GFF Arcade: Add/Remove Game Requests

Perhaps if the demand is strong enough, we can convince Bobo and the Admins to seek out and restore beloved games from the past to the Arcade.

And if there's anything you feel is just god-awful, voice opinions upon that too.

Add:

Nanaca Crash - It was silly and extremely aggravating but also a total blast. Plus, it has part of my name in it and I'm an ego-whore like that.

RaidenX - Holy crap was this game intense. My knuckles got stiff from hours of play. It also had a great "save" feature that's rare for games of this nature.

Curveball - A very calculating, tricky game. Highly addictive.

Smack the Rabbit - I was just getting good at it and the smooshing noise was quite satisfying.

Alchemy - I enjoyed this puzzler a lot.

Remove:

Typing Test - Submit script doesn't work.

Super Mario Mushroom - The Max Score is too low and can be attained by anyone on the first play-through.

Zookeeper - I own Zookeeper. THIS IS NOT ZOOKEEPER. It is imitation garbage.

scotty Mar 18, 2006 11:09 PM

I second Nanaca Crash

AlphaDeus Mar 18, 2006 11:10 PM

REMOVE:

Adventure Golf : All you have to do is scrap all the holes and you get 72 (the high score).

Musharraf Mar 19, 2006 03:38 AM

Add:

Monkey Diving FOR CHRISTS SAKE

Remove:

Typing Test for reasons mentioned above

Free.User Mar 19, 2006 03:47 AM

Why not fix typing test?

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Mar 19, 2006 04:02 AM

Because the games are acquired in "finished" form; we don't have enough ability to recode the game to make an attempt worthwhile.

If Typing Test was coded improperly or accidentally omitted the submission script when it was being converted for inclusion in the games bundle we got, there's not much we can do other than not use it.

Besides, presuming that we could get it working, it's still not that fun.

Kilroy Mar 19, 2006 04:09 AM

I liked Mine Cart or whatever it was called. I'd like to play that game again.

Scarletdeath Mar 19, 2006 06:31 AM

Is madfistbt still around? I expect him to be the new mothecuntin Free Kick Expert again.

Franky Mikey Mar 19, 2006 06:49 AM

Please add Soap Bubble back. Okay, the plot was not all that bright, but it was great fun to play and achieving high scores required quite a bit of skill. I'd like to battle with TubeRacer and xenosomething on that one again.

David Deluxe Mar 19, 2006 08:12 AM

I already made a post about those game, which should be removed.

And yeah, we definitely need more Nanaca Crash and Curveball here. Is there any other Arcade Game like Typing Test? In principle this game should be very suited for the Arcade, but as long as it won't submit your score...

pofcorn Mar 19, 2006 08:42 AM

While we're here, can we put the game category tabs to good use?

MisterMercenary Mar 19, 2006 10:44 AM

Add - Pacman
Spank the monkey(Maybe)
Simon

Darkcomet72 Mar 19, 2006 11:50 AM

I thought RaidenX is boring. Just a competetion to see who could play it the longest. And I didn't die once my first (and only) playthrough.

So I vote no for RaidenX.

Lipid Mar 19, 2006 12:06 PM

Remove: Bloody Pingu - Based entirely on luck with hitting the randomly placed mines

I assume you spent hours trying to get near that high score but has no luck? ='D

Though I agree with you. It's purely based on luck from those random mines.

Rydia Mar 19, 2006 01:08 PM

I'm fine with removing the games listed so far. Also in favor for Nanaca Crash returning.

I forgot the name, but what was the game where you had to catch falling monkeys or else they'd fall to their death? I seem to recall Mush getting the high score in that one.

Franky Mikey Mar 19, 2006 01:18 PM

So what if a game is luck-based? Many of them are, to an extent. Doesn't make it any less fun or competitive. If you don't like it, don't play it.

Seconding the motion to re-add the awesome Pacman we had.

Not even close to hours. Bout 10mins, got 907 or something like that. and gave up

TRZD Mar 19, 2006 02:50 PM

I'd love to see Puzzle Bobble in there again.

