GFF Risk 6: United States of Anarchy

GAME OVER; IDENTITY CRISIS WINS!

Everyone gets 4 turns per day. All players begin with 1 Tank, 1 Energy Boost and 20 gil. The wiki is mostly up to date, but there might be a few of the new things that I haven't changed yet.

LINK TO RULES IN WIKI
Minor Rule Changes for This Game:
-Becoming a Warlord requires 9 states (instead of 8).

-The definition of Spies, Satellite Defenses, and Atomic Bombs have been greatly altered.

-Trading countries on a 1-1 ratio is allowed (must trade equally). Items/Gil/Turns may still be given away.

-Ninja use will be limited to 3 times per game.

-Shock & Awe becomes an Alliance Item (and conquers 6 states for an even number)

Major changes:
-At the beginning of each day (starting Wednesday), I will award a new item to all surviving players. These items may be traded, but they will not be transferred as spoils of war. If a player has one of these items in their possession upon death, that item will be lost.

Weapons of the Day
6/13: Sexy Beam: Use your wily charms to take 10 gil from one other player.
6/14: Mime of Distraction: Use the power of pantomime to make one player lose one turn.
6/15: Friendly Gesture: In the interests of goodwill, you grant a player (other than yourself) an extra turn. This doesn't take turns from you.
6/16: Highly Ineffective Mongoose: Use this like a Tank, but it only has a 1 in 3 chance of working.

Arms Dealer
(15) Tanks: Take over one state on the map. Automatic win in battle.
(15) Energy Boost: Gain 2 extra turns for the day.
(20) Spies: Find out the items that all other players possess, find out what items are in play (such as Ninjas), and see all numbers submitted in for attacks/defenses against you for one day. This item's use won't be announced. If the user approves, I will go ahead and submit the statistically optimal number on their behalf, to keep the game moving.
(20) Chemical Weapons: An opponent loses 3 turns for the day.
(20) Satellite Defenses: Defend against all item use for one day (like other defenses, must be used preemptively). This item’s use won’t be announced. THIS ITEM CANNOT BE USED ON THE LAST DAY.
(25) Atomic Bomb: Take over at least 1 state, with the possibility of taking up to 4 adjoining states. When using this item, post the 4 states you want, in order of priority. I’ll roll a die, and determine how many you’ll actually take (1-4).
(25) Blitzkrieg: Conquer 2 adjoining territories. Automatic win in battle.
(30) Ninjas: Send in 2 numbers for every attack and defense you make during one day (doubles your chances of winning each battle). This item's use won't be announced. Limited to 3 uses per game.
(35) Death Ray: Conquer 3 adjoining territories at once. Automatic win in battle.

Alliance Items: These items are purchased by 2 players together, either by both PMing me or both posting in the thread. The purchase price and the spoils are split evenly.
(40) Double Team: Conquer any 2 countries and take 2 turns (which you can use yourself) from an opposing player.
(80) Shock and Awe: Conquer 6 adjoining territories and make each affected player lose 1 turn (if they have any remaining).

Chart of who owns what
Map, last updated Monday, 11:10pm:

Yeldarb Jun 12, 2007 08:43 AM

I'm so lucky, and it's 9am. So I'll annex Tennessee and Arkansas.

Smelnick Jun 12, 2007 10:41 AM

Well. Talk about like. I'm going to annex to Montana and Wyoming.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 12, 2007 10:42 AM

I'll go ahead and annex Maine BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!

Hey Smelnick, you only get one of those. We're not cool like those list people. :(

Domino Jun 12, 2007 11:04 AM

Shiny, two states. I'll annex Illinois and Nebraska

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 11:10 AM

I'm trying to keep the chart as up to date as I can today (got nothing better to do). I didn't put Smelnick's choices down, since he's got to pick one of those first.

Smelnick Jun 12, 2007 11:12 AM

Oh, Wyoming first then. Helps to read the rules eh?

Dullenplain Jun 12, 2007 11:13 AM

Oklahoma it is.

Identity Crisis Jun 12, 2007 11:19 AM

I'll be taking Maryland now that :nazfail: has been temporarily evacuated from its premises.

Plarom Jun 12, 2007 11:40 AM

Mmm.. It feels good returning to our Risk roots! Connecticut and Rhode Island need some serious annexing!

orion_mk3 Jun 12, 2007 12:48 PM

Missouri and Arkansas for teh annex, please.

Alternate choices: Kansas and Montana.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 12:55 PM

How's about Missouri and Kansas, since Yeldarb already took Arkansas. With a little paint, it's just as good.

orion_mk3 Jun 12, 2007 01:45 PM

I'd prefer the mighty Ur-Kansas, but regular Kansas is dandy.

ctu Jun 12, 2007 01:46 PM

*WTF* I thought I posted something ehre and now it won't even show :(

I would like to annex Vermont

Smelnick Jun 12, 2007 01:48 PM

for another turn I'll annex to Montana as well.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 01:55 PM

Smelnick is 0-2 so far. You're only allowed to annex 1 state (unless you're one of the chosen people), because I'm trying to distribute territory as evenly as possible. You can use your turns to attack if you want (but you can't attack Montana, at least not yet).

Smelnick Jun 12, 2007 02:11 PM

Wow, sorry bout that. I'm a little off lol.

ctu Jun 12, 2007 02:12 PM

I check the wikki and I did not see a answer to a question I have, but are items like tanks 1 time use only? I am sure they would have to be, but I like to ask first and not assume anything

Ryuu Jun 12, 2007 02:24 PM

Annexing Delaware.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 02:24 PM

Yes, all items are one use only. Some items, like Ninjas or Satellite Defenses, stay in effect for one day, but then you'd need to buy more.

Something else to emphasize for the new folks: everything happens chronologically. In other words, if someone attacks you, you can't defend against it by purchasing Ninjas after they attack. You have to PM me to tell me you're using an item like Ninjas before it takes effect. Items such as Chemical Weapons, Ninjas, Satellite Defenses and Spies, you can tell me the night before you want to use them, and I'll make them active the following day, but any other item cannot be used preemptively (i.e., telling me you want to use Tanks first thing the next morning).

Hope that's not too confusing.

So if I wanted to use my tank I would say I was going to use it when I am declaring my attack on my target state?

Items are independent of turns/attacks. You get 4 turns each day. In addition to that, you can buy and use any number of items you want, as long as you've got the money. In other words, you could make a post like this (you don't have to post everything at once, if you don't want to):

Quote:

I'm attacking Kansas, North Carolina, California and Wisconsin.

I'm also using Tanks to take South Carolina.
Some people like to post all at once, while others post an attack here and there, waiting to see how other battles turn out.

ctu Jun 12, 2007 03:09 PM

ok thanks :) I got it now.

I will use two turns and annex New Hampshire and Maine into my ownership

Well...

As I already told Smelnick, you can't annex anymore states, so that rules out New Hampshire. Tritoch already owns Maine, so if you want to attack it, you can do that.

Oh I guess I need to pay more attation to the list, but I thought you said I could use a turn to take a state (or can I only take states that are owened for the rest of the day now?

Correct, you can only use a turn to attack from now on.

ctu Jun 12, 2007 03:21 PM

Well rgr that. Then I chose to attack New Jersey I'll pm the number in a few.

