GFF Risk 8 - Japan

The basic rules are in the Wiki

- All players begin with 20 gil, one Tank, and one Energy Boost
- Each player gets 4 turns per day.
- Each day begins at 9:00 AM CST for this game, to give more equity to westerly time zones
- New rule for this game: players must only attack territories adjacent to their own. Item attacks are exempt from this.
- Modification to Warlord status: there are three levels of territorial power. Japan is divided into six regions, each with eight prefectures, should anyone conquer an entire region or regions, these are the levels . . .
  • Daimyo - 1 region: +/- 5 on all attacks and defense
  • Shogun - 2 regions: the above plus +8 gil from each adjacent player
  • Emperor - 3 regions: the above plus an additional attack per day

Weapon of the Day - awarded to surviving players each day, can be traded, but are not included in spoils of war

( * must be declared upon using)

Gaijin Otaku* (8/20) - a considerable nuisance to all Nihonjin, use this item to steal an attack from another player to add an attack for yourself.
Gachapon (8/21) - the fun vending toy finally hits the Risk market! Turn the crank for a chance to win either a Tank, Energy Boost, or 10 gil!
Washed-up Idol (8/22) - a has been in the idol world, use this to render opponents attacks against you into random numbers. This could be a benefit to you, or it could be bad, use at your own risk.
King Ghidorah (8/23) - Godzilla's most-hated arch-nemesis, use it to conquer three prefectures of your choice (any three), and submit two more that may also fall under its power. However, you have a 50/50 chance of getting those extra two prefectures. Otherwise, King Ghidorah might turn its wrath on you and render two of your prefectures (randomly chosen) neutral. Satellite Defense cannot protect against King Ghidorah.

Arms Dealer - still the same, some names changed to reflect the geography in the most cliched way possible

( * must be declared upon using)

(15) Tanks*: Take over one state on the map. Automatic win in battle.
(15) Energy Boost*: Gain 2 extra turns for the day.
(20) Yakuza: Find out the items that all other players possess, find out what items are in play (such as Ninjas), and see all numbers submitted in for attacks/defenses against you for one day. This item's use won't be announced. If the user approves, I will go ahead and submit the statistically optimal number on their behalf, to keep the game moving.
(20) Chemical Weapons*: An opponent loses 3 turns for the day.
(20) Satellite Defenses: Defend against all item use for one day (like other defenses, must be used preemptively). This item’s use won’t be announced. THIS ITEM CANNOT BE USED ON THE LAST DAY.
(25) Gamera*: Conquer 2 adjoining territories. Automatic win in battle.
(30) Mothra*: Take over at least 1 state, with the possibility of taking up to 4 adjoining states. When using this item, post the 4 states you want, in order of priority. I’ll roll a die, and determine how many you’ll actually take (1-4).
(30) Ninjas: Send in 2 numbers for every attack and defense you make during one day (doubles your chances of winning each battle). This item's use won't be announced. Limited to 3 uses per game.
(35) Godzilla*: Conquer 3 adjoining territories at once. Automatic win in battle.

Alliance Items - These items are purchased by 2 players together, either by both PMing me or both posting in the thread. The purchase price and the spoils are split evenly.

(40) Double Team: Conquer any 2 countries and take 2 turns (which you can use yourself) from an opposing player.
(80) Shock and Awe: Conquer 6 adjoining territories and make each affected player lose 1 turn (if they have any remaining).

Pending Battles: ( * means I need a number)

GAME OVER: NUTTYTURNIP IS THE VICTOR!!!

chart of who own what

Unclear connections made clear:

Okinawa (47) has borders with Wakayama (30), Kochi (39), Nagasaki (42), Miyazaki (45), and Kagoshima (46).

Aomori (2), Iwate (3), and Akita (5) for both sections of Hokkaido

The region of Shikoku can be accessed by the mainland from Miyazaki (45) to Wakayama (30), however, the adjacency rule applies, so whatever is closer (usually one or two prefectures) is the one to attack. For example: Hiroshima can access Kagawa and Ehime, whereas Miyazaki is closest to Ehime and Kochi.

Consequently that also means Yamaguchi (35) has direct access to Fukuoka (40) and Oita (44).

Identity Crisis Aug 19, 2007 11:26 AM

I'll claim Aomori before starting, then.

Rollins Aug 19, 2007 12:09 PM

Ibaraki, why not?

Smelnick Aug 19, 2007 12:51 PM

I'll take 28. Hyogo.

knkwzrd Aug 19, 2007 01:13 PM

I'll annex Shimane.

And then I'll attack

43. Kumamoto
44. Oita

orion_mk3 Aug 19, 2007 01:16 PM

I will annex 38. Ehime

Also, in the interest of clarity, would it be possible to draw a border around the various regions? Looking from the map to the key and back isn't very intuitive.

ctu Aug 19, 2007 01:24 PM

I'll annex 16 :D

nuttyturnip Aug 19, 2007 01:27 PM

I'll annex Niigata (15).

Yeldarb Aug 19, 2007 01:41 PM

EDIT: I'll annex 31

Ryuu Aug 19, 2007 01:57 PM

I'll annex Ishikawa.

Shorty Aug 19, 2007 02:03 PM

I'll annex Yamagata.

I made the lines between the regions thicker than the lines between the prefectures. Is that helpful enough?

ctu Aug 19, 2007 06:45 PM

I will call a few attacks and go after

17
19
21
22

and I will use my tank on 23

numbers will be PM'ed right after I post this

Dullenplain Aug 19, 2007 06:59 PM

Oh, also, please try to state the name of the prefectures you attack, rather than just the numbers.

ctu Aug 19, 2007 07:32 PM

ok i will do that in the future

So will I need to resubmit my attack numbers?

Rollins Aug 19, 2007 07:36 PM

I'll call attacks on:

9 - Tochigi
11 - Saitama
12 - Chiba
13 - Tokyo

Newbie to risk question, I PM you any purchases I make, right? Just wanna make sure!

Will PM numbers soon.

ctu Aug 19, 2007 07:41 PM

There one thing I don't get about the new rules

"Daimyo - 1 region: +/- 5 on all attacks and defense"

So what dose that mean?

Dullenplain Aug 19, 2007 07:52 PM

ctu: No, you don't need to resubmit numbers.

And +/- 5 on attacks and defense means that the number you submit for attack or defense gets an additional 5 point spread on either side, thus slightly increasing your chances of victory.

