Unzip your pantaloons, here comes Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor
I was just browsing everyone's favorite clown school blog GoNintendo when.. VERY LARGE JPEG's from the latest Famitsu.
Spoiler:
According to Court-Records.. Quote:

Saw this at /v/, it looks like proper pointan clickan, complete with halious lucasarts quality walking animation sprite and mouth movement (I HOPE)!
|
Looks cool. I am guessing the story is before the Phoenix Wright one given that
Spoiler:
|
If they're going all the way to a point-and-click investigation interface, they really need some gratuitous Lucasarts references in there. C'mon, Edgeworth trying to interview the insurance salesman from Monkey Island would be a barrel of laughs.
|
So it looks like they did want to go with the original concept of GS for NGNS then, pointan clickan adventure.
I wonder what kind of antics Turnabout Prosecutor will bring about. Edgey + Gumshoe = Win. |
Very exciting news indeed. More courtroom antics? Awesome. Of course, I'm one of those crazed fan peoples...
|
It's about freakin' time someone took the pointiness of the DS's interface and made a pointan-click adventure.
Miles Edgeworth is more of an anti-hero if you ask me, but so were some of the best pointan-click characters: Guybrush Threepwood, Bernard Bernoulli, Larry Laffer, etc. It's unlikely, yet somehow a perfect fit for the genre. I smell potential. |

Also, fuck Edgeworth. This should be Gumshoe's game. |
Looks like a spinoff. Wooo~
Now this is the chance to be able to kick Phoenix's ass as a douchebag! Definitely hope to see this show up at the states soon (yet no date for Japan release...hmm) Though, I was expecting Gyakuten Saiban 5 |

Just sayin'. |
Props for the screens.
I cannot wait to hear more about this. |
My sister said she would never get one of these games unless she could play as Edgeworth, and even though

You know you want it. |

Interesting, it looks like part of the game is drawing the correct conclusions from the clues you find. I dig - I'd prefer the investigation segments actually be part of the game, rather than speed bumps to the fun courtroom segments.

I totally predicted that the game was about Edgeworth, but I didn't expect an honest-to-God point-and-click adventure game. The only thing that's sort of weird... How come the walking around bits are on the top screen? Wouldn't it make more sense to use the stylus as a... well, point-and-click device? Anyway, this is awesome. Edgie running sprite = best thing of 2008 |
HOLD IT!
Spoiler:
There should be another spinoff- Winston Payne: Pro Prosecutor |

Anyway...Recall, there really needs to be another Defendance Attourney to face off aside from Phoenix. |

It's a tradition to give you a lightweight opponent for the introductory case anyway, so surely they'd want to invent someone to be the Worst Defense Attorney in the World. |

These sorts of games never really interested me, but maybe that's because I didn't really take the time to read into them. (Some crime dramas on TV for example never really interested me at first either, but then I came to like them over time.) Well, then again, I didn't have a DS when the Phoenix Wright stuff first started coming out either, but now that I do, hmm... |
Kind of a sucky subtitle (Perfect Prosecutor) but this looks awesome enough to counterbalance that. <3 I'm so looking forward to this game. Also screw Guybrush Threepwood. We wants Spark Brushel very much, yes?
This screenshot with Edgeworth, Oldbag and...Dolphin houses some awesome artwork: Spoiler:

New video clip! Awesome music, but not too much 'new' is really revealed. A few scenes is all. I wish I understood Japanese so I knew what was going on.

DAMON GANT: ACE BADASS THE ENTIRE GAME IS COMPRISED OF YOU PUNCHING OLD PEOPLE IN THE FACE, KICKING PREGNANT WOMEN DOWN STAIRS, FEEDING OFF OF ABORTED FETUS' AND SWIMMING. |
Finally, an English trailer has been released for Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
Captivate 09: Prosecutor Trailer |
Finally~
So it's all Adventure, none'a that courtroom action? D'aww. |
There is going to be like an explosion of PW porn after this game is released.
I AM EXCITED OF COURSE |
HOLY BUTTSHIT
The music is so awesome. SO AWESOME. HUZZAH SIR MY FINGER WAG FUCK YES YOU ARE WAY BETTER THAN APOLLO |
Just started playing this last night as well.
This game is pretty great so far. I'm definitely enjoying how different this is in comparison to the other entries in the series. |
And yet the courtroom style elements are still there. I'm really enjoying this game - i've been trying not to just play through it really fast but i'm already up to the last case. As i said in my journal entry, the degree to which this game references its predecessors walks the line between awesome and disgusting, and in my opinion, teetering before falling on the awesome side.

I bought this game just the other day. It never came out on its release date because some of the provinces were celebrating Family Day which delayed some of the shipments of the game.
I'm enjoying the game, just as much as the other games of the Ace Attorney series. There are new gimmicks just like each addition to the series. Its nothing revolutionary, but you know as long as it keeps the same solid gameplay I'm still going to love playing those games. I'm almost finished the second case right now. I like seeing some of the old characters come back, and I hope the rest of the cases are still enjoyable, but I'm sure they will be. |
Just started today (up to case two) and hahaha, oh man

Cammy is ultimate moe. Spoiler:

While watching Nintendo's DS lineup on Gametrailers from their recent press conference, near the end of the lineup was a sequel to this series slated for 2011 in Japan. Yep, no idea what they'll call it here but AAI: Miles Edgeworth 2 is on the way. :)
