Body Spray

It's like everyone is using body spray now. There are so many brands too. Axe, BOD, Old Spice, Adidas and so many more.. Who else is guilty of wearing body spray. I was hooked on Axe for a while, but now I use that Old Spice stuff.

SemperFidelis Mar 19, 2006 10:06 PM

Smells like shit to me. Like chemical dried up orange peels. Old Spice pure sport gel sticks all the way.

Rockgamer Mar 19, 2006 10:11 PM

I've never used it myself, but I have wanted to try it to see what the big deal is all about. There are so many of them though, that I wouldn't even know where to start. Maybe I'll just go into the store and start spraying all of them in the air.

Neogin Mar 19, 2006 10:12 PM

I use Body Spray, but only after P.E/Gym. I often use Axe.

knkwzrd Mar 19, 2006 10:21 PM

I second the only after Phys.Ed. comment. And then sparingly. That stuff is horrendous if you use too much. The best use of body spray in my opinion is idiotic yet very entertaining spray fights. Good times.

It also makes for a great flamethrower.

Spyer Mar 19, 2006 10:59 PM

Well, I use some Axe, but only after I do an exercise or something. Better to smell like "dried up orange peels" then B.O. Heh.

Josiah Mar 19, 2006 11:04 PM

Axe for me. Something quick to put a little on of with the stick if I have to skip the shower because I'm running late to class. :ashamed: Or maybe some before going out with some girls. (No, I don't believe in the "Axe Effect".)

kat Mar 19, 2006 11:08 PM

Am I wrong or is body spray just for guys too cheap to buy cologne.

Why Am I Allowed to Have Gray Paint Mar 19, 2006 11:19 PM

I use Gillette Gel anti-perspirant and JPG cologne when I want to feel good (the one in the blue and white stripey bottle). That stuff smells beautiful.

quest2368 Mar 19, 2006 11:26 PM

I used to use degree-shower scent body spray. It smells good, but I generally go for regular deodorant or gel sticks.

riceonfriday Mar 19, 2006 11:30 PM

Back when I was in gym there was a guy with a locker next to me, who used the stuff religiously. I just never had the heart to tell him that he smelled like B.O. & cheap cologne. It smelled like he just came from a strip club.

Moral: The stuff is not meant to be an anti-perspirant.

FLEX Mar 19, 2006 11:41 PM

I've never used body spray. Just slappin on some Old Spice High Endurance is fragrance enough.

Gechmir Mar 19, 2006 11:44 PM

Old Spice: Glacial somethingorother is my type. Dry solid, smells nice, stays on. I hate the Body Spray commercials to no end. And it inflicts how I buy their products, which is to say I don't buy 'em.

I hate how strong they are. Seems everyone I come across who has it on them doesn't have the slight scent to 'em. It's suffocatingly strong. I use Old Spice and cologne (either English Leather or Azarro).

FLEX Mar 19, 2006 11:47 PM

I never like using the gels or dry solids. Gels wear off too quickly and the dry solids leave gunk the ol' hairs. The High Endurance stuff is a wet solid (my description) I can deal with -- and yeah, it is strong stuff.

I can't wear perfume because I'll sneeze too much. I have no choice but to do the body spray. I don't have a particular brand, but I like fruit-smelling stuff. I guess my favorite that I've worn is Victoria Secret's strawberries and champagne.

Megalith Mar 20, 2006 03:00 AM

I just tape Glade PlugIns to my armpits.

unknown_user Mar 20, 2006 03:14 AM

I use Axe mostly, its basically cheap cologne, lol. Only a few of them smell good to me though.

iokcs Mar 20, 2006 05:14 AM

never used "body spray" i use cologne though... used to use Eternity, now i use Curve/Curve crush... they got that citrus scent if you will... i like it and my girlfriend does too... ^_^ i use axe body wash though.. but maybe thats a diff topic... lol

There are some colognes/perfumes that do that to me, too--but one I found I can use is Elizabeth Taylor's Passion. It's a lighter scent. And, most body sprays are that--light scents. I work two jobs where you're permitted to where perfume, but you can't go overboard with it. So, this is the answer.

For me, it's the Pear-smelling body spray. Although it does "something" to some men. I get hit on more when I wear that.....

OmagnusPrime Mar 20, 2006 07:53 AM

I like the idea that you write it as "who here is guilty of wearing body spray" like it's a bad thing. Yes, I am guilty of using spray that makes me smell a little nicer, jail me for my heinous crime.

As for the type I use, it's Sure.

EmpyreanHorizon Mar 20, 2006 10:58 AM

Everyone smells like fruits nowadays but I don't know if that's a good thing. I tried using Bath and Body Works' Country Apple 'body splash' and these bees kept hovering back to where I was sitting. Now I stick to the not-so-strong-smelling perfumes, which is really hard to come by since tropical weather screws the original scent of any perfume, cologne spray, etc.
For example, a cologne would smell really good in Florida but after that umteen hour flight to asia, you get off the plane, get a blast of hot and humid tropical air in your face, and you spritz that cologne you bought on you, and then you end up smelling like grandma/grandpa. It's tough.