Rollins: Arms dealer purchases have to be done via PM.

nuttyturnip Aug 19, 2007 08:22 PM

I'd better post some attacks before I forget. Today I'll attack:

Nagano (20)
Mie (24)
Gifu (21)
Kanagawa (14)

Two things I'd like to ask/point out:

1) Gifu is colored with Yeldarb's color, yet in pending attacks, it says ctu/Ryuu. Who owns it (not that it matters, I still want to attack it)?

2) Your rules state we can only attack adjacent territories. My Tokyo is under attack right now, and we don't know the result yet. I've just launched an attack on Kanagawa from Tokyo; what happens if I lose Tokyo?

Dullenplain Aug 19, 2007 08:40 PM

1. I mixed Yeldarb's and Ryuu's territories up, I fixed that now.

2. The attack on Kanagawa will be recalled if Tokyo is taken, due to the fact that it is timed after Rollins' attack on Tokyo.

nuttyturnip Aug 19, 2007 09:03 PM

So would I get my turn back then? What if I'm one of these people that likes to attack at 5am; would my turn (that I'm not sure if I'd get back) carry over into the next day, because you wouldn't be around to process the battles?

knkwzrd Aug 19, 2007 09:34 PM

Attacking

35. Yamaguchi
42. Nagasaki

Dullenplain Aug 19, 2007 09:37 PM

Okay, let's make things less complicated.

Attacks are valid and remain in play even if the prefecture the attacks originates from is lost prior to the attack. However, this only works if the player has other prefectures in possession. So, normal elimination rules apply.

I would just like it to be on the record that these people suck huge balls because I always miss their actions by forgetting to look at anything except the 5 most recent posts.

Dullenplain Aug 19, 2007 09:47 PM

First results:

ctu wrests Yamanaishi and Shizuoka from Rollins
but Rollins manages to take Tokyo from nuttyturnip

EDIT: nuttyturnip gets his vengeance by taking Kanagawa from Rollins!

nuttyturnip Aug 19, 2007 09:48 PM

To each his own in terms of when people attack, since waiting until the last minute has its own drawbacks. Me, I can't stay awake that late, so I won't be doing it.

Thanks for clarifying, Dullenplain, that makes things much simpler.

Yes, very much so. Thanks!

I do have another question, though: how are attacks across bodies of water determined? I ask because I'm not sure where, if anywhere, I can attack the mainland from my island territories.

Attack 46. Kagoshima
Attack 45. Miyazaki
Attack 37. Kagawa

Dullenplain Aug 19, 2007 10:02 PM

Refer to the first post in the text below the map that explains some of the allowed attacks across water.

Rollins Aug 19, 2007 10:35 PM

I call bah on this sudden rule change to let the defender reclaim his lost prefecture =/ Especially after I worked so hard to grab it!

Well, maybe it's sour grapes.

(I'm actually okay with it, since I'll probably be partaking of the same benefits provided...if I last that long >_> )

I think I just misunderstood it...I thought that only the specified routes were kosher, but it turns out there's a range of them. D'oh.

Anyhoo:

Attack 40. Fukuoka

Plarom Aug 19, 2007 11:12 PM

Claiming Akita!

Iwate
Aomori
Hyogo
Saga

Dullenplain Aug 20, 2007 12:25 AM

Final update for tonight:

knkwzrd takes Kumamoto and Oita from orion_mk3
Ryuu defended Ishikawa effectively against ctu
Rollins takes over Saitama from Ryuu but it held back by Plarom from taking over Chiba
nuttyturnip storms through Nagano and Mie sending ctu running
knkwzrd takes Nagasaki from Plarom
orion_mk3 gets his vengeance by occupying Kagoshima and Miyazaki from knkwzrd

Yeldarb Aug 20, 2007 12:41 AM

I want to attack 1b, 2, 3, and 4.

Identity Crisis Aug 20, 2007 12:56 AM

Hoo boy, I almost forgot to send in my attacks for the day.

I'll be assaulting Osaka, Kyota, and Saga.

EDIT: Bah, I also forgot about the new attacking rules. New attacks pending.

Okay, my new (and hopefully legal) attacks will be on Ehime, Saitama, and Yamanashi.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 20, 2007 01:29 AM

Damn, I forgot about first day annexing. I should've looked at this thread earlier. :(

Alright, I'm attacking Southern Hokkaido, Osaka, Kagawa, and Miyagi. Also, you may want to rethink your attacks Yeldarb, since only 2 of them are valid.

Dullenplain Aug 20, 2007 09:16 AM

Okay, new results for this morning!

ctu wins Gifu from Yeldarb
nuttyturnip snatches Gifu away before ctu can celebrate
knkwzrd plows through Yamaguchi leaving Smelnick one prefecture less
orion_mk3 removes Fukuoka from Yeldarb's protection
Identity Crisis holds back Plarom's attack on Aomori
Smelnick couldn't hold back Plarom's takeover of Hyogo, however
Tritoch defends Northern Hokkaido against Yeldarb's attack
Identity Crisis couldn't hold against Yeldarb at Aomori, though
Tritoch completes his acquisition of the island of Hokkaido by conquering the Southern half from Yeldarb

Yeldarb's attack on Miyagi (4) from Southern Hokkaido is invalid because it isn't adjacent.

And before people think Identity Crisis' attack on Yamanashi is invalid, adjacency includes corner neighbors as well.

Tritoch, I automatically annexed Fukushima to you, since you're the last one to do so.

New Weapon of the Day (8/20):

Gaijin Otaku - a considerable nuisance to all Nihonjin, use this item to steal an attack from another player to add an attack for yourself.

EDIT:

nuttyturnip repulsed Plarom's attack on Iwate

nuttyturnip Aug 20, 2007 09:18 AM

Quote:

Plarom/nuttyturnip* - Iwate
Why you got to be like that, Plarom? I held off attacking you yesterday, and this is the thanks I get?

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 20, 2007 09:19 AM

Since it's best used at the start of a day, I use my Gaijin Otaku on Yeldarb.

Plarom Aug 20, 2007 09:59 AM

Quote:

Heh.. I actually had a FULL list of attacks directed at Yeldarb until I realized the rules didn't allow that. :eagletear:

No worries, you're not my main target. I plan on spending today formulating alliances anyway, and you're more than welcome to become apart of one! This is the first time I'm playing against you as it is, so I wouldn't want you to get destroyed early on.