The_Griffin Jun 12, 2007 05:18 PM

I'll annex Nebraska and South Dakota.

Domino Jun 12, 2007 05:29 PM

Wisconsin
Kentucky
Wyoming
Colorado

Will all submit to the English invasion!!

Domino already beat you to Nebraska, but you're welcome to South Dakota.

Does no one read the first post?

Also, just because it annoys me, I won't be typing underscores or "The"s in people's names.

The_Griffin Jun 12, 2007 06:17 PM

In that case, I'll take New Hampshire instead *shrug*

The_Melomane Jun 12, 2007 07:04 PM

I'll annex Washignton DC and ALL OF CANADA!!! Montana

You do know I own New York right so you can't annex it

Yeldarb Jun 12, 2007 07:14 PM

Florida.
Georgia
Alabama
and Mississippi

I'll send in numbers soon.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 07:32 PM

Why are you attacking yourself, Yeldarb? You own Georgia.

And I'm going to assume you mean Washington, DC, Melomane, because Washington state is already taken.

The_Melomane Jun 12, 2007 07:35 PM

Okay,
I'll ATTACK --New York, Arizona, and Georgia

Also, I'll send in a PM for defenses and attacks for the days that I'll be gone.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 07:39 PM

I just realized, I forgot to say everyone gets 4 turns today. I just took it for granted.

ctu Jun 12, 2007 07:51 PM

cool I guess I can get 3 more attacks in today :P

Well I am starting to think I need a ally if I want to last more then 2 days :P

The_Melomane Jun 12, 2007 07:53 PM

Don't ally with me. You're sure to die then.

Melo=INSTANT DEATH!!!!!11ONE

I'll remember that. I guess I need to find somebody that can help me make it for a few days (at least till I can do something cool that is)

The_Griffin Jun 12, 2007 08:23 PM

I will attack Connecticut, New Jersey, Montana and Oregon. Sending numbers in.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 09:28 PM

First battle results:

-Yeldarb/ctu for Florida: Yeldarb conquers
-Melomane/ctu for New York: ctu defends
-Griffin/Melomane for Montana: Griffin conquers

Smelnick Jun 12, 2007 09:42 PM

Montana, Idaho, California, Oregon

Yah!

Identity Crisis Jun 12, 2007 09:44 PM

Time for retaliation! I'll be attacking Montana and Nebraska for my first two turns.

I'll think up of more attacks later this evening.

Zergrinch Jun 12, 2007 10:05 PM

Dang, since Domino is attacking orion_mk3, I can only assume Team POD isn't in effect in this game.

O well.

Dullenplain Jun 12, 2007 10:08 PM

I'll be attacking Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico and Arizona.

nuttyturnip Jun 12, 2007 10:09 PM

By the way, as I did last game, I'll be reusing numbers for stacked attacks if I don't get a separate number (like Griffin/(ctu/agreatguy6). Greatguy is probably going to forfeit, and I'll reuse ctu's number on the Griffin battle if I don't get a different one from him, just to move things along.

Speaking of agreatguy6, if he doesn't show up before 9am to claim Massachusetts, anyone can annex it after that. He'll be dead if he doesn't submit a defense for NJ by 4:21pm tomorrow.

Final results for the evening:
-Domino/Melomane for Kentucky: Domino conquers
-Domino/Smelnick for Wyoming: Domino conquers
-Domino/Identity Crisis for Colorado: Identity Crisis conquers
-Melomane/Smelnick for Arizona: Melomane conquers
-Griffin/Identity Crisis for Oregon: Griffin conquers
-Smelnick/Griffin for Montana: Smelnick conquers
-Smelnick/Melomane for California: Smelnick conquers
-Smelnick/Griffin for Oregon: Griffin defends
-Identity Crisis/Smelnick for Montana: Identity Crisis conquers

Yeah I want to just reuse that number if he dose not show up :P

Tho I did not even see anybody else trying to take NJ guess I need to pay more attention :P

The_Melomane Jun 12, 2007 10:37 PM

Who owns Connecticut?

Plarom Jun 12, 2007 10:47 PM

Aaaariiight.

Lets start by attacking Indiana, Louisiana, Vermont, and Washington D.C.!

Additional Spam:
I'll have to submit a number before you find out, Melo! :D

orion_mk3 Jun 12, 2007 10:53 PM

I suppose I'd better sneak in my day's actions before 12 PM EST and then be fresh as a daisy for tomorrow.

Day 1 Turn 1: Attack Illinois
Day 1 Turn 2: Attack Ohio
Day 1 Turn 3: Attack Kentucky
Day 1 Turn 4: Attack Lake Michigan

If this is too late to count, make the first two moves my opening Wednesday moves and I'll input the others later.

Ryuu Jun 12, 2007 11:40 PM

I thought days went from 9am - 9am EST. :/

If I missed it, then these are my attacks for today (if I made it, then awesome):

1) Maryland
2) Pennsylvania
3) Kentucky
4) Indiana

ctu Jun 12, 2007 11:51 PM

Well I hope this still count for the first dayso I can use the last attacks for the day

2: Erie
3:Ontario
4:New Hampshire

They do go from 9am-9am; what made you think otherwise?

Additional Spam:
A new day is upon us. The_Melomane is surprisingly on the brink of elimination; unless she wins her attack on Georgia, she's dead, and Plarom gets the spoils.

A shiny new item has been awarded to everyone; as stated, these "items of the day" cannot be acquired through spoils of war, but may be traded.

-Sexy Beam: Use this item to take 10 gil from one opponent.

Now for the battle results. Remember, I can't update the map from work, so use the Excel chart to track who owns what.

-Domino/orionmk3 for Wisconsin: Domino conquers
-Yeldarb/Dullenplain for Alabama: Dullenplain defends
-Yeldarb/Dullenplain for Mississippi: Yeldarb conquers
-Griffin/Plarom for Connecticut: Griffin conquers
-Dullenplain/Melomane for Texas: Dullenplain conquers
-Dullenplain/Melomane for Arizona: Dullenplain conquers
-Plarom/Griffin for Indiana: Griffin defends
-Plarom/Melomane for DC: Plarom conquers
-Ryuu/Griffin for Indiana: Griffin defends

The_Melomane Jun 13, 2007 08:32 AM

I TOLD you I'd die soon. :(

Zergrinch Jun 13, 2007 08:35 AM

Oookay, what kind of hokey numbers have melomane been using...?!

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 08:40 AM

She's this game's orion_mk3 :p

Yeldarb Jun 13, 2007 09:58 AM

Ok I'm going to post my attacks.

Kentucky
Virginia
West Virginia
and Maryland.
Also Tanks on Utah.

I'm going to be gone from today until sunday but I've already sent in stuff for my absence so feel free to thrash me while I'm gone =D. Hopefully my defenses are strong :tpg:

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 10:12 AM

The_Melomane is now officially dead, having been stymied by Yeldarb in Georgia. Plarom gets her money, Tanks, and Energy Boost. FYI, if P.L.A.R.O.M. reforms this game, you'll have to come up with a different acronym, because A stood for African. And yes, Yeldarb did send in a nice detailed list of attacks/defenses, which per the rules will be posted at 9PM each day.

