I'm sorry, but gyorgy cziffra needs to stop cheating by coming from the future knowing who's going to win what. I mean, that's all he's good for around here: being a lurker (not a_lurker) and cheating.

The Wise Vivi May 9, 2007 06:43 AM

Come on Dopefish, I wouldn't be complaining. You are in a pretty good position.... I mean, you could be in my spot. Freehooker missed the last round and he STILL has more than me and BucPride.

Gyorgy Cziffra May 9, 2007 10:47 AM

The funny thing about it is I haven't followed hockey in years, so I'm just going off who was good back then. Working mildly well.

The Wise Vivi May 9, 2007 05:31 PM

Well, doing MUCH better than me anyway!

Little Brenty Brent Brent May 9, 2007 05:56 PM

I threw away some points with the Anaheim/Vancouver series, but come on, gotta put your faith in the home team.

I threw away some more with Rangers/Sabres, but that was really just wishful thinking that Sabres would lose and I'd get to read BZ cry about reffing some more.

GIVE THEM NOTHING, AND TAKE FROM THEM EVERYTHING.

Dopefish May 9, 2007 10:17 PM

I don't know what you're trying to convey, here.

Gyorgy Cziffra May 9, 2007 11:43 PM

It's a quote from 300

Give to them nothing- Don't post
Take from them everything- win this thing

It was a bad joke

Dopefish May 10, 2007 03:32 AM

Oh, OK.

I'm still waiting for Ottawa to lose, which I'm sure they will. It's extremely rare that a team beats the team I'm rooting for in the playoffs in any sport and ends up winning the championship.

The Wise Vivi May 10, 2007 06:37 AM

Be careful what you wish for... because it probably won't happen! Lol ;)

Little Brenty Brent Brent May 10, 2007 09:33 AM

Buffalo won't win because they won the president's trophy.

Wojo May 11, 2007 07:32 PM

Hey so when are we going to see who picked what team to advance?

The Wise Vivi May 11, 2007 11:00 PM

There you go, all posted for all to see. I wish everyone luck. Remember that for the Stanley Cup Finals, that you must also provide a total number of goals scored in the series. I will send a mass PM and remind you guys when the time comes. We lost two more players over the last round. This is mainly due to the fact GFF was up and down and a few players hadn't known Serious Business, or that GFF is back up, but on a different domain name and server.

TheKnightOfNee May 11, 2007 11:50 PM

Both series are split 7/7 among predictors.

And Detroit/Ottawa have the early 1-0 leads so far.

The Wise Vivi May 13, 2007 12:28 PM

I really think Ottawa is going to rock the Sabres. Could be a 4-0 series...

Dopefish May 13, 2007 12:53 PM

I certainly hope so. Or, you know, a 6 game series. :D

Little Shithead May 13, 2007 12:55 PM

I certainly fucking hope not.

The Sabres need to get back on their A-game, where they were pretty much all season before the playoffs. Since the playoffs started, they slowed their pace and pretty much stopped doing all the things that got them this far. For the Islanders, this was OK, but it really showed to be problem with the Rangers.

They need to shoot more, play smarter, and for fuck's sake, shock the Senators at home these next two games. We can't fucking rely on Miller to do all of the work.

Sounds like a summary of the Penguins postseason to me.

Especially because he's an overrated, smug little motherfucker.

More like a summary of any team that gets crushed beneath the Ottawa scoring machine.

Grundlefield Earth May 14, 2007 01:25 AM

Wow I didn't realize the Penguins brought their A game all season. Merv makes good points everywhere, but just ignore them, its okay.

Anyway, I am not really worried yet at all. The team has overcome countless things over the past two years. If we don't win today, yeah they are probably finished, but still if there is any team that could come back it is this team.

We had Game 2, but the breaks just didn't go our way, mainly with the referees. However, that happened last series too, yet it evened out eventually.

In addition, please go more in-depth on this smug little motherfucker please.

The Wise Vivi May 15, 2007 05:22 PM

WOW! Ottawa is rocking their way to the Stanley Cup Finals!

Grundlefield Earth May 15, 2007 07:44 PM

Sabres are in joke mode. Ottawa is playing great, but the sabres aren't even playing. They are of equal par with the Senators in terms of skill, but they are showing no effort to win at all. Only person who is, is Miller.