GAIJIN OTAKU ON YELDARB.

knkwzrd Aug 20, 2007 10:12 AM

GAIJIN OTAKU ON YELDARB ALSO.

Additional Spam:
That gives me five attacks, which I will use on:

38. Ehime
40. Fukuoka
41. Saga
45. Miyazaki
46. Kagashima

nuttyturnip Aug 20, 2007 10:21 AM

Who am I to stand in the way of a bandwagon?

GAIJIN OTAKU ON YELDARB FTW.

I'll use my first attack to conquer Aomori (2) from Yeldarb.

Ryuu Aug 20, 2007 12:23 PM

Ah, fell asleep before I could make any attacks.

I'm attacking:
Fukushima, Wakayama, Tokushima, and Toyama.

I'm also using Tanks against Fukui

Dullenplain Aug 20, 2007 01:03 PM

Midday results:

orion_mk3 is unsuccessful in taking Kagawa from Ryuu
Yeldarb captures Iwate from nuttyturnip
Rollins manages to divert Identity Crisis' attention from Saitama
Tritoch conquers Osaka and Kagawa after a while, catching Ryuu's forces unprepared
Ryuu rolls into Fukui in his tanks

Wow, y'all are pretty tough . . . four uses of the Gaijin Otaku against Yeldarb!

knkwzrd Aug 20, 2007 01:06 PM

Just a note that Miyazaki and Kagashima are owned by orion_mk3 right now, not ctu as listed on the first page.

orion_mk3 Aug 20, 2007 01:09 PM

I would like to purchase one unit of Tanks, and use it on 44. Oita. My existing unit will roll into 43. Kumamoto

Dullenplain Aug 20, 2007 01:13 PM

My error, put the two on the wrong column. It will be fixed shortly.

Also, nuttyturnip snatches Aomori from Yeldarb
and orion_mk3 storms Oita and Kumamoto with his tanks

orion_mk3 Aug 20, 2007 01:15 PM

I'd like to filch a turn from Shorty, and make the following attacks:

Okinawa
Shimane
Nagasaki
Yamaguchi
Kagoshima

Rollins Aug 20, 2007 01:18 PM

Grabbing a turn from ctu.

Attacking:
7 Fukushima
10 Gunma
12 Chiba
14 Kanagawa
19 Yamanashi

nuttyturnip Aug 20, 2007 01:44 PM

I'll be purchasing a Gamera and using it on Okayama and Hiroshima. So long, Smelnick.

Dullenplain Aug 20, 2007 01:50 PM

Plarom takes over Saga from orion_mk3
knkwzrd reclaims Kagoshima and Miyazaki
orion_mk3 takes over Okinawa, Yamaguchi, and Kagoshima, continuing the feud between him and knkwzrd
,but was unable to capture Shimane and Nagasaki

Gaijin Otaku has been used on both Shorty and ctu, giving them three turns for the day
Gamera, friend of all children, has been summoned by nuttyturnip, eliminating Smelnick from the game!

nuttyturnip Aug 20, 2007 02:06 PM

http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/g/gamera1.jpg
Gamera is really neat, he is filled with turtle meat!

knkwzrd Aug 20, 2007 02:33 PM

I will use my Tank to take back Okinawa.

ctu Aug 20, 2007 02:53 PM

I will attack

Ishikawa
and
Fukui

numbers will be PM'ed in a few

Dullenplain Aug 20, 2007 05:19 PM

Final update before leaving work, map will update up to this post when I get home.

knkwzrd uses Tanks to reclaim Okinawa
ctu defends Toyama againt Ryuu

Yeldarb Aug 20, 2007 07:54 PM

I'll use my Otaku on Tritoch. Subsequently, I'll use my energy boost.

Attacks:
28
5
41

nuttyturnip Aug 20, 2007 10:09 PM

I'd better post the rest of my attacks before I got to bed:

2) Nara (29)
3) Iwate (3)
4) Shimane (32)
5) Yamanashi (19)

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 20, 2007 10:51 PM

Hm, I suppose I'll launch an all-out assault on Shorty. My armies are movin' on up to Yamagata and Nara. Since that's all she's got left unless she sends in some numbers soon, I'll use my other two attacks on Tochigi and Ibaraki.

Identity Crisis Aug 20, 2007 11:56 PM

Bleh, I seem to be confined to one territory that I am guaranteed to attack from at the moment, so I'll use my Tanks to run over Aichi in hopes that I can gain more ground.

I'd post attacks, but I'm currently still attacking Ehime, the one spot that I actually want to conquer that is within my options.

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 12:07 AM

Big final update before I go to bed, chart, pending battle and map will follow:

Rollins waltzes into Tochigi (Shorty failed to submit defense number)
Identity Crisis conquers Ehime from orion_mk3 and sets up camp in Yamanashi
knkwzrd's attack fails to remove Fukuoka from Yeldarb's possession
Ryuu can't seem to budge Fukushima and Wakayama from Tritoch
but he managed to get away with Tokushima as a consolation prize
Rollins also was unable to move Fukushima into his possession nor was he able to get Kanagawa from nuttyturnip either
mixed results for nutty, Iwate remains in Yeldarb's hands but he conquers Shimane from knkwzrd instead
Identity Crisis uses Tanks to occupy Aichi

Lots of defense here tonight.

Identity Crisis Aug 21, 2007 12:13 AM

Aha! Bingo!

I'll attack Shizuoka and... that's it, I guess. I have to wait on the results of another battle for the two countries I just conquered. ;_;

Plarom Aug 21, 2007 12:36 AM

Alright then..! I'll have to continue bombarding Yeldarb, but I'm really just trying to stay out of the way of nutty and his giant, monster turtles from the sea.

Iwate
Tottori
Fukuoaka
Osaka

Shorty Aug 21, 2007 12:38 AM

Well, I hope I haven't lost Miyagi yet, this is what happens to me for working overtime and squeezing in a dinner date. :(

Anyways, attacking :
5. Akita
7. Fukushima
26. Kyoto
24. Mie

...bah, my middle-school geography is escaping me... time to dust out the cobwebs on my old textbooks.

ctu Aug 21, 2007 02:56 AM

I will use my last 2 attacks and go after

Yamanashi
Aichi

orion_mk3 Aug 21, 2007 09:07 AM

Resuming the offensive bright and early.

