Coffee: How do you like yours?

Close this if a thread like this already exists, I searched the forum and found nothing.

Probably a good bunch of people drink coffee here. Question is, how do you like yours?

I can't stand coffee without some sort of flavoring in it. Otherwise, it just doesn't hit the spot for me. Usually French Vanilla or Hazelnut tastes pretty good. When those aren't available, it's usually some cream and at least 3-5 sugars.

But I'm not an avid hot coffee drinker. I like mine iced. For some reason, there's only ONE Dunkin Donuts that seems to make a Hazelnut Iced Coffee the way I like it. Cream, Sugar, and extra Hazelnut. Hits the spot when the get it right. :)

What about you people?

Mori Sep 8, 2007 10:35 AM

Pretty usual. Coffee with milk and about one spoonful of sugar.
But I pretty much drink it in every way imaginable when necessary :D

Will Sep 8, 2007 11:10 AM

Two packets of sweet 'n low and a drop of milk.

Fleshy Fun-Bridge Sep 8, 2007 11:45 AM

At home I drink my coffee black. No cream, no sugar.

At work, its three packets of splenda and three half-and-half for each 12oz cup.

Excrono Sep 8, 2007 01:03 PM

I'm not really a big fan of straight coffee. I will have it occasionally if its good, however. I do consume espresso drinks on a semi-regular basis (usually after lunch). Its a bad (and expensive) habit to get into, but I find the caffeine jolt keeps me from falling asleep at my desk.

Alice Sep 8, 2007 01:19 PM

I drink mine black at home, but for some reason if I go to a Starbucks or any other coffee place I always get a cinnamon latte with whipped cream. Yummy.

I detest cold coffees. This includes iced coffee and mochas and all those frozen ccinos.

Misogynyst Gynecologist Sep 8, 2007 01:28 PM

Ill drink it black but only if I need to wake up.

Otherwise, light and sweet (two creams, two sugars) most of the time, depending on how strong the coffee is made.

Wow. There's a contrast. ^_^

I can't do black. I usually do cream and some Splenda. I don't like sugar in my coffee AT ALL.

But I love Dunkin's iced coffees. Double brewed to accommodate for ice. Delish~

In the colder months, we have a Vanilla Spice flavored coffee that is to DIE for on a nice, chill, late fall afternoon. I can never get enough of it.

Guru Sep 8, 2007 02:51 PM

2 shots of espresso, straight up.

So you pretty much dance on the walls of Starbucks all day?

oi vey. 2 shots. I can't imagine coming down from that.

The_Melomane Sep 8, 2007 03:12 PM

My coffee drink of preference is a mocha. In the summer I like blended frozen mochas with whipped cream and some caramel. In the winter is the hot mocha. If I don't get a mocha, I tend to get a caramel latte. I can't drink just black coffee, but I do prefer it when my mochas are strong. ^_^ Depending on the place I usually get two extra shots of espresso in my coffee drinks.

Dullenplain Sep 8, 2007 03:26 PM

Black, for the most part, but I usually put in some cream to take the edge off of the bitterer brews.

WolfDemon Sep 8, 2007 04:42 PM

I like a little bit of coffee with my sugar and cream. I mostly drink cold coffee drinks, like the frappucinos at Starbucks.

For some reason, coffee just doesn't do anything for me. I guess after years and years of several cans of soda a day, I have something of an immunity to caffiene. Even energy drinks like Rockstar have no effect on me. =(

Celes Chere Sep 8, 2007 07:09 PM

Coffee gives me a tummyache, but when I do decide to drink it, I put in a lot of sugar and a little bit of milk. Nothing too special.

I prefer hot chocolate, to be honest.

You drink it black because it resembles the emptiness of your soul, don't you?

I take it black. Like my men.

Well, actually I usually add a bit of french vanilla creamer (and I don't do it with black men, not that I have anything against them mind you BUT ANYWAYS), but I'm not the type to pass up a chance to quote Airplane!.

Add me to the list of people who hate cold coffee, by the way. yuck.