Also seconding Monkey Diving.

Eleo Mar 30, 2006 11:56 AM

Everyone fails for not mentioning Tontie.

Kolba Mar 30, 2006 12:17 PM

Add that Soopa Sprinta game. Took me right back to classic arm deadening button pounding athletics sims.

FatsDomino Mar 31, 2006 12:29 PM

Can we get a version of Nanaca Crash that doesn't suck?

I'd like the ability to keep playing it until I get a high score I want to submit. It keeps track of your highest score anyway so what is the big fucking deal with giving us only one turn. Let us play until we're done and then hit the submit button. Besides sometimes you just can't get that guy to fly as far as you want initially anyway and yay you have to go through the intro and everything all over again.

So please if we're going to have Nanaca Crash please for the love of god and all that is holy give us a good version of it.

BlueMikey Apr 5, 2006 01:13 AM

Most of the games in the Arcade still blow, and we're still missing many of the old favorites. Any chance this will be worked on again? Bumpity bump bump.

Bigblah Apr 5, 2006 01:51 AM

I'd still like to know how bobo modified Nanaca Crash. If he got the original .fla, I am very much interested.

evergreen Apr 5, 2006 02:38 AM

What happened to Donkey Kong? That was a better arcade translation than Metal Slug. I'd like that added.

Outlaw Apr 5, 2006 02:20 PM

Puzzle Bobble and Nanaca Crash. Those two games I played more then any other ones off the old bored....even Tetris. I would also like to see Balloon bomber back as well....

Miles Apr 22, 2006 11:58 AM

If this stupid 600 vbarcade games torrent would work I would start digging through it to find the games you requested. Look forward to seeing new games soon though. =p

Franky Mikey Apr 24, 2006 06:00 AM

A bit off-topic maybe, but how do you challenge someone to a game? It has to be possible since there is an instance listed in the "recent challenges" spot, but I haven't found the way.

Bigblah Apr 24, 2006 06:19 AM

Go to your UserCP and click on Edit Arcade Options. There's an option "allow challenges" that you have to set.

Franky Mikey Apr 24, 2006 06:22 AM

Ooh, neat. Thank you.

Everyone, allow challenges. There's some fun to be had.

P.S.: woah Miles, 600 games? The anticipation is killing me. Get some seeds somewhere. ;_;

David Deluxe Apr 24, 2006 06:24 AM

First of all, you have to go to your User Control Panel -> Edit Arcade Options.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...uxe/arcade.jpg

Now others should be able to challenge you. Guess you have to contact someone, if you want to challenge him.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...xe/arcade2.jpg

( Eating and writing at the same time = <_< )

Franky Mikey Apr 24, 2006 06:30 AM

Thanks for the pointers. Guess you'll be among my first opponents, then. >_>

I poked it and it made a sad sound Apr 24, 2006 09:11 AM

If I may request Jewel Quest? I am probably the only asshole on Gamingforce that plays this game when I am bored, but I would REALLY like to see it on Arcade again. I remember it didn't work for a few months down there for me, but I would love to see it back again. Please? ;_;

Miles Apr 24, 2006 10:42 AM

Aww man. I've got a feeling I just downloaded another RAR full of shitty games. I wish bobo would tell me where he found his cool games. I hope he didn't go to one of those sites that charges to download. ;__;

It even has that horrible Bubblebobble included. The one that looks like ass.

Edit: It has a game called "Fuck" in here. o_o

Franky Mikey Apr 24, 2006 10:49 AM

Add them anyway, we'll put them to a test. :judge:

Miles Apr 24, 2006 10:51 AM

Yeah... I bet you wanna test the adult arcade game. =O

Nehmi Apr 24, 2006 11:19 AM

Everyone wants to test out that game.

Actually I'd be happy with some more old arcade games. Any chance we could get Joust?

Miles Apr 24, 2006 11:48 AM

Aww man. The PHP files don't containthe scripts that install the games into the arcade like the others do. I think I have to manually add a script oe by one to get them to work. They re uploaded on the server though. What a waste of time.