Attacks on:
Fukuoka
Miyazaki
Nagasaki
Okinawa

Also, by my reckoning, I should have enough cash for a set of shiny new Mitsubishi Type 90 main battle tanks, which I'd like delivered by Enterprise Rent-A-Tank when convenient.

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 09:30 AM

Tritoch polkas into Miyagi (no defense number sent)
knkwzrd was unable to conquer Ehime and Saga from Identity Crisis and Plarom, respectively
Gunma and Yamanashi was unaffected by Rollins' advance
but Chiba fell like a katana through bamboo
Yeldarb pulled Hyogo away from Plarom's grip
but Akita and Saga are untouched
Identity Crisis still holds onto Yamanashi when it was sieged by nuttyturnip's forces
Tochigi and Ibaraki still remain in Rollins' domain despite Tritoch's campaign
Plarom grabbed Iwate from Yeldarb while he can
but Tottori and Fukuoka stay in Yeldarb's territory, Plarom could only hold so many prefectures in one hand
knkwzrd bought and used Yakuza for Day 2, its effectiveness is over as of this post

Day 2 was a big day of defense it seems.

Alright, New Weapon of the Day:

Gachapon - the fun vending toy finally hits the Risk market! Turn the crank for a chance to win either a Tank, Energy Boost, or 10 gil! (you don't have to announce the use of it)

And orion, you're 3 gil short of tanks, based on my chart.

Rollins Aug 21, 2007 09:56 AM

Early morning attacks on:
10 Gunma
14 Kanagawa

orion_mk3 Aug 21, 2007 11:52 AM

Quote:

Don't we get a little bit of cash each day? Or did I miss a rule change there too?

In any event, consider my Gachapon crank turned :D

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 12:08 PM

You're right, I forgot that surviving players get a 5 gil allowance at the end of each day.

I've just added 10 gil to everyone to remedy that oversight. My apologies.

So that means that Tank is yours, orion!

EDIT: Battle Results -

Ryuu fends off ctu's attack on Ishikawa
Ryuu and ctu's battle for Fukui is at a standstill! RESUBMIT NUMBERS
orion_mk3 conquers Fukuoka from Yeldarb

nuttyturnip Aug 21, 2007 12:39 PM

I should get an extra 5 gil then, since I killed Smelnick yesterday, and he would have earned 5 gil from the first day.

ctu Aug 21, 2007 01:22 PM

Ok First I use my item of the day the Gachapon
then I use my Gaijin Otaku on nuttyturnip

Edit: I now will attack with Mothra and go after the following in this order

1: Gifu
2: Fukui
3: Ishikawa
4: Nagano
5: Aichi

nuttyturnip Aug 21, 2007 01:35 PM

Well if that's the way you want it, I use my first attack on Toyama. I'll wait on the results of your other battles to attack further (hurry up, Identity Crisis).

I also use my Gachapon, because I'm an expert at turning cranks.

ctu Aug 21, 2007 01:37 PM

I am doing it because I want that regions so I can become a Warlord....and also you started it :P

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 05:25 PM

Update before leaving work:

5 gil has been added to nuttyturnip's gil count retroactively due to Smelnick's spoils

ctu has used the Gaijin Otaku on nuttyturnip
he also summons Mothra to lay waste to Gifu and Fukui

ctu has taken Yamanashi from Identity Crisis
but was unable to take Aichi from him
Rollins was also unsuccessful in taking Gunma from him too

Map to come after the commute!

Identity Crisis Aug 21, 2007 05:53 PM

I'll be attacking Tochigi and Saitama while I still have a confirmed country that can attack those places!

Ryuu Aug 21, 2007 06:16 PM

Buying GODZILLA and making him rape Yamanashi, Nagano, and Shizuoka.

Using Energy Boost as well.

Attacking:

Toyama, Fukui, Gifu, Aichi, Tokyo, and Saitama.

Edit: Noticed ctu used Mothra on Fukui, so I will be attacking it.

Rollins Aug 21, 2007 06:26 PM

Reattacking Gunma yet again.

nuttyturnip Aug 21, 2007 06:43 PM

Seeing as how Yeldarb has no attacks pending, only 2 territories in his possession, and a nice supply of gil, I think it's time for the friend of all children to make another appearance.

I SUMMON GAMERA TO ATTACK HYOGO AND TOTTORI

http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/g/gamera1.jpg

Sayonara, Yeldarb.

knkwzrd Aug 21, 2007 08:10 PM

Attacking.

Fukuoka
Kagoshima
Kumamoto
Oita

Plarom Aug 21, 2007 08:27 PM

Gachapooooooooooon!

Yeldarb Aug 21, 2007 09:08 PM

I'll attack:

Olta
Aomori
Mlyagl
Hyogo

I'll also use my gachapon.

Well damn. Now I have no more GFF games to play :(

Shorty Aug 21, 2007 09:23 PM

I will use my gachapon

Using my tank to take back Miyagi.
Attacking Mie still.

nuttyturnip Aug 21, 2007 10:32 PM

It would appear Tritoch killed you, Shorty, even though Dullenplain hasn't posted. Your name is no longer on the chart, and Tritoch's got some extra gil.

For my final two turns, I attack:

Tokyo
Yamaguchi

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 10:34 PM

Big giant update, lots of things has happened tonight:

Shorty has held back nuttyturnip's forces at Nara
but the victory was short-lived as Tritoch's troops stormed through Nara and Yamagata making Shorty the second person eliminated from the game (man, and the only player with some real connection to Japan as well . . .)
orion_mk3 launched an attack on knkwzrd's weak spot for MASSIVE DAMAGE taking the prefectures of Miyazaki, Nagasaki and Okinawa making knkwzrd the third person to be eliminated from the game
nuttyturnip fended off Rollins' assault of Kanagawa
Identity Crisis embarks upon Rollins' territory and conquers Tochigi, but not Saitama
Ryuu summons Godzilla from the deeps to cut a path open to take Yamanashi, Shizuoka and Nagano with ease
Ryuu advances into Rollins' territory to take over Saitama but failed at conquering Tokyo
nuttyturnip once again calls upon the help of Gamera, friend to all children, to help subdue Hyogo and Tottori and bring under his wing making Yeldarb the fourth person to eliminated from the game

The Gachapon was a pretty fun thing, and just as I expected, the distribution of prizes were split evenly between the Tank, Energy Boost, and 10 gil.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 21, 2007 10:45 PM

Hey Dull, by your rules do Godzilla affected countries all have to be touching one of mine or just one of them and they're all connected?

orion_mk3 Aug 21, 2007 10:47 PM

I'm going to roll tanks into Saga while I'm thinking about it. Sorry, Plarom.

