Gamingforce Fantasy Football

Yes, since Yahoo is now allowing registration for fantasy leagues, I suppose its a good a time as any to start up GFFFL. This'll be open to any and all who want to join. All the information is below. Currently the draft date is set for Sunday, September 2nd, 2pm EST. I figured I'd start the league up now so we can sort out all the times and dates needed.

League ID : 84124
League Password : gamingforce
League URL : http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/84124
Current Draft Date : Sunday, September 2nd, 2pm EST

Best of luck to all who join.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jun 19, 2007 10:47 PM

I'm in. Should be another fun season.

knkwzrd Jun 20, 2007 09:28 AM

I know already that I won't be around on the draft date, so I'm gonna pass this year. Last year was a good time though.

Dopefish Jun 20, 2007 09:37 AM

In for the win.

Domino Jun 20, 2007 11:17 AM

I know nothing about NFL, but I am willing to give it a go. Should be fun.

Dopefish Jun 20, 2007 11:37 AM

Last place goes to...

Domino Jun 20, 2007 12:25 PM

Heh, I might surprise you all and do well in this.

knkwzrd Jun 20, 2007 12:42 PM

Hell, didn't BucPride come in last place last year? Goes to show knowledge of the game isn't everything.

BucPride Jun 20, 2007 02:18 PM

I think I came in 2nd or 3rd to last. I won the year prior though. A lot of luck with injury plays into things. And the date can be changed, just so long as you give me a date that you're available; I don't want to seclude anyone.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jun 20, 2007 03:22 PM

I'd like to see you in it, too, knk. Suggest a date and we'll see if we can all work around it.

knkwzrd Jun 20, 2007 03:35 PM

Cool, cool. Does September 1st or 2nd work?

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jun 20, 2007 03:36 PM

Should work for me, as long as it's reasonably late in the evening.

Ryuu Jun 20, 2007 06:20 PM

I'm in.

Got third last year, so hopefully I can break the top 2 this year.

BucPride Jun 20, 2007 06:25 PM

Consider it changed. Sunday, September 2nd, 8:30pm EST. That is up for change as well. This is why I wanted to make the league now so we can sort all the dates and times out while things are still available.

Domino Jun 21, 2007 11:38 AM

That's not a good time for me, I'm 5 hours ahead of you guys.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jun 21, 2007 11:41 AM

If it's on the weekend, early afternoon would be ideal.

knkwzrd Jun 21, 2007 12:21 PM

Early afternoon is good with me as well.

BucPride Jun 21, 2007 01:30 PM

2pm on the same day (EST) sound good for everyone?

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jun 21, 2007 01:31 PM

Sure.

knkwzrd Jun 21, 2007 01:38 PM

Yeah, sounds good.

BucPride Jul 5, 2007 04:06 PM

Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone else wants to get involved. I'd like to see around 8-10 teams for this league, but so long as we keep the 6 that are around, I'll be content. Again, the draft time is malleable, so just let me know if you cant make it and I'll work around your schedule as best I can.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jul 5, 2007 04:07 PM

I'd love to see more than six teams, so, even if you know nothing about football, or can't make the draft, or whatever, just join. It'll be fun! I swear!

knkwzrd Jul 5, 2007 04:10 PM

Capo, didn't you not make the draft last year?

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jul 5, 2007 04:11 PM

Yes. :(

Dopefish Jul 5, 2007 04:13 PM

6 teams is nice, but 8 or 10 is best.

knkwzrd Jul 5, 2007 04:13 PM

Well, I was the one who dropped Frank Gore opening week. :(

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Jul 5, 2007 04:13 PM

Thanks for that, by the way.

bighunt Jul 16, 2007 02:35 PM

Count me in again too!!

Callaway Jul 18, 2007 01:01 PM

I just signed up! Good luck to you all!

Rollins Aug 2, 2007 03:50 PM

Doeth! Why didn't this turn up in my search?

Edit: And oh yeah, I'm ready to defend my 2nd place finish =/

dagget Aug 2, 2007 11:14 PM

I'll try it again this season. Fox Havens for my team.

knkwzrd Sep 1, 2007 02:12 PM

Just posting to remind everyone that the draft is TOMORROW at 1:00 PM central standard time.

bighunt Sep 2, 2007 04:56 AM

F--K Yeah! utter domination!! unless i get 4th-8th in the draft order!

BucPride Sep 2, 2007 09:25 AM

I have to unfortunately go to work today, 11-6:30. Hopefully the computer out-drafts everyone and I end up with a team that'll finish somewhere above last.

Good luck to those who show up to the draft.

Domino Sep 2, 2007 11:40 AM

I had very nearly forgotten about this, thanks for the reminder. Good luck everyone, I know I'm going to need it.