These games are mostly retarded anyway.

Here's a sample: http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/ga...itebikeSte.swf

pompadork Apr 24, 2006 12:01 PM

102 kills, im #1.

FatsDomino Apr 24, 2006 12:07 PM

88 kills, coincidently I too am #1, Pom.

"muhahahhahahahaha" over and over and over and over

EB64 Apr 24, 2006 12:51 PM

Only 102? I got 114.

Miles Apr 30, 2006 11:59 AM

Ok. Added a bunch of random new games to the arcade. Also added the leader board so you can see which users hold the most awards. Use the rating system to let me know which games are crap and need to go.

Still can't find Puzzle Bobble and Nanaca Crash. ;_;

Franky Mikey Apr 30, 2006 12:42 PM

You brought back Pacman. =o

I wonder if this isn't too much Awesome for me to handle.

Miles Apr 30, 2006 05:29 PM

I'm glad you are happy French d00d. =D

Franky Mikey Apr 30, 2006 09:15 PM

I noticed something, though. It seems not all games can appear on the page at once, so I sometimes have to refresh a couple times if I'm after a specific one. Anyone else experienced this?

Double Post:
Also, Chinese GP Shanghai can safely be removed, I think. I didn't manage to submit a score (nobody has, either) and the game sucks anyway.

Infernal Monkey Apr 30, 2006 09:23 PM

Probably because the arcade seems to default to the crappy 'random' section. Choose 'All' up above. =o

EB64 May 20, 2006 05:09 PM

Is there any plans to fix the High Score tables from showing multiple scores from 1 person?
A LOT of games have almost the entire Top Ten being only 1-3 people showing because of that...:(

FatsDomino May 20, 2006 06:51 PM

Not sure if you've heard, but that's how real arcade high score tables work, dude. =/

Franky Mikey May 20, 2006 07:00 PM

But that's not how it used to be around here. And I think the other way is far better, at least for a place like this.

Seconding EB64's motion.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon May 20, 2006 08:33 PM

Hahaha, that ExciteBike game's victory screen uses the music from Blaster Master.

Best part of the whole game, right there.

Miles Jun 4, 2006 03:25 PM

I'm uploading and installing another random batch of games. I haven't tried any of them so I have no idea if they suck or not. They should be up and playable pretty soon.

Let me know if there are any problems. =)

Freelance Jun 4, 2006 04:13 PM

Albatross Overload is fun!! I haven't tried any of the others yet though.

Oh! Are we gonna have some top down shooters soon? I miss though :(

Franky Mikey Jun 4, 2006 04:24 PM

Whack a Beast can be removed. You can't submit scores.

Also Sonic has the most annoying physics engine ever. :(

Thoroughly enjoyed Transformers and Ninja Air Combat.

Thoroughly enjoyed Transformers.

I played that TF game and I couldn't find a way to save scores. I forgot to mention it in my post.
Oh, and I liked that game too, but I hate those jets. I never seem to get them.

Miles Jun 4, 2006 04:57 PM

When I get off of work later tonight I'm probably gonna remove some of the 1 star rated games and the two games that won't allow you to submit a score. I also wanna organize all the games into their correct category.

Everyone needs to play Mister Fox. It's like the coolest arcade game we've ever had.

Darkcomet72 Jun 4, 2006 05:03 PM

How come I cannot submit my score for Ninja Air Combat? It just stays there at the end credit with my score under the big Mausland sign.

Speaking of which, perhaps the best Mausland game I've played. Which isn't saying much.

FatsDomino Jun 4, 2006 05:08 PM

Highscore woo! While the game is fun it would be better as a stand alone game. 3 lives just isn't enough. You get to the log boss and it's pretty much game over ville.

Talbain Jun 5, 2006 01:29 AM

Mausland Ninja is broken.

Case in point, you beat the game... but do you see a SUBMIT button anywhere?

Sir VG Jun 5, 2006 04:42 AM

Out of Halloween attempts to submit your score, but isn't configured right so nothing is being submitted. Fix or remove please.

Just don't beat it. ^^;;