Oh, and was there any swag from that wholly unexpected elimination?

Rollins Aug 21, 2007 10:52 PM

I will buy Godzilla and use it on:

Niigata
Gunma (this prematurely ends my existing battle with Identity Crisis)
Saitama

I will use my existing Tanks on:
Kanagawa

I will use my remaining turn on:
Tochigi

Items are exempt from the adjacency requirements. I've said this in the first post.

Quote:

I knew I forgot something:
  • nuttyturnip gets 2 Tanks and an Energy Boost from his elimination of Smelnick and Yeldarb
  • Tritoch gets a Tank and an Energy Boost from his elimination of Shorty
  • orion_mk3 gets a Tank and an Energy Boost from his elimination of knkwzrd

EDIT:

orion_mk3 uses Tanks to storm Saga completing the requisite prefectures needed to become the Daimyo of Kyushu-Okinawa! (that may be soon to change, however, as warlords tend to have short lives)

Rollins calls upon Godzilla to prepare Niigata, Gunma and Saitama for occupation, and also uses Tanks to conquer Kanagawa 1 prefecture away from a Daimyo . . .

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 21, 2007 11:11 PM

Very well, Rollins' actions have answered my question nicely.

First off, I'll use my Gachapon. Next, I'll buy and use GODZILLA on Aomori, Akita, and Iwate. Sorry about that Nutty, but I can't just leave one territory dividing my region in half.

Next, I'll use my existing tank on Kyoto. You really shouldn't have attacked Osaka, Plarom. =D

As for my four attacks, I'm rollin' on into Tokushima, Gunma, Tochigi, and Fukui.

Rollins Aug 21, 2007 11:18 PM

Once I saw your first post, alarms went off in my head that you were going for a power grab at my expense. If you were or not I don't know, but since it's obvious I'm on my way to becoming 5th out of the game, I figured I should do something remotely interesting before I go.

Ahh, I picked up some tricks for my next game of Risk though, haha. Good newbie experience here.

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 11:27 PM

Tritoch's double attack on Plarom with Godzilla and a Tank has left him hanging on to his attack on Osaka as his lifeline . . . will he make it? Regardless, Tritoch is now the Daimyo of Hokkaido-Tohoku!

ctu Aug 21, 2007 11:34 PM

Ok since I stole that 1 turn from that Item I will attack

Ishikawa
Nagano
Aichi
Niigata
Shiga

attack and defense numbers will be PM'ed in a few

Dullenplain Aug 21, 2007 11:52 PM

Plarom gets lucky and wins Osaka from Tritoch, and survives . . . for now . . .
ctu survives both assaults on Toyama and an attack on Gifu
Ryuu conquers Fukui from ctu
Rollins defends Gunma and Tokyo from separate invasions
nutty snatches Yamaguchi from orion_mk3

Okay, that should be enough updating for tonight.

Originally the Godzilla was going to be aimed at you, haha. Then I realized the bridge to Hokkaido was 3 countries instead of the 2 I thought.

Oh, and I can't have Plarom surviving like that to seek revenge upon me later. I'm using the tank I received from Shorty to take back Osaka.

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 12:00 AM

And it's official, Plarom is the fifth person eliminated from the game!

Tritoch gets a Tank and Energy Boost as his spoils.

I think that's a record. FOUR people ousted in one day . . .

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 12:33 AM

I'm summoning the wrath of Gamera to take Toyama and Gifu away from ctu. I know it won't eliminate him, but it's too tempting with only the two bright green countries remaining on the map.

Once again, everybody!
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/2505/gamera13lo1.jpg
Gamera is really neat, he is filled with turtle meat!

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 09:15 AM

Day 4 is upon us, with two Daimyos, Tritoch in the north and orion_mk3 in the south. Their attacks and defenses on Day 4 will have an extra 5-integer spread on either side of their numbers. Should they remain Daimyos by the end of the day, the benefits carry onto the next day. Would we see a Shogun arise by the rising moon?

Rollins thwarted ctu's attack on Niigata
Tritoch has politely asked for the services of Gamera, friend to all children, to bring Toyama and Gifu to him in a nicely wrapped package. Tritoch is obligated to return a gift as it is the Japanese way . . .

New Weapon of the Day:

Washed-up Idol - a has been in the idol world, use this to render opponents attacks against you into random numbers. This could be a benefit to you, or it could be bad, use at your own risk. You don't have to announce its use publicly.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 09:40 AM

Alright, I'll start the day off with a bang before I have to leave for class. I'm attacking Ishikawa, Nagano, Niigata, and Gunma.

nuttyturnip Aug 22, 2007 10:20 AM

Today I'll be attacking Fukuoka and Oita to start with.

orion_mk3 Aug 22, 2007 10:48 AM

First (counter)attacks:

Yamaguchi
Ehime
Koichi

Additional Spam:
Actually, I think I'll just roll a tank into Yamaguchi, which is the only link between the mainland and Kyushu, which should cancel the attacks on Fukuoka and Oita.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 09:45 PM

So... No numbers or updates today? It'd be nice to know if attacks are succeeding or not since we can only hit adjacent countries. =/

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 10:03 PM

There are some now:

Ryuu has conquered Aichi and sent Identity Crisis fleeing
to Tochigi where Rollin's attack wasn't sufficient
but he was soon driven out of Tochigi as Tritoch's troops overwhelmed the prefecture
Niigata and Gunma are now under the banner of Tritoch
nuttyturnip thwarted ctu's attempt to take Shiga
orion_mk3 uses Tanks to move into Yamaguchi, but nuttyturnip's attack are still valid.

orion_mk3 Aug 22, 2007 10:06 PM

I'll press forward from Yamaguchi, then. My last two (normal) attacks of the day are:

Shimane
Hiroshima

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 10:11 PM

orion_mk3 kept Fukuoka from falling into the grasp of nuttyturnip
but that doesn't stop Oita from doing so, therefore knocking orion_mk3 out of the position of Daimyo for the rest of the night following this post

nuttyturnip Aug 22, 2007 10:14 PM

I'll counter by attacking Yamaguchi and Kumamoto.