Cold/Iced cofee makes me gag...blech. There are some foods and drinks that are meant to be a certain temperature, Coffee is one.

I take mine Hazlenut-extra cream- two sugars, preferably from Dunkin Donuts.

Well, a shot of espresso is only an ounce (a shotglass full). A shot of espresso has about as much caffeine as 8 ounces of regular coffee. So it's really not all that much -- same as about 2 mugs of coffee total. Just really condensed into only 2 ounces.

I don't have TIME to drink a big ol' cup of coffee at work. Gotta make it short and sweet. And effective.

Infernal Monkey Sep 9, 2007 05:19 AM

There was a time when I was obsessed with TOP QUALITY iced coffee from 7/11. I would go to 7/11 and feel like a KING with my bottle of important chocolate flavoured iced coffee. It was basically just like buying chocolate milk, except it had coffee on the label. Which made it like a dollar more expensive. And that made me feel like a business man. "Get out of my way society", I'd say, as I stood still on the train station. Sipping from my plastic novelty bottle. "I have some coffee."

I'm usually a tea fag though. If I do have normal coffee, it's gotta have about an entire dumptruck worth of sugar in there.

Arkhangelsk Sep 9, 2007 07:46 AM

I can't say that I really like coffee, because I put so much cream and sugar/Splenda in it that it hardly resembles the same drink by the time I'm finished with it. And it's even better when I can use those nifty little flavored creamers. My favorite are roasts flavored for the "Latino taste" (ie: Mexican/south american coffees), but I also like iced espresso. With lots of cream and sugar as well.

TheKnightOfNee Sep 9, 2007 08:20 AM

I always put some cream in my coffee. But I never put sugar in it. Ick. Maybe other sweeteners, but I've gotten used to coffee without any sweetener in it too, so I often do just cream.

Paco Sep 9, 2007 03:12 PM

I make my coffee black as night but I add a little sweetened creamer to take the bitter off it. I really only used to drink it when I needed to wake up but now I have about a cup a day.

Meh... I'll be dead by the time I'm 30 anyway.

Yeldarb Sep 9, 2007 07:43 PM

Cream. 2 Sugars.

Black = blegh

Nehmi Sep 9, 2007 08:05 PM

Black, black, black.

I used to drink a ton of lattes though.

Torte Sep 10, 2007 10:04 AM

Blacker than the depths of the darkest night, hotter and more bitter than Hell itself.

^-^ Sep 10, 2007 11:19 AM

Flavored. Any flavored coffee, I'll drink. This also includes stuff like Frappacino's, chilled, ice-cream type coffee drinks, etc.

ForestBrain Sep 14, 2007 02:54 PM

A little regular half and half. That's it. And thanks for making me want some :)

Musharraf Sep 14, 2007 03:09 PM

Black coffee. Turkish style. No sugar, no cream. Sugar is for assholes, cream is for pussies.

ForestBrain Sep 15, 2007 07:47 PM

^ gee, thanks :P

Grawl Sep 15, 2007 08:14 PM

I hate cream in my coffee, it tastes like shit. I do like sugar in it though. 2 of them! 2 sugars! I prefer cappuccino over regular coffee, but perhaps that's just because I can get it at work without a problem.

Kaleb.G Sep 16, 2007 12:02 AM

I like my coffee with Coffee-mate, Hazelnut flavor. I pour enough until the coffee becomes kind of like #d9bd7b.

Darkon Sep 20, 2007 08:22 PM

I don't drink Coffee, I drink Tea. :O Infact, I prefer Tea more than Coffee and I don't know why. I guess it's because I was raised on it (Indian Heritage).

Lol, I suppose I shouldn't be in this thread. :(

Goldark Sep 24, 2007 07:24 PM

Black coffee for me, with sugar, and when I'm at work I take an expresso or two.

The real problem is that I became addicted to coffee (I'm not joking), if for some reason I don't drink some everyday I start to get a VERY painful headache, so bad that I can barely keep my eyes open.