Also, lol @ Tritoch for forgetting to attack yesterday. Good thing his defenses were secure.

-Melomane/Yeldarb for Georgia: Yeldarb defends
-Plarom gets spoils of war 23 gil and 2 items
-Smelnick/Tritoch for Idaho: Tritoch defends
-Dullenplain/Yeldarb for Arkansas: Dullenplain conquers
-orionmk3/Tritoch for Lake Michigan: Tritoch defends
-Yeldarb uses Tanks to conquer Utah

EDIT: Haha, someone just randomly walked by my desk and asked me to name all the Great Lakes.

Smelnick Jun 13, 2007 10:43 AM

Also, Attacking Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico

The way I read it, Utah was tank'd just two posts ago. I'm afraid the Mormon Tabernacle is no longer yours to play with.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like Mass. is still unspoken for. I would like to remedy this.

Day 2 Turn 0: Annex Mass.

Smelnick Jun 13, 2007 10:52 AM

oh duh, thats right. Yeldarb tanked it.
I'm doing a horrible job of reading this game. ugh.

More results!

-Identity Crisis/Domino for Nebraska: Identity Crisis conquers
-orionmk3/Domino for Illinois: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3/Domino for Kentucky: Domino defends
-Ryuu/Domino for Kentucky: Domino defends
-Yeldarb/Domino for Kentucky: Domino defends

Why are you defending Kentucky so strongly, Domino? Are you hiding a secret weapons factory in the suburbs of Lexington?

Domino Jun 13, 2007 11:12 AM

shhh, don't tell anyone about that. They'll all be after it now.

orion_mk3 Jun 13, 2007 11:27 AM

Oh, great! Extra turns are always welcome.

In that case, I'll try to retake Wisconsin.

Day 2 Turn 1: Attack Wisconsin

The_Griffin Jun 13, 2007 12:09 PM

I'll attack New York. In addition, I'll use my Tanks on Alaska. Sending in the number now.

ctu Jun 13, 2007 12:53 PM

I will send my tank after Pennsylvania

Turn 1: Attack South Dakota
Turn 2: Attack New Hampshire

edit: I also target you with my new weapon the Sexy Beam

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 01:22 PM

ctu's second attack on New Hampshire is nullified, because he won New Hampshire with his attack yesterday.

Some sexy results:

-Ryuu/Griffin for Pennsylvania: Ryuu conquers
-ctu/Griffin for New Hampshire: ctu conquers
-Griffin uses Tanks to take Alaska
-ctu uses Tanks to take Pennsylvania
-ctu uses Sexy Beam to take 10 gil from Griffin. :naughty:

Plarom Jun 13, 2007 01:30 PM

I would have totally used a sexy beam on Melomane, had I not DESTROYED her first..

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 01:31 PM

More results (not as sexy):

-Dullenplain/Identity Crisis for New Mexico: Identity Crisis defends
-Plarom/ctu for Vermont: ctu defends
-Ryuu/Identity Crisis for Maryland: Identity Crisis defends
-Yeldarb/Identity Crisis for Maryland: Identity Crisis defends
-Smelnick/Identity Crisis for Colorado: Identity Crisis defends
-Smelnick/Identity Crisis for New Mexico: Identity Crisis defends
-Griffin/ctu for New York: Griffin conquers

Identity Crisis Jun 13, 2007 01:38 PM

Time to strike while the getting's good (and while I can still remember to POST MY ATTACKS).

I'll be smiting Nevada, California, Wyoming, and Arizona in the name of Team Monocle!

ctu Jun 13, 2007 01:40 PM

Guess I am still in the game....tho just barely it would seam. I guess I will have to really on my supply of WMD's to keep everybody off my back

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 01:47 PM

ctu has made effective use of the newly redesigned Atomic Bomb, nuking the maximum 4 states. Identity Crisis posted his attack on California 1 minute after ctu dropped the bomb, so he's fighting for a nuclear wasteland at the moment.

-ctu/Plarom for Lake Erie: Plarom defends
-ctu/Plarom for Lake Ontario: Plarom defends
-ctu drops an Atomic Bomb on Oregon, and the fallout spreads to Washington, Idaho and California (they all belong to ctu now).

ctu Jun 13, 2007 02:00 PM

Well now I know I am still in the game I am going to have to liberate my states from my enemy

I attack
2:New York
3:Alaska
4:Florida
I will be pm'ing the numbers right after I post this.

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 03:31 PM

agreatguy6 is now officially dead (agreatguy, we never knew ye). ctu gets his Tanks and Energy Boost.

Insert joke about radioactivity and Identity Crisis here.

-ctu/agreatguy6 for New Jersey: ctu conquers (no number)
-Griffin/ctu for New Jersey: ctu defends
-Identity Crisis/ctu for California: Identity Crisis conquers

orion_mk3 Jun 13, 2007 03:52 PM

I would like to use my item-of-the-day to snatch 10G from Identity Crisis.

ctu Jun 13, 2007 04:27 PM

I will now attack Nevada with my tank(s).

Domino Jun 13, 2007 04:28 PM

I shall also use my Sexy Beam to swipe 10G from under the nose of Smelnick.

I'll attack Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Kansas

Smelnick Jun 13, 2007 04:48 PM

And I shall use my sexy beam to swipe that 10gil back.

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 07:35 PM

Sorry for the delay, but my cable went out while I was tabulating everything. Smelnick is on the brink of elimination; if he doesn't win in Arizona, he's finished. Identity Crisis' attack on Nevada was nullified by ctu's Tanks, so both IC and Smelnick got 1 gil.

Lots of sexy action going on tonight:

-Smelnick/Domino for Wyoming: Domino defends
-orionmk3/Domino for Wisconsin: orionmk3 conquers
-ctu/Yeldarb for Florida: ctu conquers

Time to bring sexy back!

I'll be using my Sexy Beam to take back my 10 gil from orion_mk3.

Hmm... the chart said you still had 15 gil in your possession at the time I made my post. Thrifty. =o

Really? Then I hope the chart is right, because that means I still have 5g. But I suspect that it's just a little out of date.

The_Griffin Jun 13, 2007 09:14 PM

Oh, FUCK that. I use my Sexy Beam on ctu and attack Washington and California.

Day 2 Turn 3: Attack Kentucky
Day 2 Turn 4: Attack New York

Well sorry to say, but the chart has not been updated and all your going to get is $2. Also since you are attacking me I guess I got to take you out a lot sooner then I was planing on doing so.

Dullenplain Jun 13, 2007 10:31 PM

I'll attack:

Kansas
Missouri
Nebraska
Iowa

nuttyturnip Jun 13, 2007 11:00 PM

ctu is correct; he did some spending before Griffin's Sexy Beam, so he only had 3 gil left. In a perfect world, the chart would be updated instantaneously, and Griffin would have known this, so he can keep his Sexy Beam and use it another time. Dullenplain and Ryuu both missed 24 hour deadlines, so they forfeit those attacks.