Ryuu Aug 22, 2007 10:21 PM

Attacking:

Wakayama
Kyoto
Nara
Osaka

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 10:21 PM

Alright, I'll use 3 energy boosts now to attack Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, and Kanagawa. That leaves me with one attack for later.

orion_mk3 Aug 22, 2007 10:22 PM

Everyone was just waiting, breath baited, for Dull's post, so they could unleash Armageddon :D

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 10:25 PM

Pretty much! =D

Rollins Aug 22, 2007 10:30 PM

Let's do this kamikaze style.

I'll buy Tanks and use them on Akita. This should eliminate Tritoch's Daimyo bonus for the night (as I infered from the previous post about Orion).

I'll use my two Energy Tanks and attack:

Northern Hokkaido
Southern Hokkaido
Aomori
Iwate
Yamagata
Niigata
Tochigi
Ibaraki

I'm definitely not leaving a beautiful corpse for Tritoch to steal from! Bwhaha.

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 10:41 PM

You're attacking your own prefecture of Ibaraki or are you making a contingency in case Tritoch takes it in his attack?

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 10:44 PM

With any luck, all of my attacks will succeed and I'll live happily with all of Rollins' turf anyway.

Rollins Aug 22, 2007 10:47 PM

The problem with a kamikaze attack is the apparent lack of planning.

Let's switch that attack on Ibaraki to Fukushima.

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 10:48 PM

Also, your attack on Niigata is not valid as it isn't adjacent to any prefecture you own, Rollins. Please choose another prefecture.

Rollins Aug 22, 2007 10:51 PM

How about that =/

Switch that attack on Niigata to Miyagi.

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 11:02 PM

Okay . . . let's see how all that turned out:

Tritoch has defeated Ryuu at the battle of Tokushima and Fukui
ctu was unable to overpower Ryuu at Ishikawa, Nagano and Aichi
Tritoch was able to overpower Ryuu at Ishikawa and Nagano though
orion_mk3 has taken Shimane from nuttyturnip
but Hiroshima stayed firm within nuttyland
Ryuu's assault on Tritoch was a COMPLETE AND UTTER FAILURE

As it will be too awkward to try and type down every particular of the battle . . .

Tritoch won these prefectures from Rollins: Ibaraki, Chiba and Tokyo

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 11:10 PM

I'd like to point out that I used Satellite Defenses today (PMed you last night), so that tank wouldn't have any effect. That means some of Rollins' attacks, such as the one on South Hokkaido, aren't possible and you also need to add my Daimyo bonus back in.

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 11:12 PM

That's what I get for getting flooded with so many attacks!

With that in mind . . . only Fukushima is the valid battle.

Tochigi, Gunma, Yamanshi, Nagano, and Gifu are also valid prefectures for Rollins to attack according to when his attack was made.

Rollins Aug 22, 2007 11:12 PM

Tsk, that's a darn shame =/

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 11:13 PM

Also, any items for defeating CTU since I believe I took the last of his countries? =D

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 11:26 PM

Yes you do, two Energy Boosts and 16 gil.

Rollins does win Fukushima though, so there goes your Daimyo status, Tritoch!

Map is updated.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 11:44 PM

I'm in the mood to expand your spreadsheet tonight. I'm summoning up the awesome might of GODZILLA on Saitama, Kanagawa, and Yamanashi. Then I'm buying a tank (unless I have one already) and sending it into Fukushima.

orion_mk3 Aug 22, 2007 11:45 PM

When did I lose Yamaguchi? It says the attack is still pending, as I noticed when I was about to submit my numbers.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 22, 2007 11:47 PM

Oh, and I'll go ahead and use one more energy boost to attack Aichi and Shizuoka. The green moon has risen on Japan this night.

Dullenplain Aug 22, 2007 11:50 PM

You didn't lose it, that was an oversight for not recording your tank attack properly.

Tritoch has ousted Rollins (4 gil is the spoils) from the game and has returned to glory, becoming a Shogun.

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 08:01 AM

Just for kicks (since I don't want to be in debt to my brother), I'm summoning the awesome might of Mothra on Fukushima, Niigata, Nagano, Aichi, and Shizuoka. Nothing personal, I've just never been fond of green.

http://media-carnell.macrobyte.net/c..._21_mothra.jpg

Go, Mothra, go!

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 23, 2007 08:56 AM

Methinks my brother should wait to wake up after train rides before summoning enormous moths.

Nothing personal, but I'll use an Energy Boost to finish off the day with a surprise attack in the last 4 minutes. If my attacks on Shizuoka and Aichi fail, I re-attack them. Otherwise (or if Dull doesn't want a simple contingency) I attack Mie and Shiga.

The battle for the north has been won, troops! Now we march upon the south!

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 09:15 AM

I too am wary of the Great Green Shogun, so I purchase one of Godzilla's affordable Wrath-On-Demand™ packages and unleash him on Aomori, Iwate, Akita. I'd then like to launch attacks from that territory on Hokkaido A, Iwate, Miyagi.

No hard feelings, but Tritoch's practically won the game, and I'm up for a little fun before the inevitable :D

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 09:23 AM

Results for the end of Day 4:

nuttyturnip summoned the wrath of Mothra to attack Tritoch and Ryuu, but remember, Tritoch has a Satellite Defense up for that day, however, Mothra is feeling very vengeful, so Ryuu's territory have been transferred over to nuttyturnip's auspices, making Ryuu the eighth person eliminated from the game. nutty receives 24 gil
The battle for Yamaguchi is tied! nutty and orion should resubmit numbers.
nutty was also unable to conquer Kumamoto

And so Day 5 begins. The game will end after Day 6 on midnight CST August 25

First result for the day:

orion_mk3 tried summon Godzilla, but it wouldn't respond in kind. Rethink your strategy.

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 09:27 AM

That's what I get for not reading the whole thread. So, how does Godzilla fail outright? Unless Tritoch has Defenses up again today, or orion doesn't have enough money, he should have taken at least 1 country.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 23, 2007 09:27 AM

Does that mean I lost the pre-Mothra battles for Ryuu's two territories? Mothra should only be able to take those if I didn't capture them first. Also, my Spies from yesterday should still be in effect for the Mie/Shiga attacks.

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 09:34 AM

Damn, he got satellite defenses up already? That was fast.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 09:36 AM

It's pretty clear what that means.