They have no confidence, they really haven't showed up at all in playoffs. They were good enough to beat the ny teams without trying though.

It doesn't count as "rocking" when the other team (for whatever reason,) isn't even showing up to play, 'tard.

Little Brenty Brent Brent May 15, 2007 11:28 PM

Come on, Buffalo! I need one game to tie for the lead!

Umm, I disagree. But whatever, I still think its rocking... Not Ottawa's fault that Buffalo is stunned either by them or just as a general problem.

Dopefish May 19, 2007 05:28 PM

The race for first is getting tighter. Brent and gyorgy are tied, and I'm 1 point behind.

The Wise Vivi May 20, 2007 02:40 AM

Yeah, things are looking intense now. Will update ASAP. We have started racing in Emo now so my updates and posts will be a little slower.

No. Hard Pass. May 20, 2007 04:24 AM

This game is all faggots mode.

The Wise Vivi May 20, 2007 09:44 AM

You are not very happy about your score and picks eh?

Niekon May 20, 2007 06:25 PM

ohhhhh!!!!! Upset in Detroit as the Ducks win 2-1... my place was going apeshit after Selanne lifted that puck into the net. Here's to hoping my Anaheim in 6 holds up...

No, I'm absolutely thrilled to be in 12th place. It's great.

It doesn't say much about anything. I don't think anyone guessed the Sabres would be done right now.

I did. Actually, my picks for the cup final has been Ottawa vs Detroit since the playoffs started. I've been running that prediction at all my friends. The reason? Ottawa owned Buffalo this year.

Dopefish May 21, 2007 08:36 PM

All I have to say at this moment is: go Red Wings.

Uh, I did. There's a reason I picked Ottawa in five.

Dopefish May 21, 2007 09:17 PM

Maybe I should've appended my statement with "when the playoffs began."

Niekon May 22, 2007 11:12 PM

Anaheim in 6... on the nose... I will take that every bloody time ^_^

Anaheim is going apeshit right now... and the folks in my place were going nuts all bloody game...
Bring on the Senators... we are ready to hoist the Cup...

No. Hard Pass. May 22, 2007 11:16 PM

Ottawa in 6.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOLDBERG.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOLDBERG.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOLDBERG.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon May 22, 2007 11:22 PM

Nailed the Ducks/Red Wings matchup on the nose. Almost makes up for totally missing the boat with the Sabres/Senators pairing.

On a similar note, it seems like Gyorgy Cziffra was really off this time. I think the big winner was Brent for predicting the Sens win.

I'm not even sure how to call the Cup Finals, although I'm happy to see Anaheim progress. If Buffalo can't have the Cup, then maybe the other team I like can claim victory.

No. Hard Pass. May 22, 2007 11:23 PM

Nothing with Pronger should win anything.

Niekon May 23, 2007 12:00 AM

Anaheim will hoist the Cup... it is ours!!!! Ottawa has nothing on Anaheim...

here you go... Anaheim in five...

No. Hard Pass. May 23, 2007 12:06 AM

Please. Your slow goalie is going to get perforated. Also, Pronger is a fucking goon and he's a goddamn hack. He licks the testicles of great D-men. The Stache, however, can stick around. Him, I like. As well as the brothers and Getzlaf.

Little Brenty Brent Brent May 23, 2007 01:37 AM

Ottawa has nothing on Anaheim besides the best offensive line in the league, one of the best top to bottom defense in the league (even Anaheim fans have to admit you have two nobodies and a half-somebody in your bottom three), and a goaltender who can actually move from one side of his net to the other. Besides that, I mean.

Wojo May 23, 2007 03:04 PM

I haven't picked the Sens at all yet, so I think I shall pick them now.

Sens in 6.

nuttyturnip May 23, 2007 03:15 PM

I'll say Sens in 5, although I haven't been paying that much attention since the Pens got eliminated. Canada needs to get the cup back.

The Wise Vivi May 23, 2007 05:43 PM

I will have an update and a new thread started for the Stanley Cup Finals.

Please submit your team pick (PM me) and guess how many wins (like before) and also guess the total amount of goals that will be scored in the series. That will be the tie breaker if there are any ties:

Stanley Cup Finals:

Ottawa Senators versus Anaheim Ducks