-Plarom/Dullenplain for Louisiana: Plarom conquers (no number)
-orionmk3/Ryuu for Ohio: orionmk3 conquers (no number)
-ctu/Griffin for South Dakota: Griffin defends
-ctu/Griffin for New York: ctu conquers
-ctu/Griffin for Alaska: Griffin defends
-Domino/ctu for Nevada: Domino conquers
-Domino/Identity Crisis for Colorado: Domino conquers
-Domino/orionmk3 for Kansas: Domino conquers
-orionmk3/ctu for New York: orionmk3 conquers

I'm taking off work tomorrow to run some errands, so I may not be around as much during the day. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be around at 9am, but feel free to start the day at that point. On the plus side, when I do update, I'll be able to update the map as well as the chart.

Plarom Jun 14, 2007 12:22 AM

Sexy Beam on Dullenplain, HOOOOO!!

I'm also gunning for Indiana, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland!

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 08:03 AM

Smelnick has been eliminated. Who gets the spoils is a tricky situation, because the pivotal battle turns out to be in Nevada, where Identity Crisis attacked Smelnick, but before the battle was resolved, ctu used Tanks to take the state. Originally, I had awarded 1 gil each to IC and Smelnick, but in order to solve who eliminated Smelnick, I randomly chose a number for Smelnick, and then ran the battle. IC conquered, so he gets the spoils from Smelnick.

Today's special item is the Mime of Distraction. Your mime will artfully distract one of your opponents, causing him to lose one turn.

Results:

-Smelnick/Dullenplain for Arizona: Smelnick conquers
-Identity Crisis/Smelnick for Arizona: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/Smelnick for Nevada: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis gets spoils of war 29 gil and 2 items (the original Tanks and Energy Boost)
-Dullenplain/Domino for Kansas: Dullenplain conquers
-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Missouri: Dullenplain conquers
-Plarom uses Sexy Beam to take 10 gil from Dullenplain

Zergrinch Jun 14, 2007 08:09 AM

I hereby attack Maine, Michigan, and North Dakota!

orion_mk3 Jun 14, 2007 08:15 AM

Day 3 Turn 1: I'm nuking West Virginia to bedrock.

If this attack does not give me Pennsylvania, then:

Day 3 Turn 2: Tanks on Pennsylvania.

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 08:34 AM

You'd have to survive as a Warlord until 9am tomorrow, orion, since tribute is collected at the end of each day. You might want to rethink your strategy. Also, for purposes of Warlords and items, Alaska is connected to Washington State, and Hawaii is connected to California.

-Yeldarb/Ryuu for Virginia: Ryuu defends
-Yeldarb/Ryuu for West Virginia: Ryuu defends
-Plarom/Ryuu for Delaware: Ryuu defends

EDIT: orionmk3 seems to have disappeared for a bit. He sent me a PM, but didn't list the states he wanted to target with his Atomic Bomb. I'll have to wait until he sends me that to process his attack.

I said I'd be gone for a bit in my PM. I just sent you the states.

My strategy is unaffected, though. All is proceeding according to plan :D

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 10:32 AM

Very well then. orion_mk3's nuclear bomb is another success, wiping out 4 states and making him a Warlord (for the moment). This also nullifies the pending battle for Kentucky (orionmk3/Domino); I gave 1 gil to Domino, but no extra to orion (since he got one from the nuke, and he'd just be attacking himself if he had won the battle).

-Dullenplain/Identity Crisis for Nebraska: Identity Crisis defends
-Griffin/Identity Crisis for California: Identity Crisis defends
-Plarom/Identity Crisis for Maryland: Identity Crisis defends
-orionmk3 drops an Atomic Bomb on Pennsylvania, and the fallout spreads to Virginia, Kentucky, and Maryland

EDIT: Just realized the nuke nullifies Plarom/ctu for PA as well, so I gave them each a gil.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 14, 2007 11:16 AM

Hm, I suppose after forgetting to attack two days in a row I'd better do this now. Honestly though, how am I still alive? Operation Lay Low has been a rousing success!

For my epic first attacks of the game, I'll be reclaiming Idaho and attacking Tennessee, Arkansas, and Wyoming.

Additionally, I'll be sending in tanks to conquer Delaware and dropping a newly purchased atomic bomb on West Virginia. I'll PM the other 4 possible states in a moment, but that should be the end of Ryuu.

The_Griffin Jun 14, 2007 12:32 PM

I attack New Jersey and Washington DC.

EDIT: Scratch that. Will send in different attacks later.

ctu Jun 14, 2007 12:36 PM

I use my tanks to attack Delaware

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 14, 2007 01:13 PM

You suck, ctu. Have a Mime of Distraction.

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 01:25 PM

Lots of destruction in the Mid-Atlantic has left Ryuu dead. I'll be in my bomb shelter if you need me.

-Dullenplain/Domino for Iowa: Domino defends
-Griffin/ctu for Washington: Griffin conquers
-Tritoch uses Tanks to take Delaware
-Tritoch drops an Atomic Bomb on West Virginia, and the fallout drifts into Pennsylvania
-Tritoch gets spoils of war 35 gil and 2 items (Tanks and Energy Boost)
-ctu uses Tanks to take Delaware
-ctu drops a larger Atomic Bomb on the already decimated West Virginia, and fallout further mutates the citizens of Pennsylvania, as well as Kentucky and Virginia
-Tritoch uses Mime of Distraction to make ctu lose 1 turn.

The_Griffin Jun 14, 2007 01:33 PM

Quick question: If somebody uses a Mime of Distraction on somebody to make them lose a turn, what happens if that person has already used all their turns? Nothing?

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 14, 2007 01:34 PM

Alright, I think it's time to kill Domino now with a patented four step plan!

- I buy a blitzkrieg and use it on Minnesota and Iowa.
- Ryuu's tanks will roll right on into Nevada.
- Meanwhile, I'll be Sexy Beamin' Yeldarb for 10g.
- With this newfound wealth I'll then buy two more tanks to use upon Colorado and Hawaii.

Also, I'd like to withdraw my attack on Wyoming. Instead, let's hit that bum ctu where it hurts in the highly radioactive state of Pennsylvania. I do believe I'll go laugh maniacally now.

orion_mk3 Jun 14, 2007 01:53 PM

I would also like to use my Mime on ctu, if he has any turns left. If not, I'll hold it back.

I'd also like to snap up some tanks for future use.

ctu Jun 14, 2007 01:58 PM

Thats it I will go after you with full force now

I use 1 Energy Boost and I will attack now

1: Attack North Dakota
2: Attack Lake Michigan
3: Attack Maine
4: Attack Minnesota
5: Attack Iowa

I also hit you Tritoch with my mine and take one of your turns.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 14, 2007 01:59 PM

Haha, glad I attacked Pennsylvania rather than saving that turn like I originally intended! Now your poor mime has been rendered useless. =D

Correct.

Tritoch gets a double kill and finishes off Domino.

-Tritoch uses Blitzkrieg to take Minnesota and Iowa
-Tritoch uses Tanks to take Nevada
-Tritoch uses Sexy Beam to take 10 gil from Yeldarb
-Tritoch uses Tanks to take Colorado and Hawaii
-Tritoch gets spoils of war 44 gil and 2 items (Tanks and Energy Boost)
-orionmk3 uses Mime of Distraction on ctu

ctu, your Mime fails because Tritoch already used his 4 turns for the day. Also, you lost 2 turns today, so unless you want to use another energy boost, one of those attacks has to go.

ctu Jun 14, 2007 02:15 PM

Yeah I will use my other energy boost

The_Griffin Jun 14, 2007 02:21 PM

Orion and I have reached an agreement to trade Massachusetts for Indiana.

