different than the bonuses a Hunter receives for hitting job 50 (the hunter loses their archer job bonus stats the instant they jobchange, and must regain job bonuses as a hunter).

Is that what you mean?

Luceid Jun 26, 2006 05:17 PM

I didn't get anything at all. <_<

Changing classes in a drastic way, does anyone know if the Assassin Cross' Meteor Assault is based on Int like Soul Destroyer? I don't wanna reset too many times like I did as a regular Sin. :(

Lacerta Jun 26, 2006 05:42 PM

Meteor Assault is based entirely on strength and weapon attack.
Only things that work (or rather, should) with Meteor Assault:

Zipper Bear - +30 Attack -1 SP per hit
Andre - +20 Attack
The +5 Attack bonus from all size cards.
Incantation Samurai - Ignore Defense, drain 666 HP from you every 10 seconds, disables your HP recovery, drains 999 HP when weapon is removed.
Ice Pick - more damage if target has more def & vit
Moonlight Dagger - +3 sp per hit +10% sp

Supposedly other things like Mailbreaker and what not work, but won't show an emote, but I never bothered to test that so I wouldn't know.

Disembow Jun 27, 2006 05:43 PM

Haven't got around to actually playing, do have it installed and have an account. Go ahead and write me down for PSI without character names, I think I made my account male which means Falconress would sound funny.

Sakabadger Jun 27, 2006 08:10 PM

Writing down players for the sake of putting them down, or including "secret" characters or whatever is like a waste of my time. :/

Random update of sorts with the listings. Most of us are still playing on PSIBlade, so come check it out if you're interested!

Quite a while indeed.

vendere | Merchant | 1x/1x (this too)

Acro-nym Nov 18, 2006 07:57 PM

I'm fairly new to the game, but I was told to put my information here.

I currently only have one character:

Chiln | AGI 2HQ Knight| 7x/4x

Although, at the moment, the build it kind of iffy.

Furby Nov 19, 2006 12:05 AM

I don't think I have ever posted my build here on the boards, but I have been told that mine is pretty unique but good at the sametime..

Str 74(going to 80)
agi 85,
dex 20,
vit 36(going to 40),
luck37(going to 40)
int 1.

No bonuses were added on. Tha's for my sin.

Furby, that's for some kind of pvp/WoE type of sin? STR is a little low otherwise for my tastes :(

I actually wouldn't mind playing some RO again, but when I went to register for PSIBlade, it told me that registration is closed. Is this just a temporary thing, or is registration only open at specific days/times?

Sakabadger Nov 24, 2006 04:23 PM

Registration for PSIBlade is temporarily disabled due to the admin changing hosts.

It should be up again quite soon.

PSIBlade.

Sousuke Nov 26, 2006 12:23 PM

Also, a bit of a random question, but... Where's the best place to download the kRO/kSakray clients? And what's the latest version?

I only ask because the kRO website has that IP thing where you only download with a Korean IP, and I've tried that, and get REALLY slow speeds.

Musashinden Nov 27, 2006 04:19 AM

Try the below link Souske and check us out on ROForever if you didn't try PSIblade as of yet :).

http://sakuraheaven.com/mirrors/

Sakabadger Nov 27, 2006 04:33 PM

Be advised that more and more servers seem to be using their own custom installation client (PSIBlade, for example). These will not function with kRO/Sakray, so make sure you know which type the server you want to play on uses.

Sousuke Nov 27, 2006 07:53 PM

Ohh, that's good to know as well. I couldn't get to the client page because of the registration being down, so I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip.

I'm used to playing on servers that use kRO/sakray as the base client.

Sakabadger Nov 27, 2006 11:06 PM

It's a trade off, really. It's easy to play on a lot of different servers if they use the usual kRO/Sakray/hexed client stuff, but it's also a hassle to have to remember to update kRO/Sakray every once in a while. On the othe rhand, patching is typically quite easy for servers that use their own custom client, but it means you have to download a ~1GB file to play. Ah well.

Musashinden Dec 4, 2006 02:59 AM

I've read the rules Saka and I am kind of confused, is it possible for me to make an entire new thread about The RO Private Server I play on in the MMORPG thread with info. in the topic and links, etc. included in the topic itself?

Sakabadger Dec 4, 2006 03:38 AM

Please, no.

Link your server here and I will take care of it in the topic post.

Musashinden Dec 4, 2006 06:19 AM

I didn't want to post the server info again Saka, so you can check post #200 :D. Thanks bud.

Sakabadger Dec 4, 2006 06:38 AM

Oh, right, I had already added that to the post.

That takes care of that!

Musashinden Dec 5, 2006 06:43 PM

Thanks :D.

LS Dec 7, 2006 10:34 PM

I would like to inform everyone i'm still playing on avalonRO/ExcaliburRO server, its pretty much a high rate server people going online from 100-600 people, pretty fun.

I've never reached 255 so... D= gm'ing work makes it more complicated.

Sakabadger Dec 8, 2006 02:25 AM

Just a heads up: Registration on PSIBlade has been opened again (website was fixed up) BUT BUT BUT! There is a caveat: client downloads are temporarily disabled until the head administrator can work out some issues with the patcher.

So if you want to play, you can go ahead and register an account. But unless you know someone who can provide you the client, I guess that's a problem. :(

Sousuke Dec 8, 2006 02:26 PM

Oh noes! XD

I went ahead and made an account, but I'm stuck client-less. Ah well, I'll just have to wait until the client is back up. Any idea how long, Saka?

