Horrible Spring Weather
 

Ok, so I live in Hawaii and we just went through some really bad weather, like I'm talking massive rain...

Along with this, half of my island, Oahu, was flooded and it seems that elsewhere, there is also crazy weather.

Anyone else in a place with extreme spring weather?

We had snow about 2 weeks ago, round about 10th March, it was nothing compared to the snow that Scotland though.

Not had anything like massive rain or snow but it has been generally fucking cold. I would appreciate it if the temperature went up a few degrees, that's for sure.

Eight years here and the Philippine heat is still killing me! Imagine staying in a sauna where you sweat when you walk out the door, suffocate in any public transpo while the dude next to you reeks of fishy body odor. I'm so fed up with this hot, hot and hotter season-Snow sounds good to me anyday.

Sounds like Georgia during the summer, only the people smell like beer instead of fish.

I hope the cold weather lasts as long as possible.

It was 80+ degrees 2 weekens ago (technically still winter). Two weeks later (now spring), it's in the low-20s and even the teens in some places, including wind chill. Welcome to Maryland. What the fuck. Hi spring break.

I'm in the same boat as those who aren't experiencing torrential rains and blizzards, but are having a rather miserable spring. I was hoping to get out some this week for a little outdoor exercise, but it's been too damn cold. What fantastic timing, too, being Spring Break and all... Next week's looking splendid, though. We'll see how that goes.

I hate cold weather with a fucking passion, so it'll be nice when it's over for a few months.

You don't want to shovel snow and watch continuous rain slide be here. It's depressing to watch.

It's still raining here, and there was a thunderstorm a few days ago. Today wasn't as bad, but apparently it's supposed to rain on Friday again.

Today is March 22nd. It is 2 days after the official start of Spring.

It snowed this morning and is something around 40 degrees Fahrenheit...

In my region, we've just experienced a shift towards colder weather. It hasn't snowed and nothing's gotten frozen, but that might come. The highs are in the fifties and the lows are in the thirties. It isn't horrible weather, but it is unusual.

It snowed yesterday morning. Nothing serious, but not the way Spring should start.

You're probably right, but I grew up in countries with 4 seasons and extremes in weather (try desert winds; can't sweat at all) Watching the people here wear jackets in 90 degrees of nothing but sun makes me question their sanity. As for shoveling snow, if there ever was snow ...*sigh*... well, that's what my little bro's for.:edgarrock:

I had snow in NY today. It sucks so bad. I just want this winter to be over with.

i live in St.Louis and the weather's crazy. one day it'll be sunny and 60 and the next day it'll be freezing rain and snowing and all that stuff. right now it's snowy from yesterday (it was warm and sunny monday) and it's melting and we got a tornado warning a few days ago. i get alot of tornado warnings around here

On Vancouver Island, we got a small dump of snow a few weeks ago. It has been pretty much a years worth of seasons in the weeks following that. We've had wind, rain, and a few hours later it will be beautiful and sunny out.

It was definitely high 70s around where I live - shorts and t-shirts, going to the beach, etc. Now it's just cold...why won't this winter end!!

It's cold here too, with little sign of improvement. If the sun would just come out for a couple of days and take the snow from my front yard, i am sure that would put me in a much better mindset.

It's been really cold here as well. The wind was blowing hard earlier, which made things worse. I hope it warms up soon!

My bf just told me that it was hailing in Las Vegas, NV and that it's been pretty cold there

I like how humans try to categorize nature by deeming March 20th as the First of Spring so therefore Spring-like weather MUST COMMENCE.

It's Spring to me when it stops raining. Which is hasn't yet, we may go straight into Summer without stopping at Spring.

Spring rain and Winter rain are two different animals. Spring rain does not come at you sideways and rip your umbrella upside down at 10000 MPH.

Same island as you. Hurray for more rain tonight...apparently it's going to be worse than the rain we got around 1 AM.

The seasons' start and finish dates were dictated by the weather to begin with, so the categorization holds water rather well.

The whole point of this topic is how the categorization is not holding well at all.

And obviously seasons are dictated by the weather, I'm not sure how humans would have managed to pull that out of their ass without it. I'm just not sure the 20th of March is going to be the exact date for Spring. There's a rough estimate in the pattern of seasons but it's hardly exact, humans just decided that at one point in time to make it seem as if we had a grasp on nature. Which we obviously don't, otherwise there wouldn't be hurricanes well into December when the end of the "season" was November. Or snow storms when dammit, it's Spring.

Nature is pretty much a bunch of weather discrepancies. The natural world isn't by the book and it's not something that can be prevented or regulated. Just because man observed some sort of loose pattern for a few hundred years doesn't make it the fact of the Earth.

Coupled that we're dumping tons of carbon and CO2 into the atmosphere on a daily basis, the weather is now as unpredictable as ever. Hell even without human intervention, the planet was hit with an Ice Age every so often.

This is the most rain I seen in Hawaii on the Leeward side of the island in forevers.

Heh, it's crazy. I live right next to a canal, it looks freakish. Kids love to go down there to play...parents should keep closer eyes on them. But, uh, tornado warning for Maui and Lana`i O.o

I live in fuckin seattle, people complain about England having a shitty rainy weather. Well I think Seattle beats England in a shitty weather contest. Only time I've ever seen it being sunny for an entire week straight was back in 2002.