In addition, I use my Mime of Distraction on ctu, and use my Nuclear Bomb on Virginia. I also attack Oregon and Idaho.

ctu Jun 14, 2007 02:25 PM

WTF is this pick on me and kill me off day?

orion_mk3 Jun 14, 2007 02:53 PM

As part of the trade between Griffin and myself, my attack on Indiana which was pending is now cancelled.

Domino Jun 14, 2007 03:13 PM

Damn, dead am I? Oh well, I guess I wasn't paying enough attention in this game, or is this what I get for not continuing my alliance with Plarom and orion?

I'll get you next time you pesky kids.

Oh, and Tritoch should only get 34 gil, Smelnick took the ten back off me that I took from him in the first place.

I'm fairly certain my number is correct (not that there's a way to go back and check). You and Smelnick cancelled each other out when I updated the chart at that point, so I didn't swap the 10 gil to begin with.

Wow, you guys have thrown up a lot of confusing situations for me today. The way all the Mimes (3) and Energy Boosts (2) with ctu stack out is that his 5 posted attacks stand, and he is out of turns.

As for the orion/Griffin trade, Plarom's attack on Indiana needs to be resolved first. If orionmk3 drops his attack on Indiana, then Griffin needs to submit a defense number to see if it his still his state to trade.

-Tritoch/ctu for Idaho: ctu defends
-Tritoch/ctu for Pennsylvania: ctu defends
-Griffin/ctu for Idaho: Griffin conquers

In order for me to process Griffin's Atomic Bomb, he must send me his 4 state priority list.

I presumed that the numbers hadn't been updated on the chart when I got home from work today. If I had of known that I had all that gil to play with I might still be in the game. Oh well, next time maybe.

I just went through the other posts and worked out that I had 8 successful attacks, and 5 successful defences. Add that in with the starting 20, gives me 33. Add the Sexy Beam of mine and Smelnick's and that keeps me on 33. Either way, I'm not fussed, I know how difficult this game has been to keep a track of.

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 04:39 PM

Are you counting the 5 gil everyone receives at the beginning of each day?

Domino Jun 14, 2007 04:43 PM

Oh, I didn't know about that. My mistake, I didn't realise that we were getting that each day. I'll shut up now. Sorry nutty, I'll make a point of reading all the first post next time.

EDIT: Gah, it's in the Wiki entry. I'll have to make a note of that for future games.

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 05:48 PM

No big deal, Domino. There's been a lot of confusion this game. I've got to force myself to look over the Wiki tomorrow and correct any small oversights I've left out. Speaking of, I just want to clarify the Atomic Bomb: You can conquer a maximum of 4 states with it. You drop it on the first state, then you take from 0-3 more states.

-Plarom/Griffin for Indiana: Griffin defends
-orionmk3 and Griffin exchange Indiana and Massachusetts
-Griffin drops an Atomic Bomb on Virginia, and the fallout spreads to West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The residents don't really notice much difference, because they're too busy fighting off the mutant hordes created by the first 2 bombs.

Zergrinch Jun 14, 2007 05:55 PM

Weeeell now, didn't take long for POD to unravel! Silly boys, you SHOULD have solidified an alliance before the bombs dropped, just like we did last time!

Day 3 Turn 1: Attack Missouri.
Day 3 Turn 2: Attack Kentucky.

EDIT: Ah, what the hell.

Day 3 Turn 3: Attack Lake Michigan.

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 09:16 PM

Whoops, forgot to post Yeldarb's absent attacks at 9pm.

Yeldarb attacks Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Results:
-Tritoch/Yeldarb for Tennessee: Tritoch conquers
-Griffin/ctu for Oregon: ctu defends

Dullenplain Jun 14, 2007 09:43 PM

Oh well, might as well get these out:

I want:

Nebraska
South Dakota
North Dakota
Minnesota

and I'll use my Sexy Beam on Yeldarb for fun.

orion_mk3 Jun 14, 2007 10:03 PM

Day 3 Turn 4: Attack Iowa.

nuttyturnip Jun 14, 2007 10:17 PM

Last update for the evening. Tomorrow you have to go back to using your imaginations in place of map updates.

-Tritoch/Dullenplain for Arkansas: Tritoch conquers
-orionmk3/Dullenplain for Missouri: orionmk3 conquers
-Yeldarb/Dullenplain for Texas: Yeldarb conquers
-Yeldarb/Dullenplain for Oklahoma: Yeldarb conquers
-Dullenplain uses Sexy Beam to take 10 gil from Yeldarb

Smelnick Jun 14, 2007 10:41 PM

Aw crap. My freaking internet wasn't working this morning, so I couldn't get my attacks in. darn it.

Plarom Jun 14, 2007 11:28 PM

Utah, Kansas, Florida, and Alaska!

Zergrinch Jun 15, 2007 04:22 AM

Damn if the map isn't looking a sickly shade of green!

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 08:16 AM

orionmk3 has fallen one state short of being a Warlord, thanks to the defense of ctu. No one else is even close right now.

The item of the day is Friendly Gesture. You may use this item to grant one other player (NOT yourself) one extra turn. This doesn't take one of your turns.

Results:
-orionmk3/ctu for Kentucky: ctu defends
-orionmk3/ctu for Lake Michigan: orionmk3 conquers
-Dullenplain/ctu for North Dakota: ctu defends
-orionmk3/ctu for Iowa: ctu defends
-Plarom/Yeldarb for Utah: Plarom conquers

Identity Crisis Jun 15, 2007 08:28 AM

We attack at dawn, my army! Remember, this time there's no quarter!

I'll use all four of my Energy Boosts and proceed to attack the following states:

North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Vermont, Oregon, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, and North Dakota.

FOR VICTORYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

orion_mk3 Jun 15, 2007 08:55 AM

Sweet baby Jesus doing a foxtrot on a hot cross bun.

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 09:12 AM

Identity Crisis follows up his massive attack with 3 solid defenses. Everyone will have to wait until 9pm for Yeldarb's numbers, because I told him that's when I'd post them while he's absent (on the off chance he shows up).

-Yeldarb/Identity Crisis for Arizona: Identity Crisis defends
-Yeldarb/Identity Crisis for New Mexico: Identity Crisis defends
-Dullenplain/Identity Crisis for Nebraska: Identity Crisis defends

orion_mk3 Jun 15, 2007 09:36 AM

I'll begin by launcing a much more limited offensive.

Day 4 Turn 1: Attack Iowa (again)
Day 4 Turn 2: Attack Kentucky (again)

Plarom Jun 15, 2007 09:49 AM

For supreme lols, I shall use my Friendly Gesture on Identity!

The_Griffin Jun 15, 2007 12:57 PM

Actually... I believe I currently own 10 countries. As such, I request a "donation" of 5 gil from all players affected. That includes: ctu, Identity Crisis, Yeldarb, Tritock, Plarom, and Orion_mk3.

In addition, I attack Iowa and Lake Michigan.