Sakabadger Dec 8, 2006 02:27 PM

Unfortunately, no idea. The head admin is taking a vacation. :(

NiktoutRO Highrate Server
BobTheAssassin, SinX all stats maxed at 500, 999/120

I mostly just farm MVPs.

Double Post:
Forgot rates whoops. Rates are 10k/10k/100%

Furby Dec 8, 2006 11:12 PM

Tha's an insane rate... Personally I don't see why people wanna play on a server that has it where you kill one poring and BOOM, you're lvl 50.

The grind is half of the fun to me..

Sakabadger Dec 9, 2006 12:07 AM

High rate servers do have their merits, but I prefer to play on those who keep a "normal" level cap, like 99/70 and 99 for stats (so I can test builds). Unfortunately, these are really few and far in between. :(

LS Dec 9, 2006 12:25 AM

and here i thought 125x/100/75 is high, Anywho one of the best things about highrate servers is getting items, that you normally spend 3-4 days hunting in the official servers, too bad economy of high rate servers is too unstable.

Sakabadger Dec 9, 2006 04:39 PM

Just an update...

The new client for PSIBlade will be completed on Monday at the earliest, so if you would like to play there, please check back at that time.

Dobby Dec 10, 2006 09:21 PM

aha, i knew i'd get a psi update here, I was wondering why the forums there were being emo =(

Sakabadger Dec 10, 2006 10:08 PM

Ragnarok II information

Official Website - contains a trailer, some game info, and 3 BGM samples. The site kind of sucks, though (I couldn't open the trailer at all in Firefox) so...

Trailer Link (right-click and save as)

Sample BGM (by Yoko Kanno!!)

I don't have much an opinion on the trailer itself. I'll have to see it in action before making any judgement. The music, though... wow. If anything I'll download the game just for the BGM folder.

ShadowVlican Dec 11, 2006 09:11 PM

i can't believe they got yoko kanno to compose music for this game....

that's like.... freaking amazing

Cobalt Katze Dec 11, 2006 10:36 PM

Beautiful music :) I made mp3s of those as well haha, so I won't bother uploading them. Thanks :D

Sakabadger Dec 14, 2006 09:21 PM

Just another heads up, the PSIBlade client is once again available for download (to everyone who was waiting for it).

Musashinden Dec 28, 2006 06:08 PM

Still seeking any and all players for ROF :D.

Luceid Jan 8, 2007 09:56 AM

New update on my characters.

Luciferia | Hybrid Assassin Cross | 9x/6x
Teysa | Bow/Weird Stalker | xx/xx
Irisis | High Wizard | 8x/5x

Stalker is so much fun. <3

Sakabadger Sep 14, 2007 01:03 AM

Just thought I should mention...

PSIBlade recently opened up a brand new server: Artemis. Rates are 10/10/5.

If you ever wanted to play on a brand new server, here's your chance.

PSIBlade Online

EDIT: PSIBlade has its own client, so you don't need to download kRO/Sakray. PSI client can be downloaded directly from the website.

Musashinden Oct 19, 2007 07:07 PM

Still seeking new players as well for Ragnarok Online: ROForever :).

SouthJag Dec 14, 2007 02:05 AM

lol bumpz.

Well, I tried to join ROForever, but every time I make a character and try to get in the game, it ends up automatically deleting the character I just made. I try to remake it, and the game sits there and won't let me get into the game.

This server sucks.

Luceid Dec 14, 2007 10:21 AM

Should look for another server perhaps.

SouthJag Dec 14, 2007 01:46 PM

I did. Installed AvalonRO. Rates are around 200x. Made it from novice to lvl 65 Monk in....about 3 hours. :p

Luceid Dec 14, 2007 02:06 PM

High rates, I still don't get what's the fun on that. I mean, personally it's a lack of challenge because everybody can get level 39856234857623875 in a day or two, equipments, cards, everything. Sure, might be fun to test builds and the such, or just to pass the time, but eh, still not convinced by those. I love low rates because you see who are the strong ones and the real challengers in PvP/WoE/Events.

Hope you have fun, though!

SouthJag Dec 14, 2007 02:19 PM

That's really the only reason I'm playing -- just to test out builds I never used before. I played the game a long time ago, but I haven't ever had the chance to play a TaeKwon or hell, even a Monk. So I thought I'd give it a run.

I would've jumped on ROForever with the lower rates but that didn't turn out so well.

SouthJag Jun 25, 2008 09:19 PM

HEAL!

Stopped playing a couple weeks and restarted here a few days ago. If anyone's interested in playing, go download the AvalonRO client and post your name(s) here. I've got 9 characters. :tpg:

However, I've also got a general question. I normally play solo, and right now I'm trying to work my way up to Champion, but it's clear I need to be somewhere else to level faster, even on a high rate server. So, as a solo player, where're the best places to go?

Makenshi Dec 14, 2009 06:31 AM

Super ultra necro at Valaris' request

SymphonicRO (7x/7x/5x)
It inherited many of PSIBlades features like the Space Rift and increasing reset cost with further tweaks like the Pool of Rejuvenation and Monster of the Day. Basically, it's an updated PSIBlade with sensible changes made by the GM team.

So far, the only other GFF member I know that's here is Luceid and obviously Valaris, the head GM, but that has more to do with the fact that I haven't been back here for over a year than anything else.... Anyways, if someone still wants to try this 8 years old game with a facelift, feel free to try SymphonicRO!
