What car do you drive?

I was wondering what kind of cars people drive on this forum?

I myself, drive a red 92 Geo Storm, this car is my baby. I bought it for 200$. I have done sooo much work on it to get it back on the road. It's pretty much the only thing I care about, lol.

Does anyone else have a car they love so much?

1993 Infiniti G20. It used to be in IMMACULATE shape when I bought it but recently it's been through a hell of a slump since my sister (due to a simple lack of knowing how to check a fucking dipstick) ruined both her's and her husband's cars and hence have resorted to "borrowing" my car as they see fit. It recently took a shit with its newfound adopted owners and that cost me quite a bit to fix.

But seriously? Despite all the punishment it's endured through mine and my sibling figure's driving and my constant maintenance of the car (like all proper cars should have) it's still running like a champ and has thus has been far more reliable and faithful than my last five ex-girlfriends combined. THAT says something, people.

2006 Nissan Altima 3.5, beige. It's pretty good but I know nothing about cars so there's not much for work and such.

Justin Dec 18, 2007 11:04 PM

That G20 is a nice car! When did you buy it?

oh and here is the pic of mine...it's blurred though, lol

99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Bought it just this past May. It was an upgrade from my stick Saturn SL. I threw a good 20,000 miles on the truck since I bought it. =D

It's a pretty neat truck vehicle, as far as vehicles go. I am grateful for the 4WD in the snow.

I prefer beat-arounds, though. Something I can bang up and run into the ground. I had a 92 Chevy S-10 a couple of years ago. That was my all-time favorite. ;_;

A white 2002 Toyota Corolla CE. The thing I hate about it that everything except the transition, I have to do manually. I gotta move the mirrors, unlock the doors myself... Kills me, but hell, it's a car to drive.

I drive a 2004 Suzuki Verona. I bought it used in 2005, and the dealer was trying to clear the lot for their expanded line of new models opening the following month, so I was offered a great deal: $12,000. It came fully-loaded with less than 10K miles and all warranties intact. So far it's been great and the heated seats are especially nice on these winter days.

That one's not mine, but it's amazingly the exact same color as mine. So just imagine that one is mine.

Such an awesomely fun car to drive. Got it for $2000 with only 100k miles on it, which is a steal. I'm saving up to get it repainted though. Can't decide if I want to keep the same color (it's unique!) or go something else.

mortis Dec 19, 2007 01:17 AM

A 95 Century Buick which was more or less given to me when my Grandmother was not allowed to drive anymore. It is a really nice car. Actually, it liked it because it simpily had AC on it (my previous car did not). The fact that it also had automatic windows and automatic locking doors among other things were noveties.

I'd still take one, even without the speed.

Agreed, but they also have less headroom, and at 6'5", I sort of need that.

I drive a 97 Chevy Lumina--Blue.

I've had it for 2 years now, and I love the thing. Engine is quiet as hell--unlike my Nova I used to have. That sounded like an airplane warming up....

It's not THAT nice but it serves its purpose on all cylinders. I bought it in 2002 right after I wrecked a 1993 Nissan Sentra that I bought when I was still in college (2001). That car had 545,000 miles on it and I bought if from an impound lot for $400. The G20 was $4000 and I paid it off in 8 month and it has over 200,000 miles on it now. If it makes it to 500,000 I'll die a happy man.

The_Griffin Dec 19, 2007 05:05 AM

I drive a '95 Honda Civic EX. Got it 2 years ago for 4,500 (dealer listed at 5,000). It's served me damn well. I got it at around 120K miles, and have it up to 164K (delivery job adds in a LOT of mileage :(). Automatic windows/locks, auto transmission, etc.

A 1993 Honda Accord SE. She has done me very well. 250,000 miles and still going.

(I don't know why I just called her 'her'...... my car has no name and as far as I know no sex as well.) :)

Drex Dec 19, 2007 01:35 PM

A 2006 Toyota Corolla, gold. The go-kart-ness and good gas mileage won me over, although it could use some more weight during the icy Utah winters. \:

One day I will own a hybrid. Oh yes.

