Oversalt a Burger, Get Arrested
The Associated Press: Oversalted Burger Leads to Charges

Wait wait wait...she got arrested for a salty burger?
I say this cop was bored with giving speeding tickets and wanted something to spice up his afternoon with. |
She passed it up the chain of command. Apparently her supervisor didn't find anything wrong with it, why didn't anything happen to him? On the other hand, the article's so brief and it's McDonald's, she really could be at fault.
|
He got arrested for as-salt-ing that cop's burger.

Having worked in the restaurant business for awhile, I can tell you guys that salt should be the least of anyone's fears. Things like this happen all the time. If you want my opinion, its cops fault he went to mcdonalds. People get sick from eating McDonalds all the time. He acts as if he was in 5 star dining room. |

Seriously, salt is the last thing a customer ever ask to remove from a burger. Hell they removed the lettuce more than the burger than the salt that comes along on it, or perhaps they don't even know that a burger even comes salted? :/ |

This is madness!
Seriously tho, what kind of a world do we live in where pimply teenagers are arrested for slacking off at work? |
Ah, yes, the joys of McDonald's.....
I once worked there and had this drummed into me: "If YOU wouldn't eat it, then don't serve it." I also had THIS drummed into me: "Only managers can determine if food should be thrown out." So, who is at fault? The manager. Once salt is added to the meat, it is grabbed by the grease in the patty. There's no "thumping" the salt off the burger itself. That meat should NEVER have been served, and the employee should never have gotten into trouble. This isn't McDonald's logic. This is common sense. |

Mayor McCheese held a press conference to state that all resources were being deployed to find the main suspect in the disappearing evidence, The Hamburglar. |

I bet someone ate the evidence. Some forensics dude is gonna come out and be all, "Hey, I'm sorry. I was hungry." |
An employee follows standard protocol in regards to food and the policeman jails her for it?
I'm speechless about the policeman's inanity. God forbid. |

Hell, I like salt on my burger. This story has made me hungry. (Maybe the cop will stick with donuts next time. ) I will be going to McDonalds tomorrow to ask for a burger...with extra salt of course. |
Forget about the ridiculousness of the story. What I'm wondering is whether or not that girl will sue the city, the city's police department, and the lone officer for single-handed abuse of power.
If cops are allowed to arrest you because they didn't like the product they were served, we're all fucked. |
In the future you will have to sign a waiver every time you order from McDonald's.

And McDonald's doesn't fuck around. |

I would be seeing a lot of people in court, come that day.

Those burger punks!
First you've got a cop arresting a guy for not showing his ID even though he did nothing wrong, now you got a cop arresting a girl for spilling salt on a burger, what is this country coming to? |

I'm really not surprised by stupid shit news like this. So, I just want to get this straight... he wasn't at all upset by the long term health problems he'd face from eating at McDonald's, which I'm sure he isn't too picky about... it was the salty burger he probably wanted to eat from start to finish in spite of probably telling himself it tasted funny. When you're dumb, you're dumb, right? Again, I just want to be clear about that. |

Seriously though, who wouldn't arrest this woman? With a face like that, she's guilty of something.

Where are her teeth?!

As a person who works for the industry the most sensible thing for the cop to do was to return it for the same thing (and get some extras, beacuse thats how we roll).
I admit I have probably made burgers with old-ass meat, but salt? where I wonder how that had happened? |
For those that didn't read any follow-ups to the story, the cop didn't actually finish the burger, and he maintains there has something much worse than salt in it.
I suppose the worker just has a heavy duty stomach  |
She must, she was somehow able to eat her own teeth.
|
Waiting for this to become about race, if it hasn't already... I guess that'd mean. FUCK.
Looks like I judged too soon, how lovely it is to be an ass. |
What im surprised about is that they spent tax payer money and had the burger investigated by a lab hahah!!!!!!!!!!!
|
For stories like this, I blame it all to the lawyers...

Bull**t, it's uh, always!, the lawyers fault. It-it's a fact of life, it-it's, it's common sense! How dare the likes of you defend such a devious, malicous bread of inhuman beings!
I rather support the unfortunate multi-milliondollar corporation on this one.. I say that regardless even though the burger may have been to salty, they are feeding your crap in a bun anyways, consider it an extra secret ingreident, and if you liked it -- You should be lucky that they didn't patent the salty burger and deemed it a healthy choice by cutting out extra calories in the bun! Yes, so yes.. It's, uh.. Uhm.. YES, it's always the lawyers fault! *Looks around the office* "Just finishing up those stats now sir! YES SIR, RIGHT AWAY SIR! (I hate working in an office!) |