EDIT: Oh, and I'll probably be absent for today and a good part of tomorrow. I'm in the middle of setting up my new computer, and part of that involved the merciless slaughter of my old one.

orion_mk3 Jun 15, 2007 01:27 PM

Your states have to be connected in order to qualify for Warlord status, and you have to wait until the end of the day to demand tribute. I learned this the hard way earlier.

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 01:49 PM

What orionmk3 said. FYI, I got saddled with a big project at work this afternoon, so I'm not going to get a chance to update anything until later this evening.

ctu Jun 15, 2007 02:52 PM

WTF! I thought I just posted a attack now my post dose not show up :(

I buy a nuke and I attack
1: Indiana
2: Illinois
3: Ohio
4: Erir

I also use my turns to attack
1: Missouri
2: Wisconsin
3: New York
4: Tennessee

numbers will be pm'ed soon :D

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 15, 2007 04:24 PM

Second wave, march! Two energy boosts should be enough for this offensive.

South Dakota, Alabama, Idaho, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Virginia will all fall beneath my might!

Also, I'm using my Friendly Gesture on Identity Crisis.

Identity Crisis Jun 15, 2007 05:06 PM

I'll be using my newfound extra turns to attack Massachusetts and West Virginia!

orion_mk3 Jun 15, 2007 05:46 PM

I'm using my first unit of tanks to retake Indiana immidiately after its nuclear bombardment. The others are on standby pending the results of the roll.

I wish we could get an update, though, so I know who owns what.

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 06:08 PM

ctu lives no more, and his nuke and his attacks have been nullified. Identity Crisis did the hard work, but it was orion_mk3 who dealt the final blow.

Hopefully Griffin pops his head in to leave some defensive numbers before he leaves, because he didn't send any yet. It would be a shame for him to be eliminated by default.

-Dullenplain/Tritoch for Minnesota: Dullenplain conquers
-Plarom/ctu for Florida: Plarom conquers
-Identity Crisis/ctu for Vermont: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/ctu for Oregon: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/ctu for Delaware: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/Plarom for Florida: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/ctu for Kentucky: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/ctu for North Dakota: Identity Crisis conquers
-orionmk3/Identity Crisis for Kentucky: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3/ctu for Iowa: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3 gets spoils of war 28 gil and no items
-Griffin/orionmk3 for Iowa: orionmk3 defends

Map and chart are updated. I'll post Yeldarb's numbers (and attacks if he lives) at 9pm.

orion_mk3 Jun 15, 2007 06:43 PM

Hooray! Cancel those tanks.

Good game, by the way, ctu, especially for a newcomer (I was long-dead by this point in my first game).

Oh, and sorry about Kentucky, IC. I posted my attack before your juggernaut fell. Please don't hurt me :)

EDIT:
Speaking of which, nutty, are you sure that this is accurate?

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 08:02 PM

Yes, you did indeed take Kentucky. I'm not sure why that info didn't make it onto the map and chart, but I'll fix it now.

Yeldarb survived Identity Crisis' onslaught, so he lives to post his attacks for today, which are North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa.

Results:
-Identity Crisis/Yeldarb for North Carolina: Yeldarb defends

-Yeldarb/Identity Crisis for North Dakota: Identity Crisis defends
-Yeldarb/Identity Crisis for Nebraska: Identity Crisis defends

Zergrinch Jun 15, 2007 08:47 PM

I sense a Crisis using some ninjas!

Also totally suggesting an item to screw a player's numbers up by reversing them, using this formula (100 - [number sent]).

If he chose 20, surprise surprise, it becomes 80.

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 10:08 PM

Griffin failed to send in a number to defend South Dakota, so the fate of that state has been decided.

-Dullenplain/Griffin for South Dakota: Dullenplain conquers (no number)
-Tritoch/Dullenplain for South Dakota: Dullenplain defends
-Yeldarb/Dullenplain for South Dakota: Yeldarb conquers

orion_mk3 Jun 15, 2007 10:18 PM

I'll put in my last two turns, though there are items left to use just in case.

Day 3 Turn 3: Attack Minnesota
Day 3 Turn 4: Everyone's doin' it. Attack South Dakota

nuttyturnip Jun 15, 2007 11:34 PM

Last update before I go to bed.

-Plarom/Dullenplain for Kansas: Plarom conquers (no number)
-Plarom/Griffin for Alaska: Plarom conquers (no number)
-Yeldarb/orionmk3 for Iowa: orionmk3 defends
-orionmk3/Yeldarb for South Dakota: orionmk3 conquers

Dullenplain Jun 15, 2007 11:42 PM

I'll tear my way through the Mississippi River!

Iowa
Missouri
Arkansas
Louisiana

And I'll throw a nuke at:

1. Maine
2. New Hampshire
3. Vermont
4. Massachusetts

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 15, 2007 11:59 PM

Well, Griffin's pretty much screwed up any strategy I had for my last Energy Boost by not sending in numbers. I'll use it now on a contingency thingy to make Nutty's life complicated.

- If Griffin has three states left after all the current attacks on him (mine and IC's) then attack those two states and tank the third.
- If Griffin has only two states left then attack them.
- If Griffin has only one state left then attack it, attack North Carolina, and tank Georgia.
- If Griffin has no states left then attack North Carolina and Georgia.

As for numbers, I guess I'll send in enough for two attacks.

Plarom Jun 16, 2007 12:02 AM

Idaho, Connecticut, Alabama, and Minnesota!

Let the numbers fly!

The_Griffin Jun 16, 2007 03:27 AM

I resign from the game, and secede all states to those who are currently attacking them.

Sorry guys, I just don't have the time right now to keep up with a game this fast-paced. I had a blast though for the time I could play. =\

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 16, 2007 04:21 AM

Well, I happen to still be on my way to bed from a Tales of Legendia binge, so I'll just confirm that I'm using my final energy boost to attack North Carolina and Georgia since Griffin is now dead. With Griffin resigning my ninjas feel so wasted. :(

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 09:03 AM

It appears The_Griffin has bowed out, leaving his spoils to Identity Crisis. Yeldarb survived 2 Ninja attacks yesterday, which must be a first. orion_mk3 is poised to become a Warlord, but I need the results of his defense against Dullenplain first. Plarom sent me his attacks and defenses for today and tomorrow, but he failed to send a number for Louisiana, so if he doesn't send it by the deadline, Dullenplain will conquer that state. For the record, both Identity Crisis and Tritoch were using Ninjas yesterday (though Tritoch's failed an unusual number of times).

The item of the day is the Highly Ineffective Mongoose (HIM).
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...asaari_zoo.jpg
The HIM is used in the same way Tanks are used, to take 1 country, but the HIM is much more likely to sit around looking cute than actually attack. The odds of a Mongoose conquering a state are only 1 in 3.

