Whoa whoa whoa, anyone wanna grab me Nervous Brickdown and Atari Classics Evolved? I'll give you the sex in return!
|
Oh man, I've been waiting so long for the You Got Served UMD to go down in price!
I might pick up Sega Superstars Tennis on 360 for only $15. That's only $5 less than its normal price, but I'd already been thinking about it anyway. If I can actually find Nervous Brickdown then I might grab it too, but I rarely ever saw it in stores even when it was brand new. I already own everything else worthwhile on the list, but there are a surprising number of good titles there. That's if you can actually find an EB that still has new copies of them, of course. |

Downstream Panic is the only game on the list that strikes my fancy, and that I don't already have. I highly recommend Nervous Brickdown, and if you don't already have Worms Open Warfare 2, shame on you. It the best Worms game since Armageddon, and there's up to 4 players over wifi. Sega Superstars Tennis is definitely worth $15. And don't forget to use this: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...y/GDCoupon.jpg from CheapAssGamer |
We never get sales like that here in Canada :(
Out of that list, I'd like to get Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl or Brave Story on PSP. I have no idea how good BS is though. |

Fun though I'm sure this thread is, anyone want to tell me how it's any different from the other ad-spam threads we get and why I shouldn't delete it and ban Chaotic forever?
|
Maybe because Chaotic did the same thread last year, and 6 current/former mods posted in it (in a positive way)? Lighten up, Shin, it's not like he works for Gamestop; he's just trying to help people out.
|
Fair enough. By the way, I know some great websites where you guys can get cheap viagra...
|
Well, if you needed it Shin. I wouldn't put it past ya.

Something awesome happened to this thread and now it has unhappened and my disappointment is huge

I think what's happened is generally referred to as a difference in editorial opinion. I was shot down by the network. :(
|
Figures only the PS2 version of Godzilla Unleashed on there. The version that had none of the new advertised monsters and played worse then it's predecessor.
Guess I have an excuse to buy Mario and Sonic at the Olympics now. |
I'm gonna try to get Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Def Jam Icon for the PS3 (my friend and I enjoyed it, wtf?) and Odin Sphere. Maybe Soul Calibur 3. If they have Katamari Damacy sealed, I might just grab that to sell on eBay one day when it's rarer.
I think that sounds like a plan. $80 ain't bad, although I wish they'd sell Ninja Gaiden Sigma on sale. :( |
So how does Ace Combat Zero stack up to the rest of the series?

Katamari, Odin Sphere and Monster Hunter Freedom 2 look interesting. I might shell out for AC0 as well if its as good as 5 and 6. (Ace Combatfags, how is it?)
Fifth Element / Starship Toopers for 5 bucks isn't that bad either. Thanks for the coupon nutty. |

Better than 6, equal to 5.
There's some decent stuff on there, but the prices have hardly changed. Wasn't Afterburner 20 bucks BEFORE this sale? |

I'll probably snag a few of these with the Edge Card and employee discount stack rape. If someone can't find something that they really need, let me know. Also, get your GCN and XBOX titles before they get thrown out. Some time in the next few months I expect to walk in to find the district manager had come in and personally destroyed the games. |
Hmmm...
Games I might get include Sega Superstars Tennis (NDS), Sonic Rush (NDS), Sonic Rivals (PSP), and Worms 2 (NDS). I still miss though Circuit City's five dollar deals. THat was TRULY awesome. |
Definitely want to see if I can find/pick up Ace Combat Zero.
I remember it being $17, or something like that, at CC some time ago, but when I went to check, my CC didn't have it in stock. |

I think I might go and try to get Ace Combat: Zero and Odin Sphere. I remember you guys going crazy for them ages ago, and they don't seem to be very easy to find used.
Know if this sale is going to be offered online as well as in local stores? |

Don't forget the SAVER code for free (but long) shipping. |
There's a different sale in Canadian EBs actually. The Gamedays for us is basically a random title that they stock for a day and heavily, heavily discount for JUST that day. Some stuff that's already come up has been shit like Timeshift and so forth, but people on CAG and RFD are saying Metroid Prime 3 and DQ Joker are amongst the 10 and 5 dollar games.
|
Id like to get Timeshift, it got good ratings. Not stellar, but good.
|
Just found there's actually a GS in the same shopping center as this one market I go to, so I stopped by today. They had a lot of copies of a bunch of games, as well as Odin Sphere being mislabeled as $9.99 instead of $19.99. Took that, Ace Combat Zero, and a mediocre looking Pelican wireless PS2 controller (my PS2 controllers are dying a bit since my friends would keep dropping/throwing them). Run up at $50, told the dude they said $10 + $10 + $20, he went "damnit" and marked Odin Sphere down to $10 for me.

