Post Your Favorite Car
I don't think I ever remade this thread after gamingforce got reset last time. Feel free to post more than one! If you're anything like me, you like looking at pictures of cars. Last time I did this, I posted a Firebird as my favorite car, and people were like 'WTF, your name is DeLorean'. Well, DeLorean designed the early Firebird. So there.
http://www.frameupclassics.com/1967%...bird%20web.jpg And Also... http://www.damianpenny.com/archived/DeLorean.JPG And my modern favorite... The BMW M5 http://www.chooseyouritem.com/autos/...000.BMW.M5.jpg |
I love right side drive Mini Coopers. My roommate from college has one and one of my best friends just got one.

I'm all about the deceased makes.
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...-amx-1968c.jpg The 1968 AMC AMX, the company's attempt to compete with the Corvette and Mustang. Terrific styling, good performance, only a few thousand made before it was reduced to an options package on the Javelin. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...ion_mk3/kf.jpg The 1951-53 Kaiser Manhattan. Very few people have heard of the make or model, but it's very aesthetically pleasing, super-rare, and innovative. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s..._Commander.jpg The 1953 Studebaker Commander. Designed by Raymond Loewy, this sleek coupe was decades ahead of its time and hard to find today. |

For sheer everythingness the Aston Martin DB9:
http://www.sportscarcup.com/cars/aston-martin-db9.jpg But if I were to go for something more affordable then the Honda S2000: http://www.caradisiac.com/media/imag...a_s2000_01.jpg |

My favorite car ever since the day I laid eyes on one has always been the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...tCamaroZ28.jpg It's a little out of my price range but hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll have one around the time I'm balding and need something to make up for or an emotional hole needs filling during my mid-life crisis. |
I see Vipers every frickin' day, so I've kind of lost the dazzle with looking at them. But every now and then, still,I'll be looking at one and just get all red in the face. They are kool cars, but not the best, I think.
And since I like a lot of simple things... http://images.motortrend.com/feature...Front_View.jpg |
That 1953 Studebaker Commander is a good looking car!
I love the Opel GT. I also like the way the new Corvettes look. http://www.classiccar.com/photopost/...14/Opel_GT.jpg This is a good example of a stock GT. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...reitreifen.jpg Here is one with a stock body and better looking wheels. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...0/72opelgt.gif How the headlights operate on my orange GT. They made cars is some pretty awful colors back in the day. http://www.sportscarmarket.com/img/a...s-copypsrl.jpg I'd have to say that the BMW 3.0 CS which was built from 1968-1975 was a sharp looking car. Additional Spam: http://www.pipe-arts.com/project/gt1/max.jpg Here is a highly modified GT with a 16v 2.0L turbo ecotec engine under the hood. Not a bad color on a GT. |

A few more oddities near and dear to my heart: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...n_mk3/cord.jpg The 1936 Cord 812 supercharged coffin-nose speedster. The pinnacle of 30's engineering and art deco styling, with performance that's good even by today's standards. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...rls_Graham.jpg The 1938 Graham-Paige "Spirit of Motion" sedan. Made for only one year, these art-deco beauties look like they're moving even when in park. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s.../bricklin1.jpg The Bricklin SV-1, a gull-wing Canadian auto unrelated to the DeLorean and even rarer. Thanks to their body design, they're nigh-impossible to repair and only a handful exist. |
call me a nerd if you want, but I really want one of these...
http://www.pinklily.com.au/images/media/smartcar.jpg I love smart cars!! |

The Mazda Miata is hopfully going to be my 'reward car' to myself when I move out to NYC and get a job good enough to pay for it (From what I've seen, its actually not that bad, price-wise). Granted, I wont actually need it to drive around the city, but I'll need something to get to and from CT.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ress/Photo.jpg Because I'm picky, it'll have to be the hard top, and definitely a darker color: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ta_hard_to.jpg Lots of people say its a death-trap as a two-seater, but fuck it, the idea of geting one is one of the few things keeping me going at this point. Worse comes to worse, I'll fall back on what EVERYONE seems to be getting these days: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...tangconv07.jpg Can you tell I want a convertable? Or a motorcycle... :eagletear: |

Yes yes yes! I'd love it in that color pink too :D |
I was really hoping no one would post a Mustang, because I knew I wouldn't be able to resist flaming them. Everyone drives a fucking Mustang. It's lost it's value.
|
I never really got the appeal of the modern Mustangs myself. I don't think they did a good job with the design nor do I like the base models. Speaking of Mustangs, my friend Jamal had a 2004 Mach 1 for a while and I gunned around town in that car a few times... To this day I still remain unimpressed by these cars. :/
I got another car I'd like to add to this list now that I'm still here: I've only seen one of these myself and it was a stunningly beautiful car. God only knows how much it was being sold for and, quite frankly, I think my blood pressure probably doesn't want me to know. http://photos.velocityjournal.com/im...haeton5801.jpg 1932 Cadillac Phaeton V16 |

LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO:
http://www.2dayblog.com/images/2006_...o-nera-new.jpg The first time I saw a Lamborghini in person, I almost wrecked my car and killed me and my at-the-time girlfriend. |
Man, those Gallardos are fuckin' NICE. I saw one up here in Three Rivers two years ago and I was impressed by one thing and one thing only... How fucking TINY they are. And yet, it's a 10 cylinder engine pushing 500+ horses. DANGEROUS WEAPON.
|
Yesh.. those lamborghinis..
saw one yesterday... and damn the sound that it makes. music to my ears. my dream to own one. |

Aston Martin DB5 http://www.modernracer.com/classics/...nbeamtiger.jpg Sunbeam Tiger http://www.damage.fi/slas/images/cars/FALC_4.jpg Ford Falcon XB Coupe All three are "movie cars". The Aston Martin is from Goldfinger and Casino Royale (2006). The Tiger is from the opening credits of "Get Smart" and the Ford Falcon is the model used for Mad Max's black v8 Interceptor. I've had the good fortune of driving a Tiger in the past; that sucker makes your balls vibrate something crazy. |

Hehehe, Lotus 7.

1971 Datsun 240Z One of the lightest production sports cars (Typically you can get them to weigh right around 2100 after an engine swap), and you can fit things like BMW V12s or Chevy 377s in them. I'm buidilng mine with a VG30ET (SOHC Turbo charged V6 Nissan engine) and considering the RB26DETT, down the road. Also has a decent track and wheel-base, if you get the right coil-overs and wheel offset you can squeeze 265s in the rear and 245s in the front. It out handles some of the most expensive sports cars in the world if you tune it properly, also costs much less to build and maintain. |

My car > Your car Especially Juan's car. Stupid Mexican even has the best car in his av/sig right now. OBVIOUS. |
Veilside RX-7 Fortune.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/veilside.jpg Drop a 20B into one if these things and I would never have any desire to drive another car for the rest of my days. But if I had to drive another car, I'd want it to be a 68 Dodge Charger R/T http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...hehouse026.jpg |
http://i12.tinypic.com/66kalfl.png
It's easy on the eyes and it has round headlamps. I like it, and maybe in fifteen years I may be able afford one. |

Currently, my favourite cars are the Spyker C12: http://images.businessweek.com/ss/06...laturbie_1.jpg or the Noble M15: http://www.pistonheads.com/pics/news...ble_m15-05.jpg They're both pretty fucking quick, sexy as anything and rare enough that you're never really going to pass another one without being so expensive you need to choose between a car or a house. The Spyker is Dutch but the Noble is further proof that although our general autmotive industry died long ago, Britain still make the best sports cars in the world by a massive margin. |

My family has a 2005 Honda S2000 in candy apple red. It's a pretty nice looking car, but the fucking thing has terrible suspension. I guess since it's based off a racer, but seriously...it's the bumpiest car I've ever ridden in. Needs some shocks like whoa. I guess the whole convertible-ness and hottness of the car makes up for it ultimately being uncomfortable. Kinda like women's shoes, I'd imagine. |

Back to the classics http://www.steamcar.net/doble/doble-e10.jpg The picture is of a 1924 Doble Type E. This car had a top speed of more than 110mph and could accelerate from 0 - 75 in about 10 seconds. The engine put out close to 1000 lb/ft of torque at zero RPM so it had no need for a transmission, it only had a hand operated throttle (built into the steering wheel) and a reverse lever. Best of all, the 314 c.i. engine made almost no noise and ran on kerosene. There is nothing like the power of steam. Now something a little more modern. http://www.diseno-art.com/images/ultima_gtr.jpg Ultima GTR, even with the factory set up these things will smoke any product car on a track. Those looking for even more performance opt to put a big block V8 instead of the chevy small block from the factory. If I were to ever get into racing this would be the platform I'd want to use. |
I used to like the S2000 until I drove one.
When Honda shattered all of my dreams, I was going to buy one earlier this year, but I test drove it and I realized just how fucking heavy it is for its size. I came to the realization that my Integra is faster than the S2000. Yeah, the S2000 is RWD, but it's got a good 600~800lbs. on my Integ, and I actually have more WHP in my Integ than a stock S2k. Go figure. |
I have a feeling that my choice will be unpopular, but (for some reason) the Bentley Continental Flying Spur struck me as an absolute joy to drive.