Justin Dec 19, 2007 07:46 PM

ew, hybrid's.... I don't know why I don't like em, but I just don't, lol. I find them ridiculous

1991 Mazda 323, my first car I will give it that much credit, but there isnt anything else appealing. At 135,000 miles there is virtually no heat (winter, burrrrr) passenger door wont close properly, brakes suck (too much travel), handling sucks, rear passenger shock is practically gone. I could spend a day telling the imperfections of this vehicle, but I guess I will leave it that.

damn, you all have such nice cars I will probably never be able to afford.

Yeldarb Dec 19, 2007 08:40 PM

I drive a 2002 White Ford Escape. Gas mileage isn't that great with a V6 engine, and whenever I drive at 35 mph it feels like 45. So it can be a little weird to drive, but I like it. With ~64,000 it's still in relatively good condition.

Lizardcommando Dec 19, 2007 08:43 PM

I drive a 1991 black Honda Accord. It's kinda beat up and it was broken into twice, but it still runs and that's all that matters to me.

Arainach Dec 19, 2007 10:57 PM

1998 Saturn SL, Dark Green. Manual Everything (steering, transmission, no ABS, you name it). Air Conditioning and Aftermarket CD player are the only features, but I've kept up the maintenance and it drives nice enough, so it should continue lasting me through the rest of college.

Miles Dec 19, 2007 10:59 PM

A super awesome 2005 Honda S2000. Got it over the summer for a really good deal. I'm pretty good at causing the car dealers to bow before me and give me what I want. It has about 12,000 miles on it now and I often feel like I'm dreaming when I drive it. It drives so smoothly. I'll take any girl for a ride provided they're small enough to actually fit in the seat. :3:

I also have a 03 Saturn Ion but I mostly drive that when commuting to work due to the better gas mileage and extra room for carrying heavy computer equipment around.

Justin Dec 19, 2007 11:10 PM

S2000! I've always wanted one of those baby's.
I guess it's the car that decides what girl is good for you, lol.

AtomicDuck Dec 19, 2007 11:12 PM

I have a '94 Honda Civic DX. It's especially a nice car because I live in Ohio but have a lot of family in Michigan and New Hampshire, and since I hate flying a reliable, comfortable car with good gas mileage is a must and it's more than satisfactory on all three of those areas. It's only died on me once and that was because I neglected it's gas tank, and to this day it hasn't needed a single major repair. But it also has freakishly low mileage for it's age, it's just been driven barely over 86k miles. Aside from a few long-distance drives, the longest between between Cleveland and San Diego, it's hardly been taken outside of town.
It's definitely a car I'd recommend for anyone looking for a small car. The only complaint I have is the size, but I also come from a family that loves it's trucks. Really, for a small car the thing is huge inside.

war Dec 20, 2007 08:34 AM

I drive a 99 Chevy Cal. 4 door. Got 156 thousand miles on it. Only major work was replacing the shift cable [car's gears] for over $100 bucks not to mention labor work.

She's a Champange color and very dependable transport [from point A to point B]

My all time fave was a '74 Volvo baby blue color with skyroof and poke out back windows[2-door]. Slow but fun to cruz in.

1997 Mercury Mountaineer.

I really quite like it overall. My only complaint is the terrible gas mileage. I'll have to buy another car as soon as I have enough money saved up.

Marina Dec 20, 2007 11:08 AM

My dirt covered navy Toyota Corolla, automatic.
It's really great on minimal oil consuming, I only have to fill it only once a month. :D
I feel sorry for it since I didn't clean it 5 months already.:p

Stock pic. Not actually mine, but very close. Mine's actually a 2-door.

I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier, the 'Sport' version, complete with sun roof and mini-spoiler (for those who want to make a *small* statement). Not a lot of miles on it, but it's very reliable and a nice ride, unless you happen to be in the back, in which case you have to use some contortionist moves just to get out of the car. It's my second car ever, the first being a '94 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight that I replaced several years ago. After buying my Cavalier, I now only want small cars - they're just so easy to drive and park.