Good shit, RR. It's funny, I'm the one who posts this thread and completely forgets that it started yesterday. Gotta check out the Gamestops in my area tomorrow. |
Stopped by this afternoon and picked up Downstream Panic and Sega Genesis Collection, both for PSP. I had no problem using the 10% off coupon. Too bad most of the games are gutted, but it's still clear they got some new stock in just for the sale.
Downstream Panic is just so...perky. It's got the zany atmosphere of Loco Roco coupled with the gameplay of Lemmings. |
I work for Gamestop and I have to say, the deals are great. I picked up Odin's Sphere. Brave Story New Traveler, and Valhalla Knights. It cost me around 60$, the employee discount didn't stack onto it, which was weird.
I do know that there will be certain sales online, but don't know which ones they will be. (honestly last time I was on the Gamestop site, I was pre-ordering/paying off my limited edition Burning Crusade expansion) |
Are any of the Sonic games worth $10? I was asking the employee there if any games were good, but I swear he's never played anything. Oh, also, since I don't have a PS3/360 and probably won't any time soon, is Scarface a good enough clone of GTA to be fun for $10?
|
I can only vouch for Sonic Rush which was a pretty decent game. Probably saved the Sonic series from having a bunch of horrible newer games in a row.
I liked it for the most part. |
Mega Collection's certainly worth $10! Sonic Riders and Heroes are worth shitting on just to make sure others avoid them.
Also yeah, Scarface is pretty rad. |
I'm glad I got the SEGA Genesis Collection at HMV last year. Otherwise I wouldn't have played Phantasy Star IV ^_^ Great game that was.
I asked Secret Squirrel to find me Brave Story New Traveler and he found it for me yesterday. It costs over $40 (with tax) here in Canada, so I got a sweet deal. |
Went by yesterday. Got Mario and Sonic at the Olympics and Viking which I forgot was included in the sale. Didn't seem to have any copies of Odin Sphere though... :(
I also got Army of Two even thought it wasn't on sale, since I wanted it anyhow and was already there spending money. |
I went by today, and as usual left Gamestop disappointed. Both of them had Sega Superstars Tennis (360) marked at $20. When I tried pointing out that the game's price is normally $20 and should be $15 the girl finally agreed to look it up in the computer, got a really confused look on her face, typed quite a bit while obviously having no clue what she was looking at, and finally told me again that it was $20. I might go back tomorrow and pick up the Sega Genesis Collection, though. I wanted to read some reviews to see if there was any difference between the PS2 and PSP versions since the PS2 is on sale for $10.
Had to laugh when I saw one of the Gamestops had 6-7 copies of Odin Sphere. That's 6-7x more copies than they had when it was first released. At least I didn't come home empty-handed. I picked up Harvey Birdman on Wii for $17 at Circuit City. |
I went ahead and bought some DS games I actually didn't own yet (shocking, I know), so I left with Dementium, Nervous Brickdown, and Mario & Sonic (not that great of a game, but at least my sister already has it so we can do more of the multiplayer beyond just the single card stuff).
I may go back and get a few more, and depending on what condition it's in I may go back and get Ace Combat Zero (I thought all the games were going to be gutted, but to my surprise I got all sealed copies). |
Quote:
|
That's how the games were like inside the bin, but when I got to the counter he switched them all for sealed copies. It may have just been for the DS games though, since there was only one copy of each game in the bin as opposed to having 2-3 copies of the games for all the other systems.

So I stopped by and got Katamari Damaci and Odin Sphere today, which makes me awesome mctawsome n' stuff.
HELLOOOOOO Unproductive weekend! |
Updated the list with the Accessories for sale. Screw DS games, I'm planning to get the Wii Remote Charger. :3:
|
I really should've checked the email I got from gamestop. Didn't know they were discounting accessories too. Well, I hope they still have some charge packs kits left for the Wii and 360.
|
Just an FYI, we're about to have a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale this weekend (which apparently starts tomorrow) on the used games and accessories.
I secured a 120GB 360 drive, Infinite Undiscovery, and Valkyria Chronicles. Life is good. |
Might take this opportunity to finish up collecting the whole Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank series for the PS2.
Still need to secure a bigger hard drive and an arcade stick for my 360 as well. :tpg: |
Hey Lukage, or anyone, how much do the 360 Hard Drives go for anyway?
|
The 120 gig units go for $100 used...but last I checked, $180 new. 60's are $100 new and $60 used.
The only price I know for sure is the 120 being $100. I can check again tomorrow morning. |
With that possible news, I might just go for a used one. I suppose they still work just as well as any new one. o__o
|

You do know that was 5 months ago, right? :(
|
A.) No. I didn't notice. I'm dumb. What else is new.
B.) If that price is from anytime in the last 3 years I'd say the same thing with the same level of sarcasm. |
$10 on D2 is still better than $10 towards most other games out there.

Just because I don't buy games when they're brand new doesn't mean I never touch them.
Would you say being able to buy FF3 for $10 is money better spent than on pretty much any other game out there? I mean, as rad as Fallout 3 is supposed to be, I doubt it's six times better than one of the best PC games ever. |
It's probably not better than one of the best PC games ever.
It probably is better than Diablo click click click click click click click click click BAAL RUN SOJ click click click click click click click II. |