SuperNova Sep 25, 2007 08:05 PM

I take my coffee with just a splash of any lightener like milk or cream, and one or two spoons of sugar. I like to actually taste my damn coffee. I prefer iced and a dark rich coffee roast. This would be why I prefer Starbucks than Dunkin Donuts.

Side note: Coffee actually has more caffiene than something that's "espresso" roasted, although most espressos are actually made using "medium-dark" or "dark" roast. The reason is because at a certain temperature, the essential oils in coffee beans that keep the caffiene solubilized are actually cooked out and end up getting expelled out of the bean due to high heats.

starslight Sep 25, 2007 09:28 PM

Black, with one sugar. Used to do two sugars, then skipped sugar entirely for quite a while in an effort to cut down on my sugar intake. Never got used to the bitterness, though, and eventually came to the compromise of one sugar.

Leknaat Sep 26, 2007 12:53 AM

I tried different coffees over the years, and I couldn't find one I liked.

Then a coffee shop opened up near work, and I fell in love with their Chocolate Espresso Frappe.....

Yeah. Chocolate. Cold. Espresso. Double the caffeine, double the fun.

I have to agree with the last half of your post. I've never been a big fan of coffee to begin with and I'd rather drink a soda if I had to pick one. They don't really give me any kind of pickup. I think we're freaks of nature now. ;_;

AtmaWeapon Oct 11, 2007 09:26 PM

Black, strong and smoking hot.

I'll drop a tad of sugar in occasionally. Never milk/cream

SunkistTheHedge Oct 13, 2007 07:47 AM

Brown with Cream & Sugar

Marina Oct 13, 2007 10:54 AM

I can't live without it.:D
I usually love mocha or espresso.
Anyway I made myself a cup of hot coffee every morning, here it is ; 3 spoons of coffee+2 spoons of milk(High calcium, my mom bought for me:p)+ half spoon of sugar :)

Krelian Oct 15, 2007 08:48 AM

Black, sludgy, strong. No sugar.

A4: IN THE DUNGEONS OF THE SLAVE LORDS Oct 17, 2007 01:23 PM

Espresso quad shot with a 50/50 sugar to coffee ratio and just a touch of milk.

That's a LOT of sugar. Are you serious? 4oz of sugar to 4oz of coffee?

A4: IN THE DUNGEONS OF THE SLAVE LORDS Oct 17, 2007 11:15 PM

I'm totally serious. Most people can't drink my coffee without retching.

Shin Kusanagi Oct 18, 2007 06:57 AM

I only drink coffee when i'm like really really tired cause it helps wake me up. Anyway put 2 cups of sugar first in the cup, then i put the coffee so i don't have to sturr the sugar, then i put a little cream. I used to use milk but i noticed cream taste better imo.

Bernard Black Oct 18, 2007 10:53 AM

If I'm in a café I'll go for a latte. On hot days I'll either have that iced or go for a frappacino. At home it's always Nescafé with two sugars and milk. I can't stand black coffee.

Kitatsugu Oct 19, 2007 12:27 PM

Lots of sugar, in fact anytime someone sees me preparing my coffee they often make a comment along the lines of "Would you like a little coffee with your sugar?", I'll take cream if its there but if its not I don't it black. I rarely drink coffee anyway, I'm far more fond of tea and what I have with that really depends on what tea I'm having and what I feel like.

DeLorean Oct 22, 2007 01:05 AM

I went through a phase in high school where I drank coffee every morning, but then when I wouldn't drink it one day, I'd get a massive headache. I hate having to depend on things in that way, so I haven't drank it consistently since... so the answer is not at all. If I do drink it on rare occasion; I drink Folgers coffee with all milk (no water) and I might add a little chocolate.

Ah! Amoeba Oct 22, 2007 04:21 PM

I'm not picky. Usually I drink it black just because I hate having empty creamer containers and pieces of torn sugar packets all over the place, and also trying to get the flavor just right can be a hassle sometimes.

But really, give me any kind of coffee and I will drink it.

Bubblehead1123 Oct 22, 2007 09:03 PM

Just a wee bit of half and half... I love coffee