Token Dec 20, 2007 01:27 PM

Good gas mileage is ridiculous? I'm lost.

I've had my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid for 2 1/2 years now, and I'm very happy with it. 40MPG average (more on trips when I'm on the open highway). I don't care for the design of the 2006 and later, but I'll still get another hybrid when I get my next car.

And yet you completely ignore the fact that the process of making the lead batteries that are used in hybrid vehicles are as bad as car exhaust.

And that you also believe the gas mileage that they give you. Fun Fact: The standards for determining gas mileage is very lax and inaccurate to real world usage. You'll get that posted gas mileage if you don't want heating in the winter, A/C in the summer, never listen to the radio, never use/get power windows, never use/get power steering or any other "luxuries" that use electricity (which is a lot of things in a vehicle. In reality, hybrids only perform slightly better than their gas-only counterparts.

I drive my parent's 2008 Subaru Impreza. Its not bad by any stretch.

Garret Dec 20, 2007 09:46 PM

2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0s.
Gives me what I want, a nice ride and good gas mileage. 40+mpg (5.6litres/100km) on the highway comes in handy when you travel 50km each way to work.

AtomicDuck Dec 20, 2007 11:37 PM

Personally, I think until we get a good replacement to fossil fuels diesel would be a better route to go than hybrids. Diesel engines are more efficient than unleaded gas engines, and to my knowledge they're much cheaper to fix and maintain than hybrids.

I've got a 98 Nissan Altima. I bought it in 2005 for...$4000, I believe at a used car lot. It runs pretty good. It's burgandy...ish with a silver passenger door (had to buy a new door as a result of an early accident). I'm not really huge into cars besides aesthetic reasons, and this one suits me fine.

Takes me about $40 in Jersey to fill the tank.

I used to drive a two-door 2004 Ford Focus from Sophomore-Senior year of high school that I bought myself. Once I got complete access to a fund my parents had set up for me, I got the car I've always wanted which is what I drive now. I sold the Focus since I didn't have an attachment to it like some people have with their first cars.

No I don't race or do any of that junk. I got it because I like the way it looks. I don't care much for horsepower or any of that car stuff.

Garret Jan 8, 2008 02:36 AM

I was really close to buying a 350z instead of my Sentra. Even test drove it a few times and was really wrestling over the idea. Eventually common sense won out and I decided a House was more important.

That and I know I would be way too meticulous with the upkeep, I would probably cry when the first rock chip would appear.

Beautiful car though.

priji Mar 28, 2008 06:33 AM

Maruti Alto is a good fuel efficient car. Fuel consumption directly depends upon the car maintenance, driver and driving habits. From a five years old Alto Vxi (1100 cc) I take over 17 kms without AC and around 15 kms with AC on city roads.

The Wise Vivi Mar 29, 2008 01:54 AM

Although I don't own a vehicle per se, at home, we have a 1992 Chevy 1/2 ton, 2006 Toyota Matrix, and a 1992 Dodge Spirit. We used to have a 1998 Dodge Caravan, but the motor blew a couple months ago. Nothing fancy like you other guys on here. ;)

My dad owns a 1939 Ford Sedan Deluxe Edition (Street Rodded) however.

The Rock Mar 30, 2008 05:48 PM

I'm currently driving a red 1997 Toyota Corolla. It has pretty good gas mileage. Plan on buying another car very soon though since my sister just got her driver's license and she's going to be taking the 97 Corolla. Probably will buy the new Honda Civic or Accord.

Jaybøt Mar 31, 2008 04:09 PM

I've had three cars in a matter of 2 years, lol.

The first car my parents bought me was a 2006 BMW 238i Coupe, totaled it on the freeway, very very sad day.

The second car I got (1 month later) was a 2006 Lexus LS, some dumb drunk bitch hit me and totaled that too, I seem to have such good luck?

The third, and final car that I am currently driving (over a year strong now!) Is the BMW M6 Coupe, which I love.
