Gamingforce Pokémon D/P Round Robin Tournament
Welcome to Gamingforce's first Pokemon tournament!
This thread is only for the discussion of anything relating to this event. So if you have a question about what kind of team you should use please bring it to this thread. Got it? Good! Because this is a round-robin and my opponent has effectively dropped, how does this affect scoring?

The point system will still be even for everyone. The only down side now is that each of us will not get to play in every round.
I would expect more ties so if anything the top 3 (maybe 4) will have a single elimination match after the round robin. |

I have to remember to take Macho Braces off my Pokemon before I battle. Even in PBR, I do the same thing. T_T |

I didn't think Chaotic had Macho Braces on his Pokemon at the time. Mine are on the Jolly side, so I thought mine went first naturally, anyway. I'm up for a rematch if Chaotic is though!

Round 2 has been added. Me and Elmoogle still need to do one more match then I'll move on to round 2 to fight Chaotic.

Damn, Elmoogle's team is crazy fierce.
I don't want to give away his battle strategy but whatever you do look out for his Weavile! Damn thing demolished half my team over... and over >:U. Still that had to be one of the best series of matches I ever encountered. The scoring reflected that pretty well too, I think. Anyway, round 1 is complete and no updates were added to round 2. |

He said he might not have a lot of time to get on today or tomorrow. That's why our battle happened so quickly. He'll probably be on a lot on the 3rd day, but give him a PM just to make sure when you two can battle.

No point wasting your energy waiting for him. Best you two arrange a time to meet so you wouldn't have to be sitting on Wi-Fi all day and perhaps among other things, train up your Pokemon for the hell of it. |

A very strange occurrence happened over my WiFi Exhibition battle with Rua. When I sent out Zapdos, half of the time Zapdos' flying type wouldn't be counted towards the attacks. For example, Rua hit Zapdos with a Stone Edge, but only regular damage was assigned instead of super effective damage. Likewise, Rua experimented with Earthquake and it KO'd Zapdos.
What happens in the case of glitches and such? Do matches start over or proceed as normal? I'm being thankful that Rua and I weren't playing for the tourney at that point as I have no idea how to handle that sort of situation. |
Thats cause Roost makes your poke temperorly lose its flying type, Now only if I had knew 47 Skarmories ago. Thats why stone edge and ice shard did neutral damage those times you roosted.
it has it in the info on Marrilands sight, here text from its description on there. Effect Restores HP to the user equal to 50% of its maximum HP. Allows Ground-type Pokemon to hit the user after use. In-game Text The user lands and rests its body. It restores the user's HP by up to half of its max HP. |
Oh, derp. I really should pay attention to what the attack does. I assumed it was a normal recover for my birds. :(
Although, it does make tons more sense now that I think about it. |

My battle lasted WAY too long against Kairyu. We only got one done, but I'm looking forward to the next one.

Edit: I thought of a very random idea for next month's tournament, should we have another one. We submit names of 6-9 Pokemon that we have. Those names go into a draft pool. If the participants stay the same for the next tournament, we could figure out draft order through the rankings at the end of this tournament. Each Pokemon submitted will be assigned a number, participants choose numbers and draft Pokemon to their team that way. We trade accordingly and start the tournament. It's like a slight variation of the Fortune Battle from PBR. The whole idea of using Pokemon that aren't yours. I'm not sure how many problems this might cause if you leave your Pokemon in the care of someone for a short time, but I dunno, it's just an idea at the moment. Thoughts? |

I have no excuses though and yes, that was a good match. An unexpected loss but I can live with that! Updated the brackets one last time before I go to bed. I figured it would be troublesome for people, but even with PBR, we wouldn't be able to access that type of battle... They Wi-Fi is as bland as it gets with either Singles 3v3 or Doubles 4v4.

Well that sucks I lost AGAIN!
Rua's team is scary, I'll give him that. Except for his Aerodactyl, it was really the only poke that was a pushover ._. Alright, I've updated the charts. Not a lot has changed but it's still nice to see new numbers. Oh yeah, people please don't forfeit your battles. It's not exactly the most encouraging to thing to see. If you don't have time or don't feel too good then just postpone the match until later. No harm in doing that, I'm prepared for that. Also bear in mind forfeiting a battle means you automatically gain 6 KOs to your stats. On top of giving the point to your opponent. Doing this too often will not only kill any chance of the forfeiting player to play in the finals~ But it will throw off the tiebreaking decision when the points are tallied. Just something you guys should consider. If there is anything I hate seeing it's a player giving up during a good match. |
Aerodactyl just stealth rocks and dies, it did its job^^. Its not supposed to live. But it'll take out whatever before it goes.

Hoo boy, the first battle was really close! There was a 56 HP margin between a victory and a loss for me there! The second and third games... not so much. Milotic is much faster than I give it credit for. Ice Beam wrecked me on the second game. Good games though! =D |
Oh yeah. Outstanding battle, I had fun! everybody I've battled with so far has been great, including the people I haven't battled yet! haha, if that makes any sense.
This tournament was a great idea, I got to meet people I've never seen before. |

Man am i glad i dropped this horribly ran tournament. You guys suck at running tournaments. You could have had this tournament done with in one day. Instead you guys wanted to be stupid(if your wondering if i am insulting you the answer is yes) And run this tourny for weeks with only 8 freaking people??? Pathetic. Ive heard some news about the person who is running this tourny and i dropped out. Smart me. If the rest of you had brains, I would suggest you do the same as this tourny will take forever to finish or might not ever finish. Scrubby nonsense. Stop trying to run tournys if you dont know how to properly run them.

I'm doing my damn best in running this tournament but ultimately it's up to the players involved to make it happen. Do you honestly think I can force players to do their matches to make things move faster? Yes I probably could've had this tournament done within a week or less. People have lives, timezones are a bit in the way for some of us but we're moving. This isn't the hardcore Smogon community (or whatever they're called) so go there for your tournament fix. You sound like you need it. The last thing I need is a person that signed up just to bitch infront everyone in this thread. ------ On a side note me and IC completed our match last evening. I may have lost but that match was awesome :tpg:. |

I expect that, had Rua stayed in, the final results would've been much different.
Also, the amount of haxxing in last night's game against Kairyu was unbelievable. His Miltank Body Slammed my Breloom. I got Paralysis and the Miltank was put to sleep by Effect Spore. There were also incidents of hax poison, freezing and burning. On the plus side, Protect worked twice in a row, for once! |
Unlike the Focus Sash-Hydro Pump you tried pulling on me during our battle. :)
