Tomb Raider: Legend
Let this thread be reborn from the ashes of the old Gamingforce.
I am a huge Tomb Raider fan. I own all of the Tomb Raider games, merchandise, movies, music, and so on. I am looking really forward to this game. It's been a long time coming. |
Off to General VHS, as it's also on Xbox, Xbox 360 and PC. =o Personally, I'm quite impressed at just how much bloom lighting they've managed to shove into the game. Move over EA!
|
I havn't really cared about a Tomb Raider game since "The Last Revelation" as they were all ok and below, but i'm really looking forward to this one, it looks very promising
|
It's actually quite good. It has a Prince of Persia: Sands of Time kinda feel. (Not that it's set in the middle east <_<'... That would be silly) I love the platform sections. Lots of swinging, jumping and tackling outrageously large puzzles.
|
I'm just downloading it since official release is on 07.04.2006 so in a 7 days. I want to check it before doing anything so insane as it was with getting TR:AoD.
Played the demo 3-4 times and I'm really impressed about the new engine, graphic, system and game physic. I really can't wait to see the final version. Hope it will be better then last one... |
I'll download this one, because everyone says it "goes back to the roots".
|
I never got to play TR before, but when I saw one of the gameplay vids for Legend, I thought: "Prince of Persia.... SOLD!" The adventuring/platforming sections look like a blast to play. My only concern now is the combat sections. The combat vid that I saw was quite disappointing, and I can't quite put my finger on why. It might be because Lara's pistols seem a tad underpowered or highly inaccurate, making it seem like each enemy takes way too long to kill.
|
Lara Croft's Ass is basically the only thing keeping the series alive.
|
i've played the game for 3 hours on PS2
i think it's a great game, lara is back and her ass yes, it's hypnotic the gameplay is really like Prince Of Persia but the combat system is not as good, luckily there aren't much combats there are a few problems though with the game : little camera problems, framerate going down sometimes on ps2, some gameplay problems in platform sections or auto-aiming in combat, etc... these are all small problems which don't really make it a bad game but i guess reviewers won't give mark higher than 8/10 best parts of the game are the level design, the physics (GREAT!!!) and there is a story (some good action, good puzzles and the you really know what you're doing, why and where you are, unlike TR2 for example where you were just sent into some level with no idea why ?? and what to do...) |
I don't know, I think this belongs back in the Sony Scape forum. As far as I am concerned, it IS still a Playstation game. I have not had the chance to play it yet. I didn't think it had been released yet...
The Last Revelation was an excellent Tomb Raider. Difficult, fun, great story... then... Chronicles and AoD. Now I admit AoD is pretty fun but it doesn't have that classic TR feel to it. As far as the new game getting back to it's roots, well... we'll see. I really hope they did. |
I was very disappointed in AoD, as it was an interesting game with some different gameplay concepts that weren't seen in previous Tomb Raiders, but it totally took the idea of "tomb raiding" and nixed it. I understand that it was supposed to be because Lara was "colder" and stuff, from her experience in Last Revelation, but still.
Now, after the AoD fiasco, when Eidos said they were handing the game from Core to Crystal Dynamics, I was iffy on the subject, but was willing to give it a try. And from what I've seen of Legends, I'm really glad they did give it to Crystal. It does indeed look like it went back to it's roots of raiding tombs and puzzles, then "kill people". The only thing I'm wondering is: does it even mention things from AoD, or is it trying to pretend that game never existed, OR does it mention some of Lara's past exploits, while Crystal tries to fix some of the mess AoD created. |
Waitin' for the Xbox leak so bad.
I like her tits are still the size of Earth. ::720p nips:: |
i hope i can make her jump more decently...
at least the game it is more pop...i don“t wanna play a "she-raziel"---__--- |
What the flying fuck? It's just been announced for Gamecube! Is this PGC's April fools or something?