Results:
-Tritoch/Dullenplain for Alabama: Tritoch conquers
-Tritoch gets Idaho, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Virginia from Griffin's resignation.
-Identity Crisis gets Massachusetts and West Virginia from Griffin's resignation.
-Identity Crisis gets spoils of war 18 gil and 1 item (Energy Boost)
-orionmk3/Dullenplain for Minnesota: Dullenplain defends
-Dullenplain/Tritoch for Arkansas: Dullenplain conquers
-Dullenplain drops an atomic bomb on Maine, and the fallout drifts into New Hampshire
-Plarom/Tritoch for Idaho: Tritoch defends
-Plarom/Tritoch for Connecticut: Tritoch defends
-Plarom/Tritoch for Alabama: Plarom conquers
-Plarom/Dullenplain for Minnesota: Plarom conquers
-Tritoch/Yeldarb for North Carolina: Tritoch conquers
-Tritoch/Yeldarb for Georgia: Yeldarb defends

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 16, 2007 09:08 AM

I'll start off the day by tanking Georgia. Isn't that everyone's dream?

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 10:10 AM

And with that, Yeldarb is dead. Now that we're down to 5 players, lets plan on ending this game Tuesday morning at 9am. I'd make it Monday, but I'd rather not end it with Plarom absent, since the last day requires a lot of plotting.

-Tritoch uses Tanks to take Georgia
-Tritoch gets spoils of war 33 gil and 1 item (Energy Boost)

Plarom Jun 16, 2007 10:21 AM

Have fun without me, gents. :D

orion_mk3 Jun 16, 2007 11:19 AM

For the first stage of today's offensive:

Day 4 Turn 1: Attack Arkansas
Day 4 Turn 2: Attack Maine
Day 4 Turn 3: Attack New Hampshire

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 02:18 PM

orion_mk3 is officially a Warlord, and exacts 20 gil tribute in total (5 from each player).

-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Iowa: orionmk3 defends
-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Missouri: Dullenplain conquers
-Dullenplain/Plarom for Louisiana: Plarom defends

Dullenplain Jun 16, 2007 07:34 PM

I'll attempt:

Illinois
Indiana
Ohio
Kentucky

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 08:12 PM

Plarom left behind strict instructions to attack Maine, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Seems he's trying to conquer the state he's visiting.

Results:
-orionmk3/Dullenplain for Arkansas: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3/Dullenplain for Maine: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3/Dullenplain for New Hampshire: orionmk3 conquers

orion_mk3 Jun 16, 2007 08:31 PM

Tanks into Missouri, please.

Scratch that, I'll do it the old-fashioned way.

Day 4 Turn 4: Attack Missouri

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 09:04 PM

Latest results:

-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Illinois: orionmk3 defends
-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Indiana: Dullenplain conquers
-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Ohio: Dullenplain conquers
-Dullenplain/orionmk3 for Kentucky: orionmk3 defends

Dullenplain Jun 16, 2007 09:12 PM

Time to nuke!

1. Wisconsin
2. Iowa
3. Illinois
4. Michigan

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 09:19 PM

Dullenplain is stayin' alive.

Results:
-orionmk3/Dullenplain for Missouri: Dullenplain defends
-Dullenplain drops an Atomic Bomb on Wisconsin, and the fallout drifts into Iowa.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 16, 2007 10:32 PM

I think I'll just go the classic route today. I'm attacking Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Also, my Highly Ineffective Mongoose is going after Missouri. Go my furry, little assassin! Go forth and conquer!

orion_mk3 Jun 16, 2007 11:06 PM

Tanks into Indiana and Ohio. Mongoose into Missouri.

Using my first Energy Tank for a little boost.

Day 4 Turn 5: Attack Wisconsin
Day 4 Turn 6: Attack Iowa

Dullenplain Jun 16, 2007 11:16 PM

It's meaningless for me to continue playing, so I'll forfeit.

Don't expect me for future games, I don't have that sort of time to plan things in this fashion.

orion_mk3 Jun 16, 2007 11:21 PM

But you were doing pretty well at hanging in there!

Lots of pull-outs this game :(

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 16, 2007 11:58 PM

These attacks and items feel so wasted when people just end up dropping out. :(

nuttyturnip Jun 16, 2007 11:58 PM

I like how after 6 versions of this game, we still have people dropping out towards the end because "they don't have time". You'd think they would have figured that out before now.

Since in the past when a player withdrew I awarded their states to whoever was attacking them, I used that philosophy here. Since Tritoch attacked first, he wins the states by default, and he gets the spoils because his Mongoose decided to do its job.

Results:
-Plarom/Tritoch for Pennsylvania: Plarom conquers
-Plarom/Tritoch for Virginia: Plarom conquers
-Tritoch gets Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa from Dullenplain
-Tritoch's Highly Ineffective Mongoose takes Missouri
-Tritoch gets spoils of war 5 gil and 2 items (Tanks and Energy Boost)
-orionmk3 uses Tanks to take Indiana and Ohio
-orionmk3's Highly Ineffective Mongoose lives up to its name and fails to take Missouri.

In my case it is called peer pressure.

Never again!:D

The_Griffin Jun 17, 2007 03:31 AM

and in my case it's called "I didn't read the other damn threads, much less keep up with the past games." :p

Zergrinch Jun 17, 2007 06:06 AM

Wusses. Now your withdrawal will do naught save to strengthen Tritoch :(

nuttyturnip Jun 17, 2007 10:58 AM

Looks like Identity Crisis forgot to attack yesterday. No new results to report this morning. orion_mk3 might be a Warlord, but it depends on how his attacks on Tritoch go.

I won't be giving any items of the day today and tomorrow. The game is too close, and Plarom isn't around to use them, so I'd rather the winner triumph on his own.

Additional Spam:
More results:
-Plarom/Identity Crisis for Massachusetts: Plarom conquers
-Plarom/Identity Crisis for West Virginia: Identity Crisis defends

Additional Spam:
Betrayal:
-orionmk3/Tritoch for Wisconsin: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3/Tritoch for Iowa: orionmk3 conquers
-orionmk3 collects 15 gil as Warlord
-Identity Crisis and Tritoch use Shock & Awe to take Lake Michigan, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, and orionmk3 loses 1 turn.

In case anyone didn't know, orion_mk3 used Ninjas yesterday.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 17, 2007 08:11 PM

Wow, so few posts today. I'll go ahead and use three of my turns to lay siege to Wisconsin, Iowa, and Arkansas.

Let's also have a little nuclear fun by purchasing an atomic bomb to drop on New York with possible fallout in the following order:
- Lake Erie
- Pennsylvania
- Lake Ontario

nuttyturnip Jun 17, 2007 08:23 PM

Plarom attacks New Hampshire, Lake Michigan, Hawaii and Florida today.

-Tritoch drops an Atomic Bomb on New York, and the fallout drifts over Lake Erie

orion_mk3 Jun 17, 2007 08:53 PM

It's Father's Day today, hence the quietude. Anyhoo:

I'd like to purchase a Death Ray and use it on Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.

My remaining attacks:
Day 5 Turn 1: Attack Lake Michigan
Day 5 Turn 2: Attack Missouri
Day 5 Turn 3: Attack Kentucky

nuttyturnip Jun 17, 2007 10:26 PM

Final results for the evening. A head's up: I've got a lengthy project that I have to do at work tomorrow, involving printing out thousands of emails. I may not be able to update the game around 9am, but if I don't get a chance in the morning, I'll do it during my lunch hour. It shouldn't be a big deal, since at this stage of the game, everyone waits until nighttime to attack.

