Breaking news, consumers are big fans of Data Design Interactive's reheated diarrhea!

The world of PAL budget gaming steps it up another notch! ... By porting over their three year old PlayStation 2 games to Wii! I'm both amused and horrified! Data Design rivals Phoenix Games with quality, but as an exclusive feature to enrage the consumer even further, many of these games are clones. Like Action Girlz Racing is the exact same thing as Super Kart GP, just different characters. Hamster Heroes? It's also Orbs of Doom! OOOORBS OF DOOOOM!

Billy the Wizard is a new one! Oh wait no, it's just

http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/4...yhatterri1.jpg

They got in deep shit for this game when they announced it years ago. I wonder why. :cmb:
I've only had the pure delight of playing one of these games before, London Taxi Rushour. Only one h, it's all we neeeeed. It's a Crazy Taxi rip off that lets you drive through walls that aren't supposed to be driven through. Really great game, made me very emotional. It also had a camera angle that put you behind the steering wheel, which turned in the wrong direction all the time. Attention to detail!

"Hey guys what's goin' on who wants to come for a ride in my taxi we'll have fun seriously wow why are there crates everywhere?"

Here's the publishers site, where you can view eye popping screenshots if you dare. I'm looking forward to see what magic they can do with the Wii controller here. These will be the greatest games on the system forever, discuss!

NINJABREAD MAN FTW!!

No. Hard Pass. Feb 28, 2007 01:21 AM

Orbs of doom is some homoertoic game, right?

Infernal Monkey Feb 28, 2007 01:27 AM

Yeah pretty much.

I can't even understand what's happening in these screens, does the little snowman boy wish he could escape the Nintendo 64 texture land or something? "OH HOW I WISH I WAS DEAD..."

Muzza Feb 28, 2007 01:37 AM

It's times like these I'm proud and happy to be a PAL citizen. Those games look incredibly exciting and above all in-depth. My personal favourites happen to be Action GIRLZ Racing (*emphasizes the "GIRLZ") and Hamster Heroes (*emphasizes the whole damn thing*). *collapses due to overwhelming amount of emphasis*

Oh Data Design Interactive, how I love you so. You give my life no meaning!

StarmanDX Feb 28, 2007 01:39 AM

Man, I'd buy all these games just for the awesome box art!

Ahahaha ='D

More EXCITING information has been revealed!

Quote:

Stewart Green, the MD of Data Design Interactive, said, "We have been developers for the past 24 years and we have seen many new consoles but the Nintendo Wii controller is exciting. Rather than just offering faster graphics and more memory this is the first real innovation in hardware, and because of the ease of use and dynamic control we can see both new games and new players being brought into the games market.

"Our Mythmakers range of titles have sold over half a million units and with their family friendly and cartoon style they are ideally suited to this Nintendo market, but we are not playing safe. Of the 12 titles we have planned for release we also have the 18 rated Earache Extreme Metal Racing. A Death metal music game, which will open up the Wii to a whole new market."
HALF A MILLION COPIES HOLY HELL the video game consumers are very wise today, yes yes. And I like that their idea of getting excited over the controller is to port PS2 games. That is exciting! Also WOW Earache Extreme Metal Racing, what an inviting name! That will be GOTY! EXCITING!

map car man words telling me to do things Feb 28, 2007 03:33 AM

They've been developing games for the Wii for 24 years now! =ooo

Ninjabread Man is always angry Angry ANGRY.

How was it they came to think "This might sell"?

Amayirot Akago Feb 28, 2007 07:16 AM

Oh my sweet deity.

speculative Feb 28, 2007 08:49 AM

Why do these games have the best graphics of any Wii screenshots I have seen posted yet? Or, are these the PS2 versions and therefore the Wii versions will have worse graphics? They clearly are going to corner the market by mastering the Wii graphics hardware where others, such as the "rail-clinging lava dancing man with arrow" have failed!! :tpg:

Kilroy Feb 28, 2007 09:49 AM

If they'd just keep all their shit on one console... I'm both lolling and being sad, because Wii's the new target for their shitty games.

And I think Ninjabreadman looks great. But I know it's as shit as all the other games. They probably doesn't even use the Wiimote for anything.

Burp Feb 28, 2007 02:02 PM

Don't forget that "Earache Xtreme Metal Racing" was designed by "some totally hot teenage goth girl OMG!!" (no, I'm not making that up, that's one of the big selling points of the game)

Lukage Feb 28, 2007 03:31 PM

Move over Guitar Hero, you have an heir to your mighty throne!

FEAR! http://gonintendo.com/wp-content/pho...uresboxart.jpg

It's so rockin' that it's an ADVENTURE!

FatsDomino Feb 28, 2007 03:58 PM

PAL doesn't deserve to keep this shit to themselves. Totally going to mod my Wii whenever they figure out how to deregion it for everything.

lol Ninjabreadman......

I just shat myself.