Mie and Shiga are still under Day 4.

Yes, by amazing stroke of luck, you didn't win those battles, but I chose not to mention that anyway for brevity's sake.

Final New Weapon of the Day:

King Ghidorah - Godzilla's most-hated arch-nemesis, use it to conquer three prefectures of your choice (any three), and submit two more that may also fall under its power. However, you have a 50/50 chance of getting those extra two prefectures. Otherwise, King Ghidorah might turn its wrath on you and render two of your prefectures (randomly chosen) neutral. Satellite Defense cannot protect against King Ghidorah.

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 09:40 AM

Guess I've no choice but to turn on Nutty and IC.

I'll use a tank on Oita to close up that pocket, and re-direct that Godzilla to Ehime, Kochi, Hiroshima.

EDIT:
And--why not--let's send that King Ghidorah to Aomori, Iwate, Akita. The contingency territories for KG are Hokkaido A, Iwate, assuming the lech doesn't turn on me.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 09:51 AM

nuttyturnip won Yamaguchi
orion enroaches upon Shikoku and made Identity Crisis the ninth person to be eliminated from the game. He wins a Tank, Energy Boost, and 44 gil, and restores his status as Daimyo.

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 09:57 AM

Might as well use that free tank to retake Yamaguchi before I head to work!

Ryuu Aug 23, 2007 10:31 AM

Aww...

Anyway, great game, Dullenplain. It was a lot of fun, and summoning Godzilla was just lol.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 23, 2007 10:33 AM

I was hoping to systematically move through Nutty and then confront Orion, but it appears that we'll be meeting a little earlier than expected thanks to this suspiciously convenient item.

I'm using King Ghidorah on Fukuoka, Oita, and Saga. Provided it doesn't turn against me, also Miyazaki and Kagashima.

Following that, I'm using my Washed-Up Idol on nuttyturnip.

Spoiler:
I can't help but laugh maniacally every time I look at the spreadsheet.

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 10:42 AM

Could we get an update on the chart so I know exactly what orion has? I want to mass an all out assault, but I'm confused at the moment.

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 10:56 AM

Preemptive attacks on Tottori, Okayama.

I'd also like to use an Energy Tank to launch counter-attacks on Fukuoka, Oita, Saga. That should leave me with one move left for now, barring add'l tank usage.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 12:13 PM

Unfortunately for the both of you, King Ghidorah was not pleased with your requests, and while it begrudgingly gave you the requested three prefectures, it decided to have some fun. It lays its eyes on the island of Shikoku and goes on a rampage. The entire island of Shikoku has been rendered neutral. (Ehime, Kochi, Tokushima, and Kanagawa for those who don't know)

orion_mk3 is no longer a Daimyo, and Tritoch has been demoted to a Daimyo.

Ugh . . . next time I manage this game (if there is a next time), better bookkeeping.

Y'all are making things really hectic for me, so I just keep making some interesting things to throw bits around . . . heh.

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 12:26 PM

I use my 4 turns today to annex Ehime, Kochi, Kanagawa, and Tokushima.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 12:39 PM

Not close enough for Kochi. The other three are yours.

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 12:56 PM

Quote:

Umm...if I annexed the first 3, then that would put me adjacent to Kochi, therefore, I should be able to annex that as well.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 01:05 PM

If you like to put it that way, in sequential order.

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 01:14 PM

I do everything sequentially, except for eating and making sweet love to the newly liberated ladies.

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 01:24 PM

That diabolical three-headed miscreant :D

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 23, 2007 08:59 PM

Any chance of getting a map edit tonight? It's still last night's map, which isn't terribly useful when trying to attack. =/

Also, I'm still not sure why the Mie and Shiga attacks are marked as only me needing to send in numbers.

orion_mk3 Aug 23, 2007 10:10 PM

Guess no update's forthcoming, eh? Put my last attack toward Hokkaido A, and I'll call it a night.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 10:24 PM

There is now, map included. Sorry for the tardiness.

nuttyturnip has fended off orion_mk3's attacks
nuttyturnip protected Shiga from invasion
Tritoch invades and occupies Mie

nuttyturnip Aug 23, 2007 10:41 PM

I attempted to use a Tank on Okinawa, but it failed due to Satellite Defenses. :(

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 23, 2007 11:02 PM

I'm confused, how do you already know it failed, and why would you use it then?

Anyway, I'm attacking Akita, Iwate, Aichi, and Shizuoka.

Dullenplain Aug 23, 2007 11:26 PM

nuttyturnip announced this first in #gfwerewolf on irc and I told him, that's how it transpired.

orion_mk3 reclaims Oita and Saga
but was not able to take over Fukuoka and Southern Hokkaido
Tritoch was unable to conquer Shizuoka

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 09:01 AM

It’s time to END THIS.

I purchase Godzilla and unleash him on Aomori, Akita, and Iwate.
I purchase another Godzilla and unleash him on Shimane, Hiroshima, and Yamaguchi.
The 6 gil I obtain from these conquests gives me enough money to purchase a third Godzilla, which I unleash on Kumamoto, Oita, and Miyazaki.
I use one of my remaining Tanks to conquer Kagoshima.
I use my King Ghidorah to conquer Saga, Nagasaki, and Okinawa, with the additional 2 countries being Gunma and Nagano.
See below for correction.

That should finish off orion_mk3.

I use my Washed-up Idol on Tritoch.
Provided I have enough money from conquering orion, I purchase Ninjas and use them today. Not enough money. :(

orion_mk3 Aug 24, 2007 09:07 AM

Perhaps I'm finished off, perhaps not.

My question is, where does the "The 6 gil I obtain from these conquests" come from? The entire offensive seems to revolve around that crucial point.

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 09:12 AM

Actually, I screwed up the sequence, because for some reason I thought we got 10 gil per day. Here's the correction:

I purchase Godzilla and unleash him on Aomori, Akita, and Iwate.
I purchase another Godzilla and unleash him on Shimane, Hiroshima, and Yamaguchi.
I use my King Ghidorah to conquer Saga, Nagasaki, and Okinawa, with the additional 2 countries being Gunma and Nagano.
The 9 gil I obtain from these conquests gives me enough money to purchase a third Godzilla, which I unleash on Kumamoto, Oita, and Miyazaki.
I use one of my remaining Tanks to conquer Kagoshima.