Results:
-Plarom/orionmk3 for New Hampshire: Plarom conquers
-Tritoch/orionmk3 for Wisconsin: orionmk3 defends
-Tritoch/orionmk3 for Iowa: orionmk3 defends
-Tritoch/orionmk3 for Arkansas: orionmk3 defends
-orionmk3 uses a Death Ray to take Michigan, Indiana and Illinois

Identity Crisis Jun 18, 2007 01:29 AM

I'd better get in some attacks while I still remember!

Attacking Lake Ontario, Lake Superior, Illinois, and Indiana.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 18, 2007 05:31 AM

I have risen early this morning thanks to some annoying errands, but how lucky that is. Apparently I forgot to ever place a fourth attack, so I'll do that now against Alaska.

Spoiler:
Stupid financial aid office people. :(

nuttyturnip Jun 18, 2007 07:44 AM

I wouldn't have thought it possible with only 4 players remaining, but there are no Warlords today. orion_mk3's Ninjas were highly ineffective (he must have hired the same group that Tritoch had the other day).

Results:
-Plarom/Tritoch for Lake Michigan: Tritoch defends
-Plarom/Tritoch for Hawaii: Plarom conquers
-Plarom/Identity Crisis for Florida: tie, resubmit numbers
-orionmk3/Tritoch for Lake Michigan: Tritoch defends
-orionmk3/Tritoch for Missouri: Tritoch defends
-orionmk3/Tritoch for Kentucky: orionmk3 conquers
-Identity Crisis/Plarom for Lake Ontario: Identity Crisis conquers
-Identity Crisis/Plarom for Lake Superior: Identity Crisis conquers
-Tritoch/Plarom for Alaska: Plarom defends

Zergrinch Jun 18, 2007 08:11 AM

I disagree that it is even. Evil Tritoch obviously has a few Death Rays up his sleeve!

When did I say anything about things being even?

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 18, 2007 09:40 AM

Zerg thinks far too highly of my planning abilities. I've only got a nuke stash. :(

Spoiler:
It turns out of all the days to come drop off a few papers at school I chose Freshman Orientation day with heavy road construction at all entrances, so don't bet on my offline planning prowess either.

You said things were "too close". And that means "even" in my book! :D

By the way, has anybody used the new and improved spies?

nuttyturnip Jun 18, 2007 10:02 AM

No one. I'd think they'd be pretty useful, but apparently not. I like how the Ninjas have sucked this game, though.

Plarom Jun 18, 2007 01:13 PM

Hey nutty, would you mind PMing me a reminder as to what items I own? :eagletear:

Oi, I had a feeling it would come down to this! I was tempted to throw in the towel too, but fighting to the bitter end will probably be more fun.

Lake Erie
Lake Michigan
Washington
Iowa

orion_mk3 Jun 18, 2007 03:44 PM

I'll have to post my moves later tonight; lots of other GFF business to mop up first.

nuttyturnip Jun 18, 2007 06:27 PM

No news, but the chart and map are updated. I could have sworn I did the chart this morning.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 18, 2007 07:43 PM

I like how everyone's targetting me instead of the guy who's actually in the lead. That's alright though. Team Monocle will secure victory whether or not you plan to cooperate. :tpg:

I'm attacking Virginia, Washington DC, Alaska, and Alabama.

nuttyturnip Jun 18, 2007 08:21 PM

Results:

-Plarom/Tritoch for Lake Erie: Tritoch defends
-Plarom/Tritoch for Lake Michigan: Tritoch defends
-Plarom/Tritoch for Washington: Tritoch defends

orion_mk3 Jun 18, 2007 08:44 PM

Okay, just a quick one:

I'd like to use what's left in my bank account to buy Tanks, which will roll into Missouri (whoever owns it).

Day 5 Turn 1: Attack West Virginia
Day 5 Turn 2: Attack Tennessee
Day 5 Turn 3: Attack Ohio
Day 5 Turn 4: Attack L. Michigan

I don't think I'll be able to win with these moves, but staying until the last day is victory in and of itself.

nuttyturnip Jun 18, 2007 10:12 PM

Last update of the night. Have fun with the free-for-all.

-Identity Crisis/orionmk3 for Illinois: orionmk3 defends
-Identity Crisis/orionmk3 for Indiana: orionmk3 defends
-Plarom/orionmk3 for Iowa: orionmk3 defends
-orionmk3 uses Tanks to take Missouri

Identity Crisis Jun 19, 2007 12:21 AM

For this day, I'll attack Utah, Louisiana, Lake Huron, and Missouri.

Also, I'll be buying a Blitzkrieg to conquer Wisconsin and Minnesota. I'd buy an Atomic Bomb, but I really don't want to be looking back and forth between the chart and the graph to find out how to maximize the damage.

nuttyturnip Jun 19, 2007 08:04 AM

At this point it's pretty clear that Identity Crisis has won the game, but 2nd place is still too close to call. We'll have to wait until the numbers come in. Surprisingly, Plarom had a huge arsenal of items (2 tanks, 2 energy boosts, 1 atomic bomb and 1 Death Ray), which he asked me about yesterday, but never got around to using them. Crushed by the GFF meet.

-Plarom/Identity Crisis for Florida: Plarom conquers
-orionmk3/Identity Crisis for West Virginia: Identity Crisis defends
-orionmk3/Identity Crisis for Ohio: Identity Crisis defends
-Identity Crisis uses Blitzkrieg to take Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Plarom Jun 19, 2007 10:23 AM

Aw snap! I was about to use all my items as a last ditch effort..

Congrats, I.C.! If I did forfeit the game I planned on giving you all my items, only because you've yet to win a game. Clearly, that wasn't even necessary! :D

Zergrinch Jun 19, 2007 11:36 AM

Yeah, congratulations Identity Crisis! I've been observing you, and you seem quite a trustworthy fellow, unlike other members of Team Monocle!

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 19, 2007 06:13 PM

Wait, wasn't TODAY the last day? I still had items to use too. :(

nuttyturnip Jun 19, 2007 06:14 PM

There's been a message up since Saturday morning saying the game ended at 9am today.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 20, 2007 07:26 AM

Since nutty never updated this, I'll assume that no one ever sent in any numbers. Hell, I somehow managed to miss that I was one of the people who needed to. :tpg:

Anyway, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce the stunning victory of TEAM MONOCLE!

1st Place: Identity Crisis
2nd Place: Tritoch
3rd Place: Orion_Mk3
4th Place: Plarom

nuttyturnip Jun 20, 2007 07:48 AM

I didn't update because some of those battles didn't expire until early this morning. But yes, if you factor in all the defaults, Team Monocle wins this round.

I talked to RockgamerXIII last night, and he said he's available starting the first week of July, but since that's Independence Day and lots of folks take vacations then, I'll wait until the next week to start up the next game. It wouldn't hurt to take a little break from Risk, since we've had 2 games in a row in rapid succession. I'm searching my brain trying to devise some other kind of game to pass the time, however.

Plarom Jun 20, 2007 09:59 AM

Cheers to P.O.I.T.!

Identity Crisis Jun 20, 2007 01:01 PM

Woo! A Team Monocle victory! Now all we gotta do is conquer all of the other countries at the world will be ours (or just win the worldwide Risk and save us the effort :p)!