ComCrimson Mar 20, 2006 11:01 AM

I'm guilty of polluting the air with these products. Every single day i have to wear some Impulse Instinct body spray. I hate not wearing it. I like to smell nice. I only use subtle stuff though. Not like full on perfume that makes you want to gag 'cause that's just nasty

I poked it and it made a sad sound Mar 20, 2006 11:06 AM

Okay, I'll admit it. I own tons and tons of Bath & Body Works body sprays. So what. SO I AM GIRLY. WHO CARES. ;_;

I like a lot of the scents, and while they don't last all day, they make for a temporary freshening-up if you have no time. I keep little travel-sized spritzes in my bag in case I have to show up someplace and I need to be presentable.

I am a smoker, though. So I guess anything to cover up the stench of smoke on me is acceptable. ^_^

I made a strap that holds them in place so you don't have to tape them. Patent pending.

HostileCreation Mar 20, 2006 11:39 AM

Ew, no, I despise them. My personal man-scent is much more effective anyway.

ava lilly Mar 20, 2006 11:40 AM

I hate the smell of most of these "LOL IT'LL HAVE GIRLS PILING UP ON YOU" body sprays for men. I was curious what the big deal was so I smelled a few of them in the store once, but clearly it's just a marketing ploy because the stuff smells like shit. how else would they sell it.

most colognes and perfumes I don't mind, provided that they don't have musk in them. I despise the smell of musk. it's generally what makes the scent smell so potent. it makes me sad that I can't find any vanilla perfumes that don't have musk in them ;_;

also as long as people don't practically bathe in it, it's generally not too offensive. I don't think you should be able to smell any of their perfumes or colognes unless you're standing fairly close to them. it's only supposed to make you smell, not the air within a 6 meter radius of you.

Diversion Mar 20, 2006 11:40 AM

My Old Spice deodorant is all I need... I get compliments on my fragrance.

Amanda Mar 20, 2006 06:38 PM

Colognes, body sprays, and perfumes all tend to smell equally rancid to me. Even in small doses I'm not fond of them, but if I can smell you before I see you, that's a sign to ease the hell off.

Honestly, I won't be sad to see more places take up a scent-free policy in the future.

Try B&B's "Juniper Breeze." It's pretty light.

But here's a trick:

Since I work in two food establishments, I spray the perfume on my wrists, down my shirt, and ON my clothes. Even after working for hours around food, I still have the light scent of my perfume. :)

Hospitals do, pretty progressive places ay?

Juniper Breeze is indeed a very nice scent. I'm not sure if Bath and Body Works makes Sweet Pea in body spray form, but that's also a really nice scent.

I don't wear too much body spray. When I first get a bottle, I use it in small amounts quite often, but the smell eventually gives me a headache after a week or two. I remember that there was a body spray phase one year. Every time I went into the locker room at school, I would be on the verge of passing out. There were countless different sprays being used, and the problem was that the girls were spraying the stuff into the air and then walking into it. That, of course, made the tiny, inadequately ventillated locker room turn into one of the foulest smelling things I've ever come across.

So do a lot of places at my university, a lot of government offices, and some businesses. Officially scent-free policies are usually to have consideration for people with allergies and the like. But hey, if it means fewer guys will be enveloped in a cloud of rancid cologne and fewer girls will smell like they bathed in Sears' entire perfume section, bring it on.

Cool, I'll check it out, see if they sell it here.

ArrowHead Mar 23, 2006 03:12 PM

Sure I use Axe. I hate B.O. Yes I'd even prefer smalling like an incense stick over smelling like I haven't showered (when I have!).

nazpyro Mar 23, 2006 06:41 PM

Nay. I just use my Gilette deodorant. Whatever works, even if it comes from the inventors of the silky, smooth shave. My brother uses one of those body spray stuffs. I also point and laugh at him.

XtremeDJW Mar 23, 2006 07:02 PM

Am I missing something here? Is body spray different to deoderant?

I'd be quite suprised if nobody used the stuff to be honest.

J-Man Mar 23, 2006 07:25 PM

I use the Adidas (however that foreign shit is spelled) body spray. I got 2 cans free from a contest and I kinda like them now

Rydia Mar 23, 2006 11:18 PM

I tend to notice a lot of girls at my school using the same type/scent of body spray (Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, etc), so I try to stay away from them. There's a spray I picked up while overseas this past Christmas that smells vaguely of flower petals. It's a unique scent that isn't too strong.

The difference between deoderant and body spray is that deoderant makes you smell good AND is an antipersperant, whereas if you put on body spray and work up a sweat you'll still smell like BO.

Harmonica Mar 24, 2006 06:06 PM

I tend to associate body spray with ignorant white thug wannabes, because I find they love the stuff. I have some in my cabinet, but it is rarely used. As for cologne, I love the way it smells, but I rarely wear it, only when I know I'm going to be around females for an extended period of time. I have this Armani Black Code stuff which I got for Christmas. It smells like a spectacular citrus extravaganza. Prior to that I used my dad's Polo cologne, which smells like gentleman.