If it's an April Fool's joke, then it's Edios's joke, or just coincidence. |

"*fap* *fap* *fap* *fap*" Seriously, who bothers with a game for the simple aspect of half naked female characters? It's pointless. Go play Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball or something. |

As I've said before, they focus more on Lara Croft's Ass then the actual game in advertisements. It makes you think they know the game itself is a pile of crap but they're trying to make some sales off of Lara's "teh boobies!". |
More like, a great deal of loser guys. It'd be embarassing to walk into eb and buy Leisure Suit Larry.
I wonder how many people still think there's a nude cheat in Tomb Raider. Spoiler:
|
Played the demo a good couple times, loving it, will def. check retail out. I REALLY love the new engine and her new look.
|
how they play game before 7 of april ????is leak version???
|
Christ, where the hell is the Xbox version.
I sure as hell ain't downloading the PS2 ver. |
I've always liked Tomb Raider because of the tomb-raiding aspect of it. I'm extremely impressed with the game so far. It's already hands-down the best Tomb Raider game period, because of the better controls.
I'm still not too sure what's going on with the story, but I'm guessing it's a continuation of what happened in AoD. If you didn't like Tomb Raider because of the controls, you still aren't going to like it. The control system is considerably improved, but it still needs some work. |
Legend is a complete remake of Tomb Raider...they created an entirely new biography for her, supposedly.

mostly when she came out from a swap or something like that..all wet and without niple!!1 |

Although honestly, I kinda liked Tomb Raider best when it was just Lara. Her assistants are annoying as hell. But I guess it's a small price to pay if you want a good story. |
Ok after 5 hours of game play I can say few things about the game.
Lara in each mission have different outfit! That makes game more realistic and gives more pleasure when you see Lara in night dress riding a bike on the roof =D Game engine was created from the very beginning and we can see it cause it still has some minor bugs that SHOULD be fixed in USA release... or not =P Hope that PC version will have it all patched or fixed. Graphic looks awesome, soft glow makes game more shiny and flashy, explosions are great and Lara look sweet!! Shame that side game objects like car, bike, and other stuff like this are low detail and not so geometric and round like some stuff Lara have =P. Music... sometimes it's great when longer tune appeared but then comes a short music peace that play in lop 15 sec... that can make you MAD!! Plot is like all the TR games. Lara want to get something and she will get it no matter what. This time it's some ancient sword that unlock the door to the other dimension that Lara's mother was trapped long time ago. In each level you can find treasures that will unlock certent things at the end of the level like arts, outfits and other things like that =) Crofts Manor is place where you cas spend some time looking around and having fun. You can change outfits there. Levels are long and interesting with many traps, puzzle and actions. Boss fights are rather easy as long as you find a way that creator chose to kill the enemie. So here comes my first question to people who are playing the game. Spoiler:
|
This game it's incredible, this is the best Tomb Raider after Tomb Raider 1,also Last Revelation was very good but still the same things.
This is what Tomb Raider saga needed when Angel Of Darkness was released or maybe before with Chronicles. |

Spoiler:
I still love the game, although it's far to short. The Xbox version is mighty great looking, though. I love the fact that Lara's clothes gets darker when wet. Those tiny details :dopey_love: |

When this game was announced I rolled my eyes. TR has been dead to me since 2 and I had no hopes for this game. However after beating God of War, I'm really in the mood for an exploration/adventure game. Now I'm hearing that this is the best Tomb Raider ever? And judging by the animation in the videos, the controls are fixed. I'm almost sold, however I'm also hearing that it's a short game. Does it have good replay value? If it's worth replaying a couple of times, then I might get it.
Also, can you unlock all these outfits to play as whenever you want, or are her cloths level specific only? http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/6...fits7va.th.jpg Red dress and bikini ftw. |
Shame that most of them is only color change =( I got most of them and I have to say that I only use Night Ripper =P.

When people are mentioning the main characters' change of outfit as one of the positive aspects of a game, you know there is something wrong.
|
The news that Crystal Dynamics were given the job was pretty exciting. Back then in the PS1 era I had already pictured a TR that felt and played like Soul Reaver. Same distributor, different studio. But it just didn't happen and somewhere during TR3 I lost interest in Lara's exploits (all puns intended).
Well, I just watched a trailer, heard several people say it controls like the recent Prince Of Persia games - good times, can't wait to try the demo. |
I just finish the game and even if it was a little short, wow this game was so much fun! I really think that this is the game that will revive the series. the story was so great and the last cut-scene ; ;
end game spoiler: Spoiler:

anyone know how to get the white bikini?
My japan speed-run is bugged. I finnish it but i dont unlick the laced goth outfit :( |
Don't want to go in details but suffice it to say that TRL >>> POP and GOW.
What makes it cooler than others is Physics based puzzles that are logical and gridless. Even, the puzzles are better than ICO. Thanks for costume pics , damn i want them all. I wonder why no gameshark codes released yet. |
lolol i hear the ico fans coming.
|
I am HUGE fan of ICO too , but critically TRL has got upper hand 'cause opening boundaries of Physics(that worked really well in the game).