Ryuu Sep 2, 2007 12:15 PM

Oh, man, I thought it was yesterday. Thanks for the reminder - looks like ~45 minutes until the draft starts.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Sep 2, 2007 12:37 PM

I thought I overslept and missed it. Whoo.

dagget Sep 2, 2007 02:15 PM

Good luck to all. At least this time I didn't forget and came in after it had already started.

dagget Dec 3, 2007 02:34 PM

I have to bump this to ask if this year has not been the WEIRDEST YEAR for Fantasy Football. I thought I had lost a week against someone who apparently hasn't been keeping tabs on their team (had like 4 people either O or IR) but then the score got changed up a couple days later in my favor. This week Dope lost by not even a full fucking point (as far as we know atm anyway, I'm waiting for it to change before Thursday)

This is just uncanny. :|

Also I like how I bench Steve Smith (due to "expert advice") and Panthers won against SF yesterday.

knkwzrd Dec 3, 2007 03:44 PM

For the whole first half of this season, I had the highest amount of total points but was losing my matchups every week. It was the strangest thing.

nazpyro Dec 3, 2007 06:24 PM

I'm not in this league, but it really has been a weird year for fantasy football. The outlook on next year's draft is that it's gonna be hella different. Most RBs were weak sauce this year. It's been all about QBs and WRs this year, and this year's free agency was one of the most crucial ones I've known. There'll definitely be more QBs in the top ten next year, and probably even some WRs... but then watch next year be the return of the running backs.

dagget Dec 3, 2007 07:03 PM

This is the second year I started doing the FF thing. Last year I looked and was like 1-12. My bad because I never kept up with it. This year I've been keeping up with it and I know if it wasn't for Adrien Peterson, I would have been fucked so many times. Before the scores get tallied, I think I have the most points so far, but in 3rd place...

Dopefish Dec 6, 2007 11:15 AM

Aww, I thought I was going to be the one to bring this thread back from the dead.

Yeah, when I noticed I had lost by .12 points I was a little frustrated. But that's fantasy football for ya.

Oh, wait. The Yahoo Fantasy Football gods adjusted someone's stats for me and gave me the bump over Nash(?). WOOT.

I'm very surprised I ended up in first this year. I can definitely chalk that up to playing the waiver wire well, though draft gave me most of current starting lineup. (I picked up Chester Taylor a few weeks ago and he got me 30 points. Case in point.)

I would like to point out that half the teams in the playoffs were below .500. So I'm not worried much.

dagget Dec 8, 2007 06:17 AM

heh, I saw that and was like "yep figures." it's ok though. I'm just glad I'm not in DEAD LAST this time. I expect to lose this week, maybe next. I guess it all depends on how well Steve Smith does... my only problem is do I play Bush or Gore. :|

Dopefish Dec 10, 2007 01:15 AM

Phew, that was close. I could've put 140 points up but Jay Cutler just HAD to do better than David Gerrard. Nevertheless, I was worried heading into the night game, but Joseph Addai sealed the deal.

dagget Dec 10, 2007 05:13 AM

With as shitty as Carolina's been playing, I should have known better than to start Smith. Plus I read Peterson got shutdown against the 49ers. So yeah, I'm pretty sure I lost in opening rounds of playoffs.

Anyways, GG to all and can't wait for next year.

Oh lovely. Bush probably out for the game on Monday... yeah. lol I lost. :tpg:

knkwzrd Dec 10, 2007 12:01 PM

Reggie wouldn't have garnered you 30+ points anyway. Don't blame it all on him. :tpg:

dagget Dec 10, 2007 05:51 PM

Nah, even though I had really good potential players this year, they were mostly people who didn't really have a good year. I'll do better next year. :)

Dopefish Dec 23, 2007 05:08 PM

Well, I'm gonna lose. Second place ain't bad.

knkwzrd Dec 24, 2007 12:43 AM

I would have had first place overall if I would have benched different players last week. I cleaned the fuck up this week.

dagget Dec 24, 2007 07:18 AM

6th place for me more than likely. Green Bay kinda fucked me over and I was hoping Vikings wouldn't fuck up, but they did.

Ryuu Dec 25, 2007 05:13 PM

Ah... fourth place. :/ 2nd place in terms of overall record.

Disappointing but in the end it was Tony Romo (who I was riding on for a while - aside from LT) who failed for me in terms of points.

Ah well... same time next year? :P

dagget Dec 25, 2007 06:35 PM

Yep 6th place. 4th in overall points. Not too bad. a huge improvement from 1-12 from last year. :P

And yea, I'll be around for next season's game. :)