Gechmir Feb 28, 2007 04:31 PM

blol. Look at screenshots for Ninjabread Man & that Dreamland one.

Looks EXACTLY THE SAME.

FatsDomino Feb 28, 2007 04:55 PM

They all use the same engine and they don't even try to hide it. Over half of those games use the same character head in the upper left corner with a bunch of hearts next to it.

Apparently their GODS2006 engine will be so drastically different that it'll allow for zombie hunting using cars and guitars. Sweet!

Seriously, these games' graphics shit all over Odin Sphere's. That beautiful art just looks so pathetic compared to these. I mean just look:

Oh this comparison makes me laugh. In more ways than one.

That there was the clincher for me to pre-order Action GIRLZ Racing. Oh how awfully embarrassing...this game is for girls! But I shall still buy it and enjoy it.

(Seriously seriously...MY EYES! THEY BURN!)

Oh by the way, these games better have soundtrack releases. I can see those featured tracks on my playlist.

Infernal Monkey Mar 1, 2007 01:56 AM

Yeah totally, that London Rushour song belongs on the radio! A constant loop! On every station (only to be stopped at midnight to make way for Billy the Wizard's groovy tune)! =o

Sin Ansem Mar 1, 2007 09:19 AM

Apparently the game here are so awesome they made my posts disappear into thin air! :gonk:

Muzza Mar 1, 2007 03:31 PM

Oh, well, yeah...they'll do that. :)

PsychoJosh Mar 3, 2007 02:19 AM

"Hey guys check out this wizard kid I made in Maya3D!! Damn near took me 2 hours!!!"
*Assorted compliments and oohs*

"Maybe we could make a game with it...!"
"Yeah! We could call it Barry Hatter, the kids'll eat that shit up!!"

*assorted cheering*

"Good work, Steve. You get a raise."
"But what kinda game should it be? Maybe a Zelda-style adventure game with a large backstory and tons of character development---"
"HELL NO!!! This thing damn near took me 2 hours!!! Just load up that program we made for that racing game with the girly shit in it or whatever, and put him in there."
"Yes... and put him on that broomstick, and make him go up and down, and..."
"HOLY SHIT!! ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE!!!"

*more cheering*

"Awesome, guys!!"
"Yeah!!! This'll outsell that Hall-o game or whatever the fuck kids are playing nowadays for sure!!"
"And if it doesn't, our next title will!!!"
"HELL YEAH!!!! THIS CALLS FOR A PARTY!!! HEY BILL, GO GET SOME MORE ROCKS WITH THE MONEY WE SAVED!!!!"

RABicle Apr 16, 2007 05:05 AM

Infernal should be on their payroll as advertising director.

Infernal Monkey Apr 16, 2007 05:19 AM

I know! There'd be at least ten people aware of these games thanks to this thread, that's an increase by at least 40,000%.

Infernal Monkey Oct 2, 2007 04:12 AM

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS WOW (SHOCK FUCK!) VICTORY SUCCESS!

Popcorn Arcade label has a sellout first week and receives trade praise…
Data Design Interactive the video games developer and recently turned publisher, are pleased to announce their first four titles ‘Ninjabread Man, Anubis II, Billy Wizard and Rock n Roll Adventure’ were released to a receptive trade last Friday, with 2 of the titles already sold out within 3 days of release.

This is a great boost for the company since they have invested in developing a dedicated studio to keep up with demand; the company intends to release 14 Nintendo Wii titles on their Popcorn arcade label before Christmas.

On the Monday I tried to order some promotional units and was amazed to find that Koch were already out of stock, we knew there was a market for family friendly titles that weren’t overly complicated, so kids can pick up and start having fun within minutes. At an affordable price we expected a sellout at Christmas for stocking fillers, but having to reorder double the quantities in the first week is beyond our expectations. The Wii is going to be a big success at Christmas, and for us, Christmas is coming early! My bowels are churning!

Alison Fraser, Product Manager Gamestation, said;

It’s great to see the release of a budget range on the Wii console which is attracting the more casual gamer. Popcorn Arcade games are fun titles which will benefit from the growth of the Nintendo Wii Market.

Stunning!

Erotic!

I hope Phoenix Games jump on board now. If Data Design's two year old PAL PS2 ports can score an American publisher and the blessing of Nintendo's new 'don't give a shit what you do' attitude, IT COULD BECOME REALITY. AMERICA MUST TASTE THE TALENT.

This is true innovation. Discuss!?

Sin Ansem Oct 2, 2007 07:26 AM

Oh wow. Just wow.

I am amazed.

BTW EGM had some "Wii Crap" article and highly bashed all the lack of quality control for the Wii. These games were the evidence.

What a mystery...

Buizel Oct 2, 2007 09:16 AM

At least they manage to present the game in widescreen... >_>

Kilroy Oct 2, 2007 09:22 AM

I saw Darwin the other day. That would probably sell bucketloads on Wii...

But Phoenix Games would be awesome too! Those Lion King games are so fun and.. fun?