Here's the math:

100 gil balance
+5 gil for start of day
-8 gil warlord fee to Tritoch
-70 gil for 2 Godzillas
+9 gil (at least) for conquering 9 territories with the Godzillas/Ghidoran
-35 gil for another Godzilla
+25 gil from defeating orion
=26 gil remaining

Not enough for Ninjas, sadly.

Zergrinch Aug 24, 2007 09:20 AM

Wow, get a load of that chart.

Congratulations, Tritoch! You got your bro beat in Risk but good!

orion_mk3 Aug 24, 2007 09:22 AM

Quote:

+9 gil (at least) for conquering 9 territories with the Godzillas/Ghidoran.
Not to split hairs, but since my survival depends on it, why do you get 9 gil for this? Has that been going on the whole game and I just never noticed? There's nothing about gil for territory in the rules.

EDIT: I have to go to work, so I'll post some attacks just in case. In the event they're futile, kudos to the survivors. Third place is nothing to sneeze at, after all!

Tanks to Kagoshima, attacks to Ehime, Koichi, Okinawa, and Yamaguchi. Use all remaining Energy Tanks.

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 09:33 AM

I haven't been following the monetary transactions in this game, but in my games I've always given gil every time a country is taken, whether by standard attack or by item.

Wow, looking at the wiki, I can't believe I never added a line to mention how gil is earned. I'm sure I've addressed it in previous games, however, and like I said, that's always the way it's been.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 24, 2007 09:34 AM

Yeah, I didn't realize we got money if we conquered a territory using items.

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 09:35 AM

Sigh. Fine, I'll dig through my old posts, but that's how it's always been done. It's just never been an issue before.

Zergrinch Aug 24, 2007 09:37 AM

I confirm nuttyturnip's assertion. He's always awarded money for countries conquered through items. I'm surprised Tritoch doesn't know about this, seeing as how he's been playing since game 1.

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 09:39 AM

Here we go.

This is from Game 2, the second/third game where I introduced gil, and I clarified it for those who hadn't played the Serious Business version:

Quote:

Your current gil total can be found underneath your name on the Excel chart, and you earn one gil for each territory acquired (through battle, annexation or items) and each successful defense.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 24, 2007 12:07 PM

It's more that I forgot several games ago, and have been wondering about it for quite awhile. It was just never enough of a concern to ask.

Dullenplain Aug 24, 2007 02:45 PM

The one factor that rode on nutty's victory was the fact that King Ghidorah actually obeyed him, for once. That was one hell of a 50/50.

orion_mk3 is knocked out of the game, player number 10 eliminated. nuttyturnip gets 33 gil and 2 Energy Boosts as spoils (the 8 gil tribute is not taken because Tritoch is a Daimyo by the end of Day 5) and is now a Shogun. Tritoch has been demoted to a regular person.

Now, it is the battle of primacy between the two brothers.

WHO WILL JAPAN BOW DOWN TO?

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 02:51 PM

So how much gil do I have now? If I have enough, I'd like Ninjas, please.

Additional Spam:
The chart says I've got 48 gil, so I'll assume I can purchase Ninjas. I'll use the 4 Energy Boosts that I possess today as well, giving me 12 attacks (if I have more, please let me know). Therefore, I'll attack the below countries, and since Tritoch's got an Idol against him today, we won't have to wait on his numbers.

1. Northern Hokkaido
2. Southern Hokkaido
3. Yamagata
4. Miyagi
5. Fukushima
6. Niigata
7. Fukuoka
8. Kyoto
9. Osaka
10. Fukui
11. Mie
12. Gifu

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 24, 2007 03:12 PM

Haha, this is exactly how I thought things would really go once I ran out of money, except I was betting on Orion. I might've managed to do more last night if I hadn't been dead tired and passed out well before midnight. :tpg:

nuttyturnip Aug 24, 2007 03:16 PM

Orion didn't have enough money to turn on you (or really me either). He could have made a dent, and made me focus on taking him out instead of giving me the chance to turn on you. If he'd used his gil to summon Gamera last night, he would have had too many countries for me to wipe him out.

That's what I was hoping would happen. Sigh.

Tritoch made a rout on nuttyturnips forces and captured Aichi

In a thirst for revenge, nuttyturnip threw his entire forces against the Tritoch military machine and captured Southern Hokkaido, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Niigata, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Osaka, and Fukui. Such is the combined power of Ninja swearing their fealty to their Shogun.
But . . . Northern Hokkaido, Mie, and Gifu still remain in Tritoch's now decimated territory.

As for items, nutty has 2 Tanks remaining and Tritoch has 1. Use them wisely.

Okay... Now it's time for my counterattack that is most likely completely pointless anyway, but I'll keep this close!

First I enlist the services of the mighty Godzilla one last time. My scaly friend is going to unleash his wrath upon Niigata, Gunma, and Nagano. That puts me back up to Daimyo status.

Next I'll use my current tank to take Fukui.

With the funds acquired from those conquests, I'll buy another tank and use it on Shizuoka. This grants me my title of Shogun once again. Even if I'm destined to lose at this point, I do love fancy titles.

Now then, time for my attacks. Even if they're random my Daimyo bonus should help a bit.

-Yamagata
- Fukushima
- Shiga
- Kyoto

I shall not go quietly into the night!

Spoiler:
Although I think it's mathematically impossible for me to win at the moment. :(

...And yes, I watched Independence Day last night.

I'll launch my final 2 tanks on Ibaraki and Tochigi.

Dullenplain's already got my numbers for the day. I've got 29 gil right now (after the Tanks); one more and I can afford Mothra's services. Therefore, as long as I win one of Tritoch's attacks, I'll launch Mothra at Ishikawa, Toyama, Fukui, Yamanashi, and Nagano. If by some miracle I don't get anymore gil, I purchase a Gamera one final time and launch him at Ishikawa and Toyama.

You and your giant turtles. I don't think any of that is even necessary though. You seem to be ahead at the moment by a single country even if all four of my attacks succeed. Stop fighting moth wars. :(

But it's no fun if I don't use all my ammo. Can't leave any around for poor Japanese schoolchildren to put an eye out with.

Tritoch wins Yamagata but not the rest

nuttyturnip's Tank and Mothra attack demoted Tritoch into nothing more than a well-landed citizen, but the Shogun won't let it stand for long and demanded Tritoch swear fealty under him.

Welcome to the nuttyturnip Shogunate!
